Reviews of Baristas Coffee Collective
H. F.
This is one of the coffee shops that I bookmarked for awhile and finally we are hereee~ We took away our latte and flat white and It was super awesome. Its a nutty blend with a very good aftertaste and balance! Definitely going to come more often!!
C.
We were staying in a nearby hotel and badly in need of a decent coffee on Saturday morning. A few minutes walk away we found Baristas. It had little tables outside, was set back from the main road, and had a good reputation. Two flat whites later, we had to agree. Very good coffee, at a perfect temperature (no volcanically hot milk here), and a warm welcome. Only wish we had been ready for breakfast - will definitely be trying the bacon sarnies next time we're in town. Totally applaud their decision not to open on a Sunday, but won't pretend not to be a little bit disappointed!
I. B.
Best coffee I’ve had in a long while. Beautifully textured milk. Awesome lever espresso machine. Nice, friendly, chatty owners. Baked goods nice too. Rustic decor. Good vibe. Must visit when in Bristol next.
M. L.
Recently visited this quirky wonderful place. The coffee was perfect. Very friendly polite team. Will definitely be going again. I recommend a Caramel Latte. The brownies waffles etc on show looked absolutely fabulous. Massive shout out to Emily, She makes a great coffee
J. B.
great coffee and a buzzing atmosphere for a Tuesday morning!
K. P.
Lovely coffee , lovely service , awesome coffee machine.
K. S.
I don't come to Bristol often, but when I do this is my treat. Great coffee, well served.
Definitely recommend stopping in if you are in the area.
P. L.
LOL I could not wait to eat my deluxe rice crispy cake, so here is my half eaten one...
Simple put the is an epic coffee shop, the likes of which Shoreditch wants to have, but sadly cannot afford to have any more.
Its cheap as chips and first class quality, paid nearly 50% more for a coffee and cake in Bath just this morning and it tasted half as good at that.
Super friendly to cyclists with nice outdoor benches to sit at.
H. S.
It says something about a coffee place when, despite being busy and clearly VERY popular, the staff nonetheless manage to be incredibly friendly and helpful, even to us dumb tourists. LOVE the "do-it-yourself" toast!!
M. S.
What a lovely warm welcome I received here, very good coffee I will definitely be back (Bristol's first Drinker doesn't always drink Cider), cheers UTG 😎
A. J.
I expected from the other reviews, and from the prices, to find a quality coffee shop but was disappointed. My coffee tasted burnt and bitter. Was redeemed by the cookie I bought on Impulse, tasted homemade but still too expensive for just a cookie
M. i.
Amazing coffee lovely staff, opening time are changing when ever I go, but we'll worth it!! Still as good!! Post lockdown
J. S.
Delightful coffee shop. I enjoyed their special tumeric latte with oat milk :)
A. P.
Great coffee, friendly staff
T. B.
Love this place. Great coffee and the staff are awesome ♥️
J. A. H.
Great coffee and super friendly staff, will definitely return to try one of their treats next time.
R. A.
Great coffee, great friendly staff. Lots of local artist prints and cards for sale as well...
S. B.
Great little coffee shop. Good selection of cakes. Nice and friendly. Highly recommend their sausage rolls!
A. M.
My favourite coffee shop in Bristol. The service is quick and the coffee very good. It's independent of the bug chains and has a quirky side to it which is quite nice.
Not only do they do coffee but some interesting cakes and sandwiches. Not for those on a low calorie diet though...
I. U.
This is what a coffee shop should be - excellent coffee and super friendly service.
T. q.
This coffee is the reason I travel into work
N. S.
Surprising coffee shop amongst the popular high street chains it was lovely to try something different. This cafe had the best hot chocolate I have tasted for a long time!! Will definitely return!
M. H.
Such lovely staff, amazing hot chocolate!
D. C.
Great bacon sandwich, even better coffee. Staff really friendly. Great place.
S. B.
Lovely cafe with artwork of Bristol on the wall with good hot chocolatates that can be made from real white, milk or dark chocolate or a mixture of them. Good selection of cakes. Friendly staff who remembered customers.
A. P.
Great coffee. Not some bizarre hipster brew (I've suffered at the hands of artisan baristas) just properly nice and much better than the big chains. Top notch bacon sandwich - everything right; the bacon, the bread, the egg, the mushrooms. Great macaroons. Lovely people - genuine, friendly, helpful. Very much recommended.
