R. P.As many of my reviews will show - I do like a cafe and a cooked breakfast, so I’m not sure how I’ve managed to miss this place for so long. Staff are next level friendly and chatty and the food was superb. I was barely sat down with my coffee in the covered garden area before my breakfast was in front of me, cooked perfectly and piping hot.
This is really straightforward cafe food cooked superbly with fresh ingredients. The prices are also startlingly good value, both for the quality and quantity but also compared to others in the Cardiff area. Definitely worth popping in if passing or making a trip for.

It's a bit off the beaten path but definitely worth the visit. It feels like a family business that's been there for years.
The food was great, the service even better and best of all it's very affordable.
There is also a small garden in the back.

J. B.We went there for a real British food experience, and it was brilliant! The staffs were very nice and kind to us. They even offer double/mini/vegetarian(which is the one we took) options as well. With the jacket potato, you can order different toppings.
Every single menu is made with a lot of efforts, thus they’re all so yummy. When I ordered the chocolate milkshake, a gentleman who served it asked me if it was sweet enough, which was very considerate thing to do.
No wonder why this places is always full of people! Thank you so much for our very pleasant experience (: definitely recommend it both for the locals and visitors in Wales!

We had the breakfast which we could substitute anything we didn't want for stuff we did which was ace! Good value food! Excellent customer service. I had veggie breakfast (foreground) with everything it came with on the menu and a really good coffee as well! My girlfriend had the mini breakfast and substituted a couple of items on the menu! Lovely seating area outside at the back as well!
A. C.I had the full breakfast. The prices are cheap and the service was fine but you get what you pay for in quality. The bacon, sausage, black pudding, and toast (on white bread) were all subpar compared to the other (admittedly more expensive) places I ate in Cardiff.

b.Perfect food. It’s been a while since I’ve had breakfast here, but it was so good that I had to think of it. On the last day of my trip to Cardiff a few friends took me here and I definitely advise everyone else to go here too. Great service, not too expensive and delicious!

The food especially if your a student is so well priced and the staff are always quick to make sure you have everything you need. Offering bottles of water to take with you for free and always offering a free tea or coffee.
The food is always nice, nothing fancy just good well prepared food. Always go for a full breakfast with hash brown and add black pudding. Can't go wrong and if ever wanting food always recommend it to friends and are always going if feeling rough in the morning from the night before.

F.My very favorite breakfast establishment in Cathays, and in fact most of Cardiff! I find myself there every Saturday morning with my little one for beans on toast or sausage sandwiches, we attempt the full breakfast if we're really hungry!
I really can't recommend this cafe enough, generous portions of wonderful food (always hinez beans and real butter--the luxury!) and the friendliest service going. You'll be made to feel at home, your drink made just how you like it and some great banter too. Absolutely tops!

Can't go wrong, we will be back.

The service was appalling. When you put your order in you should be told its a 40 min wait. And not wait for the waitress to drop!! the food in front of you and to forget to apologise for that 40 min wait. Not everyone gets a an hour for break. No excuse for rudeness.

W. G.Absolutely fantastic. It's just a little old fashioned cafe, like something you might see in EastEnders in the earlier days. But let me tell you they cook that food well and are proud of it. The staff are all brilliant and cannot do enough to make you feel at home. It was almost like I was back in my mother's kitchen. You order at the till and pay before you eat, I didn't have any cash on me and it was cash only, but the gentleman said I could go to the cash machine after my meal and not to worry about it before I ate. It was very trusting of him but made me feel welcomed. The prices are very reasonable and they do dinner as well as breakfast. If you want a delicious home cooked meal with none of that fuss you get in most restaurants, you need to go here! Make sure you thank me later and enjoy your meal!

I have been a customer at Elmers for years. The owner is extremely friendly and can't do enough for his customers. It's quite common to be offered little extras here free of charge. A nice courtyard garden at the rear of the premises is a great place to eat breakfast on a sunny day. Thoroughly recommend Elmers. Can't say enough good things about it and the very friendly and welcoming staff.

The only thing that let us down was the taller younger lady who told a repeat customer that they were out of mushrooms for the omelette but didn't tell us, as my father had also ordered one but only said anything when I called her over to say I'd overheard her conversation. When she was then serving the plates she was in so much of a rush she practically threw the plates onto the table and they were nowhere near where we were sat at the table.

At times the restaurant is filled to the brim, which testifies only to the excellent home-made taste of dishes served at very low prices.
Details such as a waitress with a wide smile from the threshold shouting 'Good morning' or coffee served in a simple mug, makes this place a unique place.

Personale gentile e disponibile, un paio di clienti abituali ci hanno aiutato con le indicazioni stradali senza nemmeno che lo chiedessimo.
Il cibo era caldo e gustoso, poca differenza fra la mini breakfast e la full. Il tè era molto buono e tipico inglese. In tutto abbiamo speso 8 sterline per 2 quindi i prezzi sono più che abbordabili.
