Reviews of House of Fraser
P. “.
I got what I wanted. A belt on sale. Got one for just £10. Couldn't have asked for more. It's hard to find where pay and also very few staff around to ask for help.
L.
I ve just came to the store to collect an order. It looks tidy and seems to have lot of variety. I give 4 star because despite there were not much customers at the store I had to wait at tills for ages to get attended.
J. S.
Great shopping centre of house of Frase, very luxurious with 3 stores full of diverse staff from different bikes, clothes, and plenty other products at great prices 👍
M. D.
It was very nice to visit this department store, lovely higher end brands and a great sale - got two gorgeous Bibi dresses on a great deal, tidy, clean, helpful assistants. A pleasure to shop here.
P. T.
Some bargain s to be had here, although it does feel like a sports direct make over shop now !
E. D. P.
I like this chain of Shops descovered in Richmond and, after the closing, I use to go in Victoria Street: I can find my fav brands and they're not expancive!
But.. 3 stars only instead of 5 becouse at the cosmetic floor there's a really bad customer service, with ladies who think to be Jesus Christ
n. d.
It is sad to see an old establishment loosing its charm. The stock was not great
M. R.
Could definitely do with a renovation, looks like it's not been touched since the 60's. Staff were friendly and pointed me in the direction of what I was looking for, which was sadly not in stock.
C. O. C.
Lovely employees!
Good customers Service in all the stores I've been!!!
and I'm Proud to say that I've collected from House of Fraser a lot of perfumes that are long lasting and my preferred ones as you can see Below 👇👐
J. D.
My favourite local department store.
Have been going there for almost 30 years. Empty...such a shame...not many staff around. Was looking for some advice from Estée Lauder.🤔
Lots of favourite clothing ranges have gone over the last 3 or 4 years.
The latest casualty is Mint Velvet!!
g. h.
great if your looking to spend spend spend, just spend wisley in store and great customer service from staff and security.
A. H.
I went here because they are dependable and I needed a tie for a funeral - no ties in stock though!
L. M.
Love this store, so much choice under one roof
P. E.
Everyone knows House of Fraser, a lovely department store with plenty of lovely clothes, makeup, homeware, etc. But this House of Fraser brings a little twist...
Go up the escalators to find the Tea Terrace:
A lovely cafe with magical Cinderella carriages and Alice in Wonderland themed big throne sofas and indulge in some very reasonably priced afternoon tea!
I think it enhances the shopping experience but even as a stand alone place to visit you must try the tea terrace!
J. S.
Popped in for a casual smooch around and decided to have a coffee only to be completely surprised by the set up. Huge high backed Alice in Wonderland style chairs and Cinderaella coaches from which to enjoy afternoon tea. All the coaches were taken! But we did have a very nice afternoon tea - £50. Quiet for a Saturday but I know the area has a lot of office buildings so reduced population at weekend. Very close to St James tube and Park and Cardinal Place shopping and Victoria Station
K. M.
House of Fraser is the third largest group of traditional department stores in the UK with 60 stores. I visited the beautiful House of Fraser located in Victoria Street. It is not the biggest store but is elegant and welcoming.
I enjoyed my time in woman and cosmetic department discovering new products and trends. I like it!
S. K.
Interesting store with outlet for evens cycles inside, great for bedding items i like there Egyptian cotton range for sheets, well laid out store pleanty of space to move around,
Very friendly & attentive staff who are more than happy to help, very well lit store, so much available here. Really good experience all round i will always keep coming back.
M. J. A.
A good place to buy high-end designer brand products. Staffing is a bit sparse and most of the sections are devoid of sales personnel so I'm hoping they'd recover from the lockdowns and hire more manpower.
C. M.
Lots of offers on high end brands. Good service
C. T.
Came to collect PS5 and was also desperate for toilet, however unable as closed - please note if you're still trading then keep your toilets open 💯
Z. M.
It's a very nice department Al store to shop in.
When I used to work at Albert Embankment a trip to house of Fraser lunch time was my favourite. I love the stuffs they sell and love the shop altogether.
S.
Weird. But there is an Evans in here, bikes upstairs, service centre downstairs (just next to the entrance furthest away from Victoria) They are great. Very helpful - especially in an emergency!!
