Reviews of Hobbs House Bakery
A. B.
Lovely selection of cakes. My daughter said the chocolate brownie was the best she had ever tried, very fudgey. The bakewell slice was really good with such a lovely flavour of almond.
I bought to takeaway!!!!

Popped in for something to eat at lunchtime, very pleasant, cheerful staff served us quickly.
Quality food but not cheap although we may visit another time.

Just stopped in for a quick bit of breakfast and it was bloody delightful! Super tasty croque monsieur that wasn't sickly cheesy and a perfect flat white made with Extract beans. Definitely worth stopping if you're passing by!
J. S.
Chilli Billy toasted sandwich was nice.
Ambience wasn't quite right for eating in. Still, nice to sit and watch the world go by.
J. B.
Very authentic pesto and mozzarella Italian toastie that transported me instantly to Florence. Order at the counter and they serve it to outside tables.
A. D.
Great service from the barista and friendly staff, coming out to take our order as we were on bikes.
Best oat flat white I’ve had during lockdown. thanks!

Love this place. been a few times for brunch, the sourdough waffles with rarebit sauce and bacon is so good. really friendly staff and a good place to sit and do some work on the wifi.

Popped in for a coffee earlier today, is quite a nice café, staff were friendly, enjoyed my coffee would happily visit again. Have a great week. Alex.

First time here and it’s a happy experience. Traditional looking cafe bakery, not pretentious, bright and cheerful with decent WiFi. I was served by two friendly trainees, the coffee was good, the toast was excellent and they had marmite to go with it.

Great bakery and coffee shop. I had breakfast, cheese toast, almond croissant and delicious coffee. Everything was very good all the time. Friendly staff as well.

Popped in for a quick coffee between jobs. However the Viennese whirls looked so good that my brain couldn't stop me from ordering one.
It was as good as it looked now I have to learn will power every time I'm in the area.

Friendly enough staff, but for the sort of place it was, I was expecting more from my £5.95 sausage butty. It was just a round sausage patty in a sesame seed bun with an egg in it, with pepper sprinkled on it. I could have made something comparable at home. That said, I didn't even ask for the optional egg but got it anyway. And the staff were nice and sold a variety of tasty looking things.

Good selection of sourdough bread which is full of flavour and the cakes aren't bad either.😊
S. B.
Really nice establishment. A little independent coffee shop and specialist bakery. Good coffee and equally as tasty cake. Didn't buy any bread but what they had on sale looked really wholesome.
Worth a visit.

Edit: tasty porridge, but comes in a small jar. Not worth the approximate £5, I think.

I have to admit I have not had the cakes. The 3* rating is based on its size. It is decorated to a high standard I just find it small and a bit cramped. Judging by the crowds it attracts the food is a draw and I can well imagine giving it an extra star once I have tried it.

Friendly service. National reputation for sourdough bread. Coffee is served : some outdoor seating.
S. M.
A lovely latte was provided with a smile and the pastries looked amazing.... I will have to return and see if they're as good as they look.
M. W.
The coffee and bakery products were excellent but the service was disappointing. 2 coffees were ordered, one arrived. Two cakes ordered but 3 cakes provided. Better training required.

Lovely man who works there in the short hair and glasses, does the best mocha I've ever consumed, my friend is fairly partial to a Pasty and they are delightful pasties at that, and that's coming from a lad who comes from Cornwall!
B. H.
Friendly staff, with tasty baked goods. People can buy fresh milk refills, loaves of bread, nice coffee or a bacon roll.
S. L.
Lovely place on the Gloucester rd Bristol. Had coffee and cake here but good breakfast menu on offer. Busy on Saturday morning

'Award winning bread' - don't think so. Possibly the worst sourdough I've had in Bristol and grossly overpriced. Cakes look old and dry. You'll have to raise your game in Bristol Hobbs.

What a warm friendly place to go for breakfast. Scrambled eggs on sourdough toast with a nice cup of tea and some apple juice. All fresh and all delicious.
L. H.
Nice enough. Good coffee. Cakes and bread look luscious. Soaked oats were nice. Atmosphere is lacking unfortunately.

Popped in to buy some pastries for my colleagues to mark my 10th anniversary in the NHS. Went down like a storm! Their almond croissants have changed my life. Dangerous, living across the road...
B. S.
Great staff, great food and coffee

I only had a take away toastie so I didn't get the full experience but the toastie was good and the cake looked great! It was a bit expensive, but I guess that's to be expected.
P. M.
Spacious café, light and bright interior. Only had coffee which was perfectly acceptable. Home made bread to take away too.
