Reviews of Trading Post Coffee Roasters
R. P.
Amazing coffee! Must try the dirty chai latte. They have many roasts to choose from my personal favorite was the green monkey, packs a punch but is surprisingly smooth. It’s really cool to see them roasting the grounds as well. Like everything in the lanes it has a beautiful ambiance and I can see myself working from here a lot.
F. S.
Coffee roasters are institutions wherever location I travel to… Tradin Podt is no exception… wonderful coffee beans that you can choose from daily, a great menu and wonderful pastries and cake selections… do stop here at anytime of the day. Staff is friendly and cordial, highly recommended!
A. F.
The food was great, we had a very delicious brunch. We loved the coffee. However, the service was too slow, we've waited nearly half an hour for our food, when the food arrived our hot coffee went cold.
M. G.
Wonderful breakfast and the dirty chai latte is amazing. Fast service with a smile. Good layout with plenty of space & very clean. Toilets were well maintained (which is never unnoticed) 10/10 👌
C. H.
Stumbled across this delicious coffee & brunch place whilst in Brighton. Excellent value for money and the food was so good!! Also great decor! Would recommend getting a spot upstairs by the window 😎
C. T.
Busy, central brighton cafe.
Find myself coming back despite the service/ quality sometimes dipping, especially at peak times.
However has a good outdoor space if you can get a table in the summer.
Large upstairs seating area too with plenty of plug sockets.
A. H.
There are lots of fresh cakes and selection of coffee and drinks available, plenty of seating inside and out and there is a rooftop terrace
D. N.
Had a lovely latte and oat milk hot chocolate, service was a bit slow as they seemed to have lost our order so we had to chase after 15 minutes.
Food looked great and really wished he hadn’t already had breakfast when we dropped in , will def check out the breakfast when next in Brighton.
R. L. L.
Comfy place with good affordable food and tasty coffee. You order at the till and then take away a table number whilst you find a table. Can get quite busy during the weekends at peak time, but you’ll be given an approximate wait time by your server at the till.
F. T.
Delicious English breakfast, genuinely excellent coffee with a wide choice of beans and blends, nice vibes and cool decor. Great spot for brunch.
C. F.
Found after seeing other reviews. Food was amazing, great cosy atmosphere and staff very friendly and helpful.
Highly recommend
A. M.
Amazing to find a chain that understands coffee and has really well trained staff to deliver an excellent product. As well as great coffee, they have a wide selection of other drinks and interesting plates of food and pastries. Spacious interior and efficient service too.
E. N.
Despite being under staffed and clearly very busy the food was exceptional (meat, veg and vegan options) and the service was still very good. You can choose which coffee blend, milk and syrups you want giving you a wide choice of combinations which come beautifully served. A lot of the tables hadn't been cleared which gave limited seating options but with inside, outside and upstairs to choose from there were a few options. I would definately come back and recommend!
J. W.
Nice place in the heart of the Lanes in a great location. Good soya flat white and tasty breakfast. The fifth star would’ve been achieved if they’d been dog friendly
T. G.
Had an incredible brunch here, and will absolutely return when next in Brighton. Fantastic full veggie breakfast that more than bits the spot
M. C.
Great tasting coffee house in Brighton. Expect 20mins for coffee as lines are long. Rustic bare brick walls and copper lights.
V. T.
Amazing staff, great atmosphere and excellent coffee. I always go here for coffee. Good place to go to sit outside where you're not sat in the way of people traffic like a lot of the other coffee shops.
J. B.
Coffee here is first class.. I don't know what they do but their cappuccinos are incredible. They do a selection of vegan milks and also vegan snacks and cakes which is always a winner in Brighton. It's usually busy and you have to wait in line to be served but usually enough seating inside and out. Good selection of food and nice funky rustic Brighton vibe.
s. h.
Excellent service .
Fantastic toasties, tea and
coffee.
Favourite cafe and always visit when in Brighton
I. N.
Decent coffee, but q a bit disappointing for a roasting facility. Had the special Brighton Blend, the high was quite boring on a Flat white.
Salted caramel brownie was very average. Service was ok, and serving dishes are quite nice too along with the nice wide and sun bathed terrace.
D. L. C.
Reliable, super spacious coffee shop with good food options and friendly, helpful staff.
Just on the edge of The Lanes and just off North Street (it's visible from the corner of TK Maxx), Trading Post Coffee Roasters gets trade from trendy locals and visitors to the city. On a weekday, laptops are open, lunch ladies are having a gossip and local workers are getting lunch. It's open early, and I've even popped in for an emergency glass of milk for my kid before we travel elsewhere for the day.
The premises are large, and there's also loads of space to sit outside with some excellent people watching opportunities. The coffee and food are good enough to mean this place is rarely empty. Add in helpful staff who are often very patient and helpful with my faffy decision making, and it's understandable as to why this is established and popular.
