Just been in and bought a suit for my daughters wedding. Great choice, very helpful no pressure. Measured when I got there, then pointed to the rights sizes. Once I'd picked one and tried it on, one of the staff members checked if it needed adjusting. This is a free service. I needed an inch off the jacket and trousers. They will call me when it's done. Great service highly recommended.

This business has always been my 'go to' for all menswear The staff have always been polite and very helpfull without being 'pushy'. I bought a pair of trousers and left some change in the fitting area (+£10 note) The assistant found it and brought it back to me before I left the store. I visited specifically to purchase a new suit, having been very happy with previous purchases. I was welcomed by a helpful staff member, and soon tried on a suit; it was excellent. The staff member arraged for the trousers to be shortened slightly; this was completed in 10 minutes free of charge. I also purchased a tie. I forgot to buy a new belt... that can wait until next time. Just a few minutes walk from New Street station, and highly recommended.

I ordered over the phone 3 suits using measurements given to me…David was able to tell me that my measurements didnt quite work and helped me to correct them…we went in for a fitting and the advice from David was spot on! Went in and got measured for a suit. Never bought a complete suit before so I found the type I liked and went to speak to the staff. I think his name was Seb. He was very helpful. Tried on two size options and the second was good. Bought the suit and returned a week later following alterations and it fits perfect. Lots of options for suit styles and a vast amount of accessories to complete the outfit.

Great initial service but once directed to upstairs to find a named advisor the space was empty except for cleaners and alterations. Had to go back and ask for assistance. Once we had an assistant it was an okay service, initial welcome was what made me buy.

I came here a week before writing this review. I was looking for a nice fitted suit for a friend's wedding. I was measured up by the assistant manager and shown directly to the suits that would be in my range. I wanted a brighter grey as I usually go really dark and wasn't sure how the suit would look on me. I spoke to Imran who measured the suit on me and suggested some alterations for a more precise fit. Once that was done I was directed to a lady who would measure for ties and accessories. She sorted me out straight away with a nice blue shirt and suggested a nice burgundy tie. I waited a week and picked up the suit today. As I was put it on and then was looking in the mirror, I was really impressed with how it all looked on me. I was glad to see Imran pop round and also check out the fit with his compliment. I have come to Slaters a few times over the past 15 years, not often but this visit was by far the best. I felt looked after throughout and the professionalism from you each employee I encountered was great. It's so good to see people take such pride in their work. They actually care how things look and will look on you as opposed to just trying to seek and shift stock on. On my visit today, I picked up the tie that was suggested for me last week and had a nice brown belt to match too. I'll be back (after payday) to get some nice shoes and will definitely be visiting more often in the near future. Thank you guys so much. Glad to see you still open and working after the lockdowns too

Wish I could give more than 5 stars. They should consider changing the name to "life savers". I've been a couple times now but everytime I've gone I've walked out with a great suit, above and beyond my expectations (things I wouldn't have even thought to try and different to what I was planning on getting) There's a good range of styles and prices. You won't break the bank (unless you want to). I typically shop with a £200 budget and have managed to stay under while shopping here. Everytime I've gone the staff have been great and I did feel like I was being taken care of. They do offer free adjustments on the day and 28 days after purchase. I might be misremembering but I do believe before covid they offered adjustments up to a year after purchase (maybe that'll make a comeback after they recover, I'll be sure to keep my eyes out!) Apart from that there's isn't much else to say. If you've got a wedding, graduation or other planned, consider checking this place out. It's close to New Street station, the service is great and if you're in desperate need for something smashing asap you could be in and out within an hour. Believe me, I've been there

Visited today to pick out a full 3 piece suit, shirt, tie, pocket square, shoes - the lot. I was helped for over an hour by a staff member called Alex, who helped me plan the whole outfit: choose the suit, pick the right ties etc to match. Possibly the best customer experience I've ever had, the staff couldn't have been more helpful. Even though the store was busy, there were plenty of changing rooms available and the actual suits etc on sale were (as usual) great value. Will definitely be visiting again for my next suit soon.

