Reviews of BEESES
p. l.
Amazing place. We stumbled across Beeses whilst walking the river. They were having a Mexican themed night, the garden was spectacular, atmosphere amazing. They had live music, great for, reasonable prices on alcohol. Loved it here. Dog and child friendly.
T. L.
I have wanted to try Beeses for the past two years but couldn't”t because of lockdown and today was my chance. I loved it, the staff, the beer garden and food especially. Everything was perfect and look forward to go again soon.
T. P.
Cool riverside bar with friendly staff and live music that is well worth checking out. A steep and bumpy off-road track down to the car park, but it's just about do-able for confident drivers.
M. R.
Such a gorgeous location and a great place to spend a great summers evening just relaxing and having a great time with friends. On the night we went they had a jazz band playing and it just set the mood nicely. Was a great night! The prices of drinks and food were a more than average but considering the surroundings it’s to be expected. Would highly recommend to others.
J. H.
A very beautiful place in the city but that makes you feel in the middle of nature.
I have visited this place many times and my assessment has always been good but this last time the experience has been negative. We booked a table at 4pm for a Sunday Roast. When we went to make the order they told us that there was only roast chicken or vegetable roast and that if you didn't like that there was nothing else to offer and when ordering the drinks they told us that there were no ice so all the drinks without ice, I hope they improve for the future.
J. C.
Took the Bristol Ferry Boat package, so had a lovely cruise down to Beeses from the centre. On arrival at Beeses, all very efficient and a lovely outdoor location with tables dotted around the river's edge. Great blues band played for us, food excellent, and good beer! A very enjoyable way to spend a Friday evening.
J. C.
Lovely to be back at Beeses for the first time this season. Always a joy to spend time in their exquisite garden next to the river, especially on a sunny day. We had Sunday lunch this time which was amazing and the staff were very attentive and friendly even though they were busy. We'll be back soon. Highly recommend to anyone who has never been as its a truly unique experience.

Even on a rainy day, this is one of my favourite things to do in Bristol. Get the ferry from central Bristol to Beese’s for a roast on a Sunday. Lovely staff & wonderful food. Great veggie Wellington.
D. E.
Great food & atmosphere. Friendly & lovely staff. Quite busy as expected, got there about 2 , waiting time was an hour for food. Staff take orders from table .
J. W.
Only had drinks. Lovely scenery. Amazing for families with pups! Staff are attentive and friendly.
S. Y.
Wow what a best kept secret, not easy to get to, that road needs some filling!!
But worth it, a beautiful place by the river,,
Didn't eat but food that came out looked good allthough a bit pricey,, server's were brilliant, good for all ages,, older people take care on those steps!!
A. C.
Fantastic, unique location, can get busy, especially when the ferry unloads, staff can struggle to keep up with the demand, but try to do the best they can and are always friendly and welcoming. A gem.
M. S.
Amazing spot on the river, very friendly staff and a whole raft of events most weekends.
Mexican night with the Mariachi band was awesome.
E. B.
Lovely setting and we were lucky with the sunshine on Good Friday. Dog friendly with some lovely pooches hanging around. We didn't eat but food looked good. Good local ale and cider. Got busier as afternoon progressed which meant around 15 min queue at the bar for each drink. Nice crowd.
C. W.
Had lunch here today, first visit but not my last, amazing location, great food and value for money, staff very friendly and attentive, wonderful place, thoroughly recommend, looking forward to visiting again.
R. P.
Great place to come on a sunny afternoon. Good selection of drinks and snacks. It would be great if they served chips.
Beautiful scenery and the boat across the river is always fun after a few.
G. B.
Amazing riverside bar & cafe on the River Avon, close to the centre of Bristol but it could be miles away in the middle of the countryside. Choice of inside eating, decking or garden. Excellent carvery.
a. s.
In response to "Michael" stay in London, that's where you belong. 1, it's BOLLINGER, 2, get a life and try to appreciate the hard work that the Staff put in to making this place the jewel that it is. Cut along boy, Ferris, ST.GEORGE, BRISTOL.
C. T.
Beesees is the best pub in Bristol please nobody else go there so my friends and I can have to ourselves.