I personally recommend the vegan mocha cake. It's devine, and in my humble opinion, there's only a handful of other chocolate cake options in the city that are just as good. It was wonderfully soft with rich and decadent dark coffee chocolate - yum! The buttercream was whippy and light, a perfect contrast. If you need an intense chocolate cake collision in your mouth, this is where to make that happen. I did think that nearly £5 for a slice of cake was certainly only a treat for my budget, but probably doable for many others. Worth it though, and it was so big I had to ask to take ⅓ of it home with me. Thank you to the team member that went and especially cut a new cake for me because the other offerings on display weren't floating my boat!
There's all the usual options with coffee, and, as usual with Brighton, excellent vegan options. Its the same with the sandwiches and lunches on display, and on the menu. I've not had more than coffee and cake here yet! It's definitely on the list for lunch one day.
Just a small thing... It can get noisy when busy. The high ceilings and resulting space mean that for those of us with challenges processing sound, it's less than ideal when even just half full. For me, this sort of thing is super important when looking at leisure options for me and my family.
K. G.
Lovely location and excellent coffee. The sausage roll was also very tasty and everything in the tables around seemed great. Unfortunately the lady at the till was a little judgemental towards what I ordered which is very unfortunate because other than that the place is great. You cannot judge if someone asks for regular milk in your coffee or if you want a regular sausage roll and not a vegan just as its not ok to judge if its the other way around.
f. h.
Good breakfast, good baked beans. Loads of choices, veggie and vegan friendly. Nice atmosphere, plenty of seating and space, and outdoor seating. Recommend the Nutella latte
Z. D.
One of the best breakfast/lunches ive ever had. Ordered the mapel bacon and pancakes with a side of scrambled eggs, cup of earl grey. The missus got eggs on sourdough and a mocca. The only down side is that it gets very busy, you may wait for 30mins or more for food. Cant wait to go back
L. B.
Lovely coffee and great attentive service from Ellie, Sussex uni student but great at her job and super friendly. Made all the difference to our enjoyment.
S. K.
Great Coffee and superb service from a young gentleman; Alex. He asked what type of blend I’d appreciate, and to my surprise 5 types. Great outdoor space and overall very happy. Will be coming back!
If you’d like a good coffee, brunch, stylish dish, and good service. Come to ‘trading post’.

Very spacious, in and out. Friendly efficient
staff. Loose tea. Terrific coffee. Fresh tasty
menu "local organic vegan & vegetarian'.
Licensed. Fantastic venue for any joyous
celebration. Sunny outside seating.
J. A.
This is the place to get coffee and breakfast in Brighton. The best tasting coffee, the most spacious, the most extensive menu.
D. N.
This place was big and spacious with a great atmosphere. I came here with my family on a busy Saturday and managed to snag the last table. The menu is quite varied and they made an excellent coffee. The only let down was my Rarebit which arrived soggy and tasteless. My husband’s egg Benedict however was very good.
A. M.
Very nice place. Breakfasts are delicious. English b/fast is served with sourdough bread, contrary to most of the breakfast places that use ordinary toast bread. Orange juice is freshly squeezed. My friend though was very disappointed with the size of their pancakes - they are barely the size of the kids' meal.
They also have a retail area for their coffee, which can be purchased as wholesale. Large seating area and toilets upstairs.
This place is also opened for parties (my workplace organised a Christmas party there) for about 70 people. They serve alcohol.
M. I. M. S.
Since 2019.. whenever I come to Brighton, I come here for a cup of coffee. This time, tried oat milk decaf latte- it was just amazing. Lovely atmosphere, friendly staff.. always recommend. Cheers!
R. D.
One of the best coffees in Brighton. You can buy coffee too. The benedict eggs with truffle are just amazing. The staff is super friendly. The place is clean and super comfortable. 2 floors where you have fews sofas too. The chai latte for me one of the best in Brighton. If is sunny day you can enjoy your coffee in the terrace and usually in the corner of the street enjoy music life with spontaneous musicians. Love this place!!!
A. B.
Incredible breakfasts and coffee! I had the full English which was incredible and very filling, the baked beans were a definite highlight! The coffee was amazing quality too. I had a mocha which was great and not too sweet!
H. P.
Lovely cafe, with the most attentive waitress ever (think she said her name was cosima)
P. G.
Delicious food, chilled atmosphere, rustic decor. I enjoyed a pot of tea and an almond croissant :-)
A. A.
Really nice coffee and food, but disappointed by some of the staff who act a bit like "i'm too cool to serve you". Overall, it's a good place for studying and working (they don't have wi-fi, but my mobile data worked well inside the building, even in the back of the building).
M. D.
Fantastic breakfast spot! Visited here on Saturday for breakfast and coffee. The coffee was a delight and the breakfast was tasty (a good portion too!). Definitely recommend if you're in the area.
