Love this place!
I'll admit it's hit and miss most of the time but the food can be awesome! They aren't always open during opening times which is annoying.
The jerk pork used to be amazing but they must have a new chef and recipe as it's not as good anymore and that's a real shame as it was by far my favourite dish from here.
Edit: I had the jerk pork again recently and it was different again! but this time it had returned to its lovely deep rich flavour.
The staff are very nice and welcoming all the time.
They do a buffet on a Saturday where you can eat all you like for £8 a head. I've never been to this but would assume it's the best way to try out the dishes if your not sure what to have. Not everything is spicy so don't be affraid to ask them what's good if you don't like spicy food.

CBA to cook, so I ordered from the S and S Caribbean Cafe opposite Wilkinson. I haven't eaten any Caribbean food for about 30 years, so I wasn't sure what to expect. They are really reasonable, and I got plenty of bang for my buck. To start I had salt fish fritters, fried plantain and chicken wings. They supplied a lovely small but fresh salad to go with this. The picture is of half the starters supplied. Not bad eh?
Main course, not such a pretty picture, but tasty, was curry goat and rice and peas. The meat fell off the bone and was absolutely delicious.
Slightly different to my memory, but I can't remember what day it is, let alone 30 years ago. All in all for a good value blow out, not bad. You will have suck bones though if you go for the goat!

Form being a boring eater to having a lovely jerk chicken curry, I also had a try of the goat curry and the ox tail curry the meat was tender and succulent and the sauce was full of flavour with spices that wasnt spicy highly recommend!!
The lovely lady who was serving made me feel comfortable and when I got full there was also an option to take the rest away
The rest of colchester need to come in and have a look to get a lesson in hospitality
Thank you for an outstanding meal and making me feel welcome

Really friendly, tasty, but they didn't seem to be expecting customers. Not sure about the freshness or cleanliness...
