Reviews of Word Of Mouth Leith
L. R.
Cute cafe with great customer service. I enjoyed a soup with bread & butter for 3.95 and friends got a late breakfast.
The guy working was funny and kept us well entertained. The inside seating was busy and quite warm, but we enjoyed sitting outside.
F. D. M.
Word of Mouth Leith was the perfect little cafe to go to begin the day. This was my first time in Edinburgh and needed someplace to go to have breakfast with friends and stumbled across it by chance. The latte and the croque madam were absolutely delicious and I can’t wait to come back again!
K. C.
A nice enough little cafe off Leith Walk. The pasties were tasty and coffee hot. The staff were wearing wee half visors rather than masks, and only some of the time, which didn't make me feel particularly comfortable, but that's my personal opinion.
L. M.
Dropped in for a breakfast ,nice wee place ,we took Eggs royale ,Cheese and Bacon Croisant and poached eggs on toast very tasty . Staff are friendly and helpful

Comfortable, relaxed friendly atmosphere
Nice staff
Good food, well prepared and produce of a quality standard
R. F.
Nice place. They have gluten free options but please double check with the staff as they were a bit confused about it. Best if there was a separate gf menu
M. U.
Cozy place with friendly staff, delicious coffee and breakfast. Ingredients are fresh. Can only recommend this place to anyone! :)
P.
I really liked their Egg royale 😋 The restaurant was very clean.
C. R.
A small and cozy cafe with simple menu for breakfast and lunch, which is served all day. Legit English breakfast! Was able to try black pudding. Servings are very filling. Also love the aroma of roasted coffee inside.
My only con is tables were small for 6 plates and 5 drinks. Nonetheless, they still have my 5 stars.
A. R.
Good food, a bit expensive if compare with quality and quantity, but Will Come again
M. N.
Great coffee! fine but overpriced breakfast for what it is, id rate it a 5/10 unfortunately. Would return for the great coffee but skip on the food.
nice staff and nice atmosphere

It is a great place to have breakfast. I highly recommend the benefic eggs or any of the sandwiches but my favourite is the croquet Monsieur: ESPECTACULAR!!!.
The owner is very friendly and talktive and he has always good stories to told you.
It is too busy, so you might have to wait a bit, but you know what?
It's worthwhile 😙👌🌟💖
(Even if is raining tho)
So please, stop reading the review, get out and go to the Word of mouth in my wonderful Leith!