L. F.
Great coffee, brunch was incredible, friendly barista who was happy to make recommendations on the coffee roasts available, atmosphere was spot on.
Gutted we don't live locally as this place would be the perfect local coffee shop!
D. “.
Don't judge a book by its cover! The eggs royale which looked gorgeous on arrival disappointed on taste. The salmon was tasteless (who is your supplier) and the toast was cut so thin it ended up being more like a cracker. The upside of the morning was the delicious coffee.
D. C.
Beautiful location, nice coffee, and the waitress that looks like Diana is a sweetheart!
Greetings from Italy 🌟💛🧉
a. l.
Had the avocado smash , it was lovely. And the Nutella latte was great too.
C. B.
It's a great place to meet with friends and have good food and coffee. It's also great if you want to relax or do some work. I have just recently discovered this place and now it's my go to place for coffee and brunch.
B. R.
Food took a while to arrive but worth the wait. Drinks were lovely
L. H.
Lovely staff and atmosphere, breakfast was tasty and very accommodating to people with dietary requirements. Will definitely go here again when visiting Brighton.
M. G.
Came here for brunch, food was delicious and device was good.
Would definitely come again next time I'm in Brighton
J. C.
Excellent coffee and it is nice and cosy upstairs if required. Cakes not too sweet!
J. H.
Superb coffee. Cakes look delicious. I had a gluten free almond Bakewell which was divine. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Plenty of seating and the place is clean and tidy.
I. L.
Excellent all round! The food is delicious and the coffee even better! Such a variety that accommodates everyone
P. h.
Really nice spot for a breakfast stop! Food was lovely and a great cup of coffee
E. A. G.
Incredible service! The food here was delicious, but the friendliness and helpfulness of the staff was the real stand out.
D. N.
Amazing coffee, great service, delicious food with a really cool vibe. A must for breakfast.
R. C.
Decent cup of coffee, decent almond pastry. Didn’t spent much time inside but the outdoor area is quite nice and has heated lamps. Dinged them a star from my usual 4 star rating because their WiFi was nonexistent outdoors.
d.
really lovely staff, great location and fantastic tea!
M. L.
I popped into the coffee shop before a meeting and the staff are extremely friendly. The service was great and coffee tasted Fab! I sat by the window watching the morning trade. The lighting is very art deco which I loved. Great pit stop.
H. J.
Great outdoor seating area, with sunshine. Had a lovely brunch. Was served quickly despite it seeming quite busy.
D. B.
What a lovely place to meet and chill out. Treated myself to the full English breakfast and what s treat it was. Lovely selection of coffees and a good vegiterian selection as well.
K. D.
The coffee and classic rarebit were delicious. Unfortunately, we couldn't finish the rarebit as we had to dash to catch a bus. Would certainly recommend - but it is a very busy place. Leave plenty of time to appreciate the food!
C. W.
This is my go to favourite place every Saturday morning to get a very healthy and beautiful looking breakfast. Some of the best coffee in Brighton for sure in the staff is always warm and friendly!
One of the best items is their yogurt bowl.
J. T.
Really good place to have a drink in a Brighton central spot. The chai latte has an extra clove flavour but it's all right. Sandwiches are amazing.
A. G. B.
After leave a negative review i saw the replied from the management team I decided to go back again. I’m glad they did take on board what I had to say/concerns. Music problem is solved and with that feels much more relaxing. Before was played way too lowed and Also staff are much much better, tables still left bit longer than should unclean once the customers leave but no where as bad previously. Well done keep the good work up. And as alway have enjoyed your coffee by far you have the best coffee in Brighton. Thanks for serving a great coffee.
M. M.
Everytime I'm in town I'm popping in for a coffee and egg benedicts! Probably the best I have ever ate! Always bringing some friends with me as good places need to be discovered by more people.
No wonder they Always very busy! Surely see you soon ❤
B. C.
Best sausage roll ever! Love the mono loco coffee in a mocha!
J. J. S.
Truly excellent coffee I.M.O the best around. The whole experience decor, service I could not fault. The staff really helpful, nice folk. A good range of pasteries and savories. Nice relaxed ambience. I am definitely going back. I have reviewed my contribution of the Trading Post Coffee Roasters Brighton. I can only add one addional comment. The Green monkey flat white coffee is Sublime. I have not yet had brunch but what I have seen being served looks so tempting.
V. L.
Fabulous location, coffee and service.
Highly recommend trying one of the speciality coffee blends - will take your coffee experience to the next level.
Great portion sizes. Wide selection of dishes to suit kids, carnivores and vegans. My only suggestion if eating alfresco, watch for the albatross!
Will be back on our next visit to Brighton. Thank you for a wonderful breakfast experience on the first weekend of alfresco dining reopening.
