Reviews of Edinburgh Press Club
Lovely open plan café with delicious sandwiches ( pesto chicken ….) and great coffee , had a real buzz to it on the Saturday morning we visited with so many nationalities enjoying their coffee.
Nice coffee house in the centre of Edinburgh
Slightly different to the norm but a little pretentious
Kind staff, excellent breakfast
The gents were quite clean. :)
Great design and wonderful atmosphere
Will definitely come back.
Great food Great service
Great coffee quality.
Wicked good flat white
Great Coffee and cakes
Warm and welcoming coffee shop. Excellent coffee to go along with great pastries.
Informal, efficient, quiet and friendly
Amazing for Breakfast!!!
Nice coffee shop
Coffee that's worth repeating.
Swanky tea emporium.
Nice
Get there early
Lovely Gallery
Modern atmospfere
Nice cafe.
Excellent size portions and a cheap price for breakfast, fairly quick service, and nice modern cafe, not far from the main centre.
Great service
Excellent..
When I go to a cafe, I tend to focus on space (spacious, not crowded, comfortable), so it was nice that the tables were spaced out and reasonably wide. Flat white is also delicious. I ate the basic scone, but I also wanted to try other bakery types and brunch types.
Very nice cafe to go alone. In the tourist epicenter, live surprisingly far from the crowds and frivolities. Delicious breakfasts with scones. Silence and views over the street.
A great place for a coffee stop
😘✌️☕🍰
Alright
We had breakfast a couple of days, the place is beautiful and has a fairly extensive menu. It's all very good. The workers are very polite and friendly.
Good breakfast and coffee offerings, large panoramic windows overlooking the street, adequate service.
I recommend this cafe, very good coffee, pastries and service. Very good WiFi too.
Lovely earl grey tea and a blueberry and lemon cake
Very nice atmosphere. Delicious sandwiches. Good beers 😋😋
I didn't have many options for breakfast or tea.
Centrally good food good coffee
This cafe is in a great spot to enjoy delicious coffee and watch the world go by. Had a full and flavoursome flat white, surrounded comfortably by paraphernalia from the newspaper industry that the building once housed.
Coffee was a bit too strong but they adjust it based on your preference! Friendly staff
Best coffee we have had in ages.
Nice Danish pastries too.
Good vibes with very friendly service, would definitely recommend. Cool looking Highland coo cupcakes!
I loved this place.
The breakfast was large and filling - great coffee as well.
They offer a 15% student discount.
There are a lot of tables and also “communal style” seating if you wanna make new friends. Bathrooms are upstairs and not disability accessible but overall really great.
Good choice of cafe food, as well as hot and cold drinks. We only stopped in for a cup of tea, but the Japanese cherry green tea was great. Was nice and quiet inside, which was a nice change compared to the usually more vibrant cafes and tea rooms around the Royal Mile.
The place is really nice. The staff and service are friendly. I had a pulled pork sandwich that came with some root vegetable chips on side and a roiboos tea that came in a teapot by default. Nice touches, neat presentation. I wish the sandwich was a bit more deluxe, as it was comparable to any old sandwich shop.
Great service and good coffee, they even gave us cutlery for our pain au chocolate. Also price wise better value than other coffee shops nearby. I also like that there is plenty of space and it’s not over crowded.
Really nice interiors, not too expensive and the portions are really big for breakfast
Loved it here. Great coffee and almond croissants
The Press club has a very cool vibe. Old typewriters, exposed brick wall, wood wall, huge windows, really cool lights. Mix and match tables. It is very cozy. They have an excellent tea selection! I personally love the vanilla tea. The croissants and scones are decent. The food is a little more hit and miss. I used to love their toasts, but they've stopped doing those. Still, definitely worth a stop.
The coffee is really good! The danish pastry was also delicious!
A lovely cafe with a decent atmosphere and very nice coffee.
The interior is amazingly beautiful. But there was no bread left for breakfast and there was still half an hour left for breakfast orders. The lady we ordered at spoke really quietly so we had a hard time understanding her. And she brought us a wrong tea at first which none of us ordered.
