This is the best Italian bakery in St James Street. They have a very large variety of fresh savoury and sweet goods. The quality is excellent. You will definitely find something to suit your taste. In summer, they have outdoor seating with a lovely view of the town. Their staff are also very friendly and courteous. I can’t recommend this place enough.

It is such a lovely Italian place. Serves fresh baked pizza 🍕 and great Italian coffee. Every time I'm in Brighton I go there for breakfast or quick snack. Food is always lovely. Pizza there reminds me pizza we had in Rome. Would definitely recommend everyone to visit this place, if not for food at least have a look at their pizza display 😍😍😍🍕🍕

Delicious Italian patisserie in Brighton. We had beautiful Italian cornetti filled with crema pasticciera, pistacchio cream and nutella. Staffò is friendly and welcoming.

OMG, OMG! This place is AMAZING and it serves the most fabulous pastries and pizzas and coffee. Oh why do I have to wait until my visits to my daughter to experience such heavenly things to eat? Please, please open up a branch in Pembroke, so that the people of Wales can experience your ambrosial menu? Treat yourself and make a bee line for Vero Gusto and when you're tucking into a morsel of their delicious food, think of me!

Nice place, the food is decent. Though I wish there was a menu to read that's not up the wall, potentially with little descriptions, as I feel I'm missing out on some of the best stuff because I have no idea what to order! The server suggested this pistachio drink today, which I'd have had no idea about!

The place itself is welcoming. The assortments of desserts and savouries definitely draw you in. The staff at the time explained what each item is and what it contains, which showed some refreshing pride in Vero's produce. As for the food and drink: I absolutely loved the white chocolate (cioccolata bianca) I ordered. It was thick, creamy and very flavourful; a savoured indulgent treat. The pistachio cannoli, however, was a bit disappointing, mainly because the wafer was quite chewy and stale like it had been there for days. The bakery says everything's made fresh on the day, but given the plethora of baked goods they do have on display, I cast doubt on that. Also, I was given unwashed spoons for both my food and drink, one of which I had to clean with my alcohol rub before using for my dessert. The place could do with paying more attention to the finer details like that. Finally, when it came to splitting the bill between my party and me for a 3-for-£10 offer on the desserts, we were actually overcharged for it (£10.50). I'll revisit at some point, but I'll probably do the takeaway option instead.

Great food, atmosphere and service. Real Italian experience! The choice of food took my breath away. I recommend everything that I tried. Couldn't get enough so took some for take away as well. Moreover the staff is very helpful with getting to know your options. I would recommend it as a casual place to meet with a friend or family.

This is the best café I have ever been to in Brighton; there's so much to choose from and everything is so tasty, well made and presentable. The staff are very friendly and remember you, unlike the faceless chains. The atmosphere is really relaxed and welcoming. My new favourite place!

I was cycling the whole of Brighton to find a continental breakfast (ish) at 20:30 (jetlag, my hours were off). Been looking for a while until I found this rare gem! They have real european (italian) fruit juices, cakes , pastries, hot drinks, which I rate at above UK average. The interior is small and a bit cold sterile feel, but I and you can sit outside (two tables, it was summer). For the reader, at the time of writing they closed at 21:00, and as an evening dessert, I recommend the fruit or strawberry tarts and the pear chocolate cake, finished with a coffee or thea. I enjoyed this Mediterranean feel in a british street very much. Thank you! One for the good books when I visit Brighton again.

Lovely, clean and inviting place. I had a fresh croissant with tea. I didn't realise fresh croissaint can taste that good. Italian staff and Italian music in the background. Definitely coming back again :)

I've been there many times and the waitress is always rude, she never says Hi/good morning or thank you even if I repeat it... As well, I can never place my order properly because she is always trying to rush me. It is a shame honestly, because I really enjoy the products.

Nice little cafe up St James Street Brighton. Tasty snacks like mini pizza, pastries and cakes plus drinks real Italian feel and taste. Would go in again if in the area please help support your local cafes. As covid19 is making life difficult for businesses where you can go and rest and have nice snacks. You need to sign in their entry book if sitting down at a table to be traced if need be.

Very reasonable, fantastic coffee, and excellent value pizza by the slice with a huge range of toppings. No high chairs but very welcoming to children otherwise! They gave my daughter a biscuit and put together a special slice of pizza for her. :)

Quite love it at breakfast , after one of my nights working at the hospital . Friendly , efficient staff and delicious eats . Nice watching the customers come and go as well - St Jame's St is a veritable treasure trove for people - watching so I've always enjoyed my time here. Have never gone back at at any other time of the day so don't really know what it's like later in the day . The mornings are filled with freshly - baked goodies and fresh - faced goodness !

They bake their products - a wide variety of Italian fare, both sweet and savory, including even pizza - in an open kitchen visible to the cafe and customers. Pizza available by slice, and also daily special of pasta for lunch.
