We accidentally happened to discover this awesome cafe in derby. The plant based breakfast and chocolate brownie were divine. The owner was so friendly and genuine. The atmosphere, the visitors and ambience was so vibrant and welcoming. Being from a design background, the decor had a fusion of industrial, historical and contemporary slant which added to the vibe and our enjoyment. We will definitely be going again and exploring the changing innovative menu. I can't wait to try the pancakes next which looked so appealing.

Super tasty quality ingredients all plant based and delicious I had the burger which was so filling!! My partner non vegan had the cauliflower buffalo wings which he loved. We got a luxurious hot chocolate to go at the end of our visit and it was too good!! Staff we kind decor was cute

Really really nice food especially the cauliflower buffalo wings nice an crispy served with the nicest ranch. Drinks are equally as amazing as the food with a good selection of milk alternatives. Would definitely recommend the biscoff hot chocolate. The staff are really friendly and really make you feel welcome and relaxed. The atmosphere is really nice quite relaxed but still lively. If you’re in Derby I would definitely recommend coming whether you’re vegan or not.

I have visited Plant Cafe three times now and I love it. The food tastes amazing and the staff are lovely and welcoming. We even had exclusive taste of the new cocktail ‘Bees Knees’ and it tastes delicious. Definitely worth a visit!

Had a lovely lunch here today. We have been meaning to try it after hearing lots of good things. Loved the decor and layout. Friendly staff and good service. The daytime menu was a great size with lots of variety. I had the Yuk Sung which was super tasty. Everything was really fresh. Delicious coffee with a great selection of plant milks to choose from. I am not vegan but really enjoyed my food- didn't feel like I missed out on anything. Will definitely be trying their pizza! Would recommend!

Although it wasn't on the menu, the owner, David, very kindly asked his chef's to come up with a raw, plant-based, whole food dish for my wife, who is eating a completely raw food diet for health reasons. The chefs created a zucchini pesto dish that was delightful. I had the Spicy Jack pizza which was fantastic. Highly recommended. It's hard for someone eating a raw, plant based, whole food diet to find anywhere to eat out. Thank you David, the chefs and your kind serving team.

We loved going to Plant for amazing vegan pizza and brunch pre-pandemic, but Plant have been our SAVIOUR during lockdown with their themed takeaway events, something to look forward to and make our weekends feel special! We got the Valentine's sushi takeaway last night - honestly my favourite Plant night so far. The sushi was really flavoursome and looked so beautiful! Especially loved the temaki, super fresh and loads of ginger, super authentic. And oh my god the SEITAN KATSU - please consider making this a permanent fixture on your menu, such perfect flavour and texture. We've also had burgers and Asian takeaway recently and the standard of the food is always so high, Plant have really put Derby on the UK vegan food map. Also love that the food always comes in compostable/sustainable packaging, don't get any polystyrene-induced guilt when we order. FYI my boyfriend is a (slightly fussy) meat eater and maintains that Plant is his favourite restaurant in Derby. We love you guys, please keep doing what you're doing 🌱💚

Recently opened plant-based restaurant on Sadler Gate. The atmosphere is great with a calm and aesthetically pleasing ambience throughout the whole place. The staff greeted us on the way in and we were given menus as we sat down. The menu was great and had alot of options for different tastes. The music choices is incredible. For a side, two mains and three drinks the total of £24 is very reasonable for the food and service we got. Would recommend trying if you are exploring the vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I will be coming back. Tried the desserts too, to die for. Food both entered the clean plate club. ✌

Nice staff. Very limited evening menu (pizza or pizza), good cocktails, slightly weird service experience with it being slow (and incorrect) despite it being quiet and few opportunities for mistakes. But definitely will try again to get it up to 4* if I can as the people and idea are strong

Great cafe in derby city centre offering vegan drinks, cakes and food. I reserved a table just before Christmas with some friends and we all had the Christmas pie which was delicious! I'm looking forward to attending some of the events that are planned this year and coming in to try the breakfast menu!

If you're a meat eater like me and are sceptical about vegetarian restaurants let alone vegan ones then this is place to convert you. The food is great and seitan is a very good meat substitute. We had a pizza with seitan pepperoni and presumably cheese substitute. Both were excellent alternatives and very tasty. The garlic bread was amazing and the cocktails were very rhubarby. The atmosphere was good, we sat near the bar in the window and everything was ran in a covid secure way. Staff were friendly and the venue is tidy and stylish. Only downside is that it'd be great if they used more reusable plates rather than disposal serving trays. However, all trays are recyclable/compostable so aren't going to clutter up the world with plastic water. Great place for meat free dining in Derby.

Relativity new cafe which has recently been done up and looks amazing. There's a nice cosy atmosphere downstairs while the upstairs has a great feel and the windows light up the room. Definitely a good place to go for any non meat eaters / vegans as they have an excellent menu and vegan friendly coffees.

I visited for the first time today and certainly intend coming again. The food was lovely and the menu varied. For dessert, I tried the apple and walnut tart. I would definitely recommend this. The personal service was great. To see a cafe/bar that not only is also plant based but ethically so, is an absolute positive. I admire their ethos and know they are setting a brilliant example. Plant served really nice vegan food. We aren't vegan generally but their menu looked nice and the cafe was conveniently located so we tried them. My Spring Bowl was lovely and fresh with a good combination of texture and flavour. Husband found his thyme and mushroom soup had a rather strong thyme flavour but he ate it all. Nice place

I've been to PLANT twice now. The first time I had breakfast, packed with flavour and the sausage was so tasty. Also tried the mango and banana CBD smoothie which was also excellent. On my second visit I had the buffalo cauliflower wings that had caught my eye on my previous visit. Absolutely delicious - light, tasty batter, awesome ranch dressing. I also tried a winter power bowl which was also really tasty, the tofu particularly had a lovely flavour. The café itself is stylish, lots of exposed brick and, of course, plants everywhere - feels like it would also be a nice venue for drinks in the evening. One more point, is that they overheard it was my friend's birthday and bought her a (blooming fantastic) vegan chocolate orange cupcake out. If you have any doubts about vegan food I'd definitely recommend you try PLANT as they pack in more flavour than plates with meat on (for clarity, I eat most things but try to reduce meat, so my only agenda is to support good local business)

Friendly cafe/restaurant with an interesting and tasty vegan menu and nice atmosphere. We stopped in for a late lunch and were welcomed in. Our food was tasty and well thought out, and the CBD drinks were an interesting USP. I'd recommend the "cannabis tea" as a tasty alternative to green tea. It's very welcome to have another option for plant-based food in the city, especially one that doesn't rely on faux meat. The only negative is accessibility which is limited due to the listed status of the building. There is a low step to get in, the door is a little narrow, and there is no downstairs toilet. However, staff were quick to offer assistance. It's also worth noting they have a great selection of milk alternatives, going beyond just the usual soya, to include Oatly (I specify brand because I notice a difference in taste and consistency between brands of oat milk) and hemp milk.