Staff have never been anything but kind and respectful at all times. Great selection of cider and beer with different types on a weekly basis. Excellent food. Occasional live music which adds to the already friendly and welcoming atmosphere.
But none of this matters because you need to get a ferry across the river Avon to get there from Hanham and SOMETIMES YOU GET TO RIDE THE BOAT WITH A DOG. Just look at that view. Whatever pub you're thinking of going to, it's never going to be as nice as this.
J. N.
The perfect place for a sunny day! Camped down from Bristol city centre for some drinks. Great range of beer and cider, lots of outdoor seating in a fantastic environment.
A. J.
A great place for a drink by the river. Didn't have any food, but a lovely child cider.
We got there by using the ferry (£1 for return), but left taking the path up our of the rear of the property as we were doing a circular walk.
Very friendly staff. Fairly busy, but still good service.
D. W.
Nice location to sit and have a drink in, but in the occasion I visited variable, and very slow, service.
E. J.
Came here for my sister in laws hen do, and had a great time! Kudos to the cocktails as they were awesome! You can either get here via boat, car or bus links nearby but I would definitely recommend a boat trip for that little bit of something different! Definitely worth visiting!
D. P.
A beautiful spot on a sunny day. A little chaotic when very busy but staff were courteous. Everyone's food and drink was nice. I recommend the Bristol Packet boat trip which departs from and returns to The SS Great Britain.
P. J.
Great setting and atmosphere, with live music being performed. However, the food and service need work. Service was very slow and after the meal we had discussed dessert and drinks, however nobody came to take an order, despite it being 30mins before our boat was leaving and we all had empty glasses. In fairness to the restaurant, apparently they were having staffing issues. Roast itself was poor, with smaller portions than expected and a limited menu. (We came on Sunday at 16:00, however they had ran out of the pork, so we got the boring, tasteless chicken). Nice to have cider on tap, however.
The boat ride experience was great, and I'd probably end up recommending going just for that, however make sure you get there early before they run out of food.
D. P.
A great venue, especially when there’s a band playing, but the hill makes it a bit of a nightmare, especially on the way home in the dark.
e. l.
Amazing service, staff and food! definitely recommend! 5 star :)
J. H.
A lovely location by the river Avon. Tucked away. Very peaceful. Nice food. Not too expensive.
J. B.
What a lovely place to sit and watch the river! The ferry across adds to the pleasure. Good pub food and plenty of outdoor seating to enjoy the sunshine.
S. U.
Hidden gem of a place accessible by a nasty little dirt track (you can drive down if you like a bumpy ride dukes of hazard style) or by the river , quaint little feel to it friendly and relaxed due to the location, our food wasn't the greatest considering the price and it wasn't very warm when served, they heated it up and said they would discount it but never did. id come back for a afternoon for drinks and the atmosphere but wouldn't rush back for the Sunday roast anytime soon.
D. H.
It's a unspectular pub located directly on the river and the ferry. Outside seatings are lovely during sunshine.
C. D.
Great location, but not impressed with quality of the food. The Falafel was mushy not crisp, and the "craft" cider was not worth trying. Great little ferry service to the footpath on north bank bank of the Avon.
D. P.
Awesome experience, cruising upstream the river by the big boat for about 1 hour before the wedding dinner at this isolated bar
B. W.
The food is amazing and the surroundings are beautiful (once you get down the crazy bumpy off road bit)! They're hot on sanitising and social distancing which is reassuring. I've always loved Beese's but their handling of covid just exemplifies how good they are as people and a business. We've all had a tough year and small food businesses have really been hit hard and I'm extremely glad they didn't go under and are here again this year!
R. C.
Lovely place for some drinks with a friend in warm weather. The ferry boat across is very helpful and it is so nice next to many open fields overlooking the river. I did not personally eat, but other diners only complimented the food.
