Reviews of Café Amore
E. Z.
Weekend treats sorted. Amazing place, amazing staff, great food and chilled atmosphere.
M. C.
Having a refit when I visited, still providing an excellent service & thoroughly good food. Ham and Brie Panini with coleslaw, Earl Grey tea delightful.
Z. S.
Lovely ans cosy café with nice staff and a good selection of sweet and savoury meal choices. Ok prices.
T. O.
Tasty food- lasagne and good customer service. Guy taking drink order was dishonest as he said the 12 oz hot chocolate £2.70 I requested was for kids even though I saw other adults with a smaller mug which is a standard size for adults. Would appriciate honesty regarding drink size next time.
M. B.
Pleasant staff, a little cold as main door and hatch at the back of thr shop left open.
A little more pricey than other places but the quality is good.
Nice range of sandwiches, salads, desserts and drinks to pick up.
k. b.
So yummy especially the piri piri panini. Coffee is good too, but depends on the barista - usually they just make cappuccino as a standard, eeven if you ask for a latte. It's always extra frothy. The staff is so kind and helpful.
F. B.
Would like to humbly apologise to the manager of this cafe. I accidentally put an adverse review on this site which was meant for someone else. The food here is probably excellent and next time I am in town I intend to eat here to prove it. Sorry
F. W.
I have been going to cafe amore with my mum since I was a little girl and it's always been great. The staff are friendly and the food is good and reasonably priced. I now pop in for a quick takeaway lunch when I'm working in the office. They have a great selection of sandwiches and paninis
S. w. C.
Excellent sandwiches and treats as well as paninis, pizza and, I think, jacket potatoes- very reasonably priced for city centre and home cooked!
K. C.
Visited Bristol for the weekend and so glad we came across this little gem of a cafe for breakfast. The servers were helpful and cheery, both myself and my partner had paninis and the seaseme seed bread was absolutely delicious. Coffee was strong and tasty, free water to help yourself to. In addition to all of the above the cafe itself is full of old posters and brand signs and its got such a cool vibe. Would 100% visit again if I'm back in the city.
A. G.
Hands down the best Chai Latte I have ever had! It was so delicious and creamy. Love the decor in there too. Cosy!
W. H.
Great place for a nice cappuccino and a tasty sandwich. Lots of other nice snacks available with a good new ground floor layout. Excellent staff very helpful and they keep the tables clean and clear.
P. D.
Great food and Coffee. Good friendly service in comfortable surroundings.
G. A.
Really good indépendant café, been here for ages evidently, and I can understand why. Lovely atmosphere and great coffee too!
L. C.
Beautifully decorated cafe, the staff are real friendly and so accommodating; the gentleman whom served me refused to let me carry my order, he insisted on getting it spot on and bringing it himself! Food portions are more than enough and you can't help but feel a little nostalgic seeing all the old brand signs up inside. Top notch.
A. K.
Really nice cafe in the centre of Bristol. Doesn't necessarily look like much as you walk past, but go in, you will be pleasantly surprised.
G. S.
Love this place, super tasty snacks and excellent coffee. Really lovely staff too!
P. W.
Had a yummy Panini, "Mexican Passion", busy lunchtime but found table for 4 upstairs. Staff were friendly and efficient
A. S.
As always good service and reasonably priced food, and bucket size cups of coffee.
A. F.
A beautiful Parisian-esque style cafe with beautiful mahogany wood balustrades and furnishings, retro and vintage advertisements and decor with a very diverse coffee selection in addition to friendly and attentive staff (one of whom even double-checked whether my wife also wanted plant-based milk in her frappe as I had in my latte) before going ahead with the order. Would definitely visit again.
M. M.
Lovely food huge potatoes and generous fillings.
Very busy but friendly staff and they bring the food to your seat
Recommend a visit.
A. B.
So beautiful inside the cafe, always met with a warm welcome by all the staff. So much better than the rubbish overpriced chains nearby.
J. S.
Been a regular for many years great food and great coffee.
M.
Lovely little place. Only ever had coffee in here, and it's always been a nice cuppa.
Instead of standing around, it's brought to your table.
Talking of table, they have a few outside seats, and they can go quite quickly, so of you definitely want to sit outside, try not to come during lunch service.... 12:00-14:00.