Nice and chilled lovley almond turnovers
Visited here today and had their lamb casserole, what a treat, the best and tastiest lamb casserole we have had anywhere. Full of vegetables perfectly cooked, lamb succulent and tender, and gravy delicious, the beautiful bread and butter finished it off. We then had two lattes one with Amaretto the other with Baileys, oh wow, just what was needed on a cold day. Definitely a must to revisit. Went yesterday just for a cup of tea which was served piping hot
This was a really nice place. From the outside looks potentially pretentious but was actually quite the opposite. Sat drinking tea (somehow managed to restrain myself from the delicious treats) for a while and my fruit tea (strawberry and kiwi I think) blew my mind! Lovely wee place, and the aesthetic with all the vintage typewriters is just lovely!
The coffee was okay. Cake selection looked a bit sad.
Stumbled upon when in need of a quick breakfast and a coffee. One of the nicest coffees I've had. Came back again later in the day
Very good breakfast for a fair price. The Cappuccino was ok.
Great spot from past experience but walked by today and it’s closed - not sure what the story is.
Nice environment! Friendly staff- Aimee and Emma were really friendly. Great coffee, many different options to try and also nice for those who want to study. Student's discount also included!
Great coffee and a cool interior and atmosphere.
Nice and comfortable café in which you can escape the surrounding city for a break. They serve excellent sweets and soups along with local drinks. If you need to have a break for a couple of minutes, stay here
Soup good. Rolls are pre-made but tasty and served with a side salad. But they don't have any sauces or dressings for the salad. When asking the staff about this, they seemed not to care much. One of the staff just sat on the counter by the till when answering questions. Not a good impression.
Pretty nice n chill place, spacious and cosy. However I told the waitress there was no toilet paper left n she wasn’t very helpful. I asked if there might be some in the men’s and she said she didnt know and to check the men’s toilet ‘at my own risk’ ... LOL?! There were other male staff working there too
On a very busy day we were in need of a seat and got lucky. Warm welcome from the staff who were under some pressure to cope with demand. Soup was a little cool but this was dealt with with all good grace.
Met with a colleague here. We had a great meeting.. Tarnished only by less than great tea and coffee. Tea was really weak..despite being allowed many minutes to infuse... And coffee was poor
Nice enough cafe but staff are too busy chatting and you don't get table service. Clean and coffee is ok. Seem ok letting people work out of it though.
We walked through the city first place we found open staff was extremely nice and we waited a few extra minutes and they dropped off a small cookie covered with caramel and chocolate. Nice relaxing way for are first breakfast.
Nice, bright place with a few vegan options. Service needs a bit of improvement, though. They are a little slow and could be a bit friendlier. Plus point: student discount.
I had really tasty gluten free millionaire's shortbread in here. It had lots of caramel and was definitely the best I've had since going on a gluten free diet 😊
Nice coffee and some vegan cakes options
Cozy little place, great coffee and service.
Good coffee, good cake, unfortunately my daughter needed changed and after going hunting for baby changing my wife couldn't find anything suitable so we had to move on.
I visited just for breakfast.
Cute place, wide variety in the menu.
Nice but really slow staff.
Cozy but pricey place.
Friendly, convenient cafe. Nice simple food, contemporary deco situated in central location.
Oh my god the cupcakes! They are to die for. Vegan cupcakes also available. Large seating area but be prepared for it to be busy.
Nice little cafe. Friendly staff and a good range of drinks and food. Very nice cakes!
Nice place for a good cup of coffee. I love this street, and close to just about everything.
Stumbled upon this little cafe today on our way around the city. Very centrally located to the Royal Mile and has absolutely wonderful confectionery goods to offer! Fantastic service at the counter and wonderful hospitality given by the staff. We just got dessert, but the drinks and other food looked wonderful when it was brought to other tables. Warm and inviting atmosphere, and we really loved the retro vibe. Definitely a must stop when in Edinburgh. And if you’re lucky enough to swing by near closing time, you might even be able to score some free cupcakes to take on your way out!
Great breakfast, excellent orange juice, and found a picture of my great uncle on the wall - amazing!
Best place I've found in Edinburgh to relax with a coffee, a cake and a crossword. Nice sandwiches too.
Great latte & sumptuous brownie filled with caramel. It's located if the tourist track so you can escape that madness.
The best Mocha Coffe with coconut milk i ever tried!! The best its very close to the Edinburgh Castle and is close to the park aswell!!
One of the greatest places to have a coffee in the center of Edinburgh. Quality barista coffee, great sweets and even greater staff!