We enjoyed an amazing breakfast here, I couldn't believe how much flavour was in this breakfast.
Service good, and just be cautious that is is incredibly compact in there with other tables and chairs, however I couldn't rate less because the food was so good.
Thank you
D. D.
Pleasant food and service. Enjoyed the full English breakfast, generous serving.
L. K.
Really good little cafe a little bit out the city centre. Had a wonderful mocha and waffles. Boyfriend had what he describes as "the best americano ever" and bought a bag to take home. Service was quick and friendly. My boyfriend spoke to the guy behind the counter who said they roast all their own beans fresh, and handpick the ones they sell. Also when buying beans they try to guess what you like judging by personality and what you order. Very interesting little cafe that I highly recommend.
G. O.
A coffee and a bun very nice it was to. Staff very hospitable, smiley, and helpful will be back in the near future.
E. M.
Delicious fresh food and pyramid tea bags, friendly service and gorgeous crockery to boot! It’s hard to find all day breakfast in Edinburgh and this little place is something I’m excited to have discovered. Will definitely be back.
D. M.
What a great we Cafe we come here when it was the storm beast from the east category red all shops where shut and everyone was snowed in. The day after all the shops had no bread and milk, but this Cafe was stalked up and we had a lovely breakfast 🍳 snowy leith and a great breakfast. Great staff and reasonable prices. Staff where nice too! Thank you
K. P.
Delicious place to grab breakfast or lunch. Eggs Benedict was enough to give my husband food envy. We got a quiche on the side, which was absolutely not necessary as it pushed us from a comfortable level of full straight into glutinous misery, but it was SO worth it. It’s always busy, but for good reason. The food and coffee is amazing, and the staff exceptional. This is now our favorite breakfast spot.
R. T.
Excellent breakfast!
So good we went back two days in a row.
The first day I had the vegie breakfast, and the second the waffles with berries - good portions, very tasty, and lovely coffee. You can also buy the beans to take home.
A. C.
They serve a truly delicious English breakfast! The place is quite small but very cozy and the coffee is quite good as well.
The quality price ratio in extremely high, considering that the a full English breakfast is less than £8 and it tastes great!
This place is called Word of Mouth for a reason...
L. F.
Ended up here coincidentally while looking for a place to have breakfast and a coffee. It's a small and space is tight, which made it only more original. Really good coffee and food, friendly staff and free cake!
A.
Small Cafe off Leith walk worth talking about!
This little cafe is a great place for a brunch, there was a little wait time for a table but we were seated fairly quickly. The veggie breakfast was great, with my only disappointment being the potato scone, however a small complaint for a great plate of food on the whole.
The service was good, and the cafe and a very lively vibe to it.
A. G.
Glad I found this place to have breakfast! The plave is small and cosy, they serve breakfast all day and lunch, fresly made smoothies and a variety of coffees to choose from. We went for full breakfast and eggs royale, really good! Would definitely recommend
L. H.
This little cafe was so cute and nice. Just 2 minus walk from my house. We ordered egg royale and full English breakfast, both were great and we all enjoyed it. Nice place for breakfast or brunch.
B. M.
Amazingly delicious and good portions of breakfast. I really enjoyed here and the service was super kind 😊
C. W.
One of the best coffees I've had anywhere in the world. Breakfast was great. Service was very friendly. I'll be returning for sure.
E. S.
I had the eggs benedict, which is one of their signature dishes, and it was DELICIOUS. Also had one of the best chai lattes ever. The cafe is small, but is in an ideal location near the Royal Mile. They also have a nice selection of baked goods.
R. W.
Excellent, lovely ambience warm and friendly. Breakfast was lovely and the coffee just perfect.

PREFECT PLACE TO GET BREAKFAST ANYTIME
The great thing about this cafe, is you are able to get breakfast all day. So for late risers who also want to enjoy a full English breakfast this is the place.
FULL ENGLISH
The full English is pretty good. More beans would have been nice but other than that it has everything required.
If you order a smoothie, be prepared to hear the crazy loud sounds from the blender. It's so loud!
D. L.
Used this cafe over the last 5 days as it was round the corner from where we were staying. Great service. Staff have a good memory for what people have ordered previously . Lovely almond croissant 🥐. Hubby loved his poached eggs. It was a great find. Certainly use again when we back up north. It was not badly priced.
C. C.
The food was sssoooooo good. My friends and I went there everyday for breakfast. It's a very cosy place with limited seating but the employees are willing to help you find a seat. :-)
D. L.
Brilliant eggs Benedict and fabulous coffee. Great way to start our day in Edinburgh.
M. Q.
Incredible place, good food, even better coffee. The people are kind and friendly too. The man roasts it himself, it’s absolute perfection. Must try.
D. S.
Great coffee and cakes. The staff are really nice and friendly too. Well worth a visit if you're in Leith
K. K.
Had a full breakfast that comes with a nicely done fried egg, haggis, sausage, bacons, tomato, baked beans, mushrooms and toasts! Utterly good! Price was decent & service was great. Recommended 👍🏻
K. F. R.
A very nice breakfast place. Affordable and tasty. The waffles are to die for. Cosy and small.
A. M.
Friendly staff and pretty good food. The portions were less than I expected and the amount of baked beans that comes with the breakfasts is weirdly small. Great local place if you live nearby but wouldn't recommend going out your way for it.
P. D.
Some mornings you want to have eggs Benedict in a small French style cafe without hopping on a flight to Paris, the word of mouth offers that vibe, edit Piaf greeted me via their sound system and my coffee was quickly ushered to my table, the food was great hot and on time although I don't think my server heard me say yes to having pepper, that's no big deal, usually busy get here early and bring a friend
K. H.
In Edinburgh for the weekend and we went here twice! Super cozy cafe with amazing food for not too pricey. The croque madame was just what I needed after a 6:00 flight. Everyone there was so nice and accommodating, too!
R. S.
Best full breakfast on the Leith Walk. If you experience a wait for a table or food, don’t panic! They will get to you and the food is worth the wait. The coffee is fresh ground, the music is vintage, and the atmosphere is amazing. And of course full brekky is served all day!
K. M.
Great cafe with great food. Good choice of food. Good service. Highly reccommend
C. J.
Love this wee cafe, can't believe I've only just discovered it. The Greek spinach pie is incredible, I would have submitted pictures but I ate it shortly after buying, Unreal! Great customer service, nicely priced food and very tasty treats. Looking forward to being able to sit in and chill when allowed.
D. D.
Wow! Just had an amazing breakfast here yesterday. Eggs benedict was to die for! 😋👏 Fabulous coffee too. Staff were super friendly and accommodating - remember to get your neck fan!!🤣
Can't recommend this place enough 😍
T. D.
A hearty breakfast to set us up for a day of Edinburgh sightseeing! Good service, friendly staff, and decent value
S. D.
Top of the best breakfast and Super nice and friendly staff! It is worth A visit! Italian cappuccino they make is amazing!
E. S.
The only problem with this place is it's so tiny inside. But the food there is worth waiting. Perfect for a boost of caffeine and sugar.
I. V.
We had breakfast here two times while we were in Edinburgh. We had full english breakfast, coffee, tea and croissants. Everything was delicious. Also great staff and atmosphere.

