Reviews of No12 Easton
A. R.
Had a great time here after gymnastics @ Bristol Hawks with my toddler, plus a second toddler, baby and adult. Staff were very accommodating and made child versions of the menu. Super welcoming and friendly - and really great food too. Will definitely go back.
C. S.
Nice little place with outdoor covered seating as well as indoor seating.
The staff were happy to let me place my cycle around the back for safety whilst I ate my food and drank my coffee.
My coffee was the best I've tasted and the sausage roll with mustard is a favourite of mine and the homemade brown sauce was banging 😋
Price's are a tad high for me personally to visit here as often as I'd like but that being said you do get what you pay for and it's worth it 👌

Amazing hidden spot in Easton! Great coffee.
The staff is super nice and helpful.
It is great for couples, friends and family friendly.
I am definitely coming back for a breakfast again!
Good selection of independent wines and beer. The even have some nice Arbor IPAs!
The coffee place to be in Easton!

Recently had lunch here and it was nothing short of DELICIOUS. The atmosphere is great and the staff are always friendly and welcoming and the service was quick! They also sell great wines. Highly recommend.

After a frustrating winter I finally returned to Bristol for a (too) short time, and headed to No12. The same friendly, funny and skilled staff were there, and the lattes they made me were as superb as before. And as before, it sometimes gets it to my table somehow before I've sat down, which is extremely welcome on caffeine-deficient mornings.
There are now two chefs, but the standard of food that comes out of the kitchen remains consistently high - a short menu of various sandwiches and warmer meals on sourdough. I've tried them all, they are all good, and I've been educated a bit (I now know the fancypants name for garlic mayo). I also have several new tracks for my summer playlist from the insanely good one that often plays in there.
The cake selection - decent portions, unlike certain Bristol cafes I could list - remains distracting, and the ambience of the cafe is still Nordic: minimalist, white painted wood, and lots of daylight through big windows. This place feels like a kind of home, where I can eat and drink well (it is, after all, a cafe), decompress, remember how to chill, read and think and figure out life. I look forward to returning for (a lot) longer next time, and hope to see Jasper again.

Friendly staff nice food and the MOST delicious coffee! My fave space.
Still excellent coffee and great atmosphere (04/22).

Best cafe in Easton, amazing quality coffee friendly attentive staff and lovely atmosphere. Best start to the morning when I’m working from home and pop down for a coffee takeaway. Thank you 🙏

