Reviews of OQO - Your Coffee Nook
K. M.
Nice interior decor. Good coffee. Stylish turmeric latte. Lovely pastries, but my favourites were the Turkish eggs with yogurt and pomegranates.
J.
Amazing little spot for coffee and a bite to eat. The quality of service and food far exceeds the menu prices. Would absolutely recommend this place whether you're a local or a tourist.
S. C.
Great spot for a coffee and something to eat. Excellent range of hot drinks. We had an iced cappuccino, two decafe cappuccinos and an oat milk chai latte. Delicious. Plus the little alcove at the back where we drank it was so characterful!
A. S.
Extremely pretty and cozy place. Went in for an early breakfast and the team were very warm and welcoming. Clean and beautifully decorated. Loved the food and drinks. Close the the Edinburgh Central Youth Hostel. If you want to escape from the hostel dining, this is the place to go.Also follows all COVID-19 protocols✌🏼🙌🏼
R. A.
Beautiful place, good coffee. I recommend toast with scrambled eggs, they are really fantastic !!
I’ll definitely come back for that, I loved it.
C. C.
A stylish little coffee nook with seats indoors and out, we enjoyed everything we ordered (carrot cake, matcha latte with coconut milk, mocha with oat milk). The staff were friendly and helped to wipe the outdoor tables after they were wet from the rain. We'd love to come here again!
B. S.
Delightful wee coffee shop. My first coffee was a little cool for my liking so asked for the 2nd one to be hot which it was. Food was very good and plentiful. We had an excellent family breakfast/brunch here with 4yo and 1yo.
S. D.
So cute. Friendly staff. Yummy baked goods (and one gluten free!). Delicious coffees and cocoas. Looking forward to eating there soon.
M. L.
Bijou little cafe with nice cakes and pretty good coffee. Helpful staff and pretty decor. Nice pleasant seating outside which gets the morning sun.
F.
Came here to do some work and it was a very pleasant experience. There are plenty of large and small spaces to work with plugs. A nicely lit and well styled interior as well.
Staff was very attentive and the food and drinks were great.

The atmosphere in this place couldn't get any better. It's just the perfect place to study or catch-up with friends, I have yet to see anyone with a long face in there! The highlight is probably the staff, which is incredibly friendly and helpful. They really do seem to care about their customers AND they have wonderful gluten-free cakes from time to time. Also, the tea is amazing... What else is there to ask?
c.
Very nice environment, relaxed and cosy. I would call decoration imaginative as it has many nice elements and plays between black and white. I bought a coffee and a carrot cake. Coffee was good, the usual coffee you drink everywhere. Carrot cake however was average, actually it has no carrot flavour. I have eaten much better elsewhere. Service was also very good and swift. Overall it is a nice place to spend your time.

Lovely little oasis on Leith Walk (Haddington Place). The decor is lovely and the cafe has a cosy feel to it. It's a great place to relax with a cup of coffee or have some lunch. It's also great if you're looking for a quiet place to get some work done (there are tables with sockets in the back).
S. W.
Really bright and cosy cafe. The coffee here is excellent. The cakes are made in the back and are really good too. An extra bonus is the outside seating area which gets loads of sun when it's available.
N. S.
Really good coffee and good decor. The Jan and cheese toastie was surprisingly good!
Т. М.
A wonderful place with a stunning design and incredibly delicious and beautiful dishes. Like it!
J. H.
Beautiful art deco style small coffee shop, limited range of lunch options but some lovely pastrys on offer. We had a coffee and a cake. The atmosphere was very chilled and quiet - great to come and read a book or to work.
R. M.
Perfect, outstanding Coffee, eggs avocado on toast was brilliant & cooked to perfection. Very quick service too. Would definitely recommend. As the big man once said...... I'll be back ;-)
B. M.
Best coffee we had in Edinburgh and found this place by accident. Far exceeded those recommended places ! Great food too 👍👌
G. D.
Friendly staff, the cakes were great and the macha latte was the best we've had anywhere.