I can't recommend this cafe enough, in every way! The customer service is like no other, always such a warm welcome. Really decently priced for their delicious food & coffee! Lucky to have this as our local cafe.

Excellent full Scottish breakfast, quiet tiny place though

The best coffee! Good food too! Space is a bit tight due to popularity 🙃.

Very nice place to have breakfast, it was really delicious! It's worth to go there!

Fantastic place. Very good quality coffee and food. Extremely friendly owner and staff. Cosy ambience.
G. M.
Only popped in for a quick coffe and a catch up with a buddy, staff were friendly and accommodating. Coffe was delicious, I like a smoke with my morning coffe so the outside seating was sweet. Good decor and vibes. Do recommend.
P. G.
Had a great breakfast here. Definitely recommend

Excellent full Scottish breakfast, quiet tiny place though

Great cafe, been here a couple of times and it has always been delicious. Good coffee and would recommend the Chicken Wrap or the Croque Monsieur. Staff are nice and friendly. Excellent for breakfast or lunch.
S. P.
nice cosy place, soft music, friendly owner and staff, amazing food and coffee, excellent price!

Found this fantastic gem of a place for breakfast .
Their breakfast is freshly cooked , fresh ingredients , their bulgian waffles were finger licking . They do the best hot drinks. I tried their latte , espresso and cappuccino that was done so well. Lovely small homely cafe . Lovely staff . A must go to cafe for breakfast if you are in Edinburgh.
S. W.
Great place for breakfast and lunch. They make all the food themselves, really good quality!
K. m.
Great cooffe shop, great food, friendly service.

A HIDDEN GEM 💎
We booked a table for two. When we arrived the staff were very busy and yet they attended us quickly and kindly. They allowed us to choose a different table when we asked to too.
Food was delicius and they offer good variety, with vegetarian options.
Don't leave without trying desserts.
F. W.
Wonderful Little shop with nice and friendly staff. The full breakfast was phenomenal! Totally recommend.
M. S.
Loved this cafe. Great food, lovely staff and a relaxed atmosphere

