A fantastic, friendly and welcoming establishment in the heart of Thornbury. As a vegan it was fantastic to see they even had a separate vegan menu. The one pot wonder was absolutely delicious and highly recommended as a change from the usual “breakfast” type offerings.

A lovely little place and I do like it here. But on this occasion I stopped with some family and was pretty shocked to have a £30 bill for 4 slices of cake and a cuppa. I'll stick to the cider in future.

This was a chance visit but Hawkes House is a lovely lunch destination, with plenty of space, lots of variety on the menu, delicious food and pleasant staff. It's just outside the shopping precinct in the town so easy to get to. It would have been 5 stars but our table obviously needed a clean and was sticky to touch. As my wife pointed out to me repeatedly ..... Other than that, great lunch!

First visit to Hawkes House as it claimed to have a good range of gluten free options. Unfortunately when we got there there wasn't much choice for a 10 year old. The food was nice but quite pricey for what it was and the place looks like it had its hey day about 5 years ago and is in dire need of a refurb. The dead plants in the bathroom didn't really do it for me either.

Sunday 3rd April. Beautiful food. Food took years and was cancelled multiple times (couldn't have first choice then took ten 20mins to even tell us that we couldn't have the second choice) . Manager/owner was very apologetic gave us free drinks as well as a few free meals that were most disturbed. If your willing to wait upwards of a hour for a stunning burger that might not arrive, its the place to go.

We were visiting Thornbury today and came across your establishment where we had the most lovely breakfast this morning. The service we recieved was excellent. The host lady was extremely friendly and welcoming She had her hands full with a film set and lots of guests but still made time to talk to us and she and her staff did a wonderful job. Super pub which punches above its weight in the food department. We ate from the Christmas menu and the food was super delicious. The menu was different and while producing the expected typical fare for this time of year, did it in such a way that was so different, tasty and exciting. Lovely dog-friendly restaurant. Menu is a tiny bit limited but all the food is fantastic; kitchen is small so I respect the aim to do a smaller menu perfectly than a big menu poorly. Staff are all incredibly friendly and service isn't slow even when it's busy. Inside decor is very nice with eclectic furniture and there's an outdoor area too with shade. Fantastic brunch options and rotating pale and amber ales means this place is good for any occasion or time of day. My personal favourite place in Thornbury!

We've eaten here quite a few times, mainly for breakfast /brunch (which is amazing, all day breakfast options which are far beyond a standard full English). Today we had lunch, wife had roast beef, I had a foot long chilli dog. Interesting and tempting menu. Great choice of beers and wines too.

The most amazing accommodating team, it is a must to try Hawkes House. I contacted them to ask if they could take a booking for 15 people at very short notice. Over the course of 2 days I spoke with David, Jenny & Amelia who were all super helpful and friendly. We needed a place to offer drinks and a bite to eat after a local funeral. They bent over backwards to help us even when the numbers crept to 20 the night before and then 22 on the day. They had cleared a private area for us and provided a fabulous buffet including a delicious cake and drinks. The staff couldn't have been nicer and are a real credit to them. Nothing was too much trouble including one of the guests being able to bring their dog in. Thank you to everyone at Hawkes House who made a difficult day so much easier. We will definitely return when in the area. Victoria, David & family

I am new to working in Thornbury and as it is a fair way for me to travel, I intend to make a bit more of a day of it. Treat myself to a different place every time I go I went in on a Saturday lunchtime and it was busy - you could see them working in the kitchen non stop Had a great snack of bread breakfast and a cup of tea - it was busy and I was warned of the wait but it was worth the wait and I did not leave disappointed - so worth the wait and it the spot before catching the bus back home There is plenty of space

It's a nice space in a good location, but the waitress wasn't wearing a facemask despite Government mask mandate in the middle of Omicron crisis (>100,000 cases on the day we visited), which felt quite disrespectful. Mulled wine was quite expensive yet tepid.

Menu looks good and they have lots of good ideas, but was disappointed with the food when it came, it was just not exercuted very well. We had early lunch on a Saturday but most of the things we asked for from the menu they couldn't provide as they didn't have or have the right ingredients. The food felt rushed and like not a lot of attention had been paid to it. I hope this was just an off day as I like what they are trying to do with the variety of menu and inclusiveness they are trying to provide, but unfortunately we didn't have the best experience.

We've spent lots of times at Hawkes, but our 1st return as a family was disappointing. The food was very underwhelming and expensive for what it was. My example being the Nachos, £7 for a bowl of nacho crumbs, a dollop each of tasteless sour cream and guacamole, melted cheese not much better and the 'salsa' was a few chopped up tomatoes, sprinkled on top. We will come back, because we hope it improves, but not quite yet. Come on Hawkes.

Stunning gem in Thornbury High street, was gorgeous before but the new refurb has really elevated it to a new level! The food array is vast, they have an open kitchen so you always know the hygiene is great, really friendly staff whom nothing is too much trouble for, and the food will keep you coming back again and again! This is where the locals go, (I am one!) don’t miss it! Really good value for money too, highly recommended! Well done Hawkes House!

Lovely building with a great vibe, lots of people whether just having a drink or eating & chilling. Sort of place I'd happily visit on my own or with others. I really enjoyed the food but not the coffee sadly. I'm not a great coffee connoisseur so can't make claims about its quality one way or the other. Just not to my taste!

An excellent place, ever since it opened at the end of 2014. Well used from early morning for breakfast, morning coffees, lunches and in the afternoon and evenings for food and drinks. Popular with men and women, young and old. On our last visit we were there in the evening and noticed it wasn't as crowded, possibly because we understand the owners are focusing on opening a new place in Congresbury.