The staff have always been helpful and friendly
Coffee prices are average compared to other similar places.
I can't comment on food or food prices, as I've never had. ...bill change this if i do!
C. C.
Best cafe in town with great service. Been using the cafe since 1998 and never had anything less than first class service and food. Great value freshly made sandwiches with loads of filling. If your favourite has sold out ask nicely and they will usually make one for you. Love the chocolate brownies. Coffee very good too. Be warned gets very busy at lunchtime.
D. B.
One of the best cafes in Bristol. Service is amazing, the decor is absolutely fascinating. Really recommend this place. Food and drink options are nice.
W. A.
Take a short walk away from Cabot circus to find this gem of a place,100 times better than the normal run of the mill franchise Places, good food and great service
E. C.
Uniquely decorated with a huge range of vintage and antique signage, the interior is pleasantly gloomy.
Prices are cheap for the city centre and quality of the food and service
M. H.
I love coffee in this place. The staff are quite polite and friendly as well.
R. S.
so reasonably priced, really great food and drink, the staff are so lovely and the atmosphere is great. would definitely recommend!
B.
Amazing food, good setting and fab staff.
P. J.
Nice coffee ☕ good cakes could do with a good clean though
D. G.
Lovely olde world cafe close to city centre well worth a visit.
G. D.
Lovely quirky cafe and restaurant, with particular and cosy ambient. Friendly staff and great fresh food make it worth it for a short break as well as a good lunch.
The atmosphere of this place is a mix of a pub, a ship, and an antique shop. The uniqueness of the combination creates a place out of the ordinary in the heart of Bristol.
J. K.
Really nice cafe in Bristol, me and my family have been going there for years. Lovely tasty sandwiches, panninis and jacket potatoes. They do lots of other stuff too.
Friendly service would definitely recommend.
C. S.
Awesome place for lunch, great food and friendly staff. I tend to get something to go, but it's worth staying as the interior has a nice retro feel to it. The acoustics are pretty good so you can sit and have a conversation even when it's busy.
L. Z.
Get in the queue and the rest will be sorted out for you. We always use this little gem instead of the high street big names.
M. G.
Great place for coffee and light lunch in Bristol
S. H.
Absolutely lovely, my first visit here, but certainly not my last. Very nice fresh food, reasonably priced. Lovely staff. I somehow managed to leave my little handbag behind, rushed back when i realised. It was not where I had been sitting. However, i was approached by a member of staff asking if i had left a bag, he kindly got it for me.
K. Z.
Lovely place with vintage soul. I like having a coffe with panninis there. :)
A. M.
Very nice coffee shop,,,, very big and the service is just perfect
K. C.
tasty
E. G.
As always the food was lovely. I had a jacket potato with tuna & sweetcorn with some salad & it was really nice. The potatoes are always a good size. Well done Cafe Amore. ☺
A. T.
A very nice place to have a lunch break while being at the city centre. The food is very tasty and the portions satisfying. The prices are very resonable while the quality is kept at high standards. The staff is very friendly and helpful. I definitely recommend to try it for lunch and/or a cup of hot chocolate.
N. C.
My favourite lunch spot in bristol! As mentioned before, quirky feel to the place as it looks as if your walking into a theatre. Extremely helpful and friendly staff which is a rarity. Big portions of fresh good for reasonable prices! Love this place!!!
A. N.
Always great fresh food with great service
P. C.
· Loacted at the middle of Bristol city centre; somehow hidden away
· Quick fix for a cup of coffee/ hot chocolate
· Hot chocolate is strongly recommended
· 12 oz and 16oz size of drink available
· Price is low comparatively
· Good for meet-up and dates
· Indoor and outdoor sitting available
M. E.
A welcome oddity. Quirky feel, with lots of nooks to hide away in. Food is good and table service is standard. Priced fairly and friendly service. A good spot for a quick, filling, seated lunch in the heart of town.
B. D.
I think Cafe Amore is one of the best sandwich shops in town. There is always a wide selection of freshly made sandwiches, lots of naughty cakes and a great selection of jacket potatoes. The hot chocolate is to die for! I always feel as though I've had a substantial meal. I love passing the time of day here with friends and family. Staff are always very happy and pleasant.
P. M.
Good Sandwiches, Slightly overpriced Coffee. but worth a visit local institution with a bit of History to itself!
