This church was part of a large and important monastery belonging to monks of the Benedictine order. These monks came to York from France in 11th century and built this church. It's also mentioned in the Domesday Book of 1086. The medieval period script, Corpus Christi were kept in the church.

Large church which used to be even larger. Not to be confused with Holy Trinity Goodramgate. Very interesting display about monasticism and monasteries in York, free and well worth a short visit. 15th c wooden stocks!

This church is built on the site of a large Benedictine priory that suffered the usual fate of monasteries due to the Reformation. A lot of the church was rebuilt in the 19th Century. The building is Grade I listed. It is a very peaceful place inside away from the noise of Micklegate.

Beautiful and peaceful place! Many information inside it and a museum touch as well. I had the luck to be there on a random weekday afternoon and I was alone. If you are in the area, highly suggested to visit it!

The best place to worship, everyone is welcome. Wonderful vicar, friendly people and there's space design for kids to have fun too in the church. Refreshments after service

I went to Holy Trinity Church today to check out their contribution to York Bloom. The Sounen Project had created an installation of trees and birdsong that really made the church a magical place to visit. The church itself is beautiful and I'm really glad I visited

One of many churches in York,this church is well worth a visit,ask about the west door!you will be drawn in to the English civil war,just a couple hundred metres from micklegate towards the city on your right,you will find the large map there! Enjoy!