A. I.
Nice guys, friendly service, good cakes and coffee, but terrible avocado and salmon toasts (95% of bread)
G. T. J.
Great coffee and the owners are lovely :) always a great time
S. C.
My favourite coffee shop in Edinburgh. Feels like you’re at home, in your own living room. Beautifully decorated with a real love for coffee. A little bubble of good vibes. Come here to do your work and block the world out - Gary will take good care of you.
D. B.
Nice strong flavoursome coffee, food excellent and a good atmosphere to boot, will definitely be back.
M. M.
Best coffee we had in Edinburgh. Great croissants too. Young guy working there was super friendly and welcoming. It's a sweet wee place and I would deffo go back.
R. D.
Smooth dark coffees, blended teas and home made pastries. The sweet, silky shortbread was worryingly moreish.
J. S.
A really nice cafe. The coffee and hot chocolate are excellent, the service is friendly and the prices are reasonable. The decor is really nice and you can comfortably sit for a while and relax.
L.
Pretty and cozy place. Really nice coffee :)
C. K.
What a lovely cafe! Homemade cake and lovely teas!! Also great decor and good taste of music!! Definitely coming back to taste the rest of the cakes!
G.
Good coffee and tea! I have a really pleasant time there.
K. C.
One of the very best coffee shops in Edinburgh! Would highly recommend their coffee, poppy seed lemon cake and carrot cake. I am impressed by how they constantly improve and update their recipies, so customers would never get bored. Will definitely visit once lockdown's over!
S. K.
Great coffee and nice cake selection, had oat milk flat white and brownie and it was great! Really nice staff and service - thanks!
S. B.
The staff was super friendly and passionate about the drinks they were making. Keen to chat too which is nice. I had a coconut hot chocolate and a caramel brownie, both were very tasty. The decor is a good mix of cozy and trendy. Definitely recommend!

I have been going to OQO Cafe since it opened i.e. Gary took over.
It's a great cafe with both Gary and his other half investing alot of time and effort into the look.
The staff are friendly and there is a real community feel to the cafe.
The breakfasts; scrambles eggs alone or with avocado / salmon are fab.
The food is lovely, I have frequented cafes around the world and OQO is great.
D. J.
Great coffee and toasted sandwiches, and lovely staff.
D. R.
Great place to work and study. Sockets avaialble. Music was not too loud and the coffee is pretty good. They even have a small library there with books you can read whilst enjoying your coffee.
P. F.
Fantastic place, cosy, great coffee, cake is a dream and the style is well thought out. Spent at least 4 hours working there as did many others. Lovely place to hang out and work. Staff are very friendly.Highly recommended for coffee and cake lovers. Small bites also available which I will try next time.
A. N.
They have the best latte and mocha!!! There s also some amazing Greek pastries that s exclusice and really one of its kind😍😍😍
C. A.
The espresso is lovely, not overextracted like in so many other cafes. Their halloumi salad with pear, walnut, and pomegranate was exceptional - everything just seemed fresher than expected, with a perfect pear, walnuts that were actually delicious, and perfectly cooked halloumi. The staff are friendly, and I had a nice chat with the owner. I try to visit new cafes when traveling instead of going to the same one too many times, but this is a worthy exception.
L. S.
Rely nice place, hidden gem inside. Cosy atmosphere and nice modern decor. Good selection of hot and cold drinks, they even do a tumeric latte. Delicious scrambled egg on toast and some good books to read. Great place to work from on your laptop, accommodates with many plug sockets, good for meetings and catching up with friends or simply sitting alone and being quiet. Friendly helpful staff. Music at a good level and nice tracks being played. Good selection of food for snacks or a light breakfast or lunch. Highly recommended
R. P.
Really yummy food at a very good price. Staff really friendly. Excellent cheese toasties and cake.