G. P.
Nice coffee, love their Nutella latte especially. Lovely relaxed atmosphere too. Good for a quick coffee or a place to spend an afternoon with a good book.
D. T.
Friendly and efficient service, great fair trade coffee and teas. Breakfast juice comes in a massive glass. We had bacon sandwich and full English. Everything was delicious and made with top quality ingredients. Something for everyone, some great vegi and vegan options.
A. K.
Lovely place to have a coffee and read a book, but unfortunately they don’t have wi-fi to allow you to study or work.
S. Y.
I’d always go there for their pineapple, mango and passion fruit smoothie and their breakfast! Love the place
R. T.
Literally the BEST vegan (or any) brunch in Brighton. Best coffee i’ve had for ages. Amazing selection of brunch food - staff were so lovely - would come back every day! Slight wait for food but was in no rush so didnt mind at all!! Cant recommend enough!
J. H.
Very busy place but food and coffee are great. We've had halloumi baguettes and I have had an oat milk cappuccino. Yummy
A. H.
many yummy dishes to choose from. extensive classy cafe, with open airy feel, even though it was busy it had a calm atmosphere. I would love to come back and eat something else from menu. excellent.
S. J.
Perfect place for any time of day. Especially recommend the food though, I know it's a coffee place but never been disappointed!
P. C.
Smart coffee shop. Excellent sausage or veggie roll and tasty tray bakes. Busy and buzzing 👍
R. T.
Really yummy vegan food. Great customer service although they were busy. Only downside was that the coffee was burnt. Still, a great experience! Definitely reccomend. :)
M. R.
Great coffee, veggie breakfast really nice and came with gluten free bread on request.
M. H.
Coffee is good. Good atmosphere and a lovely cafe. Menu filled with typical sandwiches. My slice was quite hard and seemed to overnight...
ف. ا.
Really the best coffee in Brighton in terms of coffee quality.. last night I had the best coffee since arriving in Brighton about a month ago ..
Also the staff member who received the order yesterday was tired and exhausted as the work time was about to end, but he nevertheless treated us with a smile and a 😍warm welcome
P. C.
Capitalising off the size of the space they've got and costing a lot for average coffee, the staff are usually great but in my opinion for what you pay, and definitely on the extras on food or drinks menu, it's catching you out. You don't have to walk a small bit further for better all round.
f. c.
Increasing amounts of freeloaders. The other night I was there, the tables around me, the girl bought a drink, the boys with her ate their own food. Another table, someone came and grabbed a table, typed away, gained a free charge up, took a video call and drank their own drink.
Sunday's (later) gets full of people on laptops using it as a public space rather than a cafe, this is probably the day tables need splitting to avoid one laptop user to 4-seater spaces.
The problem the cafe has now is paying customers at times find it hard to get a table and sit down. The challenges of modern life!
The smoke free tables outside the entrance, they tried but customers sat at them and smoked, even after the cafe tried gaint stickers on the top of two tables, smoking customers still ignored. It's got to be a fight for them. Paying customers and the ability to get in and out without breathing smoke from someone else will hopefully get priority. I do really like this place but as a customer need the other stuff tackling with really.
R. A.
Friendly staff.
Great coffee and food - freshly made and tasty.
Excellent atmosphere.
J. 1.
I love this place. Great coffee and food all in a central location.
A. K.
Very well made coffee of high standard roasted beans. Delicious toastie too. Bread, ham and cheese all tasted great. Totally recommended café!
D. S.
Bit sceptical spending £10 on a full breakfast as there was a lot of "ethically sourced" and "organic" blarb. So was ready to be disappointed by a pretentious and annoying meal.
I was wrong. It was really scrumptious and plentiful enough. Could have done with a mug of tea rather than a dainty cup+pot but that's just me. My 3 co-breakfastees all agreed it was really very good. The server was a bit ditzy/hippy but lovely enough that you forgive it. She forgot the cutlery but put that right quickly with a smile and a joke once it was pointed out.
Cumberland ring with scrambled egg on sourdough bread was my favourite part of the combo.
M. K.
It's in a very central place in town, and has nice coffee. that's it. The food is over priced and the cakes are dry. The last time I visited the floor, chairs and table all could have done with a good scrub.
L. W.
Had breakfast here two days in a row whilst staying at the premier Inn central. Really good choice, friendly service and reasonable price. Lots of veggie options. Fantastic coffee of course.
B. N.
Brilliant coffee and service. 5 different blends of coffee. Black pearl is perfect.
A. G.
Amazing place with very tasty food. My husband and I love a good cup of coffee and this place is definitely taking pride in their coffee. They roast their coffee beans directly in their shop.
We had delicious breakfast and came back for yummy cakes another day.
s. s.
Lovely coffee, great croissant to.
