Great day out. Good for kids, thought the butterfly section was lovely if a little small. You can buy feed for the goats and poultry, we felt that feeding the poultry was quite boring and a little pointless as you can only really throw feed into the cages/pens. Craft Village and play centre were good. Food looked to be reasonably priced although we did not eat.

Butterfly World is wonderful! The price is fair and definitely worth it. As well as their amazing range of butterflies, there are also many other animals which you can see up close and even pet them if you're lucky! I also attended an included talk which was very informative and interesting. I've been here a few times, just to visit the wonderful gift shop, and staff are always super friendly.
O. T.
So good and so much bigger than the website shows. Loads of animals and quite a large space. Make sure you attend feeding times. Learnt loads and was very entertaining. Great time.
M. B.
Fantastic little gem just off the M4 junction 16. Plenty of butterflies and tropical plants to see. There is also a reptile house. You can walk through the Avery and get up close to budgies and cockatiels. Outside enclosures are home to otters, meerkats, goats, pigs and wallabies to name a few. Cafe and gift shop also on site. Well worth a visit.

Good place to take the kids for a couple of hours. A little run down but good non the less. Family ticket available which is reasonably priced. Plenty of animals to feed and fuss! 👍
K. D.
This place is if like 30 buildings just accidentally got tornadoed together and someone went "I'm going to fill this place with butterflies" and by God they were geniuses.
Although very ramshackle the animals are brilliant and its hugely interactive and all the staff were lovely and friendly and knowledgable and answered all of our questions. Otter feeding time was a delight and they sell feed for all the different farm animals and the butterfly house is gorgeous and exciting. You can feed the koi which is great fun and all the birds in the walk through are so lovely and it's great to see all of them recovering after being rescued.
There is also a huge play area and lots of little independent shops and a cafe. We had a brilliant day and would recommend it to anyone.
K. M.
This place has grown so much since I was a child, looking at signs it seems they are soon to expand further.
The name doesn't do it justice, there are a wide range of animals here that always seem so well looked after and comfortable.
Over the years this has gone from an avarage trip out lasting less than an hour to half a day out that's enjoyable, cant wait to see what comes next.
They also have animals that they let you hold and teach the kids about, which makes it even better.
K. B.
Bit Ramshackle but adds to the charm. Way bigger then you would expect and lots of animals. Look forward to going again when weather is kinder, but still a good day out in poor conditions especially if you need to get the children out of the house..not expensive at all..play areas, arts and crafts, garden centre...all good fun and filled a wet and dreary bank holiday Monday with smiles.
R. H.
Not as many butterflys as I expected but plenty of other animals to see, otters, meerkats, wallabies, racoons, reptiles, walk through aviary, goats plus other farm poultry and animals. Also large softplay area, craft shops and garden centre, 2 cafes. Easy to find, just off M4 j16 parking free, even if not going in, good motorway cafe stop.
v. k.
A perfect place for kids dayout who are below age 7. A variety of butterflies, domestic animals, reptiles, soft play area, cake making, paintings, lego exhibition, knitting...
R. H.
Lovely day out and inexpensive. Friendly staff and seemed to be good standards of animal welfare and understanding. Particularly pleased to see the ex-battery rescue chickens.
Y. B.
Been a little while since I've last been, great to see they are still getting new animals in. Great range of birds, mammals lizards and fish and had a great time watching the otters, meerkats and rigby the chonky raccoon getting fed with some relevant commentary from the staff. Wasn't very busy today but still had alot out to see and for £14 for the two of us with a hand stamp so we could pop out for food at the nearby cafe. Cute day and also fed a good chunk of the animals! Can't go wrong with newborn lambs either.
J. S.
Great place to visit! Had an amazing time in the butterfly greenhouse loads to see and learn, outside we found even more animals : otters, meerkats, goats, pigs, donkeys, wallabies, tortoises, a raccoon called Reggie, and many more, in the reptile room we saw some bearded dragons, snakes, spiders and some other creepy crawly's We even got to help feed some of the animals at feed time and handle them. For just over 6 pounds a person it made it a really cheap and enjoyable day out!
M. W.
Great place to be for children and parents. It has tropical conditions inside and you can find very big butterflies.
j. H.
Nice place to visit play area gift shop & a cafe on site also has some animals outside you can feed if wish.
G. B.
I love this place especially the Butterfly World part of Park there is a farm Also attached with farms animals birds alpacas otters meerkat and rabbits
N. S.
Good day out for the kids, nice to interact with the lamb's, little rundown but good value for money
J. H.
Lovely day out. Lots of animals to see, not just butterflies!
L. O.
Awesome day out for the kids as there are indoor and outdoor activities to be enjoyed.
J. B.
Great afternoon with my kids, lovely to go back with the two older children, and the youngest really enjoyed it.