K. M.
Lovely shop! The biggest gem is the Game shop on the upper floor. Can't believe there is no mention of this at the front of the building/windows!
T. F.
At least this house of frazer is still open and selling properly not rubbish.
P. J.
Good Shop, but shame it opens so late in the morning…. I guess I can see why shops like this are struggling when nearby shops like sainsburys (with an Argos in it) and M and S with clothes and home buys are open so much earlier… it’s like they have sent the customers elsewhere
D. P.
Big shops, a lot of brends. Nice to visit
C. K.
Reduced stock- no bow ties in the whole store!
D.
Great place. Has almost everything you need under one roof. Also, has toilets for the public to use, if you're caught short!
J. T.
Good range of brands in one place
S. G.
Allsaints section is better the the Croydon HOF
A. P.
It is a good department store to visit. You can buy pretty much everything you need there in terms of brands from hight street to premium fashion. The store is fashion-orientated with a selection of cooking gadgets and a nice cafe on the top floor. The ground floor gives you the experience of make-up, perfumes and handbags with a bit of luggage area. There is a lovely cafe on the top floor designed in Alice in the Wonderland theme with a great chariot in the middle with a table and chairs where you can also sit and have your tea - a nice place for a party.
The downfall for me would be that the only customer toilets are on the top floor and there are no toys or sewing materials departments in the store. But on the whole in terms of fashion you can buy a lot of great brands, the store has got a good presentation of the products and it is a nice destination for a visit.
K. P.
Bargains to be had in the menswear easy browsing
L. H.
I went there to buy perfumes as a gift for a couple of friends. I had no clue what to buy. A staff member helped me choose. My friends later liked them. I am happy and thankful for the shop and staff
M. M.
Nice and clean department store with excellent range of concessions. On the first floor, there are bags/accessories, makeup, candles etc. and more. The first floor is clothing and the second floor has stationary, home goods and kitchen things. They have toilets and a restaurant on the second floor.
The staff are attentive and helpful when you need them but otherwise don't pester you if you are just browsing!
D. A.
Excellent as always, just love that place. This department store is always so clean and neat, the staff always busy and at tentative to customers needs. The Cinderella Cafe is so lovely. The best afternoon tea in that area and great price. 👛👗🧥🍰☕
A. E.
Lovely place to shop for all your items. Good items and the shop is nice and clean the prices are abit expensive however when they have a sale the have some really good sale where sometimes the prices are lower then fifty percent I have over the years brought some good things and they have been off really good quality.
B. 1.
Inside it looks and feels clean and fresh with shiny new shop fit but then there was rail after rail of expensive clearance stock and few customers shopping it. Staff levels, except for the beauty hall, were minimal and the team were not buzzing with excitement at the point of contact. Will need to do better to survive the challenging retail market
A. A.
Great place for shopping and always find some great deals. I usually do shopping from House of Fraser. Management team is quite pleasant, friendly and very welcoming. Store is quite large and and you will find almost everything from there. They also got designer stuff in all sections and you will always find a good deals. I love visiting their store and would not mind recommending them and visiting them again.
Recently they were under administration but jow they are under new management i hope the standard will stay the same.
J. T.
Good but not very cheap
s. L.
Manager Amira and Jessica made my shopping experience personal and unique! Suffering Santa and kangaroo with joey Christmas directions now up. Thank you ladies for your help 🎄⛄️🌈💯🕺🏾👍🥳💐
D. R.
My regular store near where i work. It is much improved since having a big face lift especially the menswear. Good range of designer labels and prices to suit most pockets. Very nice cafeteria/restaurant. Good for household also but disappointing that do not limited electronic devices compared to a few years ago.
w.
Articles are nice and staff knows what they are doing.
Only issue is, the price label was 69 and I was charged 89. When I asked if the cash person was sure she said yes, and proceeded to charge me the 89. I trusted what she said but when I looked again, the price was indeed 20£ cheaper.
Always check prices they will rip you off if they can...
J.
The store is bright and clean. None of the departments carry a very wide range of items but what they have tends to be good quality. I personally don't like the way the clothing section is laid out - if I'm looking for, say, a jumper I find it time consuming to have to go to each of the different brand areas. Having said that I recognise that some may prefer to shop by brand. The store was very quiet considering the pre Christmas period which made it easy to browse but can't be good from a business perspective.