I agree with another reviewer. The cafe used to be amazing. Great coffee and a gorgeous food menu. Home made cakes, soup and amazing sandwiches. Best fry up also.
It was LGBT friendly and ran by a French and Scottish couple. That really came across in food.
However it changed hands and now it is a bit disappointing. Still a nice place to go sit but the food has become more generic.
S. A.
Busy cafe with very friendly service which quickly puts you at ease. There's an option to pick your filling for your sandwiches if your picky or there's lots of options on the menu as well. Easy to pick vegan options but also a place to take meat lovers for their bacon sandwiches! Nice coffee and the cakes and pastries look really good though I haven't had a chance to try them yet.
e. t.
Delicious food, lovely coffee and best of all fantastic service. Very friendly staff. Although not a huge amount of space so be prepared not to get a table.
C. B.
I would give them 10 stars! What a great brunchwe had! We had a Full Breakfast and also ordered Benedikt eggs (w bacon), the best Benedikt eggs we've ever had. The service was perfect, very kind atmosphere, everyone quite nice and attentive.
J. H.
This place was fantastic. It was crowded on the morning we went but it was a Saturday morning, so that's expected. There isn't a whole lot of seating but we were able to find some outdoors which was fine. The food was awesome. The waffles didnt have much syrup and I was suspicious how they would taste but they didn't need it anyways! They were that good. Would definitely go there again if I make it back to Edinburgh.
R. P.
Great coffee. Always do lovely soups, cakes are spectacular and atmosphete is nice. Can be quite tight for space so be careful if you're bringing a buggie or maybe a wheelchair, as there might not be a lot of room depending on when you come.
G. S.
The atmosphere is very friendly here with the baristas having a chat with the regulars, and the roasted coffee is delicious. They’re open for people sitting in as well as out on the front. Will definitely visit again!
L. W.
My daughter and I were visiting from Canada and stumbled on this place two blocks from where we were staying. It was incredible. The food was amazing, the chai latte was perfect and the staff were great. We went back two days in a row and would have gone a lot more of we had found it sooner! I'll be back for sure!
K. B.
Small place with great food and coffee. A bit noisy, so don't go there looking for peace and quiet. Staff friendly, service minded and efficient. Often hard to get a table. Has an open kitchen and the smell of food is amazing at times.
B. C.
We came here for breakfast on our last day in Edinburgh, and I’m sad we didn’t discover it sooner! Hands down the best chai latte I’ve ever had - the perfect amount of spice and sweetness. The meal I ordered (French toast with berries) was also quite good.
Just be wary if you have a large group - it’s a very cozy and popular spot. It filled up shortly after we got there, and would probably have difficulty accommodating large groups (5+). Doable, but you might have to wait due to how many other people are there.
E. C.
Small independent location with live coffee roasters inside.
The place is simple and a bit small so you may find it quite packed during the day but, if you find a seat, you can enjoy a good coffee, some nice muffin and quiche.
Prices are in some measure below the average and the aroma of roasted coffee in the air is a nice touch
W. T. D.
This is a great place to grab breakfast, lunch, or just coffee and a pastry. Our AirBnB was close by so we frequented during our stay. Lovely place and best coffee we had in Scotland. The food is outrageously good and definitely not too expensive.
T. &. J.
The Full breakfast was served all day. Since my wife and I were on vacation and didn't get up in time for breakfast like normal folks, we found our way to word of mouth. Everything was tasty and the portion was more than enough to feed a hungry dude like me. The chi latte was spot on and my wife had the "Hot Chocolate Orange, need I say more!" Super.
T. T. (.
Friendly staff, tasty authentic food. The kind of place you could go every day. Pastries are good.
T. B.
Nice cafe. I had a full breakfast and a coffee. Everything was good although it states on the menu that they won't swap out any items on breakfasts for other items. This is not so good for people who have food intolerances or allergies.
I. M.
I visit regularly, food is great, I love the full breakfast and the sausage and egg chiabatta . wow. both the staff and owner are very friendly,I always feel welcome. their new coffee machine makes a mean latte.
M. Ł.
Nice place to eat breakfast, quite small though
V. G.
Amazing breakfast I had this morning. Recommend.
K. M.
Came in for lunch and found it to be very cosy and welcoming, the staff were excellent - helpful but relaxed.
The cafe was busy, but my order came in good time. I had a lemon chicken flat bread - delicious!
Great coffee too, and good spot for watching the world go by outside.
G. P.
One of the best brunch i everything madre. The coffee is amazing
D. B.
The best coffee! Good food too! Space is a bit tight due to popularity 🙃.
T. B.
Being there twice with my husband Ryan. The first time we had 2 Croque Madam plus delicious coffee and the second time he had a Full English Breakfast with tea and I had Royals Eggs Benedict with a small bottle of Fentimans Dandelion and Burdock. Absolutely lush! The place is cosy, a wee bit busy (as it's very popular), and the staff is friendly.
L. V.
Excellent place for breakfast! Good ambiance, good service and awesome food.
E. H.
Great local cafe, one of the best in the area. Coffee is excellent and the breakfast is just the right size. Good luck getting a table on the weekend though, there's often a bit of a queue!
C. D.
Excellent breakfast, staff friendly and food home-made. Thanks for everything
R. W.
Very lovely, warm, wee place to sit and enjoy a coffee!! And for breakfast I will say one of the best in Edinburgh.thanks for that
C. J.
A fantastic and well priced Cafe that's lasted over the years, understated and friendly. All homemade food, locally sourced. Well worth a visit either for a snack , meal or cooked breakfast. Coffee roasters on site, now that's worth the visit alone.
D. H.
Popped in for breakfast. Nice decor, friendly staff and good coffee to accompany a nice bacon and black pudding roll, at reasonable prices. Some people might frown at using ciabatta rolls instead of tradition Scottish morning rolls, but it was nice for a change.
B. B.
The cafe is cute, and located just below the airbnb we were staying at. The cafe is cute, with a 2/3 tables outside which could be quite pleasant on a sunny day. I went there two days in a row and the food is OK, however they cannot do a hollandaise sauce so skip the eggs with it if you don't want to have them drenched in melted butter. The first day I just thought the hollandaise was broken but as in the second day it was the same I can only assume that they don't know what it is supposed to be like (creamy, not liquid butter). The coffee is good and they have 2 non-dairy milks to choose from.

