Haven't travelled back and forth North Wales for a while, and glad to see this place open again under new ownership. A welcome stop, good service and food - pic is of the cheese ploughmans, which was very good.

Freshest homemade tomato soup and cheese salad sandwich. Interesting mix of cafe, shop and arts and crafts as well as indoor play area for children

Real nice cafe and lovely staff and owners. Really make you feel welcome and great food and service. Hopefuly be going again on a weekend

Stopped here on a whim and it was perfect. Great food at the cafe, good selection at the grocery store meant we could top up for camping and the play barn let our kids burn off some energy during our 5 hours on the road. Would definitely stop here again!

All the ingredients were fabulous and obviously locally produced with the smoked bacon and delicious sausages you could tell the owners who I was told have recently reopened the cafe new what delivering quality was all about !! 10 out of 10 even the toast was lovely and the flat white coffee was lush !! Shame I live in Gloucester or I'd be dining there every week or maybe day !!

Excellent breakfast at a very fair price. We were really happy with how quickly it was made...but looking at the roast pork that came out of the oven did make me think seriously about waiting for lunch. Lots of arty crafty extras to purchase if you like, and the shop at the entrance has a brilliant range of essentials for locals or holidayers. Absolutely deserves 5 stars.

Lovely Cafe and Farm shop style provisions

We stopped at Caffi JoJo on the way to Machynlleth, just wanted a light lunch. The sandwiches were excellent, not just a sandwich, lovely salad garnish and crisps. Will return.

-due to a 'chef down' situation service was slower than usual but this was made clear and didn't prove a problem, order arrived well presented....

An overdue review as the visits were both in August last year. We normally stop here on our annual summer trip up to my partner's family in North Wales, with another stop on the way back, and as always the quality of the food was fantastic. As, like everyone else, we didn't make the journey in 2020, we were surprised that the wooden mechanical toys and the bunnies had gone, but they were always an added bonus anyway. (I'm guessing that interactive toys weren't exactly covid-friendly). Besides, that didn't prevent us from making a stop for another very enjoyable meal on the return journey. We're hopefully travelling up to North Wales again in the next few weeks and as ever, we'll be stopping off in both directions for food. 5*

Spent a few hours here whilst waiting for husband to finish next leg of Glyndwr Way. Flat white coffee was underwhelming. The homemade tomato soup was very fresh and the cheese salad sandwich to accompany it for £6 was extremely fresh and tasty. Millionaire shortbread was tasty. Small craft shop, gifts and general stores were interesting.

An oasis on a hot arid journey.
Wife looking for a toilet, but we found ice cream , amazing mix of hot food (just had a sandwich after a full English earlier.still had ice cream also!
Also the mustards , other foods and toys and souvenirs looked so delightful.
Do tell me about your B&B ?
Also seemed to really appreciate the staff, after working hard through the heat (overheard conversations)

Two hungry pensioners and dog on a very hot day, sat in the shade & enjoyed a very late breakfast and CAKE!
Good food; cooked well x quickly served. Great value for money.
Recommend you call if passing.
Very helpful & friendly staff.

We all just had a lovely breakfast, before going on a walk. The team are lovely, the service is great, and we will be back soon. Thanks 👍 …

I live locally and regularly visit Jo Jo's, it's a lovely cafe, Jo and her team work very hard indeed to please people. She makes an awesome Latte. The food is always good and her paninis are divine. You will always get a cheery hello and a smile from the staff. I'm not sure about Tim & Kelly Power's remarks, seems to me very vindictive to both post disparaging reviews about a shared experience, alas it happens far too often on these sites. In Jo's defence it clearly says on the door, no dogs inside, and they're obviously not a very observant couple, the coffee machine is big and in full view behind the counter, you can't really miss it, also same with the play area on the left as you go in, again it's huge. Jo has a Welsh Cheddar ploughman's on her menu, that's what it is. Why would you expect different cheeses?
J. F.
Can sit outside with dog in a lovely little garden. We had sausage sandwiches for breakfast, very yummy 😋 …
D. D.
Fantastic Welsh ploughmans lunch, staff all very friendly and helpful. Will certainly return!
T. P.
A bit of a mixed experience but it didn't live up to the star rating. The ploughmans was very basic with only one type of very plain cheese and a few limp browning salad leaves. They don't have a coffee machine either if that is what you are hoping for. However there is a nice little outside garden you can take your dog into and the toilets were very clean.

Brilliant café. Delicious food and absolutely wonderful staff. Also a great little indoor play area. A safe clean environment for your small people on a wet day.