M. R.
Lovely store but not a great stock.
C. L.
Good stock considering the current environment! Great place to shop away from the crowds
j. w.
Had to take photo only old building left on high street.
L. O.
Great place to shop great products
A. H.
Nice items and good stock. The store is always clean although the customers toilets are a bit hit and miss. Staff attitude also a bit hit and miss- many just too busy to help you or don't seem to think it's up to them to answer your question. In summary nice store but poor customer service from some staff lets the experience down.
J. C.
A centrally located department store with many brands on offer. Try the delightful tea room for afternoon tea and scones. Definitely worth popping into for clothes and makeup.
A. F.
Good selection, better layout after recent store refit, although always a pain to find changing room open. Feels like you're being told off for bad behaviour in school by very officious sign on back of cubicle door!
C. b.
Helpful, knowledgeable, thoughtful staff
B. L.
Loved this discount sale and the Hugo boss tracksuit however, I would have prefered a gift receipt option as it is a gift and if it doesnt fit I can not return due to the lengh of time between now and christmas.
M. R.
Great place, lovely staff and the tea room restaurant was amazing 🥰😍 lovely Italian su chef was also our waiter and he was just amazing! 😍😍 can't wait to go back and try more of the menu.
a. A.
Excellent customer service at the Estée Lauder staff yesterday. She was amazing. Her advice was perfect.
T. Q.
Really nice store with a great range of designer men's clothes (didn't look at anything else!).
Staff were helpful and friendly and there were a great range of stock of all the designers brands as well as 'own brand's.
Conveniently located.
S. K.
The selection was really great, many quality products for reasonable prices. We bought 7 products and they left 2 security tags in them. That's the reason for only 4 stars
M. S.
I could find what I want. Friendly service from the helpful Charlie. Thank you
K. J.
Fantastic shop for men's clothing,
Have been coming here for over 20 years,
J. M.
Lovely department store, staff very helpful, not very many customers, a real shame as I love the store.
a. h.
I bought 2 Links charms. The shop assistant was very polite and helpful. She retreaded & polished my bracelet, 'free of charge'. A pleasant shopping experience 🙂...One happy customer.
M. G.
I like this shop its always quiet. Good for getting perfumes and cosmetics .If you find clothes which you like get them the same day as display change daily and you may not find them the next day.
J. J.
Great store... but no baskets or shopping trolley's for customers to use. All of the customers I saw has their hands piled high with items. You'd think House of Fraser could at the very least provide some baskets or trolleys or even just shopping bags... IT WOULD improve the customer shopping experience a lot!
D. D.
Went into buy a wallet (xmas present) anf found store was well laid out and easy to get around - staff very helpful without being too attentive. In the past have not thought they would have styles I would be interested in but changed mind on visiting. Obviously undergone a revamp for the better in the last few years.
G. M.
In the menswear department Chris the assistant advised me and I had the best shopping experience with style and size assistance in abundance. He even raced downstairs to find a selection of belts to suit my new jeans, shoes and so on. Would definitely recommend for choice, assistance, location and so on.
L. C.
Some nice stuff to buy. But ground floor beauty assistants tend to be unhelpful compared to other departments. One of them was busy filing her nails.
V. G.
Lovely shop and there's a sale on too.
P. A.
Sadly very quiet plus few to no staff on the make up counters.
S. B.
This place is always relatively quiet. I've been during the week, weekends, Christmas, and it's never really been busy. It's the not the biggest when compared to the Oxford Street department stores, spread over 4 floors, but there's a pretty good selection of stuff across the departments
S. C. C.
Bright, clean, sparkling and spacious place. Customer Services ready at hand. Security at the the doors big time. No electronic doors. You have to push or pull - It's written on the door handles - and they are heavy doors.
R. S.
If you go after 5PM you need to look for someone to help with any queries. Think I had the store to.myself. good discount on my Ray Bans
A. A.
Macy's of London! You will find most of the brands here. Good time to visit the store is when they have sale going on. What I like is that you can get so many choices that it is easy for you to pick and choose. Men section is totally separate downstairs. All quality brands like Ted Baker, Paul Smith etc are available.
