Reviews of The Blue Bear Cafe
M. M.
Visited for a week day brunch, quiet and easy to get a table. Attentive staff and welcoming to our two dog. Food was tasty and gluten free was accommodated. The French toast was very good but a big portion! A gender neutral toilet was nice to see.
Overall a nice place and I liked the wall art but aspects of the decor felt a little tired.
E.
Had a really good breakfast. All food was freshly prepared and was delicious. Also the staff was very friendly. We just had to wait about 15 minutes to get our food. Really great place!
A. T.
Service from the staff was impecable! Food quality has room for improvement.
They made a mistake with an order for a breakfast roll and as it was late in the day there were no more rolls so we had to order something more expensive (French toast). They charged us half the price of it which was so great from their part! This is excellent service.
I ordered a bagel which was good overall but the bagel not very fresh.
J. L.
Friendly, relaxed and great food! We were lucky to find this in passing. They do a good egg or two!
N.
Service was excellent, polite, attentive and friendly. Bagel is nor made of real bagel dough, it just white bread shaped like a bagel. There is different price on the boars and the printed menu, which I find weird.
Z. M.
Very kind and helpful staff, the French toasts were tasty and freshly made and the haggis looked delicious (trying it next time!)
Prices feel ok for Stockbridge, you do get a fair amount for your money. Freshly pressed cloudy apple juice brought it to the top!
C. F.
Lovely cosy local spot for a fantastically tasty brunch. Tops for a quick drop in for a chat and a coffee and cake catch up too. First place I think of on a Saturday morning to get the weekend started.
C. M.
Bright brunch location with a simple but tasty menu filled with favourites.
The cafe is quite long on the inside, bright white walls with blue art and bench seating. The staff were friendly and welcoming. The menu consist of a build your own option around 2 eggs but also has the standard hollandaise etc. options as well great eggy bread dishes.
The service was fast and the food was with us in minutes. Portions were of a good size and nicely presented. Price is in the £6-£8 region meaning it’s not a budget option but the quality of the food more than makes up for it.
All in all it gives the air of a pretty standard brunch cafe that has upped its game by actually caring about quality and presentation.
Would recommend!

Such a lovely place with very good breakfast options! It is pet friendly and people working there are the nicest! What surprised me was that you are more likely to get a seat if you make a booking, that had never happened to me in a breakfast place :)
K. B.
This is a very cozy cafe with delicious food and extremely kind and friendly owners. This is one of our regular spots. I adore their waffles with bacon (seriously, some of the best waffles I have ever had), while my partner prefers their eggs Benedict. The coffee is also perfect.

Had a great Sunday Brunch at 12.15pm. Very busy inside so we sat outside with our spaniel. Very friendly and helpful staff and like dogs! I love the way that you can still get breakfast or brunch after 11.30 when most places stop serving breakfast! They are open until 2.30pm! We will definitely be going back in the future!
B. W.
Comfy. Cozy. Perfect for family (with teens). Perfect cafe breakfast - both sweet and savory- with a wide selection of coffee drinks. Accepts Visa and MasterCard.
H. W.
A fab little cafe that's always busy! You have to book to guarantee a table but it's so worth it. A great selection of food and beverages to suit all tastes and dietary requirements. Will absolutely be back! The indulgent french toast (banana and nutella and topped with walnuts) is definitely enough to tide you over until dinner time!

The breakfast was that incredible I didn't manage to get a picture before scoffing it!!!! I got far too excited!!! Highly recommended! The staff are lovely and friendly and also dogs are welcome! If you in Edinburgh this gem is worth a visit!!!!!

This has cemented itself as my favourite brunch spot in Edinburgh. The service is brlinat and the staff are so friendly.
The setting is cosy and really bright and friendly. This is good enough for most places but, then there's the food. Wow. An incredible menu thay left us wanting two meals each (ok maybe 3). The variety is brilliant and it caters for every type of customer (vegetarian, vegan etc).