Visited Wales from Sunny Dorset and climbed Mount Snowdon. Stopped here for breakfast and I couldn't believe how nice it was, it really set us up for the journey home and was a great price. The premises were spotless and the staff are lovely!
J. H.
Really lovely food and atmosphere. Something for everyone on the menu and a play area for kids. Top notch.
j. s.
Great breakfast, friendly staff, handy little shop too.

Took my 91 year old Mum for a drive in the sunshine and lunch out. Food fresh and tasty with excellent menu variety. Lovely service. Also there is a shop for everyday items and craft shops to browse around.

This was a fantastic little find. It was our half way point on a 4 hour car journey. All we can say is please have a wander round the garden either whilst waiting for your food or after you have eaten. They have a stone built Gnome Kingdom including a Castle. Then next to the Brook in a little gated area is the Fairy Kingdom. They also have a stone built village. The thought and work that have gone into these are second to non. The food is also lovely and the staff really look after you. The little store is also very well stocked. Thank you for looking after us.

We have always stopped here on our journey down to Cardiff. Finding a good food stop on the A470 is not that easy. It has had a makeover and now looks so much better. The hot food is always freshly cooked to order, and the choice of cakes is good. Unfortunately, the last time we stopped here some of the items in the breakfast had been changed and not for the better, which is a shame.
In reply to the owner: Nothing was missing from the breakfast. The change I was referring to was that the sausages were too herby and it included smoked bacon.
W. S.
Nice friendly cafe and gift shop but the soft play area needs a rethink as the kids were disappointed when compared to other play areas.
M. A.
Lovely coffee and friendly staff. Not sure why customers with dogs are only able to use the outside area at the side when the garden space is so big? It feels like you've been put in the naughty corner tbh which was a bit weird when the rest of Wales is super-dog-friendly
E. R.
Visited here whilst staying at my father’s caravan at Cringoed. The food is delicious. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, it also has a lovely shop and play area. It really is well worth a visit. We will definitely be visiting regularly again on future holidays. Thank you so much.

My previous rating was probably a little unfair to be honest.
Stopped here again today and had a tea and Barra Brith. Lovely Barra and good value. The (not so) new owners and staff are very pleasant and doing well and I would recommend Cafe Jojo 👍
C. G.
We found this place by accident whilst on route to Snowdonia. Great food lovely staff. A myriad of foods available souvenirs and Off-licence
T. R.
This cafe looks much better since it has changed hands and I will be calling in again for food (much improved menu). I bought a couple take away cappuccinos on the way through (North to South Wales) and both my wife and I agreed the coffee was awful. I don’t know what was going on here! I would have taken them back had we not already been several miles down the road. I do hope this is just teething problems, because the cafe looks lovely and worth supporting.

A regular pit stop for many years on our journey to (and from) the coast. Formerly Machinations, the new owners have made some great changes including the outside covered seating area.
Great to see they are still stocking the timber model kits, a favourite of my boys for many years. Purchased one on the way up, a step up from Lego the kit kept him entertained for several hours during a rain and wind swept day at our campsite.
Super tasty Welsh breakfast and super friendly staff.
See you again next year!

Owner also does b&b at nearby cottage. Highly recommend. Breakfast was best so far after six days walking in this area.

Fantastic food quality and really good coffee. Only minor gripe was the staff seemed a bit disorganised and were not particularly attentive at the ordering station, nor when I walked over again to ask where the toilets were. However this was not long after the lifting of restrictions and they're probably still finding their feet. And the young lady who brought me my coffee and food was very polite. I'd have no reservations about visiting again 🙂
C. W.
Me my partner and our daughter enjoyed our stop off at this place on our way up to Llandudno. Nice little shop too and a great little play area for our daughter during our long drive.
R. P.
Called here today on the way back from Newtown to Machynlleth, we had a cooked breakfast and really enjoyed, service very quick and staff helpful. Can't find any decent tasting bacon and sausage these days, but in cafe jo jo the both was so tasty, and infact I left buying bacon and 2 lots of sausages. We will call again soon.

Was staying in bont dalgadfan for the mrs birthday, stopped by this place and ordered small breakfast and asked them to swap mushrooms and tomatos for extra sausage and bacon i told them i dont mind paying extra as i do to change my order back home in my city, it was excellent everything given to me on my plate was fresh and my girlfriend ordered the pancakes with the fruit and she said that was really nice and it was fluffy and american just as the menu said!!