M. K.
We went there few weeks ago and had full English veggie breakfast, cakes and coffee, it was great
N. V.
The coffee is really good and the place is nice. I'd add another star if the pastry was good! Guys please bring give us good bakery! The croissants and pain au chocolate (without the chocolate) are not fresh and they look kinda soggy!
W. W.
Definitely the best coffee in Brighton! Amazing cold brew and a huge variety of vegan cakes. Very cosy and pretty space + many tables outside. I always go there when I'm in Brighton and you should too. Especially that baristas are cool and chatty!
P. M.
Coffee was excellent and the food was also as good. Only issue was the very slow service (and it wasn't busy at all - probably around !!). It took around 15 minutes from ordering for coffees to arrive and 40 minutes for the croque monsieur and avocado smash to arrive.
A. H.
This is my favourite coffee cafe in Brighton. It's in a fantastic location and offers tasty snacks and a wide array of diary milk alternatives (oat, almond etc). In particular, the chai latte here is delicious but I also love the cappuccinos.
It does get very busy here at times...so make sure you bear that in mind and try visiting at non peak times so that you get the most comfortable seats (probably the couches on the top floor).
R. B.
Great coffee and really tasty rarebits. They're enormous and satisfy even the biggest appetite.
n.
Always a pleasure tasting their coffee and delicious treats
D. B.
Great coffee, cakes and light snacks. Unfortunately lets paying customers down a bit by allowing people with laptops to block up tables for long periods of time.
R. C. (.
Just had the Avocado Smash here - tasted as good as it looked. Looking forward to trying other food on the menu!
s. b.
I like how this coffee shop works, with the pick your own coffee bean and style. Unfortunately lots of people seem to camp out here with their laptops, so it can be hard to get a seat, especially in the window areas.
I. R.
It's a lovely concept with brilliant coffee and tasty brunches. It's a bit on the pricey side and was very busy when I went on s Thursday lunchtime. Annoyingly there were loads of people who had finished their drinks just sitting with their laptops taking up space when others couldn't get seats.
B. G.
Amazing coffee. Laid back vibe and plenty of choice. You get to chose your blend of coffee and if you're taking some tasty beans home you can have fresh roast beans ground to suit your preferred brewing method. I can't recommend this place highly enough it's the perfect brew without the pretentious vibe
M. B.
Great coffee, lots of choice & vegan options. Nice place, good prices especially for the quality you get. Server confused our order slightly but sorted it soon after. Definitely recommend!
k. h.
One of the nicest coffee I have ever visited. Great tasting coffee and very nice staff. There was even a band playing down the road so that made the atmosphere great! Definitely going back
J. B.
Great coffee and food selection. Breakfast options are particularly good and there’s lots of indoor and outdoor seating available. Alcohol also available. Definitely recommend if you are in Brighton searching for caffeine
D. H.
Easily one of the best cafes in Brighton, and it's not like it doesn't have tough competition. A cool and welcoming place, the coffee is great, the staff are friendly and the seating, including curb side tables, is plentiful. A great place to get breakfast or lunch, not least for the ample vegetarian/vegan options. Check it out.
T. O.
Really good coffee. Wasn't crazy about the eggs Benedict. Other food looked really nice so wouldn't definitely give the food another go.
H. M.
Great place for more than just coffee, better plan ahead though because they can be BUSY.
I. C.
Love the coffee they serve here. Always has unique and interesting flavours. Atmosphere is nice and chilled out, great for those studying or doing work. Haven’t had savoury food but looks really tasty!
G. J.
Best coffee in town. I'm local and Brighton is famously known for its coffee places. Trying hundreds of blends and atmospheres I can tell that Trading Post has it all. Amazing blends what you can choose from, fresh food from vegan to gluten free, big space for families too. I saw a lot of students studying here. My favorite is the oat milk latte from the green monkey blend. Awesome 👨🎤
N. C.
Had a lovely coffee and millionaire shortbread here. Very busy at times, and we had to wait a while for the coffee to come but that wasn't an issue for us - slightly disappointed at the amount of tables taken up by people on laptops with seemingly no food/drink, especially at peak times while we had to stand for a while before getting a stool by the window, but not a lot the owners can do about this.
All in all, great coffee and a snack
A. M.
Amazing coffee and cafe perfect for a cup and relax
J. W.
It was ok. Busy weekend, very long wait for food (which we were warned of when we ordered), the simple brunch was just ok not perfect. We enjoyed the sun.
P.
My favourite cafe in brighton. Lots of vegan and vegetarian options, as well as really good coffee and hot chocolate. Super cosy and relaxed atmosphere. Can get very busy as it's so popular. Also can be slightly on the pricey side but it's worth the money.
E. P.
Very good coffee and excellent covid-19 protocols in place. Great vibe too and the cakes looked fantastic (though didn’t sample them)
P. H.
Delicious brunch and coffee! I come here with my parents every time they visit, we absolutely love the avocado, feta and poached egg on sour dough. Last time we visited, the team at the Trading Post went above and beyond with their customer service when I realised after I had ordered that I couldn't eat what I had ordered. They changed it for me even after they had already started cooking, and even though it was my mistake. Top notch! Can't wait to go again.