Had a really good lunch at the Word of Mouth cafe today. I had the absolutely delicious Croque Monsieur despite not being particularly pro-French and strongly recommend it. Coffee was top and service very good. Liking the tuck shop style sweetie selection - not had refreshers in a very long time.
J. B.
Delightful wee eatery serving an interesting all day breakfast and lunch menu. Lovely coffee and pastries.

📅 18.03.18📍Word of Mouth, Leith Walk
🍽What we ate: Tilds - Eggs Royale, Rex - Poached eggs and bacon, Split - Waffles with syrup and mixed berries
**********************************
Half of The Brunch Club walks past this little hotspot off Leith Walk every day, such is its proximity to his flat. The motivation for making Sunday the day he stopped instead of walking past was that the other half had just spent 28 hours on a coach and could only muster the energy to make it to the end of the road. Word of Mouth is, moreover, one of the better reviewed small cafes in Edinburgh and the place was packed.
**********************************
Breakdown:
👩🏼🍳Taste 4/5 - Headlined by the waffles, the smoked salmon and the coffee. Smoked salmon can often provoke scepticism but this was good quality and very tasty. The coffee was strong and dark, and the waffles were sweet and soft. We were both very happy.
👀Presentation 3/5 - Totally fine. Nothing remarkable, nothing unattractive. Definition of a 3/5
🌟Vibe 4/5 - Word of Mouth treads that line between madness and excitement. It is a very small space with lots of hungry customers, so at times it was a bit overwhelming. But the waiters were friendly and the service good. It picks up a late extra mark for a very in depth bit of cricket chat with a Bangladeshi waiter as we paid our bill. We’re both fans of Mahmudullah, neither of us like Dinesh Karthik.

