Budd lives up to its esteemed reputation as London’s preeminent stop for all things shirts and formalwear accoutrements. I needed some items for a new job and made the trip down from Cambridge today just to meet with James (the shorter of the two!) for some measurements and guidance. From the moment I stepped in the shop I was treated with top-notch customer service and attention to my needs, and with a very welcoming vibe from the several staff members I encountered. Budd as earned a new customer for life, 100%.

Three immaculate shirts made for me by Budd. Wonderful service. Very difficult for me to buy off the peg shirts as they never fit properly. Budd shirts are beautifully made and last. They are also stylish and I like their very own collar designs. Definitely recommend. You can't beat a hand made bespoke shirt from Budd.

I have bought several different types of shirts from Budd, most recently a couple of summer linen ones. They have been uniformly outstanding. I have also purchased PJ's which have been of exceptional quality. What makes Budd special is that you can get outstanding shirts and accessories, but the staff particularly Darren, are enormously helpful in making choices and proposing ideas. Its always a great experience to shop there.

Beautiful shirt making from one of the finest tailors around. My tailor was James who was extremely good, he explained everything clearly and with good humour. James talked me through all the gorgeous fabrics and helped me come to the right choices. My shirts fit me like a glove and I am delighted with them. I will be returning for more.

I have purchased 4 Budd shirts over the last 3 years , or so. I particularly like the brushed cotton country shirts as they are very well tailored and the materials are extremely comfy and warm for winter wear. The collars are soft and comfortable, with a good generous collar look. Of the staff, i find Christopher Mundy very helpful and has a v good knowledge of his companys products.

It goes without saying that the merchandise at Budd's is of the highest quality. That tradition has been well established and is certainly their trademark. However, the best merchandise available might as well stay on the shelf if the personnel is unable to represent it properly. For me, this is Budd's biggest asset. The sales staff is not only knowledgeable, but courteous and friendly in every respect. The overall feeling is that when one enters the Budd shop, it's almost like coming home again. I have own this firm for decades. As I say in my book History of Men's Fashion (Pen & Sword, 2008) they make some of the best shirts in the world and the best evening shirts of all - and all their service comes with a nice, dry humour.

When I began my career as a writer at Vanity Fair, the magazine featured Budd's extraordinarily high (2") wing collars on the cover of our Hollywood issue. Today, stars still don a Budd's shirt and collar for that issue. I've ordered Budd's shirts and collars for the past 20 years and believe they make every other collar look painfully short and lowly by comparison.