M. K.
Lovely friendly staff, wonderful latte, vegan options available, thank you :)
J. F.
I was a bit sad to see Nordic Affair go, as it was full of character and had a lovely owner.
However, I was very impressed with the new café - OQO, it's a completely different kettle of fish, with beautiful modern decoration. The coffee is great, and so is the food. Lovely staff too, I'm sure it'll just get busier as the weeks go by.
F. W.
Very enjoyable place. Very pleasant staff. Very curteous. Very helpfull. Very nice to speak to. Had a very nice pleasant conversation with one of the staff, who was leaving at end of shift but still stopped to talk to me. I can't recommend the place enough. The food and service were excellent.
G. C.
A nice comfy coffee stop on Leith Walk with lovely staff and a tasty cup of the good ground bean. It's a regular haunt of mine and I always enjoy dropping in there when I'm passing by.
I. N.
Really cute, glam decor. Very nice vibe to sit in. Free wifi, great place to do some work. Had a delicious hot chocolate and toastie. Will definitely visit again.
T. Y.
Lovely cafe with charming staff!
Got a nice cappuccino and brilliant carrot cake back home. It’s an unforgettable experience to step inside this cafe. Beautiful accident! Would luv to come back again!
L. M.
Nice clean cafe
Strong coffee
Good prices
S.
Very kind people en lovely service. They know how to foam the milk and make a good cappuchino without any bubbles in it. The only thing that I didn't like was that my coffee was way too hot!
J. B.
Great coffee, pain aux raisan, scone stale
M. K.
This is a warm and cosy cafe that has a good selection of specialty food and coffee. It has a team of friendly, welcoming and open-minded staff. OQO has a feeling of being a real community.
M. M.
Only been open for 3 months, but this little bijou cafe is gaining a great reputation and a loyal followung. Don't be put off by the flat capped hipster owner. He is really very approachable and works his socks off. Clearly loves what he does.
T. B.
Fantastic Coffee, Cake and Staff. Dog friendly and an upmarket decor, who knew that would work so well?
Highly recommended by me.
A.
These guys know what they are doing. Beautifully run by the host, Quin, who always has something ‘out the back’ that surprises and inspires.
The best cheese and ham sandwich in Edinburgh with English mustard rather than French - chunky crusty bread, lashings of butter etc.....toasted or just ‘doorstop’ thick.
Delightful, soft, elegant interior nodding to a glamour where all that is missing is a bow tie, a mink stole and coupe of champagne. The opposite of Craft and Rustic.
Also - Quin has a massive stylish table in the anti room ‘salon’ for Lap Tops to spread out, that leaves the intimacy of the four Brief Encounter spaces for dates, quiet and elegant reflection and some internal drifting.
I suggest the window seat, where everything is seen yet no one is looking.
It is a coffee shop. The Coffee Shop. The Nook. My Coffee Nook.
S. P.
Nice coffee but nowhere to hang your coat. I placed it on the chair next to me when staff asked me to move it as they wanted to seat more guests. Which totally makes sense but there was nowhere to put my big winter jacket. Just drill some hangers on the wall please:)
정.
Lovely cafe! Nice coffee and the food was amazing
K. M.
Really good coffee and relaxed fun vibe
T. B.
Great cafe for a cup of coffee and chat. Really friendly and chatty owner and great ambiance. Wouldn't really recommend it for serious/studying as it can be a bit loud and table space can be at a bit of a premium.
D. B.
Nice coffee, interesting soups, scrambled eggs were lovely. Staff very attentive and friendly. Nice outside seating for sunny days.
K. L.
Really attentive staff, lovely seating and a great location for a spot of tea. I just ordered some delicious apple and cinnamon tea but I will definitely be back to sample some of the lattes.
B. T.
Lovely small shop with delicious coffee and cakes. Tables outside on Sunday.

The coffee is rather good. Nice place to sit, good vibe, friendly staff. The soup varies in quality. The toast/bread also needs an upgrade.
S. M.