G. U.
Spacious place with on of a kind coffee;
We went to Trading Post Coffee Roaster yesterday. The service is slow. We waited for a long time while giving the order. The waitress was so unfriendly, isn't professional. When we sat, the table was very dirty. The shop smells like freshly roasted coffee, because they've got a coffee roastary inside. The atmosphere was pleasant. The Coffee shop is very modern and trendy, music was very good. We drank an unique Nutella Latte that we had never tried before. It was hot, delicious and not to sweet for us . The price isn't really cheap but it's OK for this lovely place. We recommend this Coffee shop.
S. (.
Great coffee shop, great location in central Brighton. They have a wide selection of coffees available, all the ones I have tried so far are delicious. It's also a great space to work if you work from home or are a freelancer, with two floors, wifi and plenty of plug sockets for this purpose. Food is served until 3pm with a range of breakfasts and lunches. Lovely staff too, hopefully a permanent fixture in Brighton!
H. N.
Gluten free carrot cake was very dry and tasted powdery. The coffee was tasty but not hot enough. Good place to meet friends, nice atmosphere.
W. K.
Slightly snotty and argumentative staff. Admittedly there was some confusion over takeaway cup sizes when I made a joke about them. There’s no need to unfriendly though! Coffee’s ok, better than Costa, not as good as Small Batch. Kinda lacks flavour. Great location. Sat outside and watched Brighton waking up....nice!
M.
Had an Americano made on 'Grand Espresso' beans, and it was the best coffee I've had outside of Sweden; these guys know their stuff. Also had the chocolate fruit and nut bar and it was just as delicious as I'd hoped for. Great place, a definite re-visit.
A. B.
Excellent Vegan breakfast and vegan rarebit for lunch.
J. S.
Great pancakes! And I've eaten a whole lot of pancakes in my time. Had a strawberry and coconut smoothie too and enjoyed sitting out in the sun. Would definitely recommend, there is a great atmosphere and loads of comfy places to sit inside too :)

Originally went in here for the first time just over a week ago. I was in there for an interview (for another venue) and the staff made me so welcome.
The general atmosphere of the place is one of professionals and tourists alike, all down for a good cup of coffee. They even have their own roaster in house which they use for small batches of coffee beans. I couldn't be more pleased with an independent coffee shop.
K. D.
Definitely my favorite coffee shop in Brighton. Great treats, great atmosphere, and most importantly great coffee.
E. D.
One of my favourite places to go for brunch, their food is incredible with lots of vegan options. Coffee is delicious, I always go for the mono loco. It's a great place to work upstairs too.
L. S.
Great coffee, ambience and food but the wait for coffee is too long (typically 10-15 minutes)
M. S.
My first and last point of call for coffee.
This coffee shop café serves a variety of different blends of roasted coffee for you to enjoy sitting in, take away or take home in the form ground coffee for your own delight in the comfort of your own home.
They serve food, ranging from vegan cake options to delicious BLT baguettes with little extra special ingredients to make it their own and for your up most pleasure in consumption.
Seats and sofas flowing across two floors and out onto the pedestrianised street. So you can lounge in the sofas upstairs being the next wordsmith writing their best seller or meet a friend or special someone over a small table and coffee downstairs. But you can't beet in the fresh winter days being wrapped up outside watching the lively Brighton metropolitan center pass you by in absolute bliss while the aromas of your freshly ground beverage woft around you.
Great coffee. Lovely atmosphere. My first and last point for coffee.
S. J.
This is a fantastic coffee shop! It is beautifully laid out, has very friendly and hospitable staff, provides delicious food and quality coffee. What more can one ask for? The outside seating area, too, is excellent to utilise on a sunny day.
C. C.
Excellent customer service great food also
P. B.
I had a lovely iced latte and an almond cake both delicious. Nice place and service!! Away from the crowd!
M. V.
The staff were great, and food was delicious.
They do need to rethink their table number system, that little bucket with a number on it is not very visible and staff are roaming around with plates for ages.
L. R.
This place has all the features of a specialty coffee spot but unfortunately didn’t deliver the goods! The coffee was bitter rather than flavoursome. Full and veggie breakfasts were underwhelming and overpriced. Not the worst place I’ve been in Brighton, but not one I’ll go back to in a hurry.
A. A.
One of my go to coffee shops for a quality treat and tea. Always have fantastic eats and a wide range of tea options. Lots of seating inside and outside and the staff Is always very friendly. Love coming here every time.
P. P.
I like coffee. I am in the coffee business. The flat white with oat milk I had here was probably the best coffee I've ever had. Perfect.
The vegan breakfast was also very good. Superb.
