Absolutely amazing bakery. I have had my birthday cake made here twice and both times have been absolutely amazing. The cinammon buns are also to die for. Will always be my go to for amazing treats ☺️

We stumbled upon this minimalistic cafe on our way to check out Fettes College and was so blown away by the Carrot Cake!! I love carrot cake and this definitely is my favorite one out of all the cakes I’ve tried while in Edinburgh 💕

Wow! What a lovely wee place. The cakes are divine! The coffee was also lovely and my husband said it was the best Earl Grey tea he'd ever had. Watching people stop in their tracks at the window to stare longingly at the tasty creations was a lovely way to pass the day.

I had been to the Pastry Section pre Covid with a friend and loved it, good coffee,good cake. I was really happy to see them continue to operate throughout the pandemic serving from the door but as badly as I wanted one of their cakes it wasn't the same as sitting in. Cute and quaint atmosphere makes it better than your house. Then FINALLY they opened back up for sit inside and I was thrilled!!!! Their cakes are on a whole other level now, the portion sizes massive, the flavours amazing, the variety of the cakes makes choosing so difficult that you have to go with someone else so you can try 2 different cakes and not feel like you missed out. If I could give 10 stars I would!!! The coffee is still delicious, using Santu coffee who's roastry is located in the Biscuit Factory (I worked briefly with the owner for a time pre Covid) and produces a full bodied coffee blend. Again if I could give 10 stars I would but 5 will have to do. Keep up the good work Loves. X

The Pastry Section has the best pastries I've ever had. The cinnamon bun will save your soul. The frosting will change your life. You can't go wrong no matter what you get. I recommend warming whatever you get up in the oven at home to get the full experience. Your taste buds will explode.

This is one of the most beautiful, friendly, and delicious cafes I have been to in all my world travels. The staff is incredibly kind and funny, the decor is peaceful and modern, and the music selection is great. The pastries are amazing and all baked in house -- I had a croissant filled with almond marzipan and fresh raspberries, topped with freeze dried raspberries. It's on a lovely street with consignment shops, bakeries, butchers, and pubs, and filled with locals -- from the youngest (they have highchairs), to working millennials, to elderly couples. Drop by on your way to the botanical gardens, you won't be disappointed!

These are the BEST cakes in Edinburgh. They do the most amazing gateaux, cupcakes and slices, including the best gluten free cakes I've ever had anywhere. The staff are always friendly and lovely, and their covid set up is perfect. If you need a cake break, this is definitely the place to go!

This is a treasure located in the heart of Stockbridge. The staff are ever so friendly, and the baking that takes place is a work of art and ever so delicious 💛 You can’t go wrong with choosing one of their delicious coffee’s too along with a classic cinnamon bonus bun! I’ve also had a birthday cake made by them, and Phwoar😍 Simply exceptional! I can’t recommend them enough.

The best coffee and pastry of all Scotland! We had been travelling around Scotland for several days and had almost given up on the idea of trying good coffee. Until we finally found this wonderful place. The bakery is also excellent, the staff is very friendly. The Nanaimo bar and the Black Forest cake were both great. We had to take away because there were no seats available. The coffee was good. The only complaint was that the hot chocolate could’ve been a bit more chocolatey, but the homemade marshmallow that came with it was excellent.

The pastry section is my favourite cafe in Edinburgh! It unfailingly has the most mouthwateringly delicious cakes, and I have tried the majority of them! The interior is really cool, and it's always cosy with good music. The owner is a delight to chat to and all the staff are really friendly as well. I recommend anything meringue based, the chocolate hazelnut torte, the billionaires caramel shortbread and all of the brownies!

Visited here a couple of times but have yet to sit in. Busy every time which speaks of the quality of their cakes. They have a good Instagram feed updating their cake selection, and the variety has been good when we've visited. I usually come away with a brownie of some sort, and have had carrot cake and frangipane tart too - all excellent. Contactless payment accepted too which is very handy.