P.
I went in this store a few weeks ago as I needed a new pair of jeans. Well, in truth, I needed a new pair of jeans many months ago, but lets gloss over the hereditary issues passed down by my father on awareness of fashion -- it's my err genes you see. Anyway, there is a small Gap store in the basement of this House of Fraser and I can usually find something in Gap. Perhaps it was the look of confusion on my face, perhaps it was the state of the jeans I was wearing upon entering the store, but a very helpful shop assistant took me under her wing. She listened to what I was looking for and translated this instantly (just like one of those people you hear at the UN who speak a second behind everyone else) into fashion words. The word "fit" kept coming up, and I like to think that she was referring to my appearance in my current jeans. Yes, probably. I wish I had got her name as she was most helpful and took the time to rummage around for the best style for me to wear. Success arrived when I walked out of the store with a new pair of jeans.......followed minutes later by the nice lady. Had she been smitten by my wit, charm and holes in jeans? Well no, not quite. I had left my debit card in the chip and pin machine. Recommend this, if like me you're a confused male looking to add something to your wardrobe.
A. M.
It is clearly no longer a happy place for the staff who seem highly stressed. The stock in the various departments is hit and miss. The store and the staff appear in desperate need of some TLC from the owner. It was once a marvellous store and it could be again.
j. b.
The store has recently been completely refurbished which makes it a far more pleasant place to shop, Victoria St has no crowds at the weekend and the brand offer is more upmarket than before. The Home department is not as smart as the rest of the store which is disappointing
J. P.
The clothes my 13 year old Grandson purchased on Saturday 18th January were an absolute bargain....the staff on the other hand...one member of staff in the section for trainers implied my sitting on the very hard plastic bench would impede the sales of footwear...despite the fact there was not ONE single person in that department! So with all our chosen items we head to the cash desk...where things were very slow...Depak, a lovely gentleman asked us to follow him to another till, which we did...where he discovered he had a dodgy card reading machine that simply did not work, despite his best efforts. So cash was offered for our purchases....poor Depak had no change...no £1.00 coins at all...he asked a manager for some and the response was very negative and unhelpful to Depak. This salesman tried so hard to help and couldn't. We moved back to the other cash point and was greeted by Lynne.....the most UNHELPFUL member of staff EVER!!!! cash was not acceptable to her because she had no change and would have to go to find some.....if she could have told us to go away she really would....We had the right change, she need not worry, but she needs a lesson from Depak in customer service!!
P. T.
Very friendly and lovely staff
L. A.
Lots of shopping choices and staff are lovely and very helpful.
K. C.
Accessible & Well laid out (important as my 93 year old Mum's in a wheelchair). Shopped on & offline with House of Fraser for years. Always excellent products & shopping experience.
F. T.
I gather that the 'recognition ' rewards program only last 3 months. That's not long and I lost all the ones I had when they went under. Stuff good value though.
M. J.
Long established department store on a Victoria street. It has now been refurbished and resembles its sister store on Oxford street minus the crazy crowd. Therefore a better shopping experience. When wanting a break stop by the quirky tea room on the top floor. Choice shopping on the new face of Victoria street.
S. I.
One of my favorites off specially for the perfume causes always happy to be there for shopping save some money
R. M.
I mostly visit the clothes and shoes departments; as i adore nice and lovely clothes and shoes. Occasionally, I visit the bedding section where you can find a good selection of colours to suit your taste.
D. O.
Good when you want to browse for an outfit. Cafe is mostly a peaceful place to relax over a snack or just a coffee or pot of tea. Good clean toilets.
A. J.
The customer service you receive in this department store is fantastic, honestly they are not pushy but in case you needed any help they are there to make sure you get you want. This comes at a price as most things are pricey compared to your average store but if you want fantastic customer service I guess this is the flip side.
m.
Nice but the customer toilets need a revamp! Some doors don't close properly and are missing a hook to hang your bag/coat
W. H.
The best range of menswear I have seen in a House of Fraser. Loake, Diesel, Lyle&Scott, Penguin etc. 30-70% Sales currently on
J. S.
Stars all staff. Made me feel welcome like being at home. Displays, quality. Value & quality. Very nice experience. Hope to visit your top restaurants.
