R. P.This is a cracking local cafe that does exactly what it says on the tin - breakfast and lunch with a lovely menu that is cooked almost on front of you! The food was great and came out piping hot and as can be seen from photos - portions are outstanding for the prices. The staff are lovely and judging by the conversations, many of the people coming here are regulars, which is not surprising for the welcome, quality and value for money.

M. W.I don't know why this place was recorded as permanently closed. I would be devastated if it was! So I reported this as incorrect, and now Google shows it as being open again.
I've been coming here - with friends, colleagues and family for over 10 years. It's one of the few cafes who will happily swap something you don't like on the set menu, for something you do.
If the owners are reading this - you'll hopefully know me, as I always have a large breakfast, and swap the black pudding for an extra hash brown.
The staff are so lovely - especially Maria - so patient and calm even if a million things are happening at once. Amazing.
The food is never swimming in grease - and it's never too dry - they cook bacon in a way that makes me drool and salivate with every bite! The whole plateful is just divine perfection. They seem to know exactly how I like my food (and that's always slightly overcooked).
The coffee is pretty lush too - you don't get a skin on the top - it's a really nice blend.
Oh - and the price is right too - I spent £13 on two meals and 3 cappuccinos. Look how much you get!!!
But beware - this is a *very* popular cafe - if you don't time it right - you might have to wait for a table - but they'll squeeze you in somehow!
P. S.I went into the Tuck in because I happened to be in the area and it's a cafe o used years ago.
I wasn't disappointed. Same friendly greeting, and Same good food.

M. “. M.Thrilled the Tick In is open again with same friendly staff. The cafe has been refurbished recently and looks great inside. My hubby and I went there for breakfast this morn and the food and coffee was lovely. Like most places they've had to put prices up a bit but they took the time to explain why & to ensure we enjoyed our breakfast. They still concentrate on providing good quality food & hot drinks. Will be back there again soon!

T.Sunday lunch price has crept up from £4.99 in 2014 to £7.99 now however it is still excellent value for money for 2 courses - a proper roast dinner with all the trimmings and apple tart with custard. I am usually too full to eat the pudding straight away so I take my own takeaway carton with me and they let me take it away to eat it later :)
S.The BEST cooked breakfast in Cardiff by far, the coffee is superb & the staff can't do enough for you. I recommend the Tuck In Cafe to everybody.

M. M.Haven't been to the Tuck Inn for a long, long time but it's still just as great as it ever was. Dropped in for a coffee today and although I didn't have time for food I'll definitely be coming back soon for one the lovely breakfasts (I saw enough of what everyone else was having to know how good the food is!). Beautifully clean inside, comfortable seating and blessed with friendly staff - fantastic cafe!
