A. N.Good Coffee and snacks , warm ham & cheese croissants tasty .
R. R.The staff doesn't look too friendly but no issue there, probably because I am not too pretentious. I was after 4 pm so not too many people and the prices are not cheap is no doubt. The sandwich with roast beef wasn't bad. I do not drink coffee and I didn't tried the tea, so not too many to say about the juice with ice. The place is clean and looks cosy and the AC makes me feel comfortable.
But I will not come back if is not necessary.
L. b.Friendly and Happy Staff, mixed in with a wonderfully designed Decor to match. Perfect for a coffee and a catch up or working remotely if needed. Much needed change from Starbucks that has done nothing but improve the experience here 😊 Priced well and a lot of your typical cafe selection to choose from. It was a bit noisy at the time we went but probably timed our visit with a delivery. Will be visiting again
A. B.Nice shop, but has the feel of "Starbucks Lite" to it. Coffee was served quickly but food options left a little to be desired. As the store used to be a Starbucks, this is a little disappointing.
I ordered a chai latte, but unlike at Starbucks and Costa, there was the ability to add cinnamon or similar to it.
Nice place, will visit again, but not at the expense of its rivals.
J. K.It's just 'okay'. The refurb is tasteful since it was a Starbucks but the drinks are very expensive for what you get (Costa down the road is cheaper) and the food selection is very poor. They only seem to do a few paninis and salads, cakes and a sausage roll every now and again. The breakfast menu is limited to a cooked breakfast or sausage/bacon cob. It could be so much better. I think I preferred it when it was a Starbucks to be honest!
M. S.Expensive coffee for what it is. If you want a medium or a large, it has to be in a take away cup as they only have small cups. Chocolate Brownie cut to different sizes. Staff are pleasant enough though. Go to Greggs and get a large Latte for £2.20 which tastes a lot better. ☕
R. E.Came here on several recommendations. It did not disappoint. Came with my grandmother and young son. Wow. It's great for everyone. My young son had gleaming clean toys to play with and the food was outstanding. I simply had porridge but I can say without doubt it was the best porridge I've ever had. Will definitely go again and again x
J. M.I love coming to Pride Park and used to enjoy my time in Starbucks but since the refurb (which is 'okay') I don't see the selection of foodstuff that we used to have and what there is lacks imagination, quite bland and boring really, needs spicing up a bit .. coffee is good though!
V. T.Great coffee, reasonably priced. Much prefer this place to costa. Bacon sandwich was good too and they have a lovely selection of baked treats on offer. Nice atmosphere inside and free WiFi.
C. P.The Backyard has a very pleasant atmosphere. It is a great place to meet up with friends for coffee or a light breakfast. Used as a coffice by many who work on and around Pride Park Business Centre. The staff are outstanding!
J. W.Had a decaff coffee which tasted very good. Often hard to find a good decaf. Went with a friend and we decided to share a banoffee mufin as trying to be good after Christmas. The lovely young man serving us bought over our coffee and muffin cut in half, each half on a little wooden board. (Never had that before on a shared muffin) telling us we wouldnt argue that way laughing. Service was great and the coffee. Will deff be going back.
N. T.Not sure where "anon" bought their coffee from but there's nothing other than lux hot chocolate on the drinks menu at that price! A filter coffee actually costs £1.90
Otherwise great coffee, cheerful and helpful staff and a nice relaxed atmosphere.