Great coffee for the coffee critics, and the crispy fresh croissant was delicious. Modern cool vibe too.
Not a great cappuccino (no chocolate on top) but points for having oat milk, free wifi and plenty of space
Nice and quiet place to take a coffee or tea in the city centre. Several sockets to plug laptops and free internet. Friendly staff
Just had a pot of the Famous Edinburgh tea, but it was lovely and the cafe has a nice cozy atmosphere.
Lovely café, great choice
Great vibe and tasty food with vegetarian options. Full Scottish was £10 and not a huge portion but tasty nonetheless! Right off the royal mile and lovely people!
Great atmosphere and very friendly staffs. One of Edinburgh great places to Sit and enjoy your coffee.
Lovely relaxing place. Delicious homemade food. And delightful liquor coffees
Lovely little Cafe off the Royal Mile. I recommend the Montrose Review. A vegetarian sandwich with Humous
We had a great coffee and cake stop here, good addition to Cockburn street since i've last been down
Excellent tea and the service is correct. The room is well decorated and very luminous.
Nice atmosphere, and lovely staff, but not the cheapest for a quick coffee
Great atmosphere and even better coffee. Highly recommended
Very Nice place to sit down and have a Nice and relaxed cup of coffee.
Beautiful café. Lovely scone & coffee. Friendly staff! 😁
Friendly staff in a calm atmosphere with great coffee and amazing cakes
Food was absolutely incredible, and I don't think I've ever had such fast service. Within 2 minutes of ordering we had our food and our drinks. Portions were generous, and the coffee was delicious. Honestly I cannot recommend highly enough.
Good stop off point if you are in the old town. Nice coffee and friendly staff
Really good strong coffee, lovely tea and good cakes. I'll be going back!
Great place with the most amazing granola breakfast and he perfect latte
Great coffee, snacks and service. Would recommend
Really good. Enjoyed lunch here a nice sandwich and lovely soup.
Good atmosphere, chill staff, good food and affordable price!
Lovely coffee and food in a great location.
Fascinated by the decorations and architectural aspects of the building design. Makes an excellent combination.
Nice surroundings nice coffee cakes reasonable prices.
Quiet little gem with tasty food and selection of drinks.
Charming cafe on Cockburn street!
Good value for money, great selection of hot drinks and food. The pastries on display look really tasty, the chocolate twist in particular was great.
The atmosphere is very chilled and relaxing, great place to study or read a book.
Nice enough but bit pricey and limited choice. OK coffee
Great coffee and hot chocolate. Interesting space with details from the press days
Nice coffee cake and good views of the street.
Lovely coffee, great for meetings, good WiFi.
Smashing brunch in a lovely building
Liked this place, not far from station and good food and drink
Great coffee, tasty sandwich and granola. Huge portions :)
Had coffee. Nice atmosphere. Go try.
Nice coffee. The place was a bit dirty
Friendly staff fair choice of food.
As you can see there are a lot of steps, luckily we walked down not up. I have a bad back and couldn't manage it. There are shops all around plenty to see and the views are fabulous.
Nice atmosphere great coffee in Central Edinburgh
Really nice venue, coffee ok.
One of the best coffee shops in the city
Lovely atmosphere and great coffee
Free Wifi, cosy atmosphere
Amazing coffee amazing menus
Nice place, cakes too sweet
Popped in for a couple of coffees. Small Latte and large Latte and couple of cakes. Was served the cakes and informed coffees would be brought to table. Coffee and walnut cake was rather dry to consume. Coffees eventually arrived, I commented on the small Latte and was informed it was a flat white as they didn't do small Latte. Guess they should have said when I was ordering. Won't frequent again sorry.
Nice and cozy
Nice place for a snack, tea or coffee.
Nice atmosphere unfortunately the service compared to our last visit as we weren't greeted and were told only "take a seat, order at bar". The muffin was fantastic but unfortunately my sandwich came with some wilted and dead lettuce in my "daily salad", The vegetable crisps were also somewhat stale, The sandwich however was ok but appeared to be bought in. This was disappointing as previously i got the casserole which was great but I was told that they no longer do it after having to ask why the menu had pen drawn on it.
Would come again if I was in a hurry, but would more likely pick an alternative. Would like to see the casserole brought back.