W. P.
Amazing coffee. Amazing Snacks. Amazing service. 11/10 would definitely recommend!
e.
It's simply the best coffee shop! It's what most others should try to aspire to. I have been a regular for years, George and his staff
are all just fantastic .The food a simple menu, is fantastic, fresh every day, salads and sandwiches in summer, soup and sandwiches in autumn and winter. great cakes and the coffee, there is no better than this coffeehouse's roast beans which you can take home as well as drink in.
E. S.
Really really nice staff who clearly enjoy what they do, and it's the best hot chocolate around that I've found (their chocolate melt is even better!) Normally the wait is fine but once or twice it's been a bit long as the baristas only tend to process one order at a time. Also not having an on premises toilet is a bit of a draw back. Definitely would recommend.
J. B.
Possibly the best coffee in Bristol, this independent venue also provide excellent breakfast food from bacon sarnies to posh pastries. The staff are passionate about what they do. Also, check out the photo-wall of customers who've sent in snaps of their Baristas cup on holiday!
C. P.
Top coffee! Several different types of beans available, well trained baristas, oat milk non-dairy option (not standard soya that often curdles with coffee), small shop but really nice atmosphere. I'll be back!
S. S.
Good coffee (a unique and potent espresso blend), brilliant food and friendly staff. Well worth visiting for breakfast or lunch or just a coffee.
J. B.
Lovely cafe - very friendly owners! Thank you for the lovely coffee and breakfast 😊
K. W.
Best coffee in Bristol by far. So delicious. Staff are really friendly too! If you love coffee then you have to come here because it's just great.
M. J.
Regular for three years.
Very down to earth - not another modern, flash chain interior serving mediocre coffee.
Great tasting coffee is what kept me going back - quite distinctive flavour. Their cortado is the perfect kick start to your morning. Just make sure George makes it - he has an eye for detail and perfect balance of milk and coffee. Sometimes the others are not quite on the ball :)
They do get very busy during the morning rush but generally keep the queue down with light hearted banter thrown in. It's no wonder there are so many regulars from all walks of life. Even saw regular dogs!
Try: cortado (best in the city) and excellent bacon sandwich (also best in city)
Enjoy: cozy atmosphere and frequently changing art by local artists
Will miss my regular visits now my son no longer goes to the nursery next door but will be back when in this area. Thanks George (local legend) and his band of merry men and women.

Let's say straight away that I'm italian... and I love coffee....
I was impressed for the friendly staff. There is a guy there..must be the manager... which is a very chatty guy. Make me feel welcome... the coffee good quality.
Me and my colleague go there very Friday to celebrate the end of the week and the fact that we have survived again.... ahahah
B. M.
Superb coffee, great bacon and a pretty darn fine veggie breakfast on Saturdays too. Popular, not at all pretentious, relaxed atmosphere, all welcome. Toilets shared with the pub on the corner.
A. P.
Extremely friendly service. Generous with their coffee servings which is great because the high quality of the coffee.
T.
Great coffee using a la marzocco lever machine
M. W.
This is the reason you pay £2.90 for a coffee I've never had a coffee that has been done badly keep up the good work guys. This is what all coffeeshops should aspire to become skilled baristas not burning the milk keeping the machine clean for Pure tasting coffee I love you all
m.
Cult coffee house with an anti-establishment vibe. Been here 18+ years, gotta admire their grit. The coffee is good but I wish they could ventilate a little better, don't like going there with a suit / shirt as the air is thick with fumes from the various equipment. Also they only take cash. For both these reasons we stopped going there for "rounds" of coffee for the office. But if you're popping in on your bike, like authentic coffee and don't want to patronise the multinational coffee corporations, Baristas is your place.
D. L.
With coffee and thick-cut bacon sandwiches like this, how can you complain! It's also dangerously close to my house and the post box, so it'd be rude not to pop in, right?
The staff are helpful, friendly and slightly mental, but that only adds to the relaxed and carefree atmosphere of this little independent cafe.
A. M.
Excellent service.
The best original coffee blend I've ever tasted (no exaggeration).
The quality of the food served here is exceptional anf wonderful value for money!
