I can't give this place enough stars for their amazing food. This is the best veggie full English breakfast I've had. The amounts were very generous and the taste was just perfect. When it started raining they gave us an umbrella (not that useful) but still resourceful. Lovely vibe and staff as well!

Lots of road works outside, but there is a garden at the back which is shielded from the noise. Friendly staff. Delicious food. I would recommend the coconut milkshake. I had two it was so nice. Reminded me of trips to Thailand.

Other than having to sit under a regular umbrella wedged in the table outside my visit was immensely pleasant, brilliant oat milk latte's which can be difficult (as a vegan bartender I know the struggle) but also the tofu scramble was amazing, though I struggled to eat it all I was thoroughly impressed. I still have them 5 stars because personally I don't find things like the umbrella situation a problem, I honestly enjoy going out my comfort zone and it offered quite a bit of charm to my time here!

The best gingerbread latté I've had to start and then the breakfast tower was really nice as well. Staff were beyond helpful with allergies, they checked everything for my nuts and seeds allergies. Even the gingerbread men on top of the latté. Would definitely go back.

Lovely little coffee shop on crwys road. It’s small, but really cosy with nice comfortable seats. Popped in for a coffee while waiting for some friends. Coffee was great, had a flat white and was nice white a good blend of coffee and was strong. Staff were great and really helpful. Recommended.

We had the Stag Breakfast and a Christmas special - Jingle Balls. The portion for the Stag was pretty huge as they had two of everything. The eggs were almost perfectly runny - just the way I liked it. The Jingle Balls had perfectly seasoned pork meatballs and cranberry sauce. The portion was rather small but for the price, it’s just about right. The staff were friendly and had a quaint atmosphere, decorated with stag wallpapers. Not bad. :)

Stag Coffee 🦌 Veggie Breakfast 🍅 £7.95 💰 Americano £2.45 🤑 Stag Coffee have been one of my favourite breakfasting locations for years now, when people ask me where in Cardiff can I go go for a really nice Breakfast, it's top of my list of recommendations. The price is right for this sort of Today I've decided to try something new, I'm sampling their vegetarian breakfast. Let's dive in shall we? 🏊 For starters, the Glamorgan veggie Sausages are absolutely fabulous, nice and crispy but with a creamy cheese leek and breadcrumb filling. Delightful. And they went perfectly with the fried mushrooms which were well seasoned and nicely cooked. A lush, fruity, halved grilled tomato cuts through the grease, whilst the baked beans presentation is better for it, the ramekin takes up a lot of real estate and the huge doorstop slices of toasted bread with lashings of butter would have provided a perfect landing site instead. The fried eggs were spot on with nice runny yolks. It's all going great at this point... But then we get to the hashbrowns... they are a massive letdown. Whoever was in the kitchen has had a right mare, they're nowhere near the ideal level of golden crispyness that one should expect. And as one of the most important parts of the breakfast, the rating is really going to take a hit. Service was a sticking point for me, it's not a big place stag, but they make the best of the space they can which means squeezing a fair few people into the place. I'll take that on the chin, they told us it'd be a squeeze when they found us a table. No problem. But that combined with someone accidentally turning the Sonos up to rave volume levels halfway through our visit, and then played both 'push it' by salt'n'peppa followed by 'all that she wants' by 'ace of base'... it was enough to turn a great breakfast with friends into an absolute car crash. Considering we arrived at peak breakfast time on a Sunday; we only had to wait about 5-10 minutes for a table and the waiter did an excellent job of keeping us up to date every few minutes. The place was incredibly busy but we didn't feel uncomfortable. Our drinks and breakfast arrived within about 10-15 minutes of sitting down. Cannot fault the food or service we received especially considering how busy it was. Keen to come back and try another dish soon. Will no doubt be a regular for us in future. Our pancakes were great but arguably a bit pricey when you consider what you're actually recieving. The full cooked breakfast looks immense too.

Always the best café in Cathays, even Cardiff for a decent breakfast, lunch or brunch with a cup of Joe. I would say twisting the traditional styles in good ways to turn dishes nicer in terms of both flavours and presentations is why this cosy café became my number one café, and I always missed it even when I was out of this country in the last few years.

New to Cardiff. Found this great cafe when wondering around the area. Dog friendly, vegan friendly and has copious space with a front and rear garden, plus a back room. Great coffee/food with enough options to please everyone. Definitely my new go to place on my days off!