N. A.
Loved it. One of the feeding times is 11.30 am Otters,Meerkats, and Racoon.
T. C.
Great place to stop, just off the M4 on holiday journey and see some animals and flutter bys. Great for kids.
K. A.
Excellent place to take the kids. Great very friendly staff. Very informative. Nice restaurant as well. Toilets need a bit of a clean though.
T. G.
Great fun I recommend it to anybody for a relaxing day out, well worth the money
P. F.
Beautiful time....felt like I am in my own home state...Goa
p. c.
Well worth the visit lots to see and amazing having butterflies flying all around your head and seeing all the animals
N. P.
Great place for day out with your kids
A. L.
Some incredible species wafting around, great place to visit. Soft play and craft centre a bonus.
S. M.
LUSH place to give with the little one's! Just get past the soft play first 😏"GOT to feed the animals 1st " WELL worth the visit!!!!!
M. B.
We have been here a few times now. I find it brilliant for my aged children who are two and almost four. There is a good range of animals, reptiles, birds alongside the beautiful butterflies. You can even touch some of the animals/reptiles at arranged times. Some of the areas look a little tired like the Cafe for example but the food is good. We went recently in the Easter holiday and although it wasn't crowded I would recommend visiting during term time as you have fewer people and pushchairs etc. A real little gem of a place though and plenty to keep little people occupied.
J. M.
The butterflies are brilliant! It's a strange place, made up of lots of different areas all quite different, but the kids loved the animals and you get a chance to handle them at certain times which is fantastic. Great place to take little ones.
C. C.
Lovely place. Great for kids.
M. M.
Was really surprised by this place. It's not just butterflies, but loads of farm animals as well.
I am a kid at heart and really enjoyed wandering around. My biggest mistake was only getting fish food on the way in. If you can, buy food for the chickens and goats.
Overall a really nice way to spend an hour or so of your day.
G.
What was once a nice little butterfly house has blossomed into what I must say is the most beautiful animal sanctuary in the south west. You have otters and meerkats, pigs and turtles and other beautiful animals all very well cared for. I can not flaw this for a good 2 hours out. One of the best things to do in Swindon great to take the other-half.
J. K. (. K.
Took my family there for an outing and it was rather embarrassing. The place looks quite neglected, very dated decor, especially the café where it feels the time had stopped there many decades ago... The animal areas outside looked rather sad. And I don't mean the mud everywhere, that's ok and to be expected. But just the general look and feel. The animals themselves didn't look too happy either. In the butterfly world we saw only 3 butterflies... The youngest one in the group was delighted, but not sure about the adults though. On the positive note the staff were very friendly and helpful. We're not likely to be going back there unless some investment is made by the owners to turn the place into a much better experience.
A. T.
Brilliant visit to butterfly world amongst the craft village. Great for the kids. However I just find it to be overpriced for what it is you actually get to see in terms of animals. May be more beneficial to visit in the summer rather than winter as some animals were sensibly hiding from the cold. It's a small affair and believe £15 for two children and one adult would probably be my limit however was charged near enough £25. For butterflies, reptiles, goats and a rabbit.. although we did purchase some goat food at a £1 a bag. The craft village in which it find a itself on the other hand is amazing!!! So much to do with the kids!! Definitley worth a visit!
R. B.
It's a great place to go out for a few hours especially with kids to keep them entertained. The staff are all so helpful and lovely towards everybody. All happy to help out and super friendly if you need anything. Amazing talks about the animals when they come out to feed them. Had a lovely one today with one of the staff at the meerkats and then Rigby the raccoon very informative and interesting
N. S. H.
Great garden centre with plenty to do and see. Great kids play area and various novelty/hobby style stores at the rear. Cafe is ok, with good variety of food, but similar to all other garden centres, you can often find the items for sale there a lot cheaper at your local B&Q. Good place to go when it's raining and you want to occupy the kids though...
D. W.
Had a lovely time with my two girls 2 and 4. Bit bigger than I expected, a bit of a thrown together look and could do with a lick of paint but we'll worth a couple of hours. In a nice little garden centre with a few little shops and a nice soft play too which was a bonus.
J. F.
Great for kids of all ages
z. H.
Great place, lots to do and see
J. B.
Lovely place to visit especially if the weather is not very good, it's called butterfly world but there's so many more animals to see from exotic to farm animals and you can feed and touch them great for the children. Cafe on site and a soft play area surrounded by little units offering lots of hands on crafts for a fee, well worth a visit.
d. w.
Just a good day out for all the family
S. K.
This has been a gradually improving attraction and one that needs everyone's support. At the moment its areas outside have been hit like everywhere with the weather so take children's wellies in case needed. It looks a tad tired in places but I hope you will support their good selection of animals and friendly staff. Support them please and don't worry about the puddles as children need to experience puddles and learn to appreciate the animals from butterflies to alpacas, past merkats, rabbits and many more .
