Reviews of Temple Street Canteen

First time here today - we stumbled upon the cafe by accident but what a gem!
Cottage pie was delicious and a sandwich of full size pigs in blankets was first class!
We will definitely be back - keep us a table!
P.
Excellent service and tea. Coffee and walnut cake was superb too.
Love the community fridge, where people can help theirselves to food donated by local businesses.

Amazing food! Had a jacket potato with cheese and coleslaw and my other half had scrambled eggs which he said were amazing! Dog friendly, loads of gluten free/vegan options and lots of great events planned, we're tempted to try out the cheese and wine night!
Z. R.
The staff are so friendly no matter how busy. They make the best vegan BLT ever!!!!! Love love love

Lovely food, drink, atmosphere and staff. Highly recommend the brunch and cakes! 😁 Can't wait to go back again.

Nice food. friendly staff. Breakfast a bit expensive for builders at £9.95 plus a drink . Would go there a gain with partner for coffee and cake 😊

03/22 - awesome scrambled egg!
Update 10/21 - Eaten here under the new owners now and have been impressed the quality of the food, friendliness and relaxed atmosphere has been maintained. The addition of additional breakfast options is a win and would highly recommend the Full English; best in town.q

We have eaten here on numerous occasions and have never been disappointed. Great coffee and cake. Friendly staff create a relaxed atmosphere. The ethos of how the place is run and community focus is a massive bonus.

Absoloutely love this place! Just good home cooking done really well, love that they pair the quiche with a selection of salads gives it that edge of freshness. Would definitely recommend!

Lovely place, fresh salads fresh food, good portions low prices and friendly staff. Coffee not to bad either. We will come back for sure. 👏👏👏

Great menu to suit all tastes. Lovely atmosphere, staff courteous and friendly. Not a direct criticism, merely an observation that may help improve overall experience but, I ordered plain everyday breakfast brew tea. It had a perfumed flavour which wasn't what I wanted. Are teapots used randomly for all teas so that the flavours mingle and are not true to their individual blend? I find this on trains also. Tea has a coffee flavour! I didn't enjoy my tea. I would come again but choose another drink to avoid disappointment. Thanks you for my yummy avocado toast with perfect bacon.

Great little cafe with lovely fresh food. Salads nice and fresh. Staff very nice and friendly. Good coffee. We will be back!

These guys set the bar for independent coffee shops. They have great service, great food, and great local coffee. They also offer great events throughout the week and evenings. On my last visit I realised they also offer a free school meal at half term to help parents with the financial difficulties they can sometimes have at these times. That's just amazing!! They also allow you buy a "pass one on" for a hot drink for the homeless which I did as it is such a simple yet noble cause, especially with the current weather.

First visit after a friend recommended Temple Street Canteen. Very friendly staff, great coffee.

Popped in to have a milk shake and carrot cake too much solid ice in the milk shake, and the carrot cake was very dry unusual for carrot cake
B. L.
A lovely cafe friendly staff and great food plenty to choose from, good cakes and lovely coffee

I'm friends with the owner so had been meaning to visit for quite some time. I finally got round to popping in and was glad we made the trip. Excellent and reasonably priced food, delicious coffee and a nice area upstairs with toys for the kids to play without disturbing other customers.

Healthy, wholesome, home-cooked & totally delicious food! Excellent value for money & gluten-free options available. A little gem!

We had lunch here today and I loved it! I had a salami and cheese toasty and the salad was full of strong flavours (inc beetroot and olives). Very unusual for this country. Staff very helpful and friendly too. Couldn't fault it.

A lovely cafe in Keynsham serving delicious, fresh, homemade lunches, coffee and a great selection of tasty cakes and biscuits too. I love how it's decorated, it’s the perfect place to pop in and catch up with family or friends. The food is also great for vegetarians. I’d definitely recommend a visit and I’ll be back :)
R. C.
Really good for coffee and cakes. With a good menu (see pic). Very child friendly upstairs. The only drawback is it's quite noisy as it's next to the street and there was music playing.
T. I.
Lovely little place for a snack still very amateurish with the delivery and service but the food is delicious
Needs to consider customers needs when ordering food even toasted sandwiches need cutlery and a serviette also bottle of orange juice needs to come with a glass you shouldn’t need to ask for these things they need to be there as part of the service not a request saying all this our light snack was really delicious and we will definitely be returning for the best salad I’ve ever tasted and we will be ready next time to request all the correct implements required attention needs to be addressed to the simple things and will then be perfect

Friendly staff, lovely cakes.

If the chance arises, or even a curious thought to frequent, then do it!!! Top drawer from the greeting, to drinks, to food, to cake to leaving!!! Wonderful, what a gem, thank you!!!!

Room for improvement on the service as it can be a bit slow. Food quite tasty but not a big fan of using a microwave for preparation. I would be back though!