F. W.
Brilliant Sunday lunch in lovely surroundings, great fun watching the craft floating by on the river. We'll worth a visit but wear good walking shoes
R. J.
Beautiful place for and evening drink
J. M.
Amazing place to enjoy a sunny day. Impress your out of town guests with a quaint ferry ride across the river from a delightful riverside walk or cycle. Menu suffers a bit from fad food sensationalism (I'm looking at you smoky hog bites) but everything was delicious in the end. Sausage rolls and cheesecake were the heroes of the day. Definitely give this place a visit
N. T.
I was invited at the wedding party there and I liked food being simple but fresh and tasty. The view on the river's good and done people even swim in it not far from this bar: one of the guests did it as well after a few pints 😁 Being there it's hard to believe you are in a big city: so peaceful the place is.
J. C.
What a gem! Such a treat to find hidden secrets near the city that aren't spoilt. Well worth the trek (by road or river).
The food selection was excellent: traditional British meals with added culinary imagination.
(The proprietress also went above and beyond when our kids had a melt down - thank you.)
A. S.
Perfect location. Beautiful spot by the river. Very good atmosphere. Helpful staff. Tastiest vegan salads I've ever had. Chicken burger with a mushroom is a must and the mackerel pate is top notch.
D. Y. A.
Beautiful location with friendly staff. The menu has completed changed this year, with outstanding choices (fully catering for vegetarians!) Couldn't recommend it highly enough. Will be a favourite spot for summer meals out.
A. F.
Lovely looking place. Very scenic.
Lots are spare seats to pop anywhere you like and just sit.
Tip: Google maps points you down this dirt road that looks like a footpath. It's a road but be careful because cars are coming up and people are walking up and down it.
B.
This pub has an absolutely stunning location - and if you walk here along the river you will be forgiven for forgetting you are in Bristol at all! Good pints from local breweries and the sausage rolls looked delicious. If you arrive on the wrong side of the river, there is a ferry which will pick you up to take you to the pub (and back again)
S. S.
Beautiful setting overlooking river, nice choice of drinks. You can get a little boat across the river for 50p return.
I would love to give the place 5 stars, but planning to have lunch there and seeing all the food displayed uncovered, with flies sitting on the quiche, roulade etc, I didn't bother!...
So ended up with a packet of crisps, hungry and went elsewhere to eat!
C. T.
Lovely spot for some delicious food (the cream tea was first rate) and a glass of something nice beside the river. Took the river cruise here from SS Great Britain and if was thoroughly enjoyable. Some of my friends had also got married here last summer which was beautiful.
A. P.
We did the ferry trip to get here, which I would recommend! The bar is in in a great location! Sunday roast was very good, although portion sizes we're pretty small. I could have eaten 2 dinners. Very nice for a Sunday afternoon
T. J.
Very pretty location and nice but limited food menu but a a whopping £5.80 for a pint of beer I'm not going to be returning soon
P. R.
This is a great little quirky place next to the river. If you are used to eating in chain establishments it may not be for you as it is quite 'characterful'. We only had a cream tea but the Sunday lunches that people were tucking in to looked good too. The walk along the river and ferry across added to the charm.
A. T.
Visited Beese's via Bristol Packet's boat trip which I have to say is an excellent way to see the city and learn a little bit about Bristol's history along the way. My company had arranged a social event there and while we expected much higher interest from our staff, only four of us were able to go. Still, Beese's were happy to accommodate our smaller number and reserved us an excellent table on the wooden terrace overlooking the river. While it was a bit hectic inside due to the amount of people there, since we had booked ahead they brought our food out to us. They brought us a big plate of sandwiches and a plate of scones with a large pot of tea. The scones were particularly excellent. Not sure why there's a few negative reviews on here, it's still on the edge of a major city so of course it will be busy. If people want a true country tea garden experience in bone china cups, no screaming kids and people without tattoos (!!??) then maybe they should actually visit the countryside? For a location that's just a few minutes away from a major city centre, I thought it was perfect. I can't fault the staff either, they accommodated for us really well and some came out to wave to the boat as it departed, which I thought was a nice touch. Combined with Bristol Packet's boat trip, I thought this was an excellent afternoon out and good experience all round. Thank you!
