I’m old enough to remember back when mens tailor shops gave a very professional and personal service. Turns out though that the good old days are still here! Initially sourcing a blazer at short notice for a remembrance ceremony the staff were excellent. The mark of a really good business though is how they react if everything doesn’t go to plan. A small fault was found on the garment once home but on returning it the staff again were excellent and the issue was sorted without quibble. Highly recommended.

Having picked our suits late with some very very varied organisation from the best man. Then me the groom changing my mind on the suits with 3 days to go. Couldn't recommend this place enough. The manager, Dan, was so helpful in getting 7 of us the right suit that fit nicely. As well as that there were a few time we needed to change the size of something in a short timeframe before the wedding; and Dan made it happen for us. Called here today ( to have a suit fitting for my daughters wedding ). The plan was to just be measured here & purchase the suits from the Leeds branch ! ( long story & wont bore you ! ). Fabulous shop! Special mention to Charlotte B who was superb. She was respectful of our situation as my husband had recently lost his Mum and needed a suit for her funeral. Nothing was too much trouble. She just seemed to know what to pull off the racks and we hit a winner very quickly. We shopped with ease and left within an hour, completely satisfied and reassured that my husband would be looking smart on funeral day. Wouldn't go anywhere else!

What can I say? They were against the clock as I walked in 15 minutes before they were to close and they showed me around, listened and gave advice as if I was a lifelong customer. I was very impressed with they manner and the female staff member that aided me in choosing a tie, seemed well informed on what matters and styles were in fashion and what was not. The prices are very reasonable, with tie prices matching those of Primark yet with quality on par with H&M or even Next. I was very impressed and would highly recommend this gem to anyone! A classic store for a classy man.

I bought a great suit here about 4 years ago. The staff are great. It's almost freaky that they can anticipate your size by looking at you. They also ask for what you're looking for, and can pick suits you'll like from the rack as if by magic! I bought my suit 4.5 years ago and took it in as there was a problem with the trouser hem and the inner pocket in the jacket. I expected to wait at least 2 weeks and a cost of £50 or so for the repair. The store manage came down to see me. I described the issue and he took my suit away for someone to look at it. 10 minutes later he brought the suit back, fully repaired, no charge! To say I was thrilled is an understatement. 100% recommend this store. I was so thrilled by the service, I bought another suit!

What excellent service from the minute we walked into your store. Calvin approached me asking what i had in mind, he took all the measurements and started bring suites over for me to try on. The suite I decided on, the trousers were to long and I needed them the next day. This wasn’t a problem Calvin said the tailor in store could alter them for us today if we had time to wait. I continued to look for a shirt and tie. I bought a suite, shirt tie and had the trousers altered within half an hour of being in the store. I had help choosing the shirt and tie from two other colleagues, helping with colour, fit and texture. My wife who was with me works in retail she said she could honestly say she had never experienced customer service like this, all the colleagues went above and beyond to help me, a big 10/10 slaters menswear Nottingham, we will definitely recommend you.

My and my partner were looking for him a suit for our wedding, we previously tried Moss Bros who didn't even acknowledge us when we'd spent 10 mins looking for a suit, which were all typically slim fit and lack of choice. We came across Slater's and were immediately greeted by Ewan who couldn't have been more helpful and more importantly, welcoming. We found everything my partner needed! Ewan is obviously in the right job and knew his stuff, he couldn't have picked out a greater outfit and couldn't have helped us more. Whatever we needed. Had a fantastic experience after previously a very poor experience. I visited slaters in 2017 to order a suit, and although I was measured, the suit sizings were way off, the legs were incredibly long to the point they would fall under my heal, and the shoulders were far to large on the jacket. I decided to give them another go due to friends saying it was good. We met Ben who explained he couldn’t measure me properly but would pick out a few that looked suitable, within a couple of attempts, I was in a suit that fit perfectly. The service and friendliness from Ben was fantastic and I’ll be sure to recommend him to friends and colleagues. Thanks again.

Great service. Went to get suits for wedding with my best men. Service from James Jordan was excellent. Able to suggest different suits and accessories. Just a bit of information on the ordering process. Pick a suit and they will order one in for alterations. Take about 3-4weeks. Go back in (this can be at any Slater store - best men going back to Nottingham. Me and in-laws going to bromley branch) for measurements and changes. And suit should be ready for collect after another 4 weeks.

Fantastic service, very professional, not pushy at all like some places I've been into for suits in the past, they'll give recommendations based on your build and even match what will work and what won't, they have everything you'll need in-house. Shoes, shirts, ties, suits, trousers all needed accessories etc etc. Able to make any alterations required and has nice sized changing rooms to check if something will suit you. Definitely recommend Slaters, renting or buying you won't regret your visit.