12 High Street, BS5 6DL, Bristol,
It's not often you stumble across an absolute 'gem' of a Cafe, but we did today.
We had arranged to go out for lunch but hadn't made any plans about where, so I looked at a few options on line, checked a few web sites and came up with a few suggestions.
We were a multicultural group and our meal preference varied greatly so we had to find somewhere that would cater for all tastes.
In the end we chose No12 Easton and what a great choice.
Parking was a bit of a problem as the roads around Easton tend to be very narrow and full of parked cars.
We made the mistake of coming down the High Street from Belle Vue Road which was a mistake as its particularly difficult to navigate and if you meet a car coming n the opposite direction, theres just nowhere to go.
But we did find a parking space right opposite the Cafe.
When we arrived it was completely full, every table was taken and we were forced to sit outside.
It was a beautiful sunny day but very cold and in the shadows it was even chillier.
We had a conversation with the guy at the counter and agreed to take our drinks outside and wait for a table to become available.
The Coffee (Americano) was a bit too strong for me (I'm new to Coffee and as yet I cant drink too much of it )but I was afraid to dilute it with milk as the milk was cold and sitting outside, I feared it would get too cold, too quickly.
The Tea was a better choice and came in a little tea strainer sat on top of the cup.
However, it wasn't long before a table came available and we were all sat at a scrubbed pine table with a menu each.
The options aren't extensive but anyone who has ever watched Gordon Ramsey tear apart a failing restauranteur will know, if you want to be successful you do the basics and you do them well and this placed does that perfectly.
From its location I suspected this was going to lean toward a Veggie menu so I was pleased to see there was a Full breakfast (£8.95) on the menu plus a Bacon sandwich (£6.50) and what a great sandwich it looked. Though none of us chose it, we simply witnessed it being delivered to the table next to us. But Boy it looked good.
Two of us went for the Veggie Breakfast.(£8.95).
Halloumi, great as a meat substitute.
Marinated portobello mushrooms (this is how mushrooms should taste, they were beautiful. There is no reason why other cafes should serve up a soggy black mess and call it mushrooms).
Roasted vine tomatoes. These were amazing, they apparently roast them in Balsamic Vinegar and the taste is incredible.
Fried egg on Sour Dough. I usually 'moan' about Sour Dough Toast but this was still soft and edible so I had no complaints, though the egg was a bit hard.
I could have lived without the 'Greens' though I did eat all of them and I would have preferred Baked Bean, but hey!
An interesting touch was the pot of home made Brown Sauce which tasted really good.
For a Veggie breakfast it was very filling.
Steve chose the home made soup of the day which was Roasted Butternut Squash with some serious Kicks added by the fresh red Chilli. (£4.95).
Raf went for the Baked Aubergine with tomato, pepper, onion, new potato and yoghurt served with a slice of Sourdough bread.
This was perhaps the smallest portion but it was still a good meal and very tasty.(£7.95).
There was a children's menu and several small people were taking advantage of this.
Service was good though you had to order at the counter but the staff were friendly and welcoming.
Cutlery was clean, as was the whole place with free water available from a bottle on the counter.
In fact this was just a really nice place to hang out and have brunch.
It is clearly popular but being small its limited space may prove to be a problem though in the summer they will be able to use the small garden on the side.
I enjoyed everything about this place, food, atmosphere and service though its not cheap and anyone on a budget might have to treat number 12 as a treat rather than a regular hang out.
That said, us Pensioners will be back again soon.

Great cosy and buzzy cafe & deli with good wine selection both for drinking in and takeaway. Innovative evening vegan tapas menu with Casa Verde chef David Hazell. Also has some undercover, outdoor seating.
D. H.
Great coffee and breakfast menu with a very chilled vibe. Perfect for a weekend recovery breakfast or a relaxing catch-up.
Also have a simple but tasty dinner menu during the week.
L.
Cosy cafe with delicious food, great wine selection and the loveliest staff.
P. H.
Lovely homemade snacks and cakes. I also had a wonderful hot chocolate. Ths staff were welcoming and friendly.
C. P.
Best coffee I've ever tasted! Also, the full Easton breakfast is lovely. Staff are so friendly, and the resident cat Jasper! Highly recommended
A. K.
Great veggie brunch, but the Glamorgan sausages had mustard cooked in which would've been nice to know.
K.
Coffee has been consistently excellent for years and now they sell wine 🥳
J. F.
Grabbed a latte & a bacon, brie and cranberry sandwich yesterday as I’m working just round the corner. I’m not sure what makes some coffees so different to others, but No12 know the magic formula!
Sandwich was also spot on, real homemade feel with tasty fillings. Always nice to support local during times like this.
O. D.
Nice flat white. Good selection of food. Outdoor seating.
H. F.
I swing by 2 or 3 times a week for a coffee and a cake - My particular faves are croissant bread and butter pudding and halva brownie - really good (and big) takeaway sandwiches, and very good physical distancing measures during covid (outside seating available and large indoor space when putting in orders). The bottle shop is fantastic and has a great selection of "i'm sorry I broke your lamp" gift-wines as well as selling some really great local brews in the fridge.
R. R. R.
Food is always lovely and coffee is nice!
A. K.
Great veggie brunch, but the Glamorgan sausages had mustard cooked in which would've been nice to know.

My first visit to this lovely cafe won't be the last - brownie and bacon jam sandwich both delicious, and the little garden is the perfect spot for a cuppa.
A. P.
Best vegan sandwich Ive ever had (portobello mushroom, dehydrated and cooked, with aoili and salad) although very rich, be prepared to take half home with ya!
M. K.
Delicious hot chocolate, piece of art
D. G.
Great coffee and friendly staff in a charming little cafe that looks and feels nice to sit in. Part of what makes Easton so charming. Would recommend.

