A fantastic place to have a nightout. Excellent cocktails, wonderful staff, great ambiance and the music is fantastic. They had a private room booked which we were able to have a karaoke and sing until our hearts content. Finger buffet food could be improved though. Overall a lovely place to be. Highly recommended.

Served by Lara, couldn’t have done anymore to ensure everyone was being attended to in a polite and prompt manner. Made recommendations for malts and cocktails and was attentive. Came in for a booking of 20 and all agreed we would return purely for the service we received from Lara and the team. The full staff team were great but Lara really stood out for us.

Estrella, worst I've tasted in glasgow, warm, flat, overpriced, not enough bar staff, queued for 15 mins for drink. Spoke to bar staff and for second drink, got served within 5 mins and gave 2 free pints of Menabraya , very very very impressed with Customer service .

I have just had dinner in here tonight and loved it first real pizza in 2 years. I am dairy intolerant and I saw they did a margarita pizza with vegan tofu. I know the pizzas are fresh so I ordered and explained my intolerance. The young lady who served us suggested the dairy free cheese instead. The pizza was fresh,tasted fabulous and made my night. Keep up the great work our waitress deserves a good Christmas bonus. Thankyou

Amazing views inside and from the terrace. The drinks are reasonably priced considering where it is situated as well. But the best part is the staff. They were hilarious, friendly, chatty and just great servers. They were still upbeat considering it was almost dead for a Sunday. But that shows passion for their work. Highly recommend you give this a visit.

It's been a favourite meeting point with friends during my time at Glasgow uni. Drinks are reasonably priced with good deals available during the week. Food has always been nice when we've ordered. Unique atmosphere, it's a bit dark inside but depends on where you're sitting to some extent. Staff are generally friendly, if busy.

Popped in for a spot of Sunday brunch while out in the West end. Was great! Staff very friendly and quickly got us a seat. Took our drinks order and left us to have a think a about what we wanted. I had the Scottish breakfast which was great, nice and clean not swimming in oil. My wife had poached eggs on toast which she really enjoyed. Will deffinently return. Think our waiter was Andrew!!

Really nice place. I like the music there, the staff is top level and you will definitely be serviced quite well. Food is delicious. The venue's got two cosy private rooms that could be hired in order to have your own gathering in there. Best place on Ashton Lane!

Great pub/restaurant very family friendly. Looks tiny on the outside but is very large and spacious on the inside. Reasonably priced for its location. Prices are always higher in the west end. Ashton lane where this place is located is a great day/night out.

Visited here for a surprise 40th lunch. We were in the karaoke room. Really quite disappointed, once in we all felt like we were forgotten about. Took an age for the staff to take drink orders, then another age for them to come. Also quite a few times the orders were wrong/short. We then filtered out into the main bar area. Where when we were being served at the bar it took 15 min?? They couldn't find a bottle of Pinot?? We were only getting 6 drinks and a bottle of wine in this order. None of which were cocktails.

Visiting Glasgow from Canada. Service was exceptional! Staff was very friendly, and had great recommendations for for my friend and I. The food itself is absolutely delicious, all the way to the dessert. Literally the best cheesecake I have had in my entire life.

My husband & I spent last night in the company of young and older family & friends for our 50th wedding anniversary in this place...From the first day I went to inquire about booking this venue we got nothing but attentive staff...Anything we asked for the staff went out their way to make it happen. We booked the mezzanine and a buffet believe me the staff up there were brilliant too...So because of all this and more we would definitely recommend this place for any events...👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻

Disappointed. We went as a group of 18, it took 30 mins to request a drink, then about another 30 minutes to see any food. The food was ok when it arrived, but the waiting spoiled the mood tbh. It was a generally very noisy place to be, with no music playing.

Venue added a star, amazing place. Giant old theatre, super tastefully done. Food was slow to come out (nearly an hour) but they discounted our bill by 20% which was already decent value. Food was decent but nothing too special.

I attended on Saturday 17th August for a wedding reception. The Grosvenor Cafe is a lovely venue set within the old picture house in Ashton Lane. The reception was held on the private mezzanine which had it's own bar, it gave a great view over the the whole venue. The staff were friendly and attentive and ensured everyone had a good night. The only negative was the DJ who was playing to the whole bar and not dedicated to the wedding. When asked for a couple of songs to played he abruptly said no and turned his back on the person requesting, I guess Beyonce and Bruno Mars are not trendy enough for the west end faithful. But apart from that everything else was great, definitely be back.

I am doing a postgrad at Glasgow uni and my class mates and I head over here every thursday after class. It is a really nice big space with a good variety of music and great, cheap drinks! They do student offers which really suits us as it is only £10 for a bottle of wine or £2 for a gin/vodka mixer. The staff are always so friendly and full of energy. The seem genuinely interested in what course we are on and we have built up a good relationship with them. It is undoubtedly this plus the cheap drinks that mean we come back here again and again!

Fantastic food. The pasta dishes are a treat. Lovely place to eat and very very family friendly, once you get up the stairs. All in all a favourite in the west end. Craft activities for kids are an inspired free service offered. Well done.

Having worked out in that direction a few years ago and also worked for a Michelin starred chef in Ireland who worked there himself ie Master Glen Blair who was awarded his stars at the Straveigian restaurant opposite the main building of Glasgow University I was very surprised at the lacklustre dated food on offer at a great price which I did expect the service was great and professional as were the dinning areas well polished and trim but both the food and presentation of the meal that were below anything I was expecting so I do not envisage that I will be able to return there unless I am told that it has been changed I believe that the steak had been marinaded shortly before as the oil and vinegar on the plate bore I even had to feel sorry for the plate and I have never said that or even though of saying that out loud before this instead of throwing my meal to the pigeon's and rat's outside I would have been better off subjecting them to my numerous £20'notes as the inky paper would be more appetising for the poor wee birds and animals don't go out there

It's a great place but the music was very disappointing, been before a while ago and the music was fantastic chart music with some old stuff ,and it was packed atmosphere grate people dancing so thought we would try it again , it was quite empty,was very surprised as they had drinks offers on but soon realised it was probably the music, lots of people looked like they would have appreciated a bit of music from the charts not remixed versions, hope they get the music sorted as it's a great place .
