Really amazing brunch. It’s a little out of the way if you’re in central Brighton or hove but totally worth it. The staff are so friendly and really helpful. Such great veggie and vegan options too. The spring pancakes and the vegan hash were so good the other day. Excellent coffee and iced tea too!

Located near Queen’s Park just a few minutes walk from Brighton Pier and away from the busy central Brighton. We reserved for 10AM the day before. Arrived a bit earlier but was welcomed then brought to our table after checking our booking. The café has a nice vibe, bright and clean. A few hanging plants and lovely little touches such as fresh flowers on the table. Make sure you have your mobile phone as menu is only available on their website except for drinks which is listed on the board. Call me old fashioned but I still prefer seeing hard copy of the menu. It’s part of the experience! By the way, pets are allowed but not your laptops. Tap water served. Ordered loose leaf green tea which was served right away. Then we ordered veggie and vegan breakfast. Food took nearly 30 mins. Not sure what happened as no explanation was given. Lovely presentation as you can see from the photos. Very tasty beans, mushrooms and toasts. Only one tiny sausage though (in my opinion) and tasted ok. Could be cooked a bit more. Overall, still 4 stars and would come back again.

Went here for a birthday brunch. The food is exceptionally good. Nice café and good selection for drinks and food. My only critism and I can't really blame the café owners or staff, it was really loud. Loud like a pub level. Which was a bit strange. Service was also good, I would really recommend this café. A reservation is needed at the weekends.

This is a fabulous food spot with great coffee and lovely pastries but the highlight was the hot food, which was fantastic. We had the full breakfast, chorizo hash and mushroom and truffle special on sourdough - one of the best brunches we’ve had. If you’re in Brighton, it has to be on the shortlist.

Dog friendly indoors and outdoors seating available, in a less touristy area. Really nice brunch menu. Full English not as expected, home made baked beans rather than your Heinz. Beautiful presntation, poached eggs rather than fried, sausage quality was ok,, good size portion, good coffee too. Loose leaf English breakfast tea. Chorizo hash was delicious, though there were gristle in the chorizo, otherwise it was filling, added chilli gave it a kick, lifted the dish. Would definitely go back and try the other things on the menu. Did notice the free ice cream for dog sign but wasn't offered this to the dog, maybe because it was a cooler day possibly. Was offered dog water bowl and small treat for dog.

We had breakfast here on a lovely Thursday morning, and ordered an English Breakfast + Fruit Pancakes. Both dishes were superb. The pancakes were my favourite. The fruit compote was delicious - great balance of sweetness and tartness. The pancakes were thick and soft and fluffy. Portions were also generous and of good value

Fantastic little place, definitely book in advance as we saw a couple of (bigger) groups turned away on a Friday morning but so worth it. I couldn’t decide between the veggie fry up and the eggs florentine so they very kindly brought me a pot of hollandaise sauce for my fry up. The coffee was great and the staff attentive and friendly without being overbearing. The brunch itself was a really nice size, not massive but the quality was amazing, with everything on the plate bringing something. Especially the seeds!

A victim of its own success. So busy you had better book for Saturday brunch. I suspect a struggle in kitchen to keep up so don't be in a rush. Well cooked tasty food but cold by the time it got to me. Staff apologetic and handled it well so overall left happy. No doubt next visit will get an extra star or two.

Came here on a beautiful and sunny Sunday. Place was crowded and we had to wait a bit but staff was super friendly and we waited warm on cosy in a nice room downstairs. Went for post pride brunch. Food was good, with reasonable portion sizes. We went for the full English and posh eggs which hit the spot. Service was very friendly even though it was rammed and queues out the door when we left, but still service with a smile. Pastries looked spectacular but didn’t have enough space to taste them. My wife and I had breakfast here Friday morning 24th September. What a treat the service was quick and efficient. The staff were friendly. Now for the food it was amazing! My wife is gluten,dairy,and egg free, but this was no problem. We both had really tasty meals which was full of flavour and just the right portion sizes. Really really great coffee here.. Good covid protocol with not much queuing. Well made cappuccino selection of milk alternatives. They are working their socks off here to make take away lunches, sandwiches, pastries and cakes and to keep going during lockdown. Good selection of vegan snacks here always a winner. Compost able coffee cups! Why do more places not use these!? Right on the corner near Queens Park. Get a snack and have a walk round the park during lockdown and support this great small business.

During lockdown we've enjoyed regular Friday Curry Club and other delicious finish at home food from Starfish & Coffee. Coffee and cake from here are always a winner. I ate breakfast here last Saturday and it was truly deserving of 5 stars! The staff kindly fit me in as a walk in even though they were very busy. Throughout my visit they were attentive & welcoming. Really nice little place. Great smoothie. Only issues was a slightly overdone poached egg, paired with a slightly underdone poached egg. Oh what cruel fortune. But in general really superb. The coffee really hit the spot - the sheer smell of that sweet sweet coffee allowed me to get into full flow after a troubled nights sleep. The generous good nature of the staff, with their twinkling, knowing smiles made it one of the best brunches I've had this calendar year.

We too often see cafes closing down at this location but Starfish have clearly got it right because they are always busy and never suffer on quality! Their vegan & veggie choices are absolutely delicious and don't make any sacrifices at all, yet their meaty meals which I saw being carried to other tables looked like top quality, good portioned and deliciously cooked food. Winning all round - you must visit!

I contacted this cafe when looking for a small local venue to host my baby shower and Tony and the team were 5* helpful right from the beginning. We worked together to put together a bespoke afternoon tea menu including a bubbly reception for a very reasonable cost and nothing was too much trouble. The shower was held this Sunday for 32 people - we were able to use the whole place after it closed to the public for the day at 3pm, it was laid out perfectly and the afternoon tea that they catered would easily match any famous London hotel for 5* quality and presentation ( & I should know as I am a professional concierge!). We had the MOST wonderful afternoon here and the atmosphere was perfect. If you are looking for a great place to have coffee, brunch or a special intimate event I thoroughly 100% recommend Starfish and Coffee :)

Our first trip to Starfish & Coffee today was awesome. Great atmosphere, delicious food and drinks and perfect for our three year old too. Everything is well thought out and considered, from the menu to the decor and even the music all add to the experience. I went for Chorizo eggs benedict, my partner had smashed avocado & feta on toast and our 3 year old had the Nutella and fruit pancakes. All made to perfection and all were as tasty as each other. Best coffee, lovely eats My favourite flavour of coffee, both decaf and full caf. Nicely presented in a proper latte and cappuccino. We also had a fruit croissant, although we could see the other choices being brought out including a delicious-looking breakfast. It's right next to the seaside gate of Queen's Park, which means greenery and lovely little birds alr chittering. It is next to a road, but the traffic is going slowly because of the corner so that isn't intrusive either for indoor seating or outdoor. Indoors can be a bit noisy with the coffee machine and people talking loudly, and the toilets (in the basement) are crean but there's no escaping the slightly damp smell from being underground. But certainly a café we'll visit again, and there's lots of choice in Brighton
