Ordered myself a rump steak sandwich with creamy mushroom sauce. Didn’t disappoint me at all. Steak cooked medium rare which gives it nice texture, fries are lovely, nice and crispy.
Located in a very nice building, high celling. Menu is very various. The staff was lovely and welcoming. Quick serving as well.

I’ve visited The Book Café with my boyfriend twice now, and both times were exceptional! The food is reasonably priced, delicious and well presented. I can highly recommend the salt and pepper chicken! ✨ The café itself is clean and quirky. I love the ability to order online and receive my food quickly. If you’re out and about in Derby and need somewhere to eat, The Book Café isn’t one to miss!

Without any doubt the best breakfast and coffee I've had in a long time. Really interesting decor, comfy and clean. Brilliant service and friendly staff. I couldn't find any thing bad to say. Awesome, thank you so much!

Loved the place usually busy, best way to order is use the app to get serve at table, outside sitting available

Surprisingly large and very popular city centre cafe. A good range of food and drink with the emphasis on quality over quantity. It is also licensed so you can have an alcoholic drink with your meal. Despite its city centre location it has a very chilled out vibe. Enjoy. M

Lovely atmosphere, staff were very friendly and helpful. They weren't doing food the day we went and their app says it's closed but it wasn't! Great interior and unique menu items- I had the Jaffa cake hot chocolate

Absolutely love it here, great atmosphere, aesthetically pleasing decor and the food is top notch! I had a full English one day and it was delicious and then went for lunch the day after as it was so good. Had a sausage sandwich and some amazing chips followed by a biscoff millionaire slice which is possibly one of the best things I’ve ever eaten (my friend had a millionaire brownie which also looked so good). Staff were very friendly and helpful, service was quick, and food very reasonably priced. Highly recommend!

The atmosphere here is so amazing. I love browsing all the old books and the staff are always helpful and happy. The food is very tasty and the service is excellent

Food was very tasty but the experience didn't match unfortunately (1) Ordering app required not only the usual email, but also phone number and postal address with no option to opt out of marketing for all three. (2) Decided to order from the till, gave waitress my phone with full order listed, but she managed to miss one of the meals off the order (not possible for me to tell this as no receipt). (3) When this was discovered (after other meals served), there was no apology or attempt to remedy the situation. I was told I could order it now but they would not be able to prioritise it, even though it was their error (which they accepted). I asked if my children could at least have a drink on the house whilst to waiting for me to get my food - she said she would ask but never came back. A simple apology and small gesture of a couple of cordials costing them pence would have had us leaving perfectly happy instead of with a bad taste in our mouths. How short-sighted.