The food itself was nothing short of delicious, the chef even let us know some of the spice combinations from one dish that was incredible. The coffee was delicious and I can't wait to go back! What a pleasure!
P. S.
Totally recommended place for a coffee, as a stopby during sightseeing. The place is small and cosy, but it makes it even nicer. Staff is friendly and nice.
Bear it mind that you can only pay in cash.
K. E.
Calm and relaxed morning atmosphere with great French toast, good coffee and wonderful service. I started my morning here before walking around for the day and could not help but grab a brownie on my way out, which was equally delicious and the perfect stamp to end breakfast.
A. H.
Got the waffles and they were delicious and so tasty! Staff are friendly, attentive and helpful.
M. F.
Food was delicious and lovely atmosphere, and the staff deserve more than 5 stars for being so helpful with allergy information/provisions!! Plus there are board games :)
A. G.
We came here craving for waffles for breakfast. We did manage to find them but they weren't as good as we expected. With a 4.4 review score and with the good looks of the cafe, we thought we would find freshly made waffles with freshly made smoothie. However, the "inocent smoothie" was literally inocent (the brand); and the waffles were freshly made, we could tell. My review is based on this specific experience, obviously. Nevertheless, the menu does offer different options that sound really tasty though not sure if they are or not.
W. M.
Good food, regular prices, nice staff and board games for the win! And little things, like chalula hot sauce... However just remembered the pancake syrup was a bit basic. Small thing but definitely noticeable if you're used to the ole maple juice...
H. K.
Nice ambience, friendly servers. Their breakfast menu is delicious as well!
G. R.
Really nice cafe, great breakfast and brunch menu # advisory book ahead to secure table
E. S.
Food was good and waiting staff were lovely. The manager/owner who greeted us was rude and stand offish. I had called ahead to ask if we could come in earlier and was told that would be fine but when we arrived she was abrupt and unwelcoming about our being early which continued throughout and when we checked out.
D. R.
Fast service, friendly staff and the food was delicious. Couldn't resist grabbing a piece of cake on the way out!
D. M. C.
Honestly this is one of the best brunches in Edinburgh. We've eaten here many times and it's always a pleasure. Great vegetarian options too.
D. T.
Fast service from a very nice lady. Bit pricey for what you get but food was excellent.
S. P.
Lovely people working there, very friendly and tasty breakfasts!
C. D.
Found this cafe by accident but was impressed! Very tasty food served by very friendly staff. Cute little cafe with a nice atmosphere. Enjoyed it so much I came again the next day.
V. F.
A place worth visiting twice. (Actually we did go twice for breakfast during the 2-day short trip in Edinburgh.)
G. S.
Friendly and quick service. Great atmosphere and background music. Quality of food and coffee was brilliant. Only critique is table surface was in need of a more thorough wipe down.
A. N.
A wonderful little spot, kid friendly space with gracious staff wgo made us feel extremely welcome. The food is excellent as well. Fresh and delicious.
C. G.
Lovely wee place for brunch. A reasonable walk from Princes St, but excellent eggs benny & French toast
J. W.
Amazing atmosphere and friendly staff. The menu was varied and the food beautifully presented.
K. D.
Delicious breakfast. Gluten free bread made on site. Chef is gluten free so everything is safe.
F. C.
We sat outside and enjoyed our meal and kept the dogs and baby under control
J. W.
The coffee is delicious. Comes in a nice big mug to wrap your hands around on a cold morning. Now tucking into the Eggs Benny.
S. D.
Best haggis I have ever had! Granted it was my 1st time trying haggis but I can still say it was the best! Highly suggest the haggis Benedict. It's mind blowing!
R. S.
The best breakfast I've had .
Excellent service, great atmosphere with tasty coffee.
5 stars
Massive thanks to the entire staff
W. R.
Such a nice little place. Plenty of seating so had mo issues finding a place to relax while eating. The food was delicious and very well priced. The staff were particularly friendly and attentive. This could be my new favourite breakfast location.
Z. B.
Great breakfast. Very accommodating staff even though the place was mad busy!