My daughter is to marry on Saturday 16th February and arranged to hire suits from Slaters in Nottingham so that he, the best man and the father of the bride all matched. The hire company used by Slaters let us down with the standard of the suits they sent being very poor and not fit for purpose. This caused some panic from the bride and groom as the wedding was the following day but in stepped the store manager and his staff to save the day. We purchased identical suits, any required alterations were done there and then and we ended up with brand new, well fitting suits at not much more cost than the refunded hire cost. We can't thank the staff and especially the manager, enough. We now have a very happy bride to be. Thank you.

A great place to find some bargain suits, as well as some great shirts, trousers, waistcoats and more. Just a great selection of menswear and the staff will go out of their way to help you. Always number one for me if I need something smart. It's just off the centre of town, easy to find, although you do need to climb some stairs (or use the lift) to get in to the main bit. I bought my favourite Ted Baker suit for £200 less than everywhere else that had it.

Cool place if your looking for formal wear. Very affordable tuxedos and suits infact most things you may need good prices and in some circumstances free alterations. You can also hire rather than but excellent choices and helpful staff. Give a try i found what i needed in 10mins.

Amazing store and amazing staff.... went in as I had a emergency..... interview in under 24 hours and had outgrown my suit trousers.... after 30 mins all sorted pair of trousers that fit and a tie. Was really nice to see the manager of the store on the shop floor and talking to their staff and helping them out and taking time to see if the customers were happy and looked after. Definitely going back there customer service is second to none and prices really good.... so much better then Debenhams or marks and spencer for men’s clothes.... Well done and see you again soon! Also they offer free in house alterations so. An go back there anytime and get my trousers altered! Amazing!!!!

You can not complain whatsoever about the prices. Also, the service is fantastic, staff do not bother you, but are happy to help when asked. Whilst visiting a music college in Nottingham we saw a young man in a lovely suit at the station. When asked where it was from, 'Slaters' he told us. We are strangers to Nottingham but with 10 minutes to spare, we found Slaters....apologised for late entrance and explained about the suit. unfortunately it had sold out some time ago obviously a popular prom suit. The members of staff there, assured us that our arrival time was of no consequence and a lovely young man offered to measure my son- Prom this month- so he knew what size to look for. We browsed but my son was gutted about the suit he had seen. As we wandered, another suit popped up and we asked a young woman who we came to know was Charlotte if we had time to try it. Like a Disney princess she pleasantly assured us to relax and try whatever we wished. James , my son, looked fantastic in the suit ! I would have bought it immediately. But we had done no Prom shopping at all and he wanted to look at Slaters online & the brochure we were given. We said goodbye to the lovely staff, Charlotte saying if she could help in any was to ring her or come again. James saw another suit in the brochure which wasn't online , so insisted I ring the Notts store the next morning. I dis so and Charlotte answered -I had hope to ask for her. They had the suit in store and the original blue checked one was still there. Charlotte said she would put them aside and get someone to tend to us. Charlotte explained it was her day off but she had popped in to help with something in alterations so wouldn't be on the shop floor. Drove 30 miles from Chesterfield. A pleasant chap came to see us and found the suits Charlotte had saved. Very pleasant. its's all very professional and old school -love it !! The original suit was the one. Charlotte saw us and came over to greet us , remembering our names. Agreed the blue was 'the one'. We needed the rest of the outfit really - I said we needed shoes. Again, with social skills I have not seen in a store for many a year- Charlotte was 'on it ' despite her not being 'at work'. Without a hint of selling us anything and a sense of having known her for a long time, James was introduced to several pairs of shoes - they both knew the ones again, a shirt - I would never have thought of- and tie /pocket hankerchief as on the manikin wearing our blue checked suit. As a mother you are braced for the prom shopping experience. This was my 3rd time. It was the easiest ,most pleasant, experience . I have to praise the whole ambience in store. I love the chaps there with tape measures at the ready, knowing exactly what they are doing, ready to find the right cut, size, shorten, take/in to perfect your look. i have always gotten my suits from here Good customer service. However during my wedding they messup up the measurements badly The suits arrived and only 2 came close to fitting. This was a few days before the wedding gladly they came out to our house the same day. took our measurements and got them soted b4 the big day and gave us a partial refund. so they sorted their mess and thats what I expect So I highly recommend. Hopefully the young lad who measured us got 10 lashes at least.

Cannot recommend Slaters enough, myself and teenage son went to purchase a full suit for his Dads funeral which was immensely hard as you can imagine, despite being incredibly busy Charlotte made us feel like her only customers, she was just honestly fabulous, so caring, thoughtful and without doubt went above and beyond, she picked a suit perfect for my son taking consideration for his age and how he would want to look. It was an emotional shopping trip and she showed so much compassion and empathy. We purchased everything she had suggested so perfectly and my son loves his suit.
