H. M.An old, slightly run down and dusty Department Store, soon to close down, I think. I quite like it because it feels old fashioned and a little retro but it is always empty, there are little signs of decay everywhere and there's a sadness in the air. Nonetheless, at least one staff member (the manager of the suiting department) was very helpful and attentive in helping my partner find a suit for an interview.
There is wheelchair accessibility throughout most of it and a lift.
l. q. t.Love the house of hof, its my favourite shop to buy all my designer clothes etc. My boyfriend and myself been going here for years now. Fantastic quality and well worth the money for sure...highly recommend ✨✨❤🌟🏴

l. l.Not many of these stores left so its lovely to still have this experience lovely staff and a make up department to get advice, has a lot of designer brands with some good discounts. The only disappointment I found was if you order anything on line you have to return it by post because they will only offer you a credit note in the store, but then its different Purchasing in the store and returning it back to the store they will offer you your money back ! It Just doesn't make sense. Crazy!!

Z. S.It was our first restaurant meal post lockdown. Cardiff has many nice restaurants, we chose Le monde. We had a lunch at this restaurant. Food was freshly prepared, service was friendly and efficient. Drinks and food were served at the table. Great selection of wines.

G. D.Feels as though theyve just chucked a bunch of modern shops into the old building, the aesthetic feels a bit off in there imo. Beeper went of due to a cashier error. Security guard could have been a little more discreet considering we had a PS5, he was holding the item by the bloody window for all the smackheads to see clearly, and as someone got robbed on St Marys St for their PS5 the week before we were already on high alert. Besides that little incident it was a mediocre experience.

A. F.Lovely department store. I particularly like the make up counters on the ground floor and the restaurant on the second floor. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The ladies toilets were also nice and clean, a real bonus these days!
M. B.Been going years, first visited in 1970 and have had great service ever since. Sorry to hear the 'high street' is suffering. The Internet isn't a patch on a good department store where you can browse and handle the goods. Bought a lovely suit there recently and the man who served me had 50 years in the Cardiff clothing retail sector and it turned out our paths had crossed many times.
F. H.Always nice to visit a proper department store; such a shame this one has been under a gloomy cloud but hopefully will pull through. Huge shame that the food hall and wine merchant has gone, which was always one of my 'go to' areas especially around Christmas. There was a long period of time where a rather unpleasant aroma permeated the ground floor on entry, except around the perfume department which of course has its own ruthless rhinal assault, but that's all part of the charm (the latter, not the former). Not the cheapest of places to shop, but a great range of goods that are worthy of a good browse.
M. G.Not only a fabulous shopping experience but really good cafe too. A bonus is that customers toilets are clean. There were some bargains to be had too. Staff are always polite and helpful. Visit this store every time I go to Cardiff.

J. “.Limited choice of clothings and beauty products since the management changed. The young lady staff at Mint Valvet stall was very helpful and professional as always during my visit today. She deserves a medal. However, the staff at the Ralph Lauren till by ladies toilet who couldn't speak or undersatnd English properly was very unprofessional with zero mannerism. Why are they even hiring staff with bad attitude and have no idea on customer service?
S. T.A good old department store. You want something? Odds are that they sell it somewhere on the various floors. You want a certain variety of jeans, they have an amazing selection. If they are out of a certain style or size, they can order it in. Sadly this us the sort of store that is being superseded by specialist shop. It may not always be the cheapest, but it's real.
v. w.I find it a super store, I always find the cloths that I like plus the store is a bit posher than the others in town.
I mostly like it because our family always shopped there when I was young, (now 73) all other stores are much later. You have staying power. Good..
P. C.It was alright, but on your first few visits (or maybe all your visits there) it is a little tricky finding certain products like the coats. It is quite expensive there as well so maybe go certain events like after Christmas (boxing day) and after new years also go during Black Friday.
J. D.Large, rambling, department store offering good quality goods right in the centre of Cardiff. Great for mooching around on a shopping day. Look out for the local market a few doors away in one direction, the quaint arcades in the surrounding area and the open air cafe in the small square that it backs on to.

J. L.Some good brands but staff are completely uneducated/not passionate about any of their brands. Ralph Lauren shirt had holes in it from the way it had been folded over card to hold its shape. £100 shirt ruined before it was even purchased
U. R.It's not quite what it used to be since sports direct took over, lots of sale rails and most of the big names have gone but you can still get a bargain there if you look around. All the furniture has gone and the house wares is looking a bit sad.
S. T.You get still get the Premier service you have always got at this store. Great selection of mens and womens clothes and glad to see they still have the old photos on the walls of this very old store. Gret to see its still with us.
M. S.A nice well laid out store though quite expensive even though up to 70% off in sales. We had a meal in the restaurant it was one of the best chicken casserole I have had. The staff were very friendly.
K. M.I went to the Benefit Cosmetics counter this afternoon and the service I was given by Vivien was brillaint! She really helped me and listen to my needs and was complelty honest as well. I. J.A bit run down, and ever so slightly "Grace Brothers". The selection of clothing is superb, and staff are a pleasure. The shoe department is a major disappointment; untidy, confusing and staff not as helpful/plentiful as in other areas.

D. W.Quality merchandise, we went to the lingerie department and we were served by a very pleasant and helpful young lady, they did not have what we wanted this time but the young lady informed us that they were always getting new stock in, the young lady in question was named Claire.
H. A.Great place when it have deals. Some of the prices were comparible to Birdgend Outlet especially for quality brands. Staff are helpful. Can be a bit difficult to find what you need at discount times.

Staff are always helpful and friendly in all the departments I shop in. I have never been 'pounced' upon by a member of staff. I'd go as far as to say that Howels is the best store in Cardiff now.

F.House of Fraser is a bit of a potluck shop there are a lot of high quality things there however in and amongst it is many things that are simply in the aisles for mass-market appeal so House of Fraser will generally require a longer shopping trip and a lot of in-depth searching to find something exactly right but they do have a few hidden gems in in the months the general mass of the shop.
M. P.Used to work here a interesting fact the building is made up of more than one buildings from over the years past. In the middle of the building is a disused church that is hidden in behind a fake wall, the place itself is not visible only a stone peice in the ground floor section. As it stands now as been open many years and now mostly consists of concessions as aposed to all house of Fraser products. Bit of cool history quite a historic set of buildings.

A. S.The Mike Ashley touches are clear to see with the sprinkling of cheap Pierre Cardin next to Ralph Lauren. The selection is still there but the feel has definitely changed to before. Still credit to Mike Ashley for keeping people in jobs.

J. G.House of Fraser is bigger than I thought. We were looking for Phase 8 and eventually found it. They didn't have the dress I was looking for, but had the bag and fascinator.
G.Used to be a great shop, has had many of the better lines removed and now stick to the same old same old.