M. V.
This really is a little gem. Tucked away so you'd need directions. Kids need to be watched as it right on the river. The food looks amazing, and had a burger lunch with my older children a while ago, which they said was "really mint". Drinks are slightly on the expensive side but plenty to choose from. Definitely worth putting on the list of summer pubs 👍
R. R. G.
Very nice place next to the river. Serve is very kind and patient. The menu is a little basic but the Sunday roast was all right. The ferry through the river is brilliant and really well priced. Definitely I will recommend it and we'll come back
B. B.
Absolutely fabulous location. Food is excellent - fresh bread, cakes and pastries cooked on the premises. Very nice bar area serving good selection of ciders and real ales. Perfect place to stop for morning/afternoon tea or Sunday lunch. Go there regularly!
C.
Lovely atmosphere. Great down by the river. Food looked amazing. Helpful staff.
M. P.
Absolutely cracking meal, my chicken burger was fresh and flavourful, tasted more like a roast than the greasy garbage you get elsewhere. My companion went for the mushroom burger that she loved. Beautiful setting, can't wait to spend my lazy Sundays here.
G. R.
Great setting by the river. Very friendly owners. Fantastic food.
Just make sure of checking the best way to travel there and back. Taxis don't like to come down the hill (with good reason)
J. J.
Beautiful location. Sunday lunch is a £9.50 carvery. We got there a bit late, so maybe it was better earlier on...
Good selection of local beers.
Nice place for a stroll :)
L. C.
Took the ferry and thought it was lovely. We all ordered the burgers but found them really difficult to eat in the basket. Would recommend you start using plates, we all really struggled, trying not to eat the blue paper napkin they were served in. Found the baskets a bit old hat. Enjoyed our visit.
R. F.
Haven't been here for a while but it's even better. Bigger decking area, better kitchen and now they make their scones/cakes in house 😊. Staff as good as ever and that ferry is still going strong. Well worth a visit on relaxed afternoon
g. h.
Very beautiful but only good for drinks and cake. I would not recommend the food it is expensive for what it is. I had a hair in my lunch and when I returned it instead of getting a replacement and an apology. I was told the chef was shouting it is not their hair as if I had placed it in the pate to cause a fuss. I found that offensive. After we left my friends wanted to go and buy some more food because they were still hungry. Also the prices and descriptions of food were not clear. We were not sure how much food was before ordering it and so were then shocked at what we got for the money.
M. P.
Only ever gotten here via the ferry, which is awesome. Great outdoor seating area, cool tree for the kids to climb on/slide down. Never eaten there but the food always looks good.
W. M.
It's a great location and you can get to Beese's by boat, bike, car or walk!
Good beer range, real ales and good ciders. Food is pretty good and they do cream teas! Nice walks nearby in nature reserve. Beer festival in September
S. O.
Despite living on and off in Bristol for 10 years I'd never yet made it to Beese's. Am glad to have finally made it there, it has a lovely garden setting with a lively atmosphere, right by the river. Sausage roll was so good, wish I'd ordered some more to take home!
T. M.
We love this place, it's my girlfriend's favourite bar in Bristol. Dog friendly, easy going staff and lovely owners. They have bands on, we even saw a brass band once. No it's not a Michelin starred place, but for a lovely afternoon pint and some food on a sunny day I don't think you can beat it.
D. H.
Great location by the river and ok food and drink. To be able to arrive by boat - either the main Bristol ferry service from town, or their own cross river ferry - is different. Nice outdoor seating areas and somewhere to go if the weather's not great.
T. S.
Really great place first time going there would recommend anyone to go .
K. S.
Went for a cream tea after a boat cruise. Also lunch another time. Good food! Can get quite busy and if you're not a big fan of kids running round screaming it may not be the best place unless you go in early. The bathrooms are quite undersized for the amount of people that actually visit. All in all a lovely place to visit.
T. V.
One of the best spots in Bristol. Great; views, people, music and atmosphere. It's a shame the British weather doesn't allow for this venue to be open all year round. A must!
J. H.
Lovely place 4 a wedding great food and staff. Only downside was the long and very dark walk back up to the road. Via a muddy very uneven lane. We arrived by boat so was.nt aware of this. Our coach could.nt get down the lane to pick us up. But on the whole fab day
J. S.
Came for a wedding. The venue was obviously very accommodating and helpful.
The venue itself has a lovely big garden and a great view of the river.
They stock a great selection of local ales and ciders.
L.