Independent cafe with plant based options

Fantastic dinner menu. I enjoyed beautifully cooked steak, hasselback potatoes and greens. Good sized potion too. Just started (March 2019). Get down there this month for a great discount.

Nice iced oat latte and tasty pancakes. Service could have been a bit friendlier but was still nice experience.

Excellent real Indian food! Chanced upon the spot during lunch, wasn't busy but we thought we would try it. It was excellent... Lamb Makhni creamy and flavoursome, baby aubergine and beetroot dishes unique and delicious. Naans were hot and fluffy and service friendly and welcoming. Excellent new addition to the great Easton food scene!
L. R.
Found this place by mistake. Not much food options, we had the sausage roll and that was nice and my tea was real tea leaves. Prices seem ok too. A very lively down to earth place with a little seating area outside too
F. S.
Nice café, I had breakfast here :) small but efficient
T. G.
One of the hidden gems of Bristol. The quality of the food & coffee here is awesome. Inside is a super relaxed atmosphere, with a real community vibe, and locally sourced food offerings to buy. Chris (owner) is an absolute legend!
B. L.
What a great little coffee house. Good coffee courtesy of Extract Coffee Roasters and a good selection of ales to choose from if you're in the mood for something stronger. Open till 7pm unless they have an evening planned.
Cafe No. 12 is a great find if you're on your way to Stapleton Road Station.
k. w.
Best coffee in town! Great atmosphere and helpful and friendly staff. Great service.
H. M.
If your hungry then there is only 1 breakfast you can order to make sure you leave full and satisfied, which is £10 and above. Good quality ingredients. Not many seats and a bit pricey
R.
Limited vegan options but those that they have are very good. Sandwich is immensely flavourful. Good vibes. I imagine food place to socialise if you have friends.
A. B.
4 different foodies, all with different tastes and all completely bowled over by the delicious food and great wine selection.
Add friendly service and it’s a winning combination.
We’ll be back!!
a. c.
Nice place good range of healthy stuff . Good coffee .bacon sandwich is not best as advertised . But probably as close as I have found .to what I make at home . Best sausage sandwich is over priced and not very good . I would recommend the best bacon for a £5.50 snack
E. C.
No. 12 in Easton has a comfortable atmosphere with cool décor and great service. The beer and wine selection is considered and interesting – not the same old stuff you get everywhere. But the main reason I have been several times before, and will continue to return, is the food. It is delicious and well-presented, at extremely reasonable prices.
Z. T.
Well, first time I'm writing a comment but it worths :)
Best cafe in town! Definitely!
Great coffee, chilled vibes and beautiful people!
No doubt, my favourite spot :)
Good job guys! 👌👌👍👍👏😊

Had an amazing pig sandwich here. I sometimes will just be sitting around and I'll think of how great that pig sandwich was. it had sausages, bacon and black pudding.
A. J.
Had a nice enough small bite to eat here; black coffee and one of their super-sized sausage rolls. Perhaps a little on the pricey side but the atmosphere was nice and service was quick.
R. A.
Fantastic little café in the heart of Easton. Great coffee and pastries. Really helpful/friendly staff.
K. W.
Nice space. Mixed results. Sometimes the service and quality has been great. Other times the food has been average and staff rude. So i guess it depends who's working that day.
E. W.
Loved it. So friendly, lovely atmosphere. Excellent coffee and the gluten free cake was delicious!
D. B.
Rich wonderful coffee. A cool independent cafe, which is full of life. They also sometimes have great vegan cake here.
H. C.
I love this place, all the food is incredible and the staff are lovely and friendly. It's quite small so expect to have to share your table, but even the punters are friendly so that's fine too.

(Translated) The evening dedicated to sandwiches with hamburgher made me appreciate this place.
It's nothing, but it wants to be outside the box of the brands, so they mostly have products from local producers and alternative drinks.
Spiced coca was much better than traditional coke or pepsi.