V. F.
Always a favourite place to go- this little off shoot from the centre of town is a lovely cafe/restaurant! Service is always super quick and the staff are always very friendly. There are so many choices for drinks, and lovely sandwiches, hot meals (jacket potatoes, pasta, pies, etc), desserts, etc! And the prices are amazing for the portions. I love the decor of this place so much, it's got that kind of old style pub feel, with lots of cool signage and pictures on the walls. Oh, and this place is massive!
S. S.
Love visiting this place! Such a gem in the heart of town. Service is always impeccable. So friendly. Food and drinks are wonderful. Interior is beautiful. Highly recommended!
S.
Love this café... I've been going here for decades (literally) and although I don't have a problem with change, this place has barely changed since I first started going there. Perhaps that's why it's still around... Anyhow, fab food, soothing and retro ambience and charming staff. What's not to love?
D. F.
Normally eat here when in Bristol. Good atmosphere and fast service. Food always looks good and it arrives at your table hot. Interesting and unusual items dotted around the walls makes this an interesting place to eat. On two floors so there is usually no problem getting a seat.
J. H.
great sandwiches and they are good value, good efficient staff they seem to know the regulars, haven't never tried the hot food but its always popular. Great decor lovely collection of old signs, its always my go to place for a cheap lunch when shopping in Bristol centre!
p. q.
Aaaahhh this place is great. Switched on boss man knows what's going on, always on shop floor making sure everybody is being looked after.
Friendly, alert staff. Fresh, affordable food.
I take the children and they are so helpful and accommodating, and also make sure all the working lunch customers are seen to quickly and efficiently.
Great place, love it.
J. H.
Fantastic - always busy that speaks for itself. I believe chief thete is Italian, his staff are always well mannered, clean, attentive and obliging. Manager has been there from opening many years ago. I can't think of a sandwich combination they don't have but if you can and want to ask they'll very likely make up yours for you
C. C.
Quirky cafe, nice fresh tasting sandwiches and decent coffee and chai latte. Nice selection of cakes & want to go back for a jacket potato in the future as they looked great as well as huge!
C. R.
Great independent cafe. Still going there after 23 years. Still a joy to eat drink and take in the lovely atmosphere. This cafe has a great selection of paninis and pasta based snacks. Well wort a visit, you won't be disappointed.
R. P.
Good value for money, good quality and service.
J. M. G. R.
One of the best and oldest coffee shops in Bristol. The variety of food is amazing and they may adapt your paninis to what you like if you don't like one or two ingredients. Plenty of seats and speedy service. Just great!
H. M.
A favourite haunt in Bristol, one of the best kept secrets. Wonderful food and good value. Great atmosphere, and unique in its decor and layout. Service is always 10/10. Would recommend over Costa every time.
D. P.
Don't let the uninspiring exterior put you off - it's a different world inside, wood panelling, lots of authentic vintage signage and when busy a great atmosphere. Excellent coffee, lovely food.
P. D.
Bizarre Bristol institution. Nothing particularly special - quite a dark and gloomy place. Lots of seating (including An upstairs area). Staff are exceptionally friendly and all the food/drinks are incredible value. Attracts a full spectrum of Bristolians - families, the elderly, young teenagers... a lovely mix.
N. N.
I have been visiting this place for years and it's one of few independent cafes in Broadmead. The interior is large with seating upstairs and downstairs (wheelchair accessible), as well as a small amount of seating outside facing the street. They serve very good filter coffee here, plus a range of other coffees, teas and cold drinks. Foodwise, the paninis are great. Other hot food includes lasagne and jacket potatoes. There's also a good range of salads, sandwiches and cakes. Vegetarian and vegan options are available. Service is friendly and very efficient. Prices are very reasonable too - hot lunch and a coffee for under £5.00.
A. M.
Bristol's hidden gem... one of those places you walk past and might never venture into but once you have it is such a joy... unpretentious, sometimes packed to the rafters but my God, their hot chocolate in winter is a thing of dreams! Sandwiches and jacket potatoes elevate your working lunchtime from "meh" to "wish I didn't have to go back to work now"... old style cafe culture, done right!
E. T.
Excellent customer service, elegant and spacious interior - especially upstairs - and an unusually diverse menu for a cafe. Only qualm is that they tend to burn the milk in the coffee and don't have different blends, roasts, etc.