L. M.
We really enjoy visiting the farm and the craft areas too. There is do much to do and all reasonably priced. My 2 year old loves painting pottery and feeding the fish in the aquatic centre.
G. G.
£8.20 for two mugs of tea and a couple of cakes. Really?
The butterflies and animals were good to see and the staff friendly and helpful.
Just don't buy any refreshments in the children's play area.
K. T.
Lovely place, and a great soft play area for kids. Don't think there's any good public transport links though. The walk from the bus stop looks dangerous for kids, so you might need to get a mini cab.
M. S.
Well worth visiting with a good variety of butterflies including those on the buddliea at the entrance. Useful information and facts on display. We also enjoyed the aviary; the reptile house and the farm where the children can feed the goats.
C. S.
An good day out with my 3 year old goddaughter, she loved the soft play and feeding the goats. The centre is quite run down, but the staff were helpful and knowledgeable about the animals.
j. w.
What an amazing place for a day out. I took an elderly disabled lady for a visit. I couldn't have been made more welcome by the lovely friendly staff. The butterflies and farm were fantastic causing lots of ooohs and ahhhs. We took our own picnic and sat under the veranda by the cafe. I'm definitely going to be back
A. F.
Reliable place to visit with the little ones. Decent butterfly habitat with various other small animals, reptiles and birds. Has had significant development recently with the addition of a Farm Park with a breeding herd of goats, sheep, alpaca, cows and so on.
Opportunities to handle animals and one (now two!) Very Large Rabbits.
V. A.
A lovely place to visit. However, there was no signage to say wheelchair access MAY NOT be possible to all areas. It would have been nice to know before paying full price to see 1/3 of the animals.
Raised the issues with the manager who took comments on board.
J. K.
Lovely place to go. I went with my 2 and a half year old granddaughter and she enjoyed it. Big enough to keep her amused. But not too big that she had to walk miles
S. H.
Soft play only. Good atmosphere. Reasonable price for the play itself, although the drink prices were capitalising on the captive audience. No real food options inside the soft play area unless you go to the café.
N. N.
Nice place for spending good 3 to 4 hours with kids.
Massive farm and landscape is plus. Went with huge expectations from the butterfly world however found it ok. Impressed with topical greenhouse setup is plus plus. Good collection of birds and reptiles too. Good soft play area and few shops(comics theme shop and Lego shop).
In summary it is great farm with cosy little zoo, butterflies, soft play and other stuff. Price is bit on high side compare to what you get in return. No internet ticketing available. Staff is friendly and welcoming. Zoo keepers are knowledgeable and keep you engaging in the sessions.
I am sure it would also be great in winter found lot of heating arrangements. Went on 23 degree sun and found it ok to spent Easter holiday.
c. g.
Lovely place to spend some family time it feels very welcoming with good facilities and lots to see and do. Me and my children enjoyed our visit here and felt really good about going.
a. g.
Great place for a day outing. We visited on a beautiful sunny day and was fabulous experience. Kids loved it especially feeding the farm animals. Would definitely visit again.
R. W.
Went here with my family. I think it was an awesome day out, good price and the food from the cafe was good. All the kids enjoyed feeding the animals and got them off the consoles and phones for a change
C. W.
The family really enjoyed our trip to Butterfly World. It's a surreal experience being surrounded by such amazing butterflies. My kids loved it.
N. Y.
Absolutely fantastic butterfly garden and farm. Lots of animals, petting zoo and you can even buy some chicken, baby rabbit or guinea pig. You can have a barbeque there, with delicious chicken wings and many more.
t. h.
Brilliant day out for the old and young, plenty to see and do, great value for money, if you want to go for food or to one of the many craft shops, or even softplay area you can enter and re-enter the butterfly area / farm as many times during the day !!
H. N.
A lovely array of animals and knowledgeable staff. Very reasonably priced, too.
Craft Village is also a fab place to visit with little ones as there's loads to get involved with.
S. B.
As well as the variety of butterflies flying around, there is also a farm park in the same area which has fishes, birds, meerkats, otters, wallabies and a variety of other animals, including a reptile house. As well as walking around yourself, you can also feed the fishes and watch some of the other animals being fed. There is also a decent size soft play area in the farm park area. Food is available from the cafe.
C. G.
An excellent day out! Especially on a hang over. The goats are very friendly as are the donkey's. You get a talk at feeding time on the otters Meerkats and the fat racoon. Good parking and fish shop next door. Butterflies are also cool. Not far from junction 16 of the M4
E. M.
It is a lovely place to take the kids with lots of animals but it does look like it is stuck in the past by the way it is decorated. It is in need of modernisation so that it can hopefully attract more visitors.
