The staff has been rude when we visit the shop lately. It was my friends’ last day in Edinburgh and the whole thing just cast a shadow over our morning. But would still give it a three-star review since I’ve been going to Elliott’s for years and always enjoy their coffee, food and other products (tho slightly overpriced imp) Although if I may offer a piece of advice, maybe it’s time to consider hiring more staff who’re from different racial or cultural backgrounds so during the festival season international customers would feel more welcomed rather than being treated differently :)

My friend and i were here for their super nice lunch. Absolute loved both dishes (pumpkin and leeks).
Alsoooo, i later ordered this amazing cake.
THE FLUFFIEST CARROT CAKE EVER, Such a lovely cake, so so light (kinda wanted to have a second but needed to stop myself)
Very nice atmosphere, not too busy and also lovely staffs!

I come here every week and it’s such a hidden gem in the neighbourhood! Top notch brunch: I tried the harissa egg on sourdough and it was super Instagram-able on the presentation (my way of saying the food looks good) and even more beautiful in the mouth... generous portion. I always go for the flat white and never disappoint. Very friendly, helpful staff and great music, just the vibe you’d like to have when you’re going to have a brunch catch up.

Amazing small cafe in the heart of Sciennes. Excellent food and great chat as always. Monmouth Coffee is a welcome addition to the lineup.

Great food! Such a lovely place.
Had A great dinner with natural wine and the breakfast is great too.

Beautifully cooked eggs with crispy sage and lemony greens (something different, totally delicious - maybe a little on salty side). Minimal choice, high quality food on offer. They take their time so don’t go if rushed - but perfect for a lazy Sunday morning. Coffee is divine, served in beautiful pottery. Staff super friendly. Don’t listen to Sam’s review (the 3 star guy). He has issues with scrambled eggs not being scrambled enough. I tried them, they were delicious. Love independent businesses doing their thing.

Soup in particular I'd usually amazing! And they do a great oatmeal raisin cookie

Now offering a pop up restaurant on a Friday and Saturday evening. The food was fantastic modern Italian cooked with lots of love and served by the good folk that help create it. You can bring your own wine and the prices are such good value. What can I say ciao Elliott!

The menu is consistenly creative and delicious. From the galettes to the crumbles, everything is balanced and flavorful. The space itself is absolutely charming. It is a joy to walk into Elliot's to grab some brunch. The staff, moreover, is always friendly and helpful.

If you want to back 35 years back, here you go. Place lovely old style. Unfortunately no sit in. Only take away. I pleased to seat there.

Lovely place with a small seasonal menu that changes on the regular. I had the red wine beans which they easily accommodated to my vegan request. Lovely atmosphere to sit down and have a quiet, lazy meal

Coffee and cake both of which were delicious. Pleasant staff and lovely setting. Decor easy on the eye. Big windows so plenty of light. Will definitely be back. Nice easy atmosphere.

Nice little cafe with good food for lunch or for cake. Table sharing spirit so there is always a corner of table free to get your coffee. Warm atmosphere.

Delightful café, great food from the inspired Jess who owns and runs the kitchen. FRESH, creative and super tasty! Jess is very flexible too if you have dietary needs. A fantastic newcomer to the area and well worth seeking out. You will not be disappointed!!

First time but definitely not the last. Great food and good value

Just the best brunch place in Edinburgh. The sage fried egg is the stuff of legends. Coffee is great too. Dinner is also brilliant.

+ Good vibe
+ Well cooked fresh pasta
+ BYOB, made it feel more reasonably priced
+ Nice staff
+ Excellent tiramisu!
- A bit cramped, shared tables, but fine for a pop-up
- Small portions! Left a bit hungry
- Quite expensive for what you get. If it weren't BYOB it would have been too much
- Starters a little uninspired

Really lovely atmosphere, staff and the coffee was excellent.
A three star review is probably harsh... I ordered scrambled eggs as I don’t particularly like fried but the scrambled was basically just chopped up fried egg. Yes, I’m precious! It also took 20 minutes to arrive, but probably because the place was so busy and people seem to love it so much.
My girlfriend has now fallen out with me because apparently this is totally out of order and the food was 5 star delicious. It actually was, I just don’t like fried egg, OK ANNA?!

Tiny place with limited artisan items like sourdough bread, variety jams, interesting icecream and organic wines. When open, also stocks the Noble Rot magazine and delicious coffee.

27 Elliott's is just beautiful. A deli / interiors hybrid with loads of store cupboard staples as well as quirky foodie things you didn't know you needed until you spot them on the shelf, the most amazing bread and a great selection of wines. Cheese coming soon! Also gorgeous candles, wee pots, paring knives, soaps and linens. Go!