M. O.
Been coming here for years. Never disappoints. Polite, helpful staff. Good, simple food . Fair pricing. Highly recommend. Only downside is that The loos could do with an upgrade
S. B.
Very welcoming cafe. Allowed our little pooch in with us and sent a bowl of water to our table along with our hot drinks. Reasonably priced and very atmospheric interior
M. M.
Used to go and have a coffee there every day in the late 90s and early 2000s having moved away was pleasantly surprise to see it was still there. Nothing appears to have changed same food same coffee same decor etc etc. Whilst it was nice to take the trip down memory lane the place is dated and needs a face lift. Coffee still has a slightly scalded taste which was a nice memory jog but not best product. Still overly cramp for seating and very dark. Can see the cigarette staining from all them years ago. Time for a close refurbish and Rebrand ??? Must be doing something right to have stayed open as there are many many coffeeshops in bristol wonder how much longer it can run in it's current state
C. D.
We had breakfast here before leaving for the airport. The people were super nice and the food and coffee was good, and ready real quick. The prices are reasonable and the atmosphere is cozy.
E. L.
Have loved this place since it first opened years ago. Best sandwiches ever and lots of other things to choose from. Always busy but really good service with good staff.
S. N.
My go-to lunch spot for sandwiches, panini's, flapjacks etc. Old school wooden benches, tables and chairs - it's got a well established and appropriately worn feel to the place (in a good way). And rightly so, it's a popular place. Brie, bacon and cranberry on brown bread is amazing.
J. A.
Best café in the centre of Bristol. Paninis are amazing. Been going here nearly 20 years! Does get busy at peak times, but that's because it's good; and even then the service still friendly and efficient.
i. B. c. s. c.
Fantastic food. Fantastic service. Great atmosphere and decor. Would recommend a visit if in central Bristol area.
R. V.
A time traveling experience. Walls are full of antiques, and the looks of the cafe look almost untouched in time. Very nice and good selection of goodies. Coffee was nice.
J. M.
I've been running here a couple of times, and it's simply beautiful. There's a large old English manor house in the centre, surrounded by spacious greenery and woodland. The woods are vast and stretch out in the area that links Coombe Dingle, Lawrence Weston and Henbury. There's some really quaint paths in here, especially the one that leads up to the gothic folly.
S. W.
Service is very fast and friendly, staff bring your order straight to your table, excellent coffee and reasonably priced delicious cakes. Only negative is that it feels a bit dark and possibly the décor is a bit tired.
A. B. R.
I visit once a week or more. It's a great place to sit and eat with plenty of tables. The food is always hearty and good value. The staff are very friendly and always helpful. A hidden gem
e. n.
Best pennies I've had, very warm welcome and perfect service.
S. G.
Great independent cafe and restaurant near Bristol town centre. Recommend the jacket potato with toasted vegetables and large soya latte. Seating outside and ground and first floor with your drinks and meals bought to you. Very reasonably priced and service is A1.
S. B.
As always, friendly and attentive staff, and a good selection of sandwiches, and hot snacks. Always love the ambience of this place, one of my fave cafes in Bristol and always worth a stop for coffee if nothing else.
A. H.
perfect place for a stop while out and about in bristol.
very relaxing with lovely staff who are very helpful.
food and coffee are great, and not expensive.
M. H.
The layout is very nice and plenty of space, there's often a que but there is plenty of staff and it runs very fast. The food is tasty and the coffee is spot on. The staff are incredibly friendly and the owner is a nice as they come.
V. G.
Great food, friendly staff - bit of a strange ordering system but is easily worked out by your second visit! Especially good cakes and very interesting décor.
A. E.
Great toasts and variety of lunch meals.
D. B.
Really great coffee and a selection of hot and cold food. Upstairs and outside seating areas. Definitely a nice place to go for light bites with friends or for meetings right in the centre of town.
A. B.
Great coffee and food with friendly service. Really good value fresh food. Always pleased with this little gem.
C. S.
Love the fact this cafe still exists- it's nice to call in when i'm back visiting Bristol. I like sitting in amongst the old signs and dark wood and the sarnies are great too!
B. I. M.
FANTASTIC Kind and genuine service as always from the team, I have been coming here for over 20 years and now I live in London, I come here once a week to relax and enjoy Bristol, this is my goto cafe...thank you guys.