T. M.
Really great place for a Sunday brunch! We took a walk down there along with our wee dog, and were able to get seated relatively quickly. It is an extremely busy little place. We had waffles, French toast and a crossiant and all 3 were brilliant. I would say if your dog is bigger, or excitable, it's probably not the best place to take them as there isn't a lot of room between tables.
T. S.
the atmosphere was great and service good. tea is wonderful, filter coffee standard. the eggs Benedict was so so, just OK. the omelette was loaded with bit too much feta and slightly over cooked. nice atmosphere but not sure if I would go again.
D. G.
The food was great. I had the french toast with bacon and maple syrup which came in a good sized portion. It was pretty packed at noon on a Saturday which is understandable because of how balanced the menu, how comfortable the atmosphere is and how cute the dogs were.
R. D.
Nice and cozy with good selection of lunch like food. Enjoyed my burrito and coming back for more next time in Edinburgh
K. D.
Great service great food
K. G.
Best affordable brunch ever. Best tattie scone I've ever tried. Amazing vegan haggis, better than the real stuff! And the decaf flat white made me feel I was drinking the caffinated stuff. Flexible menu and nice atmosphere. Wish I could go every weekend!
A. G.
Excellent breakfast. Picking your own meats and side means you get exactly what you want. Best hashbrowns I've tasted this side of the pond (formed into a triangle and deep fried but not your usual out of the bag job) with very good quality sausage and tasty, spicy haggis. If you went all out you'd be paying a small fortune, but I was encouraged to be more discerning in my fry up choices and was rewarded.
L. R.
Just had a delicious brunch at the Blue Bear. Dog friendly, excellent choices on the menu and prompt service. I would definitely return.
R. B.
Lovely place, great menu. The breakfast was lovely but the coffee not fantastic. The staff were very accommodating and friendly so would definitely go back
E. M.
I simply loved it here. A fantastic brunch although the menu is limited, dependent on the day of your visit. The staff were very accommodating, even when we hadn't booked. They also made us added extras that were not included in what we ordered - so that is above and beyond. Great coffees, cakes and boardgames. Fantastic to see an establishment who is accepting of our four-legged companions also. I will definitely be back.
A. D.
The waitress was so bubbly and friendly. Food was very tasty and some different things on the menu. Lovely brunch
S. M.
Decent coffee and lovely brunch! Can get quite busy on the weekends.
E. K.
Amazing food with quick and attentive staff. We were able to get a reservation in day of with no issues, and even gave us an extra table to help fit our larger group. Everything was cooked to perfection. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking for a great brunch away from the city center but make reservations to be on the safe side.
M. N.
The food was delicious and the cafe has a positive morning vibe. The price was a little higher than I expected but not exorbitant. I would definitely eat here again to try the other things on the menu! The menu is very flexible as it's set up so that you can build your own breakfast. Would highly recommend to travellers who want a nice "local" spot as it seems to less frequented by tourists.
S. D.
What a lovely place for brunch. Very welcoming, food was excellent would very much recommend a visit.
W. M.
Can't be sure if this is the best cooked breakfast place in Edinburgh, but it's certainly high up in the top ten. Just walking through the door makes you happy. Food choices, quality, service - all at the top of the game. Staff couldn't be nicer. Can't believe it's taken me this long to go here. Will definitely be back soon.
G. L.
Great breakfast: 8 people, 8 different selections, all served together. Lovely efficient service too
P. R.
Went for a simple breakfast before a day of exploring the city. Very friendly staff, and delicious food. My wife had the apple french toast and she described it as an apple pie on good toast, and I had a breakfast sandwich. Would definitely go back.
C. E.
Cute little restaurant with friendly staff and menu options. Food was excellent, definitely recommend.
L. H.
Perfect breakfast spot. Cute vibe, friendly staff, and delicious food. The breakfast burrito and salmon eggs Benedict were both amazing. And the avocado toast looked so good that we’re going back tomorrow!
A. G.
One of the best place to have brunch here in Edinburgh, i live here, i know it:).