D. J.
If you don't mind waiting +30min, the food is great :)
K. N.
There was a mix up with my online subscription but their Operations Manager apologised profusely and just received another email from the Head of Wholesale confirming shipment of my order. Now that is what I call customer service. Excellent coffee as well!!
R. M.
Pretty good range of coffees, however there were a couple of steps which made it difficult to bring the pushchair inside. Would have been a nice option to have a pour-over coffee, eg V60, Kalita Wave or Chemex. Also the country of origin on the board would be good as well. Overall a good, relaxed environment with excellent staff
D. A.
The Vegan Chilli I had was tasty but very small for £9.50...staff pleasant...table service would have been good long queues
D. D.
Fabulous service, fantastic coffee selection and great food.
This place is buzzing and you may find at that there is a bit of a mission to find a seat but well worth the effort.
Reasonable prices for this sort of quality too.
N. A.
Great coffee and lovely seating area. Also, the chance to purchase their lovely coffee beans! I recommend 'Green Monkey'. Jolly good stuff!
K. T.
Nice place to sit down and have a coffee. Healthy and good food as well. Very good customer service.
V. C.
Vegan friendly.
Non dairy milk options - soy, oat, almond and coconut + vegan hot chocolate.
Different coffee blends and good selection of teas.
Good for working from laptop but gets busy
S. B.
Great coffee and very relaxing.
x.
One of the best in Brighton. The staff are brilliant and the coffee is amazing. There should always be a seat available even if it's small as there is a lot of room! If you have the time, go.
A. D.
Great place to have a meeting or work. Lots of places to sit, very nice decor. Sadly the coffee is not as special as I had hoped, when compared with the strong competition of downtown Brighton.
T. T.
Scored a 7 on the 'How many people are sitting working on a MacBook' scale. I ordered a cappuccino and was given a flat white because they must have thought I'd made a mistake ordering such an outdated coffee. Certainly a place for hipsters to drink their coffee before it's cool.
A. W.
Had breakfast here. Coffee was excellent, and the food was well cooked, very well presented and flavoursome. The service was also very good and they accommodated my milk allergy very professionally.
M. F.
Delicious food but quite expensive so is a treat. to be honest most cafes around there are expensive though. Have yummy vegan options and non vegan options and lovely smoothies
D. A.
Excellent coffee and great display of cakes. Wonderful big space, indoors and out. Perfect, for what it is, though I prefer small and intimate, I still love it here.
R. N.
Absolutely love this coffee shop, one of my favourites in Brighton. Great option for people of different dietary requirements include a range of non dairy milks and food catering for all.
c. d.
As I’m super fussy about my coffee and always looking for a cool vibe ... I discovered this place in ship street early in the year and get my oat flat white daily ... I can’t say enough great things ..vegan breakfast .. best coffee in town .. music always cool great vibes ... most of all staff are super friendly and consistent... love having my morning chat with Stefan , who is super nice and makes a great flat white .. my day is always off to a good start after a visit here .. can’t recommend enough..🌈❤️🌈
R. D.
The best! Coffee, Vegan dishes & pastries. Comfortable seating & relaxed environment (perfect for a group or just your laptop). Friendly staff tops it all up.
A. T.
Had the vegan chilli which was very nice but such a small portion and not warm enough.
c.
Really nice coffee selection and good selection of cakes, snacks and lunches. Always very busy but the service is quick and effecient.
R. W.
Really nice coffee and the best vegan cakes!
S. R.
This place have a nice decoration and the staff is great!!.. But I came here for the coffee.. They had a good combinations but how could be possible to have all good things and they did an over extraction on both coffee with ultra hot steamed milk.. Please always control the expresso recipe and extraction also Milk is important as well
P. k.
Great place, coffee is fantastic different choice of blends, lots of seats up, down or outside and a great vibe inside. Gluten free bakewell tart amazing.
Z. P.
Great coffee, and can choose between multiple blends. Only thing is like it more lighter roasts!
D. D.
Coffee is quite good. Plenty of seating space upstairs too. Would LOVE if there had been a pour over option (would have been willing to pay the extra and wait too)
M. G.
Great coffee and lovely atmosphere. Their food is really good too but it gets very busy on a weekend so get in early.
C. B.
Hands down best eggs benidict!
H. B.
Ive loved this place for the last year. Really nice service and food is amazing. Most staff members are really nice but there was one today that was rude and had a bit of an attitude. I hope he doesnt make anyone else feel the way i felt today. Either way, i still will go to this place because i love it and ill just avoid him!
d. c.
Just the loveliest café, so relaxing here, with great options for very acceptable prices, great staff, and nice indoor and outdoor seating. Well worth a visit
J. M. P. B.
It has amazing coffees whit delicious cakes. The place is rustic and big, a good coffee shop to go while you visit Brighton.
