Booked a surprise 50th at the Bean Caffè after having a couple of Liberty's fuddle boxes at home (super impressed) and then finding The Caffè was related and a possible party venue. Swain and Liberty could not have been more helpful both through the booking process and on the day. The food was superb (grazing table and pizzas later on), venue was perfect and was great to be able to use own music with speakers provided by the venue. We had so many positive comments from our guests. Would highly recommend.

Absolutely amazing evening last night at Bean Cafe for my delayed birthday party which was earlier in the year and not possible due to Covid! Can’t recommend Swain and his excellent staff at Bean highly enough they made the night truly memorable and so enjoyable. A great location and setting for my celebrations and Libby put on a delicious Italian style buffet. Rich the DJ recommended by Swain was also brilliant and I would definitely recommend him to help create a memorable occasion!

Well, what can I say, I’ve been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Today’s choice was tomato soup with a cheese toastie, WOW! Homemade, deliciousness is what it is. My partner had a baked potato with tuna mayo which I’m reliably informed is equally delicious. Goes without saying I recommend this place, clean, free WiFi and lovely staff, what more do you want. Get yourselves along and enjoy.

Fantastic place to just come, buy a coffee, sit and have a chat. My first time here, was quiet enough. Light airy environment and fantastic staff. Paid £5 for a cake and coffee but quality the service and the taste makes it worth it.

We love the Bean Cafe which we visited only yesterday. Ordered some very nice coffee and two very nice doorstop sandwiches. They came with green leaf as advertised however, for us it would have been nice if some cucumber and tomato would have been included even if the sandwich cost a little more. Also, please bring back the haloumi burger as they were great and I believe are no longer on the menu. Regards, etc.

Working from Friar Gate Studios I have regular visits to the Bean. The coffee (I only drink it in its purest black form) really is exceptional quality, one of the best cups in the city. It's also a great space for meeting clients, with fast web access for free, much faster via the WiFi than I get plugged in at home. The good coffee is to hand of course which helps. It can get busy and noisy over the high lunch period though. The courtyard out back is a fantastic sun trap too and away from the road so relatively peaceful! They also have things for toddlers to be entertained with so a great spot for parents to meet and chat over brunch! Oh and excellent proper chips.

Not a lot of choice in Derby for nice places to eat, unless you like franchise fast food or chain gastro pubs, so this little independent café is a real find. Just outside of the Cathedral quarter. Worth the short walk. Food lovely. Ambience chilled.