Lovely place for a nice drink
R. D.
Very good food and friendly staff. Dogs are very welcome there, they even have their own little "bar" where they can drink some water. You can also pick up the ferry from this location and head downtown.
C. D.
I've been here twice. The first time I ejoyed a delicious cream tea, the food is very good. The second time the place was packed and the queue so long we gave up and left. Love the little boat that gets you across the river.
S. T.
Lovely location. However, food is a bit over priced.
P. T.
Pint of cider and a burger by the river, what's not to like?
Under new management of late, a few things have changed on the menu, the amazing sauteed potatoes have gone which is disappointing, but otherwise it's a lovely spot for lunch or tea or a few drinks.
Worth arriving early on sunny days as it can get busy.
s. j.
Beautiful riverside bar with plenty of outdoor seating (although can still get full on sunny days!). You can get there from the other side of the river using their ferry for a small cost or use the car park nearby. Not as much food selection as there used to be but it is still good!Only open during summer months on weekends (inc. Friday).
R. W.
Really lovely venue fight by the river, the weather wasn't great when we were there but we had the table underneath the large evergreen tree which kept 90% of thefoul weather off and was rather fun. Food was good and the staff very friendly.
J. Y.
Beautiful venue with good food n drinks
C. E.
A beautiful oasis in Brislington with a wonderful garden and great ales and ciders on tap. We've yet to try the river trip that finishes there. If they had a coffee machine to serve proper coffees then it would be perfect!
K. P.
Visted beese's last weekend has lovely views of the river the cakes & food looked lovely the staff were friendly.
I did asked where the baby changing room was & was told it's in the ladies did shocked me there was not one in the mans toilet as I'm sure man come on there own with there children I was lucky I was with my partner.
Being hot summers day my boy wanted an ice cream there was not much choice maybe adding more choice in the summer months.
K. M.
A nice little venue with good live music and lovely garden feel. The track leading to the car park is terrible though so if you have a car with low suspension or low profile tyres maybe park on the road at the top and walk down!!
M. T.
Great pub by the river. Love taking the little boat to get there (only cost 1gbp return). Food is good with a nice beer garden overlooking the river.
S. M.
Love this place so much, it's my one of my favourite places in Bristol. It's right by the river, so lovely to sit with a cold bevy, or a cream tea and watch the boats/ rowers go by! Lovely gardens to sit in, in good weather. Cosy tea room with lovely slate floors if not. ( cream tea is great, I've never had other food there but it looks really nice!)
You can get there by car by parking on Eastwood road, Broomhill and walking down ( past the play area, then you'll see the track). There are quite a lot of steep steps to get down to the tea room, it does have a hand rail.
You can also drive down the bumpy track to the bumpy car park!
The other option ( and most fun!) is to park at Crew's Hole car park and walk along on the other side of the river. Then when you are opposite you can ring a bell and the Beese's boat will collect you and take you over to the tea room ( for a small fee, 50p I think). The kids absolutely love this! ( adults too!)
There are lots of live music events there and BBQ's in the summer. It's also a fab place for weddings. I went to a friend's wedding 'do' there and it was fabulous!
Highly, highly recommend :-).
J. V.
I'm a long time fan of Beeses, but so disappointed today, while I was there over 15 people complained of no food between 3 & 6pm, this has been ongoing with our every visit, doesn't feel listened to. We ordered the cream tea, & we were told they had run out off scones, when pushed, we were told they were baking & would be another 5 mins, when they came, they had clearly been frozen, & still chilled in the centre, the cream was “very” crusty, and the jam liquid. The owner was too busy looking miserable to here my comments to his staff, or choosing to ignore me. It puts the staff in a very difficult situation. Now just a few months ago, we had a surprise party in the marquee, & on that occasion we couldn't have been happier.
H. M.
Lovely staff, remaining happy and polite in the face of a busy serving time at lunch. Tasty tea and delicious burger. Fab place! Brought my mum this time, she's lived in Bristol all her life and never been. Delighted! The fella on the water taxi helped her (and me) into and out if the boat very patiently.
This place is the Beeses Kneeses!
S. C.
Lovely food, good beers and ciders. Generally a nice place to visit. Trip down the river from Bristol with the steam packet co. was pleasant. A lovely garden.