Very much enjoyed my experience there today with my family visiting from France. Our waiter was very friendly and patient. She was also very helpful. The food was very tasty and well presented. Thanks again guys!
D. M.
Absolutely love this cafe. Fantastic place for breakfast or lunch. Prices are very affordable and service is excellent.
The food is all very tasty, freshly prepared and there is plenty to choose from. The cafe is always busy so must be a very popular place. One of the best wee places for breakfast in Edinburgh.
E. L.
Wonderfully nice staff and really good, priceworthy food. Can testify that their bagels are well-filled, soups are flavoursome and hearty, and their chai lattes are comforting.
N. P.
We stayed nearby and this was a great find when looking for somewhere to have breakfast. Very busy cafe, but managed to grab a table. Super friendly staff, amazing food including a great choice for veggie and vegan. Highly recommended!
A. C.
Great service. Quickly served with water when seated. Our food arrived in what seemed like no time whilst we played connect 4. I ordered the eggs florentine with salmon as an extra and my husband ordered the Rebecca. The food was delicious and just the right portion. I'm now a convert to black pudding after sampling some from my husband's plate. Would recommend to those looking for a lovely homely place to have brunch.
T. L.
The Blue Bear is one of my favourite breakfast and brunch place in Edinburgh. There is stiff competition out there, but coming to the Blue Bear is an all-around fantastic experience.
Let's start with the food. I love breakfast and, particularly, waffles with their berry sauce. The full breakfast was absolutely huge, but it was perfectly done with delicious black pudding and sausage but also succulent, cooked tomatoes still on the vine. The eggs benedict looked great but was a bit overshadowed by the full breakfast calling my attention on the other side of me, and by my beautiful waffles that called 'eat me!' The waffles were gorgeous and I could go on and on about the berry compote! It was delicious and I have to say I worked hard to restrain myself from licking the plate clean.
Besides the fabulous food, the Blue Bear has a great ambiance to it. The couple who owns the place are really sweet and extremely dedicated to the Blue Bear. They work hard to make sure every customer enjoys their experience and the food. I also loved how they work with local artists to display beautiful artwork that is for sale. This brings home the overall theme of the Blue Bear that, for me, it represents not only a fantastic local business with great food but it is also a locals' place that is community-oriented.
C. M.
Their coffee, pastries and other treats are great, which makes it a great place for a quick lunch and coffee on the go during the week. Their weekend offering is just as good, with their brunches being one of the best I've had in Edinburgh. It gets busy though, so make sure you book!
K. H.
I really enjoyed my brunch at this chilled out cafe. "The Big Bear" is a cut above the usual fry up from a greasy spoon and is far better quality than it has a right to be at the price. The staff are all friendly and deliver great service. Good coffee, board games and table tennis to work up an appetite are the cherries on top.
G. P.
Friendly staff, comfy, bright and fantastic food, new menu is great.
Child and dog friendly, table tennis table in basement to help you work up an appetite, only issue is downstairs toilet.
Book if you want sunday breakfast/brunch as it is very popular.
R. B.
Highly recccomend the build a bear breakfast!! Great options and fast service! Very fresh and tasty 😍
B. S.
Fantastic café, amazing menu. Lovely staff. Had a super lunch experience. Highly recommended 👌
H. L.
This place does really good eggs - but the service can be improved upon. The waitresses were friendly and smiley, but they do seem amnesiac. Everything - from water to the bill - you have to ask for two to three times. Food - 5 stars, service - 2 stars!
G. R.
Friendly, fast and efficient service. Tap water supplied without the need to ask which I like. The place has a varied menu offering good value. I had soup which was tasty. We will be returning.
A. M.
Amazing hash browns & traditional Scottish breakfast!!!
A. D.
Amazing cappuccino with bailey's. The eggs Florentine was delicious and artfully presented. The staff and atmosphere were very welcoming. I truly enjoyed my brunch here and highly recommend it!