Had a breakfast planned here after seeing it offered gluten free pancakes, which sounded amazing. One member of the group ordered the GF pancakes, while the rest had the usual pancakes with berries, bananas and syrup. However, when we got the breakfasts, the GF pancakes were tiny and from what we were told, seemed like they were shop bought. Really unfortunate, especially since they were an extra 50p, and we'd seen the reviews and thought it was definitely worth a visit. The normal pancakes were absolutely lovely, tasted great and were such a generous size. Shame the GF ones weren't like. Would go again though and try the veggie breakfast though.

Great little independent coffee shop, had our first visit today and it was amazing we brought our dog, they offered us water for him (we already had brought a bottle and his bowl with us) they also gave us a sausage cut up for him. To keep him entertained while we ate. We both had the Stag burger and for just under £10 you can't go wrong, a big bowl of chips and a burger to match with great fresh salad on it. Honestly an amazing place to eat and enjoy just tucked away on crwys Road

Lovely little place Nice staff - offered to turn music down for our baby (no need but nice to offer!) Had the Stag breakfast which was huge Really good quality food cooked really well. It was amazing. Also had smashed avocado on toast with bacon, again great food and well presented. Bit tricky as we had a buggy with us and there isn't oodles of room to get around tables but it worked. Would definitely recommend.

Love it here have been a few times. The customer service is exceptional. Everyone knows their job roles and work hard as a team they are very friendly and helpful. I always chose the vegan breakfast here and it is insane. I love the mushrooms!! Dont change a thing about them. I really enjoyed my late breakfast here. Great music, friendly and attentive staff, cool decor.. Most importantly, my meal was seasoned well without overdoing it ~ especially the mushrooms, which were cooked to perfection. I'd never tried black pudding until today, and it was great! The most amazing staff. Always smiling, couldn't be more helpful and really look after everything. The place itself is also incredible. I sat outside in midwinter as there was a fire that was perfect temperature to be able to eat out there, and there were also blankets on the end of each bench. 😍 To top off my experience here, the food was absolutely delicious and the hot drinks were mental, and what we paid was definitely what we had experienced. Best breakfast in Cardiff! Veggie and vegan options are great and the breakfasts are massive. The place looks amazing and the staff are always really friendly and helpful. It's also dog-friendly (always the sign of a good place) but our dogs are too excitable to bring in and had to be left in the car. When our server realised this, he gave us a box of cut up sausages to take to them. If that isn't amazing service, I'm not sure what is!

I always forget how big the breakfasts are here! Whenever we go staff are helpful and kind. The food always tastes great and is reasonably priced. I'd recommend their halloumi sandwich, and their coffees pretty good too. Certainly a nice place to check out if you're in Cathays, also great for students.

The food is really nice andthe place itself is really cozy. I'd highly recommend the stag breakfast if you get chance. The reason I haven't given 5 stars is twofold. Firstly they are very inflexible on swapping anything on the breakfast. Something which is accepted at every other place I have ever been. The other reason is the staff, they can be really stuck up and unfriendly to the point of occasionally being rude to customers. The advice I would give the owners is to get your staff trained up better in customer service. I expect mediocre customer service from untrained students working part time. But I don't expect them to be rude.

Gave us our drinks (SOME WERE COLD) while waiting for a table but they said they were going to seat us in 10 mins, but an hour later we went in and our drinks were cold but couldn't heat up are drinks and didn't offer a replacment. I decided to go to Stagg today and try one of their famous Sandwiches. I went for the LGBT (lettuce, guacamole, bacon and tomato) and a caramel latte. I can honestly say that is the best guacamole I have ever had in my life! the bacon was so thick and the salad was really fresh. I also don't think I've ever had such a well seasoned sandwich, it was delicious! The staff are great, and make you feel welcome. Fast service and with a smile. I could not recommend this place anymore! My only regret is not going sooner. Thank you Stagg 😁

A lovely place hidden away in Cardiff. I really enjoyed my latest visit to Stag Coffee. had previously popped in for a chai latte on passing but today I decided to stop for lunch with my partner. I had a great burger with beautiful chips, my partner had a veggie sandwich which he thoroughly enjoyed. My only thought is that the 'at seat' service seemed unnecessary as there was few people and it didn't really suit the places atmosphere. The place has a great 'hipster' vibe with lots of things to occupy your mind in the background while having a tea. Overall, I suggest you give it a try to bring out your inner hipster
