Reviews of Underfall Cafe

here are tons to pick in the cafe and nice outdoor seating! We picked flat white and latte that day and it was a nice to have one in cool weather~

Lovely cafe! With great service and nice view of the harbour! I think it was reduced service? So only coffees and some ice creams available but there were nice! Some suggestion will be to have the tables wipes since it seemed like there was no wiping and if we can have the tea bag in with milk on the side would have been better.(They put milk with tea bag in same time) Another advice will be if we can have normal mugs rather than paper cups will be even better! Lovely place and would love to come back to try the main menu as well!
J. W.
Always good tasty food - and such a great location to watch the harbour life whilst catching up with friends
C. H.
First visit and really enjoyed it , homemade sausage roll was fab, coffee piping, staff welcoming. Looking forward to a return visit at some point

Wonferful cafe for coffee, lunch or breakfast. Fabulous views of the Dock and dockyard. The toasties are excellent and the fries are some of the best I have ever had.

Great place, food was reasonably priced and good quality . Staff are confident and friendly. Lovely location to watch the dock yard and boats. Good activities to keep all ages entertained.
T. D.
Great spot for a relaxed lunch beside the docks. Food, drinks and ice cream available. Some little activities and info about the yard inside.

Was very surprised to find this café that I never knew about and shown to me by a friend
Find a table and go in and order and they bring the order out
Tasty cake and good coffee
E. B.
What a fantastic cafe! The staff were really busy on Sunday afternoon but they were friendly and our food came quicker than warned. The special paninis that day were absolutely delicious and big portions for the price. Lovely atmosphere and location at the shipyard. Keep up the good work!

Pickle is in a beautiful setting overlooking the water and the boat yard with deck chairs, tables and chairs to sit at and enjoy the fresh food and good coffee. Highly recommend for a relaxing breakfast or lunch.

Edit August 2020: Back to high quality sausages! Great service and food. Lovely place to enjoy the view on a sunny day.
What happened to the sausages? Put my son and I off the double trouble. Please go back to standard sausages with the chunky bread. Otherwise love the place and will be back in hope food is as good as it used to be.

A simple delight, to sit and watch the world go by...you can sit in the sunshine and watch the rippling water as you take the weight of your feet..the coffee and tasty comestables suit the easy going environment...nothing is hurried as you watch the ferries ply their trade and the little boats bob in the sunshine

An unexpected cafe in a great industrial museum within the Floating Dock basin of Bristol. Just round the corner from the SS Great Britain.
D. D.
Good coffee and a chilled place to drink it with nice view of the harbourside
J. F.
Very nice sandwiches, lovely location and worth stopping by if you're hungry/thirsty and in the area.
3 stars as the kitchen struggled with volume of people and had run out of a items that ruled out several parts of the menu. This also meant that it took more than 30 mins for two sandwiches to arrive.
I will visit again in future and give 4 stars if I have a better experience
L. C.
Great quirky place to eat light meals but top quality and freshly prepared. Staff first class
Basic seating but suites the building. Lots of outside picnic tables for sunny day ice creams
Well worth a visit , fresh baked cakes as well

They say Brunel's Buttery is the place to be. But Pickle is well and truly on the map! Steeped in history with amazing views from their dockside terrace I fell in love with the place. And talking about love the warm & friendly welcome I received from Natasha & Rosie was great too. The coffee & food delicious. A must visit. I did the circular walk around the Harbourside and this is the perfect place to stop for a rest & refuel.

A nice cafe in the under fall yard. They serve good tea and coffee, I have tried their toast which is very good. Pleasant and efficient service. Inside seating for wet days and outside seating with a fine view up the harbour.
T. R.
Seating is currently outside due to Covid. Menu of soup, snacks, sardines and beverages. I eat lunch there regularly, arrive before noon or all tables might be occupied, speaks for itself.
A.
Came for drinks and ice cream. Busy day so there was a long que. After paying it turned out there had been a mistake with the order, although the mistake was rectified quickly when realised. Seating outside next to the water was nice. Some interesting things for kids to do and see relating to the historic Dock inside.

I use the cafe every day. Really friendly staff I have known for years
J. T.
It's great. Situated in an interesting and well explained mini museum about the yard and the floating harbour.
All the food is nice and so are the people working there.
A. J.
I would like to say very little about this place so that others are not encouraged to visit and dine there, I really like this place partly because of Pickle as a sandwich bar but mainly because the Underfall Yard is such a wonderful place that rightly celebrates the industrial and engineering heritage that Bristol is so steeped in and which I consider is being progressively dumbed down and downplayed. Go here, eat here and look at the work our ancestors designed without a laptop or a tablet or email or the Internet that contributed so significantly to Bristol's place in our once great maritime nation
E. D.
Gorgeous view, a great spot for a beer and decent gluten free bread with their sandwiches. Though they can take a while to come so don't expect a flying visit!
M. C.
Stunning location, top three coffees I've had in Bristol, great sandwiches at a very reasonable price. Slightly out of the city centre and a bit of a hidden gem.
A. H.
Interesting information on how the sluice gates for Bristol Harbour operate, also good coffee and great bacon rolls, lovely view across the harbour and outdoor bench seating
N. F.
Great setting, looks like a good menu although we only had cakes. One star deducted for tea in paper cups and not mugs 😉
R. H.
Friendly staff, reasonably priced fresh food and fantastic location at the underfall yard - free entry and we'll worth a look around and chatting with will informed volunteers about the crucial role it played for Bristol's floating harbour.
N. O.
Great place to spend your day in sunshine and watch the boats passing by. No sounds from traffic. Best Earl Grey tea I have ever tasted.
M. F.
An old workshop converted to have a few interactive displays for kids (and adults) to learn about the harbour. Great breakfast items for kids and adults, mine loved the porridge pots!
P.
Great bacon rolls. Bacon cooked to order so we had crispy. Perfect place for lovely alfresco food.
R. C.
Tucked away at the back of the room, the food was good and very reasonably priced. It was nice to be able to sit outside on a part of the waterfront that hasn't previously been open to the public too.
l. M.
Qwerky cafe in the museum, well worth a lunch time visit.
D. R.
Amazing, there are plenty of things to keep children busy for at least 30min and you can have your coffee relaxed 🙂
R. P.
Great location, but didn't buy anything as it was a 30min wait even for a coffee.
A. D.
Lovely friendly staff. Has cakes, ice-cream and healthy lollies. Lovely for a nice break on the harbour side walk.
E. K.

D. W.
Lovely coffee friendly staff were told we would need to wait for our drinks as they were busy. Coffee came after the quoted wait time with a smile and an apology