J. l.
Great breakfast burrito, you'll have to wait though at peak times (d'oh, it's a popular brunch spot in Edinburgh). The staff are lovely and deal with the chaos with humour and grace 💃🕺
J. T.
Service is fantastic, dog friendly and the choice of breakfast is oustanding. The smoked salmon is beautiful, soft and real luxury. Never been disappointed. Great value and a must if you love breakfast.
J. H.
Excellent dog friendly place with mostly breakfast options served all day. Friendly relaxed atmosphere. Often busy lunchtime and weekends. (Minor detail for regulars: No longer serving old favoirites "big bear breakfast" and "baked eggs with chorizo" though.)
g. s.
Went to the Blue Bear yesterday for breakfast whilst visiting from London for the weekend. Quite disappointing. I had eggs royale and the hollandaise was very thin and not enough on it and my partner had an omelette with a side of smashed avocado. The avocado was an incredibly small portion, maybe the size of a desert spoon for £1.50 and the omelette itself was tasteless. The service was good though.
J. L.
Staff are always really friendly and love to chat. I usually just get a coffee which in my opinion is some of the best beans in Edinburgh, but when I do get food aswell is is always good quality. Definitely worth a visit, and only a short walk round the corner from the Botanic Gardens.
It can get quite busy, especially on weekend mornings. I would recommend booking ahead.
G. J. R.
Delicious brunch options, and they have plenty of games, even a ping pong table.
J. B.
Lovely brunch spot in Cannonmills near to the botanics. Fresh, seasonal produce and friendly, helpful staff. I recommend the eggs benedict. We've never made it in the evening but there's a lovely atmosphere for weekend brunch - always busy with families.
S. H.
The owner went out of his way to make our experience and meal top notch. He accommodated my daughter's substitution requests and the meals were tasty and substantial. Great food, even better service.
C. M.
Um, yes. Blue Bear is my go-to brunch location. The food is amazing, the service is lovely, and it's location just around the corner from the Botanics makes it ideal to start off the perfect outing! Veggie options available as are lunch options. (Try the veggie nachos if you want a delicious mountain of goodness.)
S. P.
Friendly staff, great food and nice atmosphere. Also good veggie/vegan options. Will definitely come again!
J. M.
Their waffles are delicious! And the service is very good. It's a place I go back to because I know I will be happy eith my meal.
A. W.
Rodrigo the ninja waiter was on the scene like a flash when I splashed water all over myself. Very cool dude.
The café is quite nice too, good eats and coffee, very reasonably priced.
Hang here if you like dogs.
L. B.
I always like this place, the food is great,
Service is good, only down side is it's so popular that you have to book to be guaranteed a table. Great breakfast options and home-made cakes.
L. L.
Very reasonably priced, uncomplicated but tasty food. What more could a family want for a lazy Sunday brunch date? Games, we want games! And The Blue Bear deliver them, and a wide selection of newspapers and magazines too, if you are of a grown-up persuasion.
The Blue Bear is a relaxed, friendly gem of a place - combine it with a trip to The Botanics, or a walk along the Water of Leith for the perfect New Town Sunday.
The owners are lovely. Very friendly, and they also care about their customers' opinions. There's a wide selection of food, but my favourites are their breakfast and brunch offerings, like other reviewers, I'd recommend the French toast and eggs benedict.
My guilty pleasure is the meringue with fresh cream and fresh fruit. The meringue is the perfect texture, crunch outer, chewy inner. And who can go wrong with berries and cream?
C. G.
I love this place. I come here every time I visit Edinburgh.
Amazing food and lovely people
D. A.
Sitting in the cafe right now having been before and can honestly say its one of my favourite cafe's in Edinburgh
Really friendly staff and the food is amazing. Really fresh and not greasy at all.
Defo recommend the eggs rebecca
S. M.
Very nice lunch, excellent waitress, very polite and attended to everything we wanted. Covid measures very good.
M. I.
Nice cosy cafe, with delicious food (I had the cheesecake brownie), good coffee (steampunk coffee company) and lots of boardgames. A little poky - only just enough room for a pram. Also, on our visit they closed earlier than expected. Still recommended though!