E. G.
Lovely setting, good for alcoholic beverages, not so good for hot drinks, service a little temperamental.
F. Q.
This has to be one of my favourite spots in summer (only open from Easter till October). Reached by a little boat that you have to call with the aid of a chain bell on the Crew's Hole side of the river. I tend to park up in Conham car park and walk along the river. Sunday lunches are very popular, so if you haven't booked, I recommend getting here early, but if you're a large group make sure you do book. There's a choice of roast from a carvery buffet inside and you can take your lunch outside under the trees. I've heard they're selling up which may or may not make things different.
m. a.
The food was basic pub fayre- the burger was ok - nothing to write home about really- not particularly tasty. It was nice to take the boat from the fountains in central Bristol and get to beeses for lunch that way.
M. W.
Lovely setting with friendly staff. Took the ferry boat trip here. Food was great and quickly served despite being crowded. Would definitely recommend and go again
B. S.
A lovely hidden treasure trove of Brislington. No place like it, you must go and visit! They opened today, we had a lovely hog roast, the new chef is amazing, see you guys soon! Andrew from Briscycle
M. R.
Lovely food and excellent service by staff very nice and welcoming would definitely advise a visit
A. Y.
We love going here after a walk along the river. They have a boat that will take you across the river as the path is on the other side. The garden is like something from a fairytale and food and drinks are great.
A. B.
Everything you would hope from a riverside pub, including a little ferry, or fairy as my daughter calls it.
S. “. M.
Lovely riverside bar. Looking forward to the grand return of the boat this summer!
R. C.
Beeses is a great little spot on the edge of the river Avon to enjoy a pint or a bit of food from their fantastic kitchen. Their is a little ferry that crosses the river to get you there which I always enjoy. You can also get a lift there from the city centre with the Bristol Packet as well to really make an occasion of it.
s. s. f.
Love beeses. Great location and good cream tea. Home made jam was delicious but would prefer drinking tea in a cup and saucer rather than a cracked IKEA mug.
A. H.
Lovely place right on the river. Good food, good beer.
K. K.
Very interesting place to enjoy food or just having drinks. Available to sit outside & inside, nice and tidy place^^ Good, friendly service. Very fine place to have wedding or any kind of celebration.
j. g.
Beautiful location, good food and cold beer.
W. H.
Lovely spot, however the Sunday lunch could have been better
J. W.
We held my daughters hen night here last night 25th Aug 17 . We had a great time food, music, & bar staff was all perfect a good time had by all thank you all at beeses very much .highly recommend. Xx
A. T.
Brilliant. Like a little fairy tale. Accessed by boat from the river bank. Good prices good selection of food. Something really different and fun. Made a change.
B. J.
Top notch service, beautiful beers, and local gins, by the river. Highly Recommended
S. T.
Best Sunday roast I have had in a long time at a restaurant. Wonderful chocolate brownies for dessert. Good atomsphere. Lovely setting by the river
J. M.
Food was tasty however the serving staff were slow and disorganised. There were also no table checks or any staff clearing up dirty tables. Good but could be much better.
B. N.
Love traveling across the river on the boat, the children think it's awesome. A great selection of beer and cider. Food was also good
A. L.
Great views for a chilled drink. Been to a couple of functions here, and har always been well organised. Quite a difficult road to access but can park at the top and walk down
E. B.
The staff were lovely, the roast was amazing, the mood was fab and as for the cakes 😍I was eyeing up the Victoria sponge as the woman brought it out and safe to say I took 2 slices home with me!
C. H.
Fabulous wedding venue, especially if you travel there by boat.
G. G.
We loved coming here, especially on the ferry. :)
If it is going to be sunny and nice try to come early to grab a table.
It's great for all.
D. B. B.
Nice and cosy place to spend the afternoon with your family or friends. Amazing background, atmosphere and landscape. Even they provide some games to play after eat a tasty selection of food. Highly recommended
S. S.
Really lovely seeing song and the perfect place to spend a sunny day. It did take a long time to get the drink at the bar. But other than that all positive
J. L.
Perfect for a walk along the river and then a carvery at the end watching the boats go past. Friendly helpful staff. Just wish there was a timetable somewhere for the water taxi!