F. F.
Love this place, excellent customer service, freshly prepared food, amazing coffees all resanoble priced. I like the decoration, a good collection of objects from times already gone.
r. p.
Very friendly.
Great sandwiches and panini.
Always go here when we are in town
S. K.
Fantastic New Orleans ambience (or what I guess a New Orleans ambience to be). Huge ceilings in cosy darkness with brash American decorations all around and a mezzanine upper floor. Similarly brash and over the top menu with friendly staff and chefs. Food is quick to arrive and tasty. Ordering method is slightly different to most cafes but this adds to its uniqueness.
S. B.
Lovely little place, went in the afternoon with a small group. For town centre very good prices and food was nice. 4 stars because as a first time user the service numbering was a bit confusing!
O. K.
Lovely jacket potato and beautiful spread lovr this place please do not close down.
K. C.
Always helpful when we go in, and are excellent with my partners sister who is autistic and has leaning difficulties, keep up the good work, you guys are a credit to the hospitality industry

m. h.
Fast friendly and helpful staff. Ordered my food to take out by the ti.e I paid it was ready for to go. It was hot and tasty to.
M. W.
Hot chocolate very nice. Jacket potato filling. Only small complaint and probably a personal taste is the coleslaw wasn't to my taste.
E. E.
Cheap and cheerful. Friendly and super efficient staff. Value for money is great, and there's a tremendous variety of food on offer. Classic lunchtime spot.
B. N.
First visit in a while, still excellent! Love this cafe, just the best coffee and freshly made food
R.
Very nice decor, coffee is always okay, staff are polite and food looks good. Lack of sweet treats to have with your coffee though.
K. W.
Great food for good prices. Can recommend the sandwiches and panini's. Next time I'm going to try a jacket potato as they look really good too.
C. C.
This cafe is amazing. I enjoy my food and my days out here.I could not reccomend it enough, prefect food, friendly service, great music.
J. B.
I adore this little gem of a cafe. Fresh food, generous portions and really good prices. Do yourself a favour and check it out!
B.
Why anyone would buy a sandwich from Greggs 50m down the road beats me. This is the best sandwich shop in Bristol, which is why it is packed to the gunwales at lunchtime.
T. G.
Nice place, loads of choice when it comes to food and drink, good value and the staff are friendly and helpful. Quite a quirky place, will definitely go back.
m. d. c.
Perfect lunch time 😍
S. G.
Reasonably priced wide ranging menu for sandwiches paninis baked potatoes lasagne etc. Big range of teas and coffees nice surroundings background music ok, only fault for me was ladies cloakroom no baby changing facilities so had to step over lady changing her baby on the floor would expect this to be pretty standard these days.
S. S.
Good food, good coffee, efficient service and the tables are cleared and cleaned as they are vacated so you can always find somewhere to sit.
H. F.
The outside didn't look great but overlook that please! A great place inside to chill, have a lovely cuppa and full of nooks, crannies and charm
T. S.
Really good place to eat👍🙂
A.
My favourite spot in Bristol hands down. The food and atmosphere is amazing and the prices are very reasonable. 10/10

This place is a hidden gem right in the city centre it is by far the cheapest place around and that does not mean they skimp on quality of ingredients and the service well you may as well be in London Mayfair outstanding every time I go there the service is faultless I'm just waiting for them to mess up so I can complain

Great atmosphere and pretty good prices.
The food and drink we had was excellent.

(Translated) Cool. A cafeteria that is not a chain or a franchise. Very authentic. If you want food similar to 'sandwiches' this is a good place.
They serve you coffee in huge cups. They have 'sandwiches' of quite a few things and they can heat them up for you. The decoration is very beautiful, a lot of wood and figures.
Attention was somewhat weaker. Although everything is correct, it was necessary that they had put "desire" on him.

Genial.

(Translated) To eat breakfast.
It's an exquisite time of 11 o'clock, and the lunch shop isn't open, so go here.
The volume of coffee and panini is amazing compared to Japan.
It was £ 13 for two people.
The atmosphere of the shop is very nice. The taste is ... Panini is big, so I got tired of it. The coffee was delicious ☕️

(Translated) Very atmospheric place, good quality tea and coffee. I recommend :)
