We got the potato leek soup which was so hearty and delicious and the bread with it was super fresh. The Oats were also delicious with some fresh fruits and the sausage roll was exactly what you want to start your day. Great service and lovely place overall.

Had breakfast here this morning was very nice, disappointed that the scrambled eggs were microwaved, but they don't have a large kitchen. They also gave me a regular milk coffee when I ordered oat milk, luckily they noticed before I had any, but that could have been a different story.

What a gem of a place this is. We called in for a late breakfast last week, and what a choice. Both our breakfasts were delicious. The staff were so friendly and attentive, nothing was too much trouble for them. So impressed we called back for cake later on in the day.

Been there for breakfast and it’s definitely worth it. Maybe the overall furniture could be more curated, considering they’re on the Royal Mile and everything. They’re kind and it’s not too expensive, for their location and portions. I’d give it a try.

On a recent trip to Edinburgh we wanted to find somewhere for breakfast and we struggled to find anything from the Google map suggestions that had a good variety to choose from. We somehow came across this gem of a place, just round the corner from our hotel (Hilton Carlton). Its a good sized place with indoor and outdoor seating. The menu had such a huge variety of options, exactly what we were after. Most places just seem to offer Full Scottish or Full English as well as poached eggs but this place had so much more to choose from as well as some healthier options. We've been here 3 mornings in a row and enjoyed the Full British as well as the American Style (scrambled eggs and bacon). The potato scones....no idea what it was but my god it was delicious! On the last day we were able to modify our breakfast with simple swaps and pay for additional items. All of the staff were extremely friendly and it was a fantastic atmosphere. There's always been a table available for us to sit at and served promptly after ordering. I highly recommend this cafe!

After first night in Edinburgh had a disappointing Travelodge breakfast. Next morning went out and found this cafe just round the corner, looks small, but a bit like the TARDIS on entering, and had a great breakfast with big choice all piping hot, great cup of tea and friendly staff. Excellent!

Not a bad stop for some lunch, even if you are hungover... We ordered full english, veggie full English and eggs royal and it did not disappoint. Loved their portions. Eggs a little overdone and could use more seasoning (a taste thing i guess) Friendly staff, fast service..Table was broken and could use fixing as it was rocking all over the place. Not a big issue tho!

After a disastrous breakfast experience at a nearby cafe we walked into Cafe Edinburgh with no booking and were incredibly pleased to find a great little cafe with delicious vegan and veggie options and hugely friendly staff. Vegan breakfast was absolutely delicious - fantastic toast and freshly made hummus! Definitely recommend this place for great food and very friendly service. Also, decor is fab - had fun trying to identify the various historic figures on the wall.

Little vegan hidden gem! We had a fantastic breakfast here with a highlight of freshly made hummus and everything being freshly made to order while also quick. Staff were lovely and very welcoming, and the building itself is great - tiny tour of Scottish history while you eat. Topped off with great coffee makes this a no brainer to recommend, we loved it!

I had a wonderful lunch in this quaint eatery while in Scotland. My wife and myself sat outdoors at this cafe in the very heart of Edinburgh and the views, the people and the food were nothing short of amazing! She had the fish and chips and I had the haggis with mashed potatoes and gravy! It was surprisingly good! The coffee was rich and stout. The staff although super busy took the time to make us feel comfortable and the service was superb! If you are visiting on Holiday then you must visit this place! As Always, Enjoy!

I honestly don't understand the other reviews, it sounds like they're talking about a different place altogether. This café was the best one I've ever visited, with amazing food at amazing prices. Food is good, but service can be slow even when it's quiet. The can of Irn Bru I ordered was filthy. Cutlery had food on it. Despite the general lack of cleanliness, I enjoyed the food and coffee enough to give three stars. Cafe Kino across the street is actually better.

Nice little cafe just slightly away from the hustle and bustle of the castle but very friendly staff. Perfect for us after our visit to the castle in the morning and then a stop for lunch after wards. The food was tasty drinks were delicious and piping hot, not much of a wait either but for the tasty food I wouldnt have minded to wait a little longer for this quality food and the price was sensible too. I would recommend for those wanting a pit stop whilst on the Royal Mile.