Fell in love with this place. This tiny but rather busy café not far from the centre of Edinburgh offers delicious food and coffee for a reasonable price. Full breakfast cost roughly 7£, croissant with ham and cheese around 3£, regular espresso 1,70£. The staff is incredibly friendly, which makes this place very relaxing and enjoyable. If I ever come back to Edinburgh, this is where I'm heading!
A. B.
Love this place so much. The food is great and coffee amazing. I always enjoy the staff family like attitude towards me and my friend.
C. R.
Sunday morning bacon roll and slice of cheesecake to takeaway..... despite being busy, they took the time to have a little chat while I waited. Cheesecake alone was worth the visit, unlike some places they didn't have to load it with sugar to taste nice.
A. C.
Great spot for a Scottish breakfast. The food was amazing. The place itself is quite small and gets very warm when it's full.
J. B.
This is an okay place for lunch. The food is fine, nothing exceptional, and the staff is friendly (although some of them seem a bit clueless). Because of the open kitchen you run the risk of your clothes smelling of fried food, especially if you visit around breakfast time, but apart from that it's a decent cafe. The cosy decor and atmosphere make up for a lot!
J. S.
Cute and cozy café. Good breakfast options, and the owners are very kind and friendly. Happy we stumbled upon this place!
C. W.
Let me start off by saying this is the neighbourhood gem that many local restaurants aspire to become; I have yet to find the same quality of food in this area, and I would be slightly surprised if I found something of the same caliber. To be quite blunt, this is not a systematic restaurant that serves fast-food. Coming to Word of Mouth is a deliberate encounter. Basing my deduction on some of the negative reviews, I speculate that many arrive at Word of Mouth with unreasonable expectations, or perhaps worse: they have never experienced a small local diner that serves many returning customers and first-time tourists. On some days, it is extremely busy, and one should expect a period of waiting, as Word of Mouth cooks and serves its food with impeccable care. With reasonable prices and great food, this is a place to treat you and your friends. I assure you, the owner will accommodate you and your guests when possible. What more could you ask for when in Edinburgh?
A. Q.
Lovely little place with huge breakfast portions.
Clean tasty food.
Ideal for a relaxed breakfast outside in good weather.
Lena,Johny,Abdur keep it up. I am coming back for more
R.
Had the veggie breakfast and it was subpar. You receive baked beans, tomatoes, mushrooms, one egg, toast, a thin potato cake and vegetarian sausages. The one egg is meagre (why not two... that’s usually the standard) but fine. The mushrooms were also fine, but the baked beans and veg sausages tasted cheap, the thin potato cake was bland with an uninspiring texture, and the toast wasn’t very tasty. What happened to toasting slices of good crusty sourdough or even a crusty white?
I’d mix this up and make it two eggs (scrambled, poached or fried), scrap the veg sausages, keep the mushrooms and tomatoes, and add avocado and housemade hash browns.
Admittedly, I’ve been spoiled by all the wonderful brunch spots in Australia where they have it down to a T so that may have influenced this less than favourable review. On a positive note, the staff were attentive, and the coffee was nice.
G.
Really good bacon egg and cheese roll with one of the best coffees I've ever had. Very good value as well. I'd recommend this place for a good hungover breakfast!

I visited this place during my holiday in Edinburgh. And this place was my favourite.I went almost every day.i hade my best meal ever and coffee was amazing. And the staff very very friendly. Highly recommend. Thank you very much .I will be back guys.

Small and coast place with an amazing breakfast-coffee and also very friendly and attentive staff.
Makes the perfect combination to start a day.
S. G.
Lovely full English breakfast and very pleasant staff would recommend very highly
F. W.
Fantastic coffee, breakfast and service. Your lucky my to get a table as it’s very popular in the local area and for good reason
T. M.
Lovely, good food and lovely staff coffee truly excellent.
R. B. F.
We live down the road, and like to stop in occasionally for a coffee. The guys who work there are always so kind and always say hi and have a chat, even if they are very busy. And the coffee is wonderful. I cannot wait for a good excuse to go get breakfast.
C. G.
It is a really good breakfast place. The staff is very helpful and polite.
There is a gluten free option. The meal was delicious.👌
R. S. F.
The breakfasts here are delicious!! Such a lovely little place & oat milk option for coffee, amazing! 👏🏻👏🏻
D. T.
Staying just up the street from this cafe, I've been in plenty over the years, on and off. I'm not one to frequent cafes and the like but pop in now and again and it's always a great visit. Friendly staff, great food/drink and a comprehensive selection of homemade sweet and savoury food. Defo worth a visit if you like cosy cafes with a nice atmosphere.
D. C.
Fantastic food and service, all at reasonable prices. Our go-to cafe for our two weeks in Edinburgh. Just around the corner from our accommodation at Destiny Murano. Brilliant!
G. I.
Lovely cozy atmosphere. The food is really good and there us a food range of tea, coffee and cakes. Dietary requirements well catered for and friendly staff to boot :D
J. E.
Be transported to a little French cafe in the middle of Edinburgh. Hot drinks are always done well and the food is perfect always. I recommend for a lazy brunch date but be sure to book as they are always busy at the weekend.
M. T.
Quite small and cosy but the staff make you feel like you are part of the family joking with you and making room for your party. Downfall was my coffee came in a cute milkshake cup... but too hot to hold without a handle. When it finally cooled down it was worth the wait. I went for breakfast and had a perfect ciabatta roll with sausage but was eyeing up the amazing looking cakes and tray bakes. I will be heading back to get my hands on some of those. Perfect for catching up with friends as long as your conversation isn't too risky as i'm sure the table next will be able to hear it all!