I've been shopping here on and off for well over 20 years, and could not possibly fault them. Ranging from boots when starting a new job, casual wear, a suit for my wedding, for daughters graduation and soon her wedding too, the service has always been superb. Staff are exquisitely dressed, which gives confidence in any advice or suggestions they give, they are never pushy and nothing is too much trouble. I just wish all clothes shops were like this. They're not, which is why Slaters will always be my first choice.

Big selection of suits, but the trouser waist and leg sizes are established by measuring your chest! Weird or what? I'm afraid I have quite a large waist and very short legs, it was never going to work for me. To be fair they do offer a free alterations service but I think the trousers wouldn't really look right. Also I don't go to Birmingham City centre very often so I didn't want to go back.

I Bought a suit for my sons wedding, I was one of 6 people who had the same make and colour in the wedding party, I am a 34 waist the trousers that matched the jacket a 42 short were a 38 waist, the salesman insisted they had to be altered to fit me , so they were taken in at the waste to a 34 , well they ended up looking like clowns trousers I had to accept them due to time constraints I wasn’t happy at all , so my advice is get the trousers that fit you don’t have them altered.

Kamran at Slater's was a credit to the company. We were after four wedding suits for a summer UK wedding in 2021, and chose Slater's as we'd used them previously. On our first visit to Slater's early in 2021, we were dealt with by somebody else, not Kamran, and it wasn't the best experience. He didn't seem bothered, wasn't very helpful and looked completely disinterested. We went back to Slater's a few weeks later, hoping to be greeted by another member of staff. This is when we met Kamran, who was fantastic. He went out of his way to ensure we got everything we needed/wanted. Also, keeping us in the loop by communicating at various intervals throughout the whole process. Very pleased with the suits and the service offered by Kamran at Slater's Birmingham.

Really enjoy my time here when I shop. They have a good variety of styles to suit most occasion's. The staff are very helpful. The quality of the clothes feel very nice. Also got some lovely shoes where I'm normal very fussy, though the assistant there looked somewhat judgemental of me and my style without asking a thing about what I was looking for. Bit odd. I really can't praise this store enough. Bought suits for a wedding party and right from the first visit the staff made us feel like we were the most important people in the store, and went the extra mile. Bought a suit from the Birmingham branch, they altered it for me and sent it to me via DPD for a nominal fee. Once I received the suit I noticed a couple of marks on the front of the suit, I got in touch with the shop and was dealt with by Imran Javaid the assistant manager, who could not have been more helpful. He sorted it out straight away, arranging the pick up of the suit (with marks) and then arranging a replacement . The service from them was second to none. I will definitely use this branch again, and cannot recommend them high enough.

Great service!!! Bought a suit 4 months ago and went today(20/06/19) to buy another one.. The belt I bought with the first suit had lost a screw and They just replaced it with a new belt, I was happy with replacing the screw.. so this was great!! also first time I bought a suit (in Cardiff store) they replaced a bottom that felt off a few month later,n charge! I have to say.. as a constructive feedback. They need a more personalised service... For me, buying a suit is a important moment (as I buy them for special occasions) but the service was less than personalised... Really generic, they need to understand people's needs and why they are buying a suit so the experience is more tailored to them... I rate 4 Stars as the after sale customer service is magnificent!! But I wish the in store service where more personalised so they where able to advise you in a more exiting way of what to buy as the person looking after me didn't looked charismatic at all!! Otherwise the sale could have been great, as I had felt there was a real interest on my personal needs!!

Needed a suit asap, as the one I ordered was too tight. Had a wedding the following day and a sales rep called Vinnie, was so helpful! Took the time to make sure I was fully looked after before I left the store, making the correct adjustments for the perfect fit but also having a great eye for elegant execution. I was greeted by a very helpful and knowledgeable gentleman who after only a few brief words and a quick look at my size picked out the perfect item. The price was excellent and the quality is good too considering this. I was in and out very quickly and could not have been happier.

Absolutely brilliant service on all floors. Sandra, in the formal hire team was knowledgeable and very accommodating for our group's suit hire and her customer service skills were brilliant. I think she is a good example of the staff that work here who all seem to be attentive to your needs and help out at a moment's notice. They have a brilliant range of clothes from your skinny guys all the way up to your larger bigger men. Note that this is a menswear store and you always feel special here.