J. C.
No longer my favourite shop...too many new brands which are way too overpriced. ..the refurbishment hasn't brought any allure to the experience. Was much better before....always came away with something
v. n.
So beautiful!! Really incredible Easter things out
L. V.
Really good service. Sent a package here by mistake (not the collect+ service but actually put it down as my mailing address) and the manager helped me track down my package and called me back to follow up accordingly.
J. L.
The staff in the mens suit section were of excellent help
b. h.
Worth a visit, especially at the weekend, not too busy
C. H.
This house of Fraser is a pretty reasonable department store. It has over 3 floors worth of retail space. There is cosmetics on the ground floor, Women's and Men's clothing on the first floor, and the second floor is home and kitchen ware. There are a decent selections of things to buy here from Kiehl's products in the cosmetics area to Joseph Joseph and Le Creuset kitchen items. They also have an afternoon tea lounge in the homeward section but it leaves a lot to be desired.
P. W.
Nice store with a good variety of goods. I was looking at jewelry for Valentine's day and, although i didn't find what I wanted, the staff were friendly and not too pushy.
J. D.
Good selection of goods and brands from shoes and accessories to clothes and make up. Friendly service and recently refurbished to a very improved look. Love it. It's not cheap.
a. t.
Fragrance department was brilliant ,got loads of fragrance samples, thumbs up to the customer service lady who served me.
C. O.
Good for a lunchtime browse...quite good men's section, also good for cards, household, bed linen etc...best cosmetic & perfumery department in Victoria...
A. A.
Lovely and tidy. A real eye candy. Staff helpful, dressed nicely and willing to help out. Extremely lovely reception
M. Z.
Good size just not enough stock at times other then that its great
M. G.
I love the make-up section. Especially NARS that offers great service and products. That's not animal tested by the way. Recommend.
t. 3.
Can be quite busy even close to closing time. The shop, in a desire of using up as much of the space available as possible, makes walking around and browsing a bit difficult - this is similar to a lot of other department stores.
A. C.
Not sure why they dropped the Army & Navy brand name here. It's now a bog-standard House of Fraser store with little original stock. That seems like a wasted opportunity given the rental prices in Westminster!
C. S.
In the men's and children's departments really good selection of stylish and traditional items the staff were very helpful and knowledgeable it was clean and tidy with a calming atmosphere it was a real pleasure to shop there .
P. D.
A lot of good deals on mens clothing and shoes in clearance sections. Good customer service also. Would highly recommend.
F.
Good but they need to stand out. They sell a lot
of the stuff I found in Peter John or John Lewis etc... It's quite frustrating when I was looking for unique home decor
A. Z.
Visited during the sales season and was pleasantly surprised with friendliness of personnel and maintenance of the store despite of crowds of customers. Definitely will come back
M. B.
Fraser is a long time friend of mine. His open door policy surprised me a bit, but seems reasonable given the amount of middling-quality consumer goods hidden under eternal 80% discount tags.
H. Y.
Well spreadout displays of clothing and good selection on sale
L. E.
Brilliant. I was able to take my little dog in with me. I had to carry him but this was not a problem. Thank you so much HoF for letting me shop with my dog.
H. C.
I love the store. Staff helpful, they have a sale on. Bought some excellent bargains.
l. d.
Always a pleasure, HoF is one the best👍
P. W.
Benefits from the investment in the property and good quality staff but limitations on stock because of agreements with suppliers and in-store franchises may make ranges of stock available disapointing
E. M.
Great shop.My girlfriend loved the beauty department. Good clothing option, toilet on site is a great add-on.great service :)
S. D.
Dr John's right - this place does seem deserted, especially when it has a great selection of clothes and, especially, beauty ranges. Include Muji, an eyebrow bar and a nail bar, and it's invaluable for office types without time to go into Central London.
I. G.
Quiet shopping means time to look and discuss purchases before buying
P. B. (.
Like all house of Fraser stores but the difference is if you go here on weekend you can shop without the normal crowds the self playing piano in the the tea rooms upstairs is a nice touch.
A. B.
We had afternoon tea there and it was lovely.Did some shopping but found the service very slow.
B. W.
Handily located store with good range and friendly staff. It’s also not often busy which is great.