Best cafe in Leith, great service, best cooked breakfast at good prices. Gf is gluten fewe and always have options for her as well. Coffees are amazing.
m. a.
It's a small place but you can find very lovely breakfast, and sandwich. A few sweet treats can finish an amazing meal, without extend to much money.
H. D. R.
Really good breakfast/brunch for a great price! A lot of really loud kitcheny noice in the serving room but for food like that I'll return as soon as I'm in the vicinity again.
R. Z.
Very cosy brunch / all day breakfast place. The food is very tasty and they roast their coffee. Highly recommended!
J. O.

S. S.

T. W.
Very good for cake! Friendly staff. Good selection of light meals. Veg*n friendly. Strong coffee.
A. B.
I had there only coffee and cake. The place is small but great service and specific atmosphere. The cake was amazing and also very good quality of coffee.
L. K. “. T.
Mocha is good, cappuccino is average. I did like the yoghurt and granola, but found it odd that it was a hot compote at the bottom. I tried some of the full breakfast and that was very boring
s. l.
Went there for a coffe and an almond tart. Very nice. Good service and very friendly. Will certainly go again.
M. H.
Amazing veggie breakfast, good coffee and really good service. Would definitely recommend!
S. U.
Good food, quick and friendly service, not much more you can ask for. The only thing I would ask for is more of it, the portions were a little small for my liking.
D. D.
Fabulous wee find. Great breakfast and friendly attentive staff.
R. S.
Cosy, great food and caring service what's not to like. Ah and you can see your food being prepared as kitchen is open.

Great food here. The place is a bit small but the coffee and did are top notch.
P. M.
Good coffee had the "big breakfast" I think it should of had two fried eggs rather than one, but other than that I came away satisfied.
s. D.
My husband and I were there today- lovely friendly staff and great food- Anna the chef cooked everything to perfection 👌👍🙏
A. H.
Food was amazing. And the staff was on point for service even on a busy Saturday morning.
Leave room for a slice of cheesecake.
L. A.
Great coffee, very delicious food, very friendly service. My favourite coffee shop in Edinburgh. Thank you guys
P. R.
The place to go for coffee or brunch. Delicious food reasonably priced. The chai latte and the croques are worth the visit. Very friendly staff.
P.
Breakfast menu was fairly limited, no swaps on anything on the menu. They only do two types of eggs, poached and fried, that's it. No scrambled egg lol
D. G.
Good coffee, OK food, friendly staff. Bought some beans from Ethiopia to take away which were fairly tasty.
L. H.
Gorgeous breakfast, great service. Fantastic atmosphere - support local businesses

Food is good but service not very nice. And You can feel like crew waiting for You to eat very quickly and leave table for another guests.
D. S.
Best latte we had during our stay in Edinburgh. Great little place to stop for breakfast and friendly helpful people.
Z. P.
Hearty soups, crusty warm bread, moreish cake and delicate teas are a few good reasons to visit Word of Mouth. You’ll also find art to buy, cute cards to pick up (I especially like the animals on bikes range by local artist Rebecca J Kaye) and homewares too. And that’s just during the day: swing by in the evening and you’ll likely find open mic poetry, acoustic music, a retro film screening or, if you’re very lucky, the delectable pudding night.
P. G.
Small and friendly cafe with a good selection of breakfast / brunch dishes served all day.
E. F.
Snug Cafe offering great breakfasts...Belgian waffles, eggs Benedict, pastries. Nice service.
M. H.
Great local cafe that does fresh cooked breakfast food - their croque monsieur is the perfect start on a 'wobbly' morning. Tiny though so often full.

Good place for coffee and breakfast
D. C.
Amazing food, great service, and coffee good enough to satisfy even pair of Melbourne coffee-snobs.

The coffee is OK, the eggs florentine were not good, waitress a bit rude, and the place does not really look up to hygienic standards.
