My wife and I had breakfast for the first time this morning at the 'Longholme Cafe'. We were very impressed by the overall set up, with seating outside and in. They are definitely covid friendly, providing overhead patio heaters and blankets to keep you warm if you wish to use them. The service given was attentive and informal without being overbearing. I ordered the 'Longholme Hash' which was tasty and perfectly seasoned. My wife ordered the brioche bun with a free range egg and smoked bacon, which she enjoyed and said was very tasty. Having tried and been impressed with the overall package at the Longholme Cafe, we shall certainly return.

This was the perfect place to have a lunch date with my fiance. We got to sit on the Great Ouse, listening music while watching the water fowl. The food was delicious, the only let down is the waiting time.

Had a lovely lunch here during the River Festival - delicious, fresh food and friendly service with a beautiful view! Perfect 😍

Best coffee for miles and reasonable prices.... does get very busy, but worth the wait. Lucky if you can get a "front line" seat and look.... the swans have babies to oow at!

Excellent location looking over the lake. Good coffee but rather slow service on the food especially.

Had a very nice lake side lunch with my cousin, had a bacon sandwich with a very tasty tomato-garlic spread, friendly service. Recommended.

A lovely little retreat with views over the lake and nearby river. There outdoor seating which is great in the summer and they have a separate takeaway section too. Service is pretty slow, even if you’re just getting a single drink, but the staff are friendly with a nice ‘family-run’ vibe. For a quick pit-stop in the area it’s nice.

What can I say, apart from amazing! A nice welcoming cafe is just what we needed on a sunny day, I had cheese chipotle eggs and they were nothing short of incredible from the silky yolk to the soft fluffy buns it was amazing… they are also dog friendly which is amazing for any dog walker, I highly recommend stopping here for a bite to eat.
Also to take the chill off I had a hot chocolate which was perfect for a cold or even sunny day out, perfect to compliment my food.

Fantastic cafe next to the river and boating lake in Bedford. Better than average food and drinks and great staff. Partially open air, with heaters if necessary. Can't recommend highly enough. PS Cakes are brill too

Really nice location and atmosphere. The food was of a good standard for the price and there is a good selection of drinks. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and the only thing from stopping this place getting the elusive 5 stars was the wait time, while still reasonable was a little longer than idea. I will be returning and would recommend this establishment to anyone visiting Bedford.