A. C.
Quite nice store. Great if you aren't from London, have a meetings nearby and have time to spare in between them.
G. K.
Always a pleasure coming here, the staff are helpful and always pay attention to detail, I came to return an item which was too small and they showed me exactly where to go and was very helpful in the process
L. H.
Really helpful service in the menswear department when I was looking for a suit for work.
They weren't pushy but still came up with a few great options
M. S.
It's always too hot inside here. Can't stay too long in there. Also brand mix predominantly premium rather than a good spread
C. W.
Much improved since the refurbishment, especially on the ground floor (beauty), and the collection service. Staff are friendly and very helpful.
P. W.
Good shop with a quiet GAP store on the basement floor. Only downside is no contactless payment so a pain when you forget your wallet!
T. E.
An excellent department store. Beautiful inside and so well merchandised. One of London's finest.
C. T. J.
Proper old school department store with the ability to furnish all your household needs from basic to high-end the store has the lot
X. W.
Of the (at least) three House of Frasers in London, this one is my favourite as the departments are the most sensibly laid out. Yes, I know that's a boring reason, but some department stores are so confusing and lack a natural flow and end up giving me a headache. This House of Fraser has a good variety of concessions without feeling too cluttered. It's also quieter than the versions at Westfield or on Oxford Street, as it's further away from the normal tourist drags.
This doesn't beat the House of Fraser in Manchester though! That one is still a clear favourite.
M. H. L.
Beautiful shop went to put myself in the Christmas spirit love it good place to dream just look Don t needs to buy look and dream
E. R.
Efficient next morning pick up service when reserved online by 10pm. The Tea Room at the top is relaxing.
T. J.
Great shop with pre Xmas discounts on some items up to 40%. Lovely tea room in pastel shades.
L. G.
Wide selection of clothing for mostly reasonable prices and fairly good quality. Service was good
S.
Great place to shop, you get to chose from lot of renowned brands
S. P.
Good location (approx. 10 mins walk from Victoria Station). Excellent range of clothes, perfume etc. spread over numerous floors
B. 4.
Love the range of mainstream lines like reggatta which are more unique items than they usually have in other shops
J. L.
It is not a great shopping experience, I go mainly when I want perfume as a gift or for myself and I feel like a criminal with the constant surveillance!
M. C.
Not the greatest department store.
Most of the staff are filling in for all the boutiques.
No-one is actually a specialist in what they're serving.
Take 15 minutes more & go to Selfridge's!
R. O.
Really big selection of clothes for reasonable prices, they are also good quality.
S. N.
Great location near St. James and good shopping experience. Nice homeward section on the top floor and has a nice cafe as well.
K. D.
Can grab a good bargain here at the right time of year, love this department store.
G. L.
All different brands on view didn't get any sales staff pestering so you are able to look at everything
B. H.
Brilliant, it's open, did some shopping
S. G.
The third star is given for nostalgic reasons only. Otherwise, the silence is deafening in this relic of retail past.
A. L.
Has a wide range of things to choose from, yet is neat and clean unlike other shops such as Primark or TK Maxx.
N. M.
Great selection
H. H.
Very mellow shopping experience.Good quality range of products
L. S.
Great shop for men's wear....all the top brands and latest fashion. Highly recommend.
P. B.
Love this place. Great choice of goods and lovely helpful staff
a. C.
Lovely peaceful department store, lovely staff, also visited afternoon tea inside the store
J. C.
Still a reasonable place for men's clothing and homewares with quick online/collect in store service.
G. H.
Went for Suits for my son's.. Really good quality. Only got jackets.
A. d. S.
my favourite shop for buying last minute clothes for parties I can get everything I need in one go and it opens until late
c. m.
Nice department store with a good selection of clothes that are now on sale!
M. H.
It has a good layout but not as wide a choice of shoes as it used to!
H. c.
It was ok bit priced for me
L. M.
Good range of products but both Menswear and Womenswear fashion floors are severely understaffed, it's very difficult to find help.
M. C.
Great choice and friendly
C. W.
It felt more like a TK Maxx than HOF
C. B.
This is a wonderful traditional department store that offers great value and good old fashioned service.
S. A. (.
On a good day you can get some fab bargains... their next day store collection service is the best I've ever used.
