Reviews of C. J.'s Coffee House & Deli

Independent family-owned coffee shop with indoor and outdoor seating. Friendly polite staff and customer service that is slightly higher quality than some independent places. I only had toast and honey but it was well-presented with generous amounts of butter and honey in their own small dishes.

Just across from the Royal infirmary, quiet and chilled out atmosphere, nice place to sit at the window, friendly service. Tea in a pot was nice touch, prob 3* for the sandwich and cake

Excellent little cafe. Good menu with veggie/vegan options and I can recommend the bacon sarnie on fresh crusty bread. Good coffee. Outside seating for the hardy.

Great location right next to several University buildings. Cozy sitting, lively, bright, the atmosphere is friendly. Chicken sandwich with mayo was really good, the latte was ok. Great place for a quick bite, especially for students. You can sit outside too. Overall, I enjoyed my lunch break here. Also, the owner was nice.

Staff is nice. Coffee's good, maybe not mind-blowing good but still quite good and much better than your average Costa. Bacon and egg sandwich was average for £6, I thought, but other options on the menu.

Well cooked full breakfast. Bacon, poached eggs, nice and soft, baked beans, mushrooms well cooked and had pepper added. Hashbrown was tasty. Toast was nice as well, on white bread. Came with a premium sausage which was nice however they had run out on my other visit and had the standard sausage which I wasn't do keen on. Would give it a 4 star with these sausages. Tea was very nice with a pot of Devon tea which filled 2 cups. Would I go back - yes

Nice. Eggs were ever so slightly over poached, but not too bad. Good quality ingredients used, nice coffee too. Still a little pricey, but I guess £9 is the going rate for the location? Preferred this to Penfolds just a few doors down.

Lovely coffee shop! We preferred one a few doors down as opposite the hospital but they wouldnt do a sausage roll a few weeks back as closed kitchen 5 mins ago so we came here in hopes...wow. The rolls and bread used were soft and tasty and been back regularly ever since and now treating the boy as he is allowed out the hospital and enjoys it too! So if passing or fancy a tasty lunch stop here. Breakfasts are delicious and so are the toasted panini's!

Good food served fast and fresh. Quite expensive tho. I paid 5.5 for a sandwich. Granted it was a great sandwich. I think a student or takeaway discount would be a great idea since the cafe cannot accommodate too many patrons.

Nice! Staff great, good selection. I had to save up to go there! But not horribly expensive. Well worth a visit and regular returns
