Reviews of Caberston Farm Coffee Shop

Toasties are 1 of the best I've had and the chocolate cake is very high on my list of the best... You can eat outside or in and the staff are great and polite. I could be here all week lol. Actually I will be because our holiday cottage is right next door. Think we are going to enjoy this week away and it's a good job I'm not diabetic when I'm on my jollies.! Great place to eat and drink 5 star

Good food, good coffee, lovely staff. Great choice of GF cakes which were super tasty and not your usual carrot cake or brownie. Had a Halloween theme and enjoyed my walnut and coffin cake. Ate far too much but enjoyed every bite.
B. W.
A good selection of food, soups, cakes and tray bakes. The chefs very knowledgeable and good with alot of experience. Good prices and friendly staff. I will be returning with my family.

Lovely cafe. Very clean and well organised to handle Coronavirus.
I hate lentil soup but theirs was outstandingly tasty. The Brie and cranberry Panini was also delicious. I therefore decided to also have a slice of chocolate cake and an Americano with an extra shot of expresso. Highly recommend this place.

Fab find! Fresh homemade soup saw delicious and when asked ingredients was able to tell me exactly what was in it. Caberston Stack sandwich was amazing. Looking forward to to cakes we bought to take away. A place to visit again when we come back to the Boarders.

Lovely cafe with the most delicious scones and cake. We were just passing through but will definitely stop in more often

Spacious
Ground floor level
Wheelchair access
Spotlessly clean.
Parking outside
Staff friendly and service quick.
Outdoor tables in courtyard if you prefer.
Beautiful views of the hills.
Two mins from river Tweed famed the world over by anglers and now cyclists.
Walkerburn was designed as a model village by the famous Henry Ballantyne and had one of the first hydro electric systems to power the Tweed mills.
The village still maintains it's status as a traditional village and has not been destroyed by over building.
A large cup of creamy cappuccino and a bacon roll cost £6.50

Pleasant staff and lovely food. Worth a visit.

Lovely tea-room offering a nice selection of home-baked cakes or freshly cooked snacks. Given the lack of Cafes or Tea rooms along this Border route it's a shame the signage isn't a bit better as you could easily drive by, which would be a shame as we very much enjoyed our lunch there.
D. J.
Outstanding great food and also the staff good wee stopping place for lunch.

I had low expectations given the exterior but man did they prove me wrong. Large inside with substantial meals available. Close the best cheese burger ive ever eaten (Tasty Burger in Boston probably gets that though). Good quality beef. Not too big. Basic but a bullseye.
A. S.

We go here whenever in the area for a light lunch and have always found the food to be of good quality. Staff are friendly and aim to please. Ample parking on the premises.
C. G.
Disappointing. Looks characterful from outside but disappointing inside, though interesting to have an open plan kitchen. Poor choice of vegetarian options.
Menu needs to be much bigger than an A4.
Disabled toilet had no light and appeared to have no lock on door.
M. N.
Nice place. Friendly staff. Good food and coffee.
K. S.
Great friendly staff. Super service. And best of all the food is scrumptious.
e. l.
Great food and lovely staff with reasonable parking. Just far too noisy with banging of dishes and pans. I recommend sitting in the back room
A. B.
Good food, excellent selection of cakes and a nice outside seating area at the rear
C. B.
It was so disappointing hardly anyone on five men at one table, three dogs and their walkers at another. I had really warm beans on toast and a pot for tea but no tea bag. I mentioned it to a waitress who told me, "You should have said". Well what did she think I was doing?
I won't go back, I'd hate to see how they manage when it's busy. I cannot understand why I wasn't offered a replacement. I feel robbed
S. B.
Staff were super friendly, generous and welcoming, service was quick and the food made it all worth coming across and down the feeding the pony decent. Shout out to the chocolate shortbread and triple decca BLT. Thank you, we will definitely be back :)

I've been coming here regularly for a few years now and have always found the staff pleasant and friendly, the food is always freshly made, the sponges and cakes are very nice and everything is clean. After reading a couple of the reviews, I think some people need a lesson in patience and also they should not blame the Caberston for their own problems.

We popped in on the way home from Peebles. Our elderly mother has a walker and access was perfect.
It was really busy but this actually made a great atmosphere. The staff were very helpful and attentive. We ordered the soup combo which came and we all thoroughly enjoyed it. Would highly recommend if your in the area pop in and give it a try.

Great place to stop for lunch or snack. Ideal for walkers or cyclists covering the many walks or cycle routes in the area. The service is fantastic as is the soup/sandwiches/scones/cakes/breakfasts or bacon rolls. On the main bus route so good to get the bus here, have breakfast and set of at the side of the cafe for mapped walk or river walk

Ive lived in walkerburn a few years and ive never ventured inside untill my home was to get new central heating in, in one day and the owner of the cafe said sit at the front with the dogs relax which i did .. everyone was friendly staff exceptional people skills but on this day i only had toast and tea as it was near pay day and i was skint lol .. but watched people come and go with smiles on there faces and said to my self i must try this we place out ... Like Walkerburn its self its A Wee Hidden Gem .. Ive ate out off cafes in innerlethian and further afield but this place beats them all We had a combi sandwich and soup .. other half had chicken and rice and egg maio sandwiches on fresh 50/50 bread i had tomatoe soup and the same maio sandwich .. tho im not really kean on that bread it was fresh the egg maio was delishous enough chunkey eggs in it.. the soup was to die for tangy creamy herby yum yum. I couldnt have made it any better my self and i decided i wanted a scone he wanted a cake both homemade may i add and never have i had a scone as nice as this cheese scone served with lurpack butter oh my goodness had i died and gone to heaven ? My other half had coconut cake he said he said he wanted the whole cake .. so if you have a we bit time pop into this We Hidden Gem you will fir sure be be pleasantly surprised.....