C. M.
This place is just fab, being going there for years, laid back humorous staff, great rolls, brownies, etc Saturday morning fried egg sarnies are great - and the coffee is good too without being poncy (Monmouth Coffee - you know I mean you)
J. C.
One of the best coffees you'll find in Bristol
L. F.
Asked for a vanilla latte but either they forgot the syrup or the coffee is that bitter it overpowers it, would've gone back but was already back at work before I tried it so not worth the bother. Not a hugely welcoming place either, staff responded with 'what?' when I ordered.
B. C.
Trendy coffee shop but no pretentions about the coffee they serve. Had possibly the best flat white I've ever had served by a very friendly young lady. Will be returning soon.
S. M.
Barista's coffee is always the best quality and their expertise is also reflected in the way the brew comes out. I' can't help but recommend their breakfast options, the brown bread bacon sandwich will keep you full and happy for hours. Lunch options are also great and fresh, plus you shoould try their tuna melt at least once in your lifetime (and it won't be the only time you get it after that, I promise). They have almond and soy as non dairy alternative milks, would be nice if they also had oatmilk but that isn't enough to not give them 5 stars!
M. S.
Used to go in here 8-9 years ago when I was a student residing in a nearby Halls (Transom House). Having used a load more coffee shops in various cities I have lived in, in the time since I still regard it as one of the best coffee shops I have used. Great coffee, good vibe and great staff.
E. K.
One of Bristol's best coffee houses by far, Baristas has an unassuming frontage but hides seriously good coffee. Tucked away just off Victoria Street, it's a popular haunt for both the lunchtime trade and those looking to get a quick caffeine fix.
Inside, you'll find mismatched furniture, quiet music and the buzz of chat and coffee machines. A large chiller cabinet displays the range of sandwiches and cakes available, while the blackboard at the front of the premises highlights the day's special soups and sandwiches.
I went caffeine-free over two years ago, and it can be a struggle to find a decent decaf coffee in Bristol. Baristas are among the best: great temperature, strength, flavour and presentation. Definitely worth a visit if you haven't yet been.
S. H.
Number 1 coffeeshop in Bristol to my reckoning and tastebuds! My almost daily caffeine break point. Amazing staff and nice soups in colder weather too.
J. S.
Nice coffee, nice staff, tasty treats and sensible pricing. However, could do with some comfy chairs. Alright for a grab and go!
M. B.
These lot will get you buzzing with some lush coffee. As busy as the tube in rush hour, but unlike the tube you'll be happy to collect that warm cup of liquid gold.
R. G.
Fantastic coffee. Haven't tried the food but keep coming back for more coffee!
If they could just sort out their Ordoo system it would be 5 stars for sure!
M. P.
Nice and friendly local coffee shop. Cheaper than others in the area and just as good. Limited indoor seating and no toilet, however.
N. B.
Best coffees, great sandwiches and wraps, awesome bacon sandwiches. Slightly quirky (can't put my finger on it) but in a good way. Staff appear to enjoy their work!
C. S.
All the office staff at The Fleece next door have been getting their tea/coffee from Baristas for years. Very friendly atmosphere and the best coffee in Bristol!
S. P. (.
Nice place, welcoming staff, the cakes are really good
t. t.
One of the very best coffee places in the city. Expert baristas, quality coffee. Friendly & laid back. They also sold me the best coronation chicken sandwich I've ever eaten.
R. N.
I really wanted to love their coffee, particularly since they are so close to my work. Sadly it's really not good. Still, the staff are lovely as is the shop itself.
R. C.
I had the full breakfast. The ingredients were high quality - everything delightfully tasty and well presented. I eat out a lot in London. This breakfast stood out as being one of the best iIve had.
O. J.
Great coffee, great food, friendly staff and good value. Bacon sandwich is a must try if you haven't had one there before.
J. W.
Been a favourite since moving to Bristol 10 years ago. Great coffee, friendly staff, good quality food made on site.

Bristol institution - they just know how to make damn fine coffee. Nothing overly fancy, it's all about the coffee. Excellent sandwiches, cakes and soup too! A favourite.
R. M.

The best coffee shop west of the Greenwich meridian. You simply will not find a superior bacon sandwich. A Bristol institution.
P. J.
(Translated) It's quite minimalist but rather warm, the staff is friendly. 5 stars because they know how to make coffees (like in Italy or in France), which is rather rare in England.
