Really great coffee shop and eatery. The staff are amazing and the interior decor is stylish and comfortable. Prices are reasonable for the experience provided. My Friday lunch place to chill. Really worth a visit.

Lovely food. Friendly staff. Ordered a Bear Bennie and the tastes surprised me. Didn't expect to have some herbs inside the hash brown like cake which is quite nice. Free to switch milk to Oat/soya/coconut milk which is a bonus!!

Bear at the Derbion in Derby City didn’t disappoint today. I went for the “BEAR bennies” with added bacon “angry fries” & a flat white. The food was packed with plenty of flavours & cooked to a high standard.

First visit because dispite being a bit of a coffee geek I just don't go into Derby city centre. First things first, the food is excellent, I had Bears Bennies which was superb, hollandaise sauce can be overpowering and most places go a bit over the top with it; however, Bear got it spot on. My fiancée had a espresso caramel waffle, again it was superb... monumentally sweet but the espresso balanced it perfectly. Now for my primary reason for going, the V60 pour over coffee. Coffee can be big, bitter and aggressive and that's fine; however, it can also be light, acidic, fruity and delicate but requires excellent beans, a perfect grind, excellent brewing equipment, someone who knows what their doing and patience....Bear have this sorted. Brewing good coffee is more like an art that anything else, even if you think you don't like coffee try a pour over with a medium, light or washed bean that's been properly ground and brewed, it'll completely alter your view.

Pleasantly surprised by my first visit here today. Relaxed, friendly service to get us seated and served quickly. The food was really rather nice. A genuinely tasty chicken & houmous salad. Presented well, good portion. Very much recommended.

Enjoyed a lovely brunch yesterday. The staff are always so helpful and friendly. The only problem I had, was we had booked a table, and we shown to the table when we arrived. I was not a fan of the tables being so close together. We prefer a bit more space when we go out. We will definitely be back but would choose a different part of the coffee shop to sit

I’ve been coming to BEAR for coffee for years now and I will say that the coffee side has ALWAYS been fantastic. Unfortunately for me though the food always seems to let down the rest of the experience. Working in hospitality myself I understand the stresses FOH & BOH can be put under. I love a classic Eggs Benedict but for whatever reason, EVERY.SINGLE.TIME I order the eggs, they are always cooked incorrectly. I’m too nice (and a bit awkward) to ever bring it up so I just eat it but, if 50% of the dishes main contents isn’t correct then it’s a bit disappointing. This has happened to me consistently the last 4 or 5 times I’ve eaten and I order every time PRAYING that they’ll come out correctly. I’ll still continue coming to BEAR as it’s a really great place but, just some tweaking to be done. Cheers guys!

Generally a nicely-designed café, however lighting was somewhat poor. Coffee was very nice, a good depth and a wide range available. However, the Eggs Benedict I had arrived somewhat cold - the muffins were “toasted” yet they just weren’t... spinach cold and Hollandaise just... odd. A good concept, and this café would be thriving if it made small improvements in various areas to, overall, drastically improve.

Hands down this is some of the best coffee I have ever experienced. The story and the process behind the V60 coffee is just amazing. The staff have so much knowledge of the beans and the roasts that they do and how they make is so amazing I don't think I will ever get my head around. Huge thank you to Jesslee for all the knowledge and a thank you to Jack for the Fantastic service. Brilliant place with a brilliant atmosphere. Will 100% be coming back. Thank you guys.

An outstanding place for a fancy breakfast! From the minute we entered the restaurant we were seated immediately. All waiters were polite, caring and kind. A shout out to our waiter Matt who delivered an exceptional customer experience with perfect recommendations from the menu! The food was delicious and looked as pretty as a picture! Overall the whole experience is always amazing, the staff are very attentive and friendly in there approach to the service and maintaining the cleanliness of the establishment. This is a perfect place for friends and family to enjoy a good time. The menu is simple and easy to understand, the offerings are plentiful. The baked goods are always so alluring and the overall aesthetics of the place is amazing. Definitely a great addition to the Intu Derby. Will be coming back.

Visited Bear into today with the wife just for a quick coffee. On arrival we were pleasantly greeted by a charming young man "Kieran" who settled us in to a beautiful spot to sit with a stunning flowery decor. We ordered a white hot choc with a latte and within just a few mins our drink arrived. The presentation of the drinks were spot on and the latte especially was superb. Will definitely be visiting again.

It's such a she, because this has the potential to be an amazing branch of BEAR. Being a frequent visitor to the on in uttoxeter, it's clear that the standards aren't the same at the one at the Intu in Derby. The staff seem less engaged and uninterested and each time I have been to the Intu branch it's taken 15 minutes or more to serve drinks to the table. And there's never been more than 4 tables occupied. That being said, I love the whole BEAR ethos and the drinks and coffee are fab. I just think a change in the attitude of the staff would significantly improve the experience.

Bear; like the one in Iron Gate is a lovely, laid-back and enjoyable experience. Something about sitting in this spacious contemporary cafe and having their delicious hot drinks really just wants to make me relax. The staff are amazing and really try to give you a human experience, one of the main reasons why I just can't get enough of this place. The coffee is just, ohmm! It is repeatidly the best coffee I will probably ever have in a very long time. They have two brands of coffee, 'Guest' & 'House' they are both absolutely delicious! Also, if you're just looking to get something productive done then there's plenty of power sockets and charging ports by the entrance which high-top chairs and tables which I thought was a nice touch. Absolutely love this place, would be great to see them expand throughout Derby and throughout the country!

This was our first visit to the new store in the INTU and I have to admit, we were very disappointed given how highly we recommend the other site in Derby. I've never had a bad experience before today, and this is not a reflection on all the staff members because some did go above and beyond to try and rectify our experience. Our food was lovely too... However, good customer service ACROSS THE BOARD is key. Visiting with a one year old ANYWHERE can be challenging, especially when they're tired and hungry. This particular servers attitude stunk when it came to try and help make the situation a little easier... Instead of taking the time to maybe help, their approach was to point and hope I went away to bother someone else. Luckily, someone on the pass DID help me find where the water was and where the colouring pencils were for my son. Their sarcasm was noted by not only myself, but from my sister in law, when they delivered my food. Their sniggering and raised eyebrows were also noted, so thank you for making our experience miserable and making us feel an inch small because we were trying to make the experience enjoyable for a little one. Unfortunately, we won't be making a return visit and will be sticking to our usual spot. Thank you to all that did make our experience better and the lovely server who I wish nothing but the best at university: Keep smiling!