S. T.
Beautiful location on the river with a trip over in a little boat to the other side for 50p..popular for meals and special events nice beer garden on the river. Busy though esp weekends and when it's sunny
E. B.
Great location for drinks on a nice Summer day. Food offering on the Saturday evening we were there was very basic with little choice and mediocre quality.
I. P.
Good food, great service and wonderful location. The ferry ride and especially the ferryman added another great dimension to a super afternoon.
D. F.
Amazing location. Great food at reasonable prices. Watch your step getting on and off the boat though if your crossing the Avon
A. K.
Best Nachos I've had in ages 😋
J. B.
Lovely place to sit by the river in the sun. Food portions can be a little stingy but overall good quality with decent vegan options
L. A.
Excellent bar on the riverside. Reasonablly priced drinks and good food. Fantastic garden for when the weather is favourable.
H. H.
Nice family place with friendly atmosphere
J. W.
Kitchen was closed when we arrived. Sandwiches were not very tasty...too expensive. No kids playing area. Nice setting but could have a bit more going on.
D. J.
Beautiful location and have their own bakery (Boho Bakery) who make cakes and gurt lush cream teas as us Bristolians say😁. Def recommend you pay a visit.
S. S.
Lovely riverside location. Hidden away from the city. Difficult to get close to by car. It has its own ferry to bring customers across from Conham River Park opposite.
S. M.
Beautiful place to relax in on the weekend and the ferry across the river is good fun. Could be magical with some really good music bookings that suited the area and surroundings..
T. M.
Super cool little bar, great atmosphere and location
A. W.
Friendly staff and a good menu, what more do you want. They need a better way to summon the boat but it's very rare that your left waiting too long.
A. B.
All the food is absolutely amazing, all fresh and tasty, and not too expensive. Stunning setting and can be accessed by a boat.
A. D.
Friendly waitress service. Food ok, boatsman lunch a little overpriced for what you get at £11.50. Especially when comparing to the smaller side dishes. Great location for a drink
D. L.
Great views as always. Be careful if you are driving as the road has a few serious bumps and potholes as it's not been maintained too well over the last couple of years.
D. A.
Love this place. Lots of live music, food, drink, a fabulous garden, it’s very own ferry service. What more could you ask?
h. b.
Beautiful setting lovely atmosphere only thing took us ages to find as not clearly marked on road ended up asking someone but really worth a visit
S. H.
Lovely place to eat lovely food with quality service.
m. e.
A really great and unique place. Definitely worth a visit. Only lost a star because food and drink is so expensive!
O. A.
Veggie roast not the best. Good potatoes, peas are alright. Nut roast quite good but I don't like the buffet style. Yappy dogs are a nuisance.
P. W.
Stopped serving main food at 3pm, just as a boat arrived. Long queues for bar. Drinks and food we managed to get good.
A. C.
Beautiful riverside location.
A.
Beautiful spot. I ate the delicious homemade salads and was very pleased. Will try the Conham ferry next time. Friendly young staff.

Colder inside than it was outside.

Stunning place to sit for a pint. Gets busy on nice days though, worth booking a table early!

Great location next to the river. Ate a Sunday roast and it was really tasty. It was a generous portion.

Gorgeous garden, love the short boat trip over the river and that you don't have to pay the ferryman till he gets you back to the other side 😁
B. P. H.
The garden is beautiful and the food is hand made, even though it is fast food mainly. Great place for a tea/coffee

P. M.
I had a pint and half of Cider and a roasted pork belly with roasted veg and steamed veg well and cauliflower cheese and I have a big appetite and struggled to eat it all the staff where very friendly and I felt very relaxed. It is mainly outdoor eating though so a bit weather dependent.
A. P.
(Translated) The food is well prepared, a bit spartan but effective presentation. Particular mention for their cooked ham, different from the cooked ham we are used to in Italy, well peppered. Tasty!! The bar is on the river with a beautiful garden, ample space for outdoor dining. Suitable for families, but if you are coming from the road you have to pay attention to the steep and irregular stairs.
(Original)
