Reviews of Albatross Café

hat brownie was definitely a perfect match with the coffee! We also loved the vibes here so much, with tons of greens and rattan & wooden furniture. It just make you feel like you are in nature!! The coffee - Flat White & Latte - were so nice with rich body and aroma. The brownie was not a very sweet one as it is made with peanut butter, and therefore a bit savory i will say, and we love it!!

Not bad coffee and decent food. My toastie arrived after half hour. Coffee size was a bit small so little overpriced. Most of the menu choices are vegan. The cafe is always busy. The decoration vintage cute but the chairs are really old and lumpy.
E. C.
Lovely little cafe, beautifully decorated. Tasty coffee and delicious cake, would recommend the peanut butter brownie and banana bread 😁

We managed to find a seat after a few attempts (place is very popular and not many seats are available). Worth the wait though: nice fresh food. Cosy cafè.
Staff could be more friendly.

Lost and Grounded beers in the chiller, and totally moorish grilled cheese in the kitchen. I enjoy the decor in here; no-nonsense concrete and plants with super stylish odd mid-century pieces, and when it's raining outside the windows get all steam up makes me feel all cosy and warm. Naughty cakes on the counter for the sweet tooth.

A lovely coffee place with such a cute interior! We haven’t tried any food but the coffee was good! Quite small for a latte though...
We went on Sunday around 2pm and it was actually busy, all the tables were taken.
F. K.
Delicious coffee, nice ambience. Highly recommended.
D. C.
Really enjoyed the food! The croissant cake is a must try.
E. C.
Great coffee, ambience and food! The crumpets in particular are always really well thought out, and it takes so much self control not to buy all of the beautiful handmade crockery from Jericho Studio Pottery they sometimes have available.
L. M.
Cute, casual, independent cafe bar serving cafe food and drink, plus a selection of cocktails. Friendly chilled atmosphere, with walls adorned with succulents.
The coffees are a bit small for me (and the particular Clifton coffee they serve here is a bit sour for my taste, though I approve of the 'local' sourcing) but the veggie cake was really tasty! I'll pop back to sample the cocktails on an evening :)
S. N.
Highly recommend to try their dirty chai! Delicious!
D. T. S.
Really quiet and relaxed atmosphere to chill out, enjoyed the chai latte (though I wish it was a bit bigger) and the cake cover was pretty nice but the cake itself a bit dry.
Staff really kind, go in if you looking for a place to chill out for a while.

Pros: Lovely decoration, cute crockery and food presentation, nice coffee, amazing pastries (vegan cinnamon roll was divine)
Cons: Chairs are really lumpy and old and gave me bad backache. Coffee sizes are a bit small. Had a goats cheese and chutney toastie and it was OK but a bit sickly sweet.

Has been my local favourite for a while but just had another great experience there so time for a review - the coffee is great, food is always delicious with good vegan options, and the staff are always lovely. Generally just a lovely atmosphere and gorgeous decor etc.
E. A.
Lovely little café with lots of plants and generally nice decoration. Nice coffee and cakes, and the window seats are ideal for watching the world go by outside.
S. S.
Nice little cafe with great coffee and amazing cakes!!
L. M.
Great cafe, always have great baked goods. Love the crockery here that they serve their drinks and food in /on which they sometimes have on sale in batches. Staff are chatty and friendly, they do great coffee!
M. H.
Excellent coffee, friendly staff, amazing plants / decor and the clementine & almond cake we had was unreal. Would definitely go again!

I loved this place. It's cosy, the staffs is great, the food is delicious... And I loved the overall atmosphere of this cafe.
F. A.
Delicious cakes and a congenial, relaxed atmosphere. A good place to meet friends at the Eastern end of North St, with several tables outside which help in current circumstances. Rather weak tea though!

A lovely coffee shop in a lovely part of Bristol.
You are pretty spoilt for choice in terms of trendy coffee shops in Bedminster, however, you won't regret a visit here. Beautifully made coffee in lovely crockery, served in a chill environment, surrounded by amazing plants.
Didn't eat, but saw some lovely looking pastries and nibbles.
A. W.
Beautifully decorated with unique features, this cafe is highly commendable! I love all the plants growing everywhere, the neon lights give the place a funky feeling, and homemade pottery. The coffee is excellent and reasonably priced. They also serve some alcoholic drinks should you fancy that!
G. K.
A lovely run Cafe welcoming local residents who thrive on community support. Thank you for being there and making a difference to those who enjoy your lovely cafe and friendly approach.

Okay coffee, good music and nice vibe. Staff were friendly. Love their crockery!!
K. H.
Absolutely love this place it's one of my favourite places to go on north street. The espresso martinis are AMAZING, as are all the drinks, served in the most gorgeous pottery or vintage glasses. This place has a really 'Berlin' type vibe which I just love. Staff are always friendly and helpful and I love the big open windows - even more so when it's cold and wet outside and it's all warm and steamed up indoors! Lush place.
C. C.
A lovely addition to bristol's thriving coffee scene, this beautiful space invites you to linger amongst the plants and an elegant jumble of well curated vintage furniture and beautiful ceramics handmade by the owner's mum! The coffee is always excellent, staff are friendly and the small food menu looks delectable though i have yet to sample it. I look forward to enjoying a cocktail here one evening soon.
D. H.
Friendly staff, vegan coffee that tasted amazing, and even better yet, vegan croissant! Seriously sold on this place after a single visit
M. S.
Best community cafe in the area. Exquisite coffees and cakes and the staff and service is should be an example to other hospitalities. Brilliant place, lovely atmosphere.
J. S.
Best cafe on North Street. Surprised by the comments about portion sizes - it is great value I haven't ever left Albatross hungry! The homemade beans on toast is awesome and the banana bread is mighty fine.
N. W.
Lovely setting with lots of plants and nice décor. The coffee is nice, including a cold brew. There is also a hot drink called a Montréal Fog, you can find out what this is for yourself. They offer a range of hot and cold food including an assortment of cakes. In the evenings they are open for cocktails including espresso martinis and negronis.
Service is friendly and they don't seem to mind there being children there, though the space isn't really designed for little ones.
They sell pottery from Jericho Studios which is really nice - though not cheap - and use this for lots of their service crockery and some of their plant pots.
Overall a great place to stop for refreshments on North At, certainly feels like the current trendiest place for coffee in South Bristol.
N. B.
Love the coffee in this tiny cafe just a few minutes walk from where we live, served in beautiful pottery. With its eclectic mix of furniture, light surroundings, and welcoming feel, this is a cafe we return to time and again.
E. M.
Lovely place, very cozy. The staff is really friendly and corteous and they have a good selection of food and drinks including vegan options and gluten free. Cakes are the best!

D. S.
Easily my favourite cafe in Bristol. Good unusual food, good cakes, good coffee! The staff always stop for a chat when it's quiet and I enjoy sitting in the bright, airy, green window with my dog. Please open all week!
S. B.
Recently opened and swiftly became a local favourite. A perfect place to go whether for morning, lunchtime or evening. Coffee, cakes, meals and cocktails are all outstanding, which is quite an achievement. For cocktails I highly recommend ordering a Negroni which comes with a sprig of rosemary; for anything else, order pretty much anything.
C. H.
Fantastic find. Had a lovely flat white and a friend which was delicious and gluten free. So nice to find a cafe which doesn't offer just a brownie option for GF people. Staff so accommodating, decor so inviting and atmosphere uber cool. Will be back
J. C.

A lovely new addition to North Street, incredibly unique interior decor and a great selection of coffee and cakes, probably some of the best in bristol in fact. Highly recommend a visit if you're looking for somewhere new and interesting in Bedminster.