S. M.
Love the Blue Bear and one of my favourite places in Edinburgh for brunch.
Ben and Jemma are lovely and the cafe always has a vibrant atmosphere. You can choose anything on the breakfast menu without going far wrong, but the Big Bear and, Eggs Royale (Benedict with Smoked Salmon) and French Toast with Bacon are all excellent.
C. A.
Really enjoyed our visit. Great service, brilliant menu and the food was delicious. We’ll definitely be back.
S. C.
The area seems to be going through a bit of a rejuvenation of sorts over the past couple of years: Earthy has popped up, Tesco has had a lick of paint and The Other Place as well as Cross & Corner have taken over their 2 old foosty pub predecessors.
The Blue Bear Cafe is another that fits this category and although I live on the same street as this little cafe, today was only my second visit...the other time was for a takeaway coffee (which was nice by the way).
Today I panicked as I had very little food in (dry pasta is not a suitable breakfast) so I decided to hit up Blue Bear as I'd heard they do a mean bacon roll. So I ordered said roll + a bacon/egg one for good measure. In hindsight, I'll let them off for my 10 minute wait for my takeaway order since they were pretty busy and I think they had a new start. I wasn't too chuffed at the time though. I was just thinking of my poor belly.
Unfortunately having a nice cafe with a well thought-out interior and great staff dont make up for 2 average breakfast rolls. Just make the bacon crispy...nobody doesnt like crispy bacon...everyone dislikes floppy bacon...floppy "I can get it in my work canteen" bacon.
I might go back, I might not.
Shame really.
p.s. please provide a knapkin with takeaway orders. I have egg in my beard.
R. E.
I just don’t get the reviews here and why anyone would queue for a table. Was an decidedly average breakfast and an expensive one at that. Staff were pleasant but the whole experience uninspired.
s. w.
great coffee and breakfast, and dog friendly. It was full when I get in, the service is quick and nice. The Florentine is the best I’ve ever had, love it so much!
S. K.
We were visiting Edinburgh on holiday and the Blue Bear was right near our BnB, so we decided to hit them up for breakfast. Food and portions were great, service was quick, staff was friendly and responsive, place was clean. What more can you ask?
M. M.
After a lovely toddle along the Water of Leith we stopped off for (a rather late) brunch at The Blue Bear. Hooray for all day breakfasty goodness!
I had the scrummy Eggs Royale and the boy went for The Big Bear brekkie. Both were tasty. We also had a nice big pot of tea in a rather elaborate tea pot.
The cafe itself is lovely and bright and on a nice day like yesterday was very appealing with tables outside in the sunshine. They had some nice photos and artwork up on the walls and the staff were very attentive.
Would definitely stop in again- it's a great location for lunch, just by the botanics and the Water of Leith.
C. S.
Fantastic breakfast, great atmosphere and really friendly staff. Loved that it was dog friendly too, even though we didn't have our dog with us.
M. M.
Delicious coffee, tasty food (the eggs had so much flavor!), friendly service and exceptional prices on their takeaway meal deals! Definitely, definitely go here!
M. W.
Excellent friendly breakfast place.
C. L.
An establishment which serves an impeccable cooked breakfast with a delightfully friendly level of service. No pretentiousness, no style-over-substance. Pram and family friendly setting also.
C. S.
Great place, with lots of breakfast choices.
M. B.
A wonderful little breakfast shop, loved the egg Benedict Royal, will definitely come again on my next visit to Edinburgh.
The only downside the place was not full and me and my son were left with no service, had to stand twice to request service..
thank you
S. S. (.
Great coffee, perfect french toast, cozy and welcoming.
D. K.
BOARD GAMES! Amazing service. Very welcoming, nice food pastries looked amazing( was not able to try because I was full 👍🏼😊) The price is absolutely worthy for it.
What I loved the most ... board games :D amazing.
P. V.
Great coffee, excellent food and brilliant service. Small outdoor seating area is nice in good weather. A real hidden treat in Edinburgh.
c. c.
Very small cafe, waffles and eggs Benedict were average.