A. S.
Great coffee and plenty of outdoor seating.
J. H.
Not sure what the food tastes like as have been queuing to order for over 10 minutes - can't be hard to do table service can it, rather than getting 20 tables to all order at the counter - strange
D. A.
Large comfy coffee shop with plenty of choice and quieter seating upstairs.
H. A.
The hype is just.. Excellent coffee, with at least 4 different variety of beans on offer!), unlimited WiFi, plug sockets, massive (and tasteful) interior. Highly recommended.
M. S.
Lovely food, great coffee, central location - not much not to like!
J. F.
Nice decor, free WiFi. Very much a writer's cafe. Great selection of coffee and tea. Good range of milk alternatives available too. Staff very friendly.
L. M.
Warm sanctuary from the cold, good price, great coffee! The staff actually know how to extract the coffee properly. Thank you for such a nice experience! I'll be back!
K. N.
Decent espresso, shame that an in-house roastery only sells blends instead of single origin, sort of misses the point imo
I. G.
One 9f the best coffee places in Brighton. However it is so busy you don't really understand how that many people can stay in one place. But it worse it if u like coffee
J. B.
Dirty table, staff only half wearing masks, decent food and coffee tho
A. S.
Good coffee and friendly staff. It's usually very packed, so I recommend going around an off peak hour or getting take away coffee.
J. G.
Just had brunch here. Seriously seriously good food and coffee. Plenty of space inside yet really cosy. I had avocado smashery thingy with lime chilli poached eggs, feta. Great coffee too
L. K.
I went in the mornings on Sat and Sundays; there's space upstairs to work quietly (at least until it starts getting busier near lunch), with lots of power sockets for charging. Good coffee too.
A. S.
Really nice café offering vegan and a good selection of coffees. Perfect location and the got a cozy and urban style. I definitely recommend it
D. M.
Great place to work.
Staff is friendly.
Excellent coffee and food with fulfilling portions. Good pastries but cakes arent usually good.
a. v. e.
Great coffee (obviously!) and serving a good selection of vegetarian and vegan food as well. You order and pay upfront and they bring you the food and drinks when ready.
R. H.
Coffee (and hot chocolate) done well! Nice environment, relaxed but busy! Obviously very popular.
N. B.
Great place to grab a coffee and work! Great for students. Friendly staff and no one will bother you no matter how long you stay.
A. C.
We had great breakfast here. Vegan, vegetarian and meaty options. Great range of tea and it has a nice atmosphere went there a couple of times.
B. D.
Great place to meet with good coffee, sandwiches and breakfast. Right in the centre of Brighton.
P. B. 7.
Popped in during The Great Escape and can only say it was a great cup of coffee 👍
A. C.
I come here every time im around town . For Coffee it's fealy priced and a good atmosphere unlike all the other coffee chains in Brighton
S. T.
Great coffee, great seating options, great ambience, vegan options. Hot chocolate slightly sub par, but you can't have everything
J. H.
Oh my gosh those cheese toasties!
After a long cold walk around the town christmas shopping, sitting down and having a pot of tea and a cheese toastie was the stuff that dream are made of. I will be returning for another visit soon!
B. W.
Best coffee in Brighton. Fact.
(Disclaimer: I've not tried all of its 6,423 coffee shops but this is so good that I wouldn't bother.)
A. S.
A busy coffee shop and coffee roaster in the heart of Brighton. Always very busy and when I am in tend to pick up a bag or two of the roasted coffee for my younger brother who loves it.
P. B.
Having forgotten to bring our coffees, I had to ask them where they were. They immediately apologised and promptly brought them together with 2 cards for free coffee. Very impressed
S. L.
Possibly the best coffee house I've ever visited; lovely staff, clean space with cosy interior, and amazing coffee - I cannot fault them
J. T.
We had soo much fun. The food is great and the staff are amazing friendly and so hardworking... please leave tips for these great group of people who work here.

B. B.
Great position central no traffic , opposite Ivy restaurant, Staff friendly, strong coffee, two floors light and airy beautiful building...lots of outside seating for warm sunny days, might need some Sun/rain protection, heaters, for alfresco 365...
s. f.
Brilliant for a coffee and a quick bite, but do seem to have a lot of student's upstairs with ipads taking up a lot of space with their feet on the seating and single coffees that last for hrs.
M. W.
Great coffee and great service
v.
My favourite place when I need to take a break from my daily routine. Great coffee and good food with vegan options as well.

l. b.
Love sitting outside here and watching the world go by even in the winter with their heaters going. Coffee is really nicely roasted and full of flavour
J.
Nice coffee but hard to find a table - lots of people just setting up office camp for the day / and not actually buying anything 🤷🏻♂️
L. A.
Very Cousy and cool atmosphere. Quick and friendly service. The coffee is ok. The bbq chicken and falafel sandwiches are delicious.
M. B.
