R. F.Great place and location. it is a common ground for people to meet usually crowded but most of them working on their laptops. Flight white has inconsistent quality of foaming and extra hot and a bit watery. The taste was good sometimes, mostly chocolate and caramel but one time I had an apple like acidity which was not expected.the brownies and chocolate muffin are delicious. The loyalty card is an added value as well

The dark chocolate brownie was surprisingly dense, fruity & salty, flavour bomb! Loved it! Afternoon ambience was nice, can't imagine how lush it'd be in the evening if they were open 💜 We'll be back with others x
N. T.Visited Uncommon on a Saturday, so it was a bit crowded. Cappuccinos are on point and costs 2.90 which is quite affordable. Coffee not too strong or big. They have a wide range of desserts and bakeries which look tasty and costs around 3 GBP. However I felt like the place is a bit unorganized and too dark, I know it is the aesthetic of the place but I believe it needs to be maintained a bit. Overall a good experience.

I ordered the salami, brie, rocket and chutney sourdough. It came warmed, with perfectly melted brie. It looked like a really healthy pizza. It tasted gorgeous!

C. D. (.Great specialty coffee, always freshly roasted. They roast their own coffee and there's different beans on offer. You can buy the bags of fresh coffee as well. The place is cosy and has different types of tables, a really big one for socialising or quietly sipping your brew, smaller tables and the window top for people watching in the arcade :) I've been there several times, and they always had a good coffee.

Decor is fit for a coffee shop, old fashioned kettles hanging as light fixtures and a chalkboard wall denoting where the beans come from but let’s get to what you are here for: the food and beverage. The coffee tastes great and the real mind blower was the breakfast burrito. 11/10 would eat again. We contemplated moving here for it honestly. My boyfriend got the lemon drizzle cake and he is somewhat of a self-proclaimed connoisseur of all lemon desserts. He said it was the best he has had. If you are questioning coming here, don’t. Just go.

However, I was not able to find the WIFI for this cafe which as a student is a bit disappointing as it is hard to work without access to the internet. Maybe I just missed it but having been there twice now and still not finding the WIFI I assume they don't have any.
A.Far too expensive, coffee servings far too small. Home roast is respectable but probably a sham. Better off going to 200 degrees if you want a home roast in Cardiff. A good place to work nonetheless, if not a little.. communal. Cozy! Nice food.

I'm not a big coffee person and I really like the coffee here! Amazing with cake. If you get a chance defintely get the sticky toffee cake (best one I've had so far). I'm probably going to be a regular honestly, get a couple coffee's, get work done, and enjoy the very chill environment. It has been really nice to stop by after a night shift (7pm-7am) where I need to stay awake longer to get my sleep schedule back to normal. Thanks Uncommon Ground's!

In Cardiff, where my wife and I recently spent 3+ days, Uncommon Ground Coffee Roastery was that spot. The space is casual and comfortable, the tea is excellent, and they have a superb selection of cakes (do not leave Cardiff without trying the chocolate ginger ...). And ticking the final box, it's a family-owned and operated business. Don't miss it.
J. S.I don't frequent Cafe's often. However, I must admit the service made me want to visit this venue. The server made chit chat and seemed genuinly interested in talking to me as I waited for my beverage. The setting is also cosy. Good place to work in a nice part of town. Will visit again.
J. P.In a world of corporate coffee chains, finding a good independent coffee house is a blessing. Great space, plenty of tables and (most importantly) good tasting coffee. However, servings are small and as such are comparatively expensive to the regular chains (but again, it is very nice coffee).

C. W.Reasonably priced, but if you're there all day it can be pricey. WiFi runs out after 1-2 hrs, so you have to invest a fair bit to stay there all day and get another code. Very cold usually and quite dark, so whilst it's a good working spot, it's not that comfortable. Still one of the more peaceful working spots which is very centrally located.

M. M.It's really nice to see a number of independent coffee shops popping up in the city centre at last with a consistent good quality roast and FRESH tasty snacks to boot. The cookie cutter chains have become so bland, boring and predictable now, their usually the last choice on my list.
Uncommon Ground is relaxing, informal and a real treat for coffee lovers tucked away in one of Cardiff's beautiful Victorian arcades. I love the different roasts on offer and i don't feel pressured into "upgrading" beans or having to turn down dry tasteless muffins! The staff are really friendly and the overall atmosphere is one of calm contemplation. Another huge plus for me is it's usually devoid of lazy parents with screaming kids and i make no apologies for saying that. Many coffee chains have now become impromptu day care centres where enjoying a quiet coffee is as rare as a politician telling the truth!

First impression is that it's a straight to the point coffee station, great tasting coffee with fresh coffee grounds, no syrup options so that you experience the authentic coffee taste, and a good selection of cake slices and muffins. It's got an open but calm ambiance to it, slightly dim-lighted but I like it. Free WiFi; I've got 4G unlimited data, but you only get one bar of signal in the quarter, so free stable WiFi is a good thing. Nice baristas too.
M.Excellent quality breakfast and good value. The pain aux raisins was fresh with perfect pastry, and the smoked salmon bagel very yummy. My partner went with the porridge with berries and a pain au chocolat, and declared herself most content. Tea and coffee also very good.

N. R.Another in a group of coffee shops to hit Cardiff centre in what seemed like weeks, I'd sort of avoided Uncommon Ground because I couldn't see it offering anything new.
And it doesn't really, but it does the expected well. There's a wide coffee selection which had me confused for a little while at the options on offer, and a great food menu featuring the standard sandwiches, paninis and cakes, but both tasted far better than what you'll find in Starbucks and were around the same price.
It's also a little more comfortable than I expected, with a welcoming lack of harsh lighting for when you want to hide away a little.

The coffee is really good though but the staff don't really listen to you. After asking for a specific wrap, then the wrong one being brought over, upon pointing out the mistake they quipped back with "this isn't a make your own kind of place" to which I had to point out I was aware of this, they'd just brought me the wrong one out of the selection they had. So... Bit snotty.