B. C.
Excellent day out for the kids and adults to, good value for money
t. g.
Took the children here, we all had a really good day out, the children thoroughly enjoyed it and didn't want to leave!, there was plenty of parking, and wasn't too expensive to get in, the staff were polite, would recommend!
K. A.
Loved it here! Lovely lunch at the cafe. Very friendly staff at the zoo/farm. Animals all look well looked after. My 2yo loved it.
C. S.
Good morning spent here, not over priced. Great for outdoor and indoor fun. Probably more suited to younger children though.
J. O.
Great for kids! Some cafeteria close-by. Can be quite expensive for the adults supervising their kids though. And then there's also some kids playground. Good place, especially for the kids.
S. L.
So hot in the butterfly room but amazing to see all through different colors especially with younger kids. They also loved looking ariubd and feeding the animals outside
S. W.
Brill fun for everyone. Animals are very well looked after too. Cheap day out for everyone great Cafe too and the play area is so good and really safe too
d. e.
Kids enjoyed feeding the animals seeing all the butterflies. Much more than I had expected. Highly recommended for an afternoon out.
N. P. (.
Lovely place to spend an afternoon plenty to see and do. Reasonable prices. Only criticism would be it's looking a little tired and worn now otherwise I would have given a 5.
D. B.
Lots to see and do around butterfly world, the exotic animals and birds, and the craft village is well worth visiting and having a special present hand crafted for you whilst the little ones play in the soft play area
A. E.
Like the small work shops, hairdresser & Butterfly's. They are doing it up at the moment so it's a bit of a mess. The person who own it needs interior decorated to get a good finish.
E. U. T.
A hidden gem! Getting there with public transport is not the easiest, but it certainly was worth it. Made a very nice place to take photos and have family friendly fun.
M. U. B. M.
Nice place to visit. Kids will love it! There's an indoor play area and also a small cafe/ restaurant.
K. G.
Even in cool weather, quite a few active. Also have aquariums, reptiles and small and medium animals. Interesting especially for children.
S. R.
Wonderful place, but make sure your children like butterflies before you take them!
S. K.
The place is amazing, I loved all butterflies and animals. Great customer service and friendly staff. Will go more.
W. D.
Expensive entry. Only a few butterflys in the main room. Raccoon looks to be in a cage that is to small. BUT, the main thing is my kids enjoyed it..
B. B.
Very good variation of animals, good entertainment, feeding the animals is amazing. Stuff is very friendly, I love to go back again, nice garden centre ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
M. W.
Great for the kids to go and see beautiful butterflies and exotic creatures to farm yard animals. Lots to see and do with other small businesses in the complex
L. A.
Stopped here to break up a drive from Wales to London. Really easy to get to and a great place to entertain the kids for a few hours.
A. &. J. C.
Excellent experience with informative and helpful staff. Our 4 year old granddaughter loved the whole thing and so did we!
I. C.
Was nice to see all the animals. Its a bit early in the year to see lots of butterfly's. But there were a few pretty ones
C. V.
A bit difficult to gauge at the moment as lots of refurbishment is going on, hopefully it will be lovely when it's finally finished, also hope that there are still small shops.
G. E.
Much bigger than we expected. Great for the. Kids with farm animals to feed as well as meerkats and otters. A great day out.
J. N.
A fun day out especially if you catch feeding time. The place could do with a little bit of modernising though.
F. G.
Nice place but need to be looked after , especially the animals area(butterfly's birds etc)
J. T.
Great place to bring the kids, loads to see and do (butterflies, feeding the animals, soft play).
S. M.
Lovely place to visit no matter what age you are. A bit on the expensive side though for the length of time you'll be in there (30-60 mins)
A. O.
Granddaughter loved it. Liked the fish the best..no soft play area. Good value for money.
T. B.
What a wonderful hidden treasure. Lots to see and plenty of hans on time with majority of the animals. Staff very helpful and knowledgable.
S. C.
Reasonably priced café, clean and tidy. My 4yo loved the animals and the butterflies are a delight
E. P.
Happy to find this place. Bring your little one for a nice lesson of wild life and farming life as well. Toddler playing area as well
S. G.
Everything is in a logical place throughout the seasons. And the cafe where you can watch the butterflies whilst you dine is first class.
C. B.
Lovely place for hands on with animals, really good for children to get up close to and pet animals and to learn a bit about them.
M. M.
Lots to see and do. Nice to be able to get up close to the animals. Loved the butterfly enclosure.
J. R.

J. M.
Nice friendly staff, great place for children to get to see animals up close and feed them.
K. G.
It has something for everyone, butterflies, sheep, goats, donkeys, otters etc lots of craft shops and a good cafeteria.
M.
Bit of a let down in the butterfly section in the morning went back later after having something to eat It had improved as the building had warmed up . But only due to our side temps.