Both times the Slater customer service was stellar, all the staff I interacted with came across as having plenty of menswear knowledge. They are not pushy on price either. For suits bought there, Slaters adjust for free.

I read some of the negative posts on here about the layout, the staff, etc before I went and was a little dubious about going here. How wrong I could have been. This place is fantastic! There are 3 floors of everything you could ever need. The clothing is all laid out by sizes (i.e. 46 Long jackets all on one rack) so the same sized garments are all in one place. Sounds sensible to me and easy to navigate. The variety is more than in any other shop I've been to yet. The staff were plentiful and extremely attentive without being pushy - it must be said that the staff are hourly-paid, not commission-based, and therefore you do not get any hard sells. I went in for a DJ and wanted something a little bit different to stand out. I was served by Imran on the 3rd floor who was exceptional. He couldn't have been more helpful, nothing was too much trouble and (instead of the usual 'snobbery' if that is the right word to use) was having a laugh with myself and the wife. Very relaxed atmosphere. The best surprise was that I walked out with a full 3-piece suit, extra waistcoat, bow tie, belt, pocket square for £280! I was expecting to pay around £400-500. The quality of the garments looks great. Time will tell. In summary, do not pass this place by because of a few keyboard warriors leaving (potentially) unjustified reviews. My son purchased seven three piece suits for the groomsmen. Father of the groom didn’t manage to lose the weight he wanted to before the big day and I was having a major panic attack! I was greeted with a warm and friendly smile by a gentleman called Kamran in the suit department. He was genuinely interested in my requirements and went above and beyond to find me the correct suit. I came in to Slater's Birmingham looking for 8 suits for my wedding and we were served by Alan. He was very professional, courteous and explained everything clearly. Between him and the manager (didn't catch his name sorry) they located all the sizes we required from other stores over a bank holiday weekend and promptly got them delivered to the Birmingham store. Nothing was too much trouble for them. At each visit to pay, get alterations sorted and collect the suits, Alan and the manager recognised me and any of my groomsmen straight away. Alan also called me a couple of times to keep me updated on how the order was going. I would certainly recommend Slaters to anyone who is looking for a suit based on my visits to this store.

There's a lot of choice, plenty of nice looking suits at a variety of prices. I've had an excellent experience with the Slaters in Nottingham before. The service here was quite mixed, when we visited the staff weren't very attentive. Took a while for anyone to approach and when trying suits we were just left to it. Partner was measured at one size, then when the first staff member left us to serve someone else (even when we weren't finished), another one approached and measured him differently. As a side note, some of the suits on the rail had stains on them. No idea why but it was quite off-putting. Quite disappointed overall - we ended up buying elsewhere.

I feel there's a misconception about Slaters. Yes it sells good suits, to 'suit' your budget (pardon the pun), and it does tailoring in that they do alterations, but they are not tailors as such. You'll only get suits of the rack which are adjusted to fit. The advise is 'suited' to the average Joe and I've often found that having a bodybuilding physique and being quite wide at top, a very narrow waist with thick thighs that the staff at Slaters are often left unsure what to do with me. Nice atmosphere though and friendly service.

All the suits are arranged by size not style, so a whole rack of 38". They offer an alteration service for a small charge, but as I bought more than one suit, it was free. Slaters leave that stuff to the likes of 'topman' and 'new look for men'; Slaters are a place of distinction and they do what they do best. Excellent customer service is to be found in every corner of the shop, high quality clothing at affordable prices, and their suits service is impeccable. There are lesser polyester blend suits that are affordable and there are 100% merino wool suits tailored to your fit at the right price, just ask a sales advisor and they will find you something agreeable. I have used them in the past and will do so again.

After returning the suits we realised a diamond ring had been left in the pocket of one of them, although Slaters automatically seach all the pockets upon return it must of stuck right in the corner. We did not realise the ring was missung until 3 days after the wedding. (Hard to believe but Bride thought it was in safe keeping of the person she gave it to). Contacted the shop who put out a request for the suit to be found and searched and bless them 2 weeks later it was found in Scotland and returned to us in Birmingam. A massive thank you
