Reviews of FRUIT SHOP

Great atmosphere and fresh tasty food. We had the Okonomiyaki and potato hash, and they were amazing. The baked desserts (make your day with a doughnut) and lemonade were also really nice.

Beautiful food and nice minimalist decor. A well run local establishment staffed by sound people.

Would happily spend time here again

Amazing selection of cakes and buns, we tried the miso cookie, blondies, salted caramel brownie and basque cheesecake and they were amazing! My favourite was the miso cookie crunchy outside and soft inside. Their coffee and hot chocolate were also gorgeous - if you are nearby you must call in for a coffee and something sweet.

Awesome place - brilliant menu, particularly for veggies. Great coffee and baked goods selection too. We’ll be back!

Just had the Patatas Bravas Hash abs an enjoyable large coffee. Best brunch in years, very friendly service too. Highly recommend The Fruit Shop, definitely be returning. 👏

flat white decent and service friendly but nearly £3 for a smallish donut with dough that was pretty tasteless, not quite worth it.

Found them today by chance on a pickup next door. Sound people and a nice new business. Good food and coffee!

Don't let the name fool you. This is a great little place that serves top class coffees, a superb bacon and egg roll and other assorted bits for a great breakfast or brunch type . Laid back vibe and awesome local produce...almost forgot to mention the tray bake and cakes ...also too notch

We stopped by for some lunch. Great to be able to eat outdoors. The croque-madame with mushroom was amazing - the flavours worked so well - best I’ve ever tasted. Mitch - who served us was very friendly and helpful. We will be back!

Great little Cafe.
Very friendly helpful staff.
I had the Croque Madame, a take on a ham or mushroom toastie with salad, but much better than that. I could tell that the ingredients were high quality, simple, well sourced and cooked really well. Nice touch was that the cheese was on the outside of the sourdough bread and so had browned just a bit giving a little extra punch.
Delicious. I loved it.
The kombucha was excellent too. 😀

Fruit Shop
I remembered this little café-right at the top of the Ormeau Road where it becomes the Saintfield Road-as a favourite local eatery of my Dad’s, so I was interested to note that in more recent times it had become the intriguingly titled “Fruit Shop”. And what a transformation! An adventurous, eclectic menu, a wide variety of hot and cold drinks, and indulgent pastry specials which are freshly baked every day on the premises.
We chose two vegan brunch options; Okonomiyaki- a japanese sweet potato and savoy cabbage pancake, with chinese chive miso’naise,
okonomiyaki sauce, pickled radish, cashew & blood orange furikake, smashed cucumber, and scallion salad, and Gado Gado Potato Hash-turmeric new potatoes, spicy roasted cashew sauce, crispy tofu, green beans, pickled vegetables, wilted greens, and charred broccolini. Both dishes were bursting with flavour, and fragrant with fresh herbs and earthy spices.
Although the portion sizes are generous and filling, the temptingly displayed array of pastries drew us back to the counter, and we chose a phenomenal looking dark chocolate covered Florentine, as big as a side-plate, and gluten-free & vegan to boot!! The menu changes frequently so next time you’re in South Belfast and looking for somewhere different to try, pop into Fruit Shop and see what’s on offer.

Incredible - was worried it would be a bit artsy fartsy for me since I didn’t understand half the ingredients on the list but the patatas bravas were gorgeous! And I had a lovely flat white , the guy serving us was very nice too! Can’t wait to go back