C. P.
Nice relaxed wee place. Had some really enjoyable waffles along with a decent flat white. Service pleasant and fast throughout. Would give it 4.5 stars if I could! 🌟
J. W.
Great choice on the menu and at a good price. With lovely staff and great service it's an absolute must for breakfast and brunch lovers.
M. T.
So nice, we went back twice while we were staying in Edinburgh. Great food, no matter what you pick, and a wonderfully quaint view out the back if you can get a seat by the back window.
A. E.
Great wee spot in Canonmills, does a fab brunch - eggs benedict or the french toast with bacon and maple syrup are highly recommended! Friendly owners and cute dog!
L. Y.
Loved it! The staff are super friendly, service was fast, and it’s very clean. Great for a chilled morning breakfast
l.
Food was absolutely lovely and service was prompt. The waiting staff were also great. I’m only giving 4 stars because the female manager was extremely rude and curt.
M. A.
Amazing Eggs Benedict. We missed out on the scones since they sell out quickly. Our server was really friendly and gave us the right amount of attention.
E. L.
Normally I'd give a 4 or 5 stars to Blue Bear but waiting 15 minutes for a takeaway coffee is unbelievable and totally unacceptable. If you can't cope with takeaways and your sit in customers then perhaps it's time you chose one or the other.
D. J.
Great food at a reasonable price! Quite busy, so I would recommend a reservation. My only complaint is that I wish there was just a slight bit more service, as I waited over 10 minutes in between meal being finished before plates were cleared away, and we weren't checked in on in between.
R. M.
Awesome place, just had an incredible brunch. Service and atmosphere were spot on AND dog friendly! Will definitely be back!
E. D.
Hands down the best breakfast in Edinburgh!
J. B.
Beautiful little cafe.. Friendly staff.. Would defo recommend a visit.
I. A.
Amazing food, best place for brunch in the area. Must book.
G. H.
1st time at Blur Bear Cafe. Will be back great menu. V friendly staff
s. l.
Trust a man that loves his food! This cafe has amazing food and such a great vibe!! If you're in the area you must try this place out - wow :)
J. S.
Good breakfast, beautiful soft boiled eggs. Friendly staff. Buzzing atmosphere, love it!
F. B.
omg! So delicious haggis egg benedict and a brilliant pot of tea. Nom nom. Busy, fabulous, glad my friend booked a table!
R. K.
Service was very friendly, tea and coffee were ok but the poached eggs were seriously under done. Would have thoroughly enjoyed the eggs benedict and Hector were it not for that
c. h.
Amazing breakfast . When we are next back in Edinburgh I shall be heading here again. Delicious food and great service .
R. B.
Nice food a relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff but food a little short on flavour and attention to detail on orders could be better, I would go back but not quite the best experience.
J. F.
Love the atmosphere. The staff were great, enjoyed the food.
H. G.
Very small, but super cozy place for an intimate break. Staff friendly and precise, but coffee to improve. Food delicious!!
H. M.
I was there for brunch a few weeks ago. It was very busy so book or go early for fine coffee and tasty hangover abating waffles!
C. L. (.
I love their not to sweet creative bakes, waffles and French toast! Staff is super friendly too!
P. R.
Brilliant breakfast before heading back up the road. Quick and heart omelette, big pot O'tea. Will definitely come again!
t. o.
Very cute and small cafe. Best way to spend a rainy morning in edinburgh in this cosy place. Food amazing and stuff very friendly and helpful!!!
C. G.

(Translated) If you go to the "Water of Leith Walkway" you will come by automatically and take a short break.
I was there at 7:50, at -2 ° C outside temperature and was allowed to come in 10 minutes before the regular opening time to warm up a bit.
I had a hot chocolate with cream and marshmallows or rather a mountain of marshmallows, the blue bear waffles (yes, with blueberries) and the egg with mushrooms, hash browns, baked beans, etc. and it was so tasty!
The service is really nice and the cafe decorated with love. Brilliant is the large mural at the back with the railway bridge over the Firth of Forth.
