The staff is also always super friendly.
Nice interior, but the tables outside in the beautiful Arcade is perfect for some people watching.

D. W.Hunger is the best spice means that you often think that things you eat when you are hungry taste better, simply because of your empty stomach. This doesn’t mean they actually taste better to someone who is not as hungry.
Vietnam Egg Coffee is nice tough, come with yolkie on top of full flavor strong coffee. Unique stuff 🫠
Fantastic Bahn mi baguette 🥖 & tasty “ Pho ”.
Staff was polite without any positive attitude.

C. P.Egg coffee was a great surprise so nice light and fluffy drank it in seconds at £3 it's not the cheapest but we'll worth a try.
The coconut coffee was good too but was so much we left half.
Traditional seating upstairs was great way to enjoy the Traditional coffee in a great setting.
t. 2.Good tea, great hot chocolate. I would give 4 stars because they seem to always be out of grilled chicken Baguettes which are my favourite. But the girl who served me today is cute so I'll let it pass.

W.Great Vietnamese EGG Coffee (which is something like 2in1 - dessert when you receive it and it just the yolkie, mega sweet top or proper, full flavour strong coffee with sort of whipped cream after mixing two letters together - which is quite important to mention about because some people seems to don't know how to deal with that, reading opinions).

Very unique cuisine which needs to be discovered to be appreciated properly.
Restaurant of the interior side (exteriors are splendid coz itsy based in beautiful Victorian - 'Morgan Arcade') could be much more nicer with more South East Asian elements but still brings some street/truck food free associations.
Staff was polite but without any positive attitude.
Maybe they are tired or afraid of all of those Covid-restricsions.
Nevertheless I'm gonna be back to get some more of theirs delicious, unique stuff 😋

G. M.When visiting Cardiff, I am forever torn between having lunch in Pho or Hanoi 1991 - more often than not, Hanoi 1991 wins the vote, due to the authentic family feel of the restaurant.
Thoroughly enjoyed their Hanoi 1991 Special Pho with braised brisket and copious amounts of coriander. The broth was full of flavour and didn’t need too much tampering: perfect for a rainy afternoon.
We sat upstairs on one of their raised stage seating and zabutons, loved the decor and enjoyed a Vietnamese Egg Coffee with Cinnamon.
Friendly staff, cosy atmosphere, delicious Pho, great price and fantastic location.
G. T.My husband and I are desperate to go to Vietnam but, in the meantime, we thought we'd sample the authentic cuisine at Hanoi 1991. We both decided to try the Beef Pho, which was both fresh and flavoursome (and gave us the opportunity to refine out chopstick skills!). I also sample one of their delicious cinnamon egg creme drinks which was utterly creamy. I heartily recommend this establishment and will undoubtedly be back in the future.

The baguettes are delicious and really enjoyed the brown sugar pearl drinks (very hard to find bubble tea that isn't too sweet!)
Only downside was that they didn't have any egg coffee and that overall the items were a bit pricey for the portions! (£10 for a sandwich and a drink)

Recommend egg coffee authentic, the taste is palatable, don't get thrown off by the name, it's sweet and creamy foam from egg yolk and bottom is the intense espresso like black coffee. Try to taste the foam then stir! Next should try would be the everyday Viet brown coffee, made up of condensed milk and Viet coffee. The aroma of the coffee bean is really addictive. Not as strong as what you get from Asia countries but, close enough.

M. D.The Best bagguette in Cardiff. I had a Vietnamese grilled pork baguette. First impression was not good as I saw mainly carrot on top, but I Was Very Wrong ... Lots of well marinated grilled pork underneath with cucumber, corriander and crunchy fried shallot. The taste was also amazing with a little bit spicy sauce. Highly recommend this place.

Would reccommend taking advantage of their great lunch deal which is a baguette & a coffee for £5.95- super worth it. m. g.We love Vietnamese food and coffee and were delighted when we stumbled across this atmospheric coffee house in Cardiff. The ambience was spot on and some elements of the offer were superb.
The coffee was good. It could have been better though. Mainly since one of the UK’s main Vietnamese coffee importers, Dragon Coffee, is based in the same city.
The Pho was good too. The brisket was superb, simmered perfectly and very tasty. The noodles were grand. Cooked to perfection. The stock had probably not been simmered long enough since the normally mouth watering liquor was almost tasteless. The bánh mi filling was tasty even though the roll was just an English bun.
The staff were lackadaisical and the toilets were plain dirty.
All in all not to be recommended.
S. K.Best Pho I've had. Tried Pho Franchise before but it Cannot Compare to the Pho in here. Hanoi1991 are serving real authentic Pho, I dont want to eat beef so I tried the tofu but the Broth of them is superb, full of taste and aromatic. I will eat here regularly.

T. P.They serve Real Pho, Real Noodle, eating in here then you never come to any Vietnamese franchise restaurants. All foods here are the most authentic in Wales. Sorry for the photo, it is much more delicious than in photo.

L. T. (.*Visited around 2019* had the Vietnamese egg coffee - it was just foam no actual coffee. I went to Vietnam in 2020 and the egg coffee there was like actual coffee just super creamy and smooth. It was nothing like the version I had here. If I ordered the wrong version fair enough but it should be renamed, tbh no advice is given when odering.
The cake was nice but one piece would be enough for 2 people as its quite a large slice and too stodgy after a few pieces. Photographs good but sadly was not as nice as I hoped. I know since I've visited there is more food to try so may consider this.
C. B.I came to the shop on their Independence Day. Very crowded in there but I got my food and drinks after 5 minutes, they gave number for customers to avoid mistake, very clever and well organized. The Grilled pork Banhmi and Matcha bubble tea are the best, you can't find anywhere in Wales have that kind of bubble. Highly recommend

L. W.Fresh tasty food which caters for meat lovers, veggies and vegans. The speciality Vietnamese coffees were a novel treat. I almost felt like I was travelling again! We enjoyed special beef pho, bbq tofu bahn mi, iced coffee with condensed and regular milk, and a whipped egg coffee too. They clearly use good quality espresso for all the coffee bases. 10/10, would recommend for coffee or a light casual meal.

The reason you haven't got a 5 star is because of the coffee. I know that it made not be traditional to do decaf coffee, but because of that I could relive the full experience with a Vietnamese coffee. If you were to bring it on your menu, you would widen your audience in order for them to experience a taste of Vietnam. I hope this is something to consider for your business. I would love to taste it and I'm sure many other would too!
