An Edinburgh treasure, I always love stopping in when I'm in the area. The owner is super friendly and clearly passionate about vintage clothing. She once quickly did a small sewing alteration for a friend while we were shopping! I follow the shop on Instagram too and love the content and previews they put out. A big part of why I love vintage shopping in Edinburgh.

Carnivale is hands down my favourite vintage shop in Edinburgh. The clothing is organised by decade and size (aka the BEST way), the stock changes regularly and there are beautiful accessories and jewellery everywhere you look. The changing rooms are well lit with huge mirrors (perfect!) and there's a discount for students which I have taken full advantage of on multiple occasions! Rachael the owner is so kind and works incredibly hard to find her customers what they're looking for. She also uploads new items to her website and shop instagram all the time, which is super helpful.

My husband and I stumbled across this gem when we were on our honeymoon in Scotland. We had such a lovely time chatting with the owner that we stopped by nearly every day we stayed in Edinburgh. She recommended other fun places to check out locally and is just a delightful person all around. I got several lovely pieces that I get compliments on all the time (and have held up through a lot of wear!). This shop is a treasure trove and an absolute must visit if you're in the area but if you're not close by, you can get pieces online too!

Fantastic shop full of vintage gems, the staff are knowledgeable and friendly. The clothes are all very clean, good quality and everything is really well priced. I bought 2 dresses from them via instagram recently, Rach came across a small mark on one of them which she made sure was removed before I picked up the dress. I have been buying vintage clothes from this amazing shop for nearly a year! It relighted my love for vintage fashion and I have so many amazing pieces from here that you cannot get anywhere else. The owner is so helpful and is happy to answer any questions you may have about items to make sure it is right for you. She has so many treasures in her shop and it is so easy to buy online and through Instagram I have purchased so many fabulous items through a DM!!! I will never stop shopping here I love it! The highlight of my day is usually 5pm or 7pm for the live stories 😂❤️

Cute wee shop, sells a good range of well priced vintage and the staff are friendly. Has a good range of different eras and therefore price points. You can find 50s ballgowns for over £100 but the 60s items onwards are very affordable. Seems to get in new stock often and everything is clean which is nice.

I was lucky to find this very nice vintage clothing shop when I just walked passed. The clothings are amazing and you can see they are hand picked and not just put out of a big donation bag. The service is great and when I return to Edinburgh i really want to go there again!

I’ve purchased many things from this shop via their Instagram page and always have an amazing and positive experience. Rachel is beyond amazing and a has expansive expertise when it comes to vintage garments, vintage history, styling suggestions and sewing and alterations ideas. Every item I have gotten has been in the exact condition specified, if not better. Her shop has extremely reasonable prices and unique pieces awaiting their new life. I look forward to watching the shop’s IG stories everyday to learn a little bit about the different items in her shop and garment history. A wealth of knowledge on those stories! I only hope to visit the shop in person one day because I know it will be a dream! Plus, Rach is a truly lovely and good hearted person who goes above and beyond to make sure customers are satisfied. Makes buying from her and supporting her small biz even better!

Best vintage shop in Edinburgh. They have large selection of vintage clothes from XIX century to 90s. My 1920s dress from Carnivale is stunner. Clothes are in good condition and clean. And lady owner is lovely!

Everytime I visit Edinburgh I have to make a stop to Carnevale. Rachel does such a great job finding unusual and beautiful stock, in all sizes, and at incredibly reasonable prices. And not only is the physical store beautiful, easy to navigate and welcoming, but her online presence on instagram has been a beautiful spot of colour and fascination during this very long and isolated year. Having purchased both in store and online, I am happy to say that the personalised treatment in-person carries through to the online purchase as well and it was both incredibly easy and arrived in the post swiftly. Love this shop and I love seeing the well researched posts of her stock on my IG feed.

If you love vintage then this is the shop to visit! Knowledgeable and friendly owner with a fantastic selection of men and women's clothing as well as jewellery and other accessories. Competitively priced and I have come away with something on each visit- an original 1960s dress and matching jacket is my favourite found on my first visit! Hope to return soon.

I'd been given a recommendation to drop into this store before my trip to Edinburgh and wasn't disappointed. I went in without anything in mind to shop for in particular, to my surprise found a pleasantly furnished and set out store with plenty of varied stock. I'm always looking for 60's to 70's gear but there were goods to suit all tastes and not just the obvious genres. Some vintage stores seem crammed with stock just for the sake of it, whereas I found this store focussing more on what seemed to be carefully selected quality items. That was refreshing and also meant it wasn't a chore to take items off/on crowded racks. I'm a pretty fussy buyer and the staff were very patient with my try on, take off, try alternate option on, then go back to first option approach you know the sort that frustrates the hell out of a companion! I was keen on one of those classic heavy belted leather jackets and actually had a choice in colours & cut. All in all, a pleasant shopping experience and excellent store to find a quality non-obvious piece to complete your wardrobe or to fully fill one if that's your (shopping) bag.
