Reviews of Jelly Hill Cafe Bar
I. H.
Well, what can we say? A rollercoaster of ups and downs here. Ups? Absolutely everything. Like everything - fantastic place, sharing platters a delight, super coffee and brilliant service. Downs? Just one but it was a biggie - my lunch companion got a bit of tablet with her tea, I got no such sweet delight with my coffee. As I said to Amy, our superbly attentive server, I don’t want to say it’s ruined my day but, well, you get the drift. Having come crashing down to earth with a bump, Amy sprang into action, apologising profusely on the way, and a small bag containing tablet appeared at the table. She had - just - redeemed herself, and the reputation of this establishment. Go, but look out for your tablet.
PS In case it’s not abundantly clear, this review is somewhat tongue-in-cheek. Brilliant place and Amy is utterly fabulous - highly recommended :)
PPS please make sure Amy stops apologising.

A nice, friendly small cafe/bar in the west end of Glasgow. Inside, the cafe is tastefully decorated with muted colours and lighting. There's a mixture of outdoor seating, high chairs, booths styles seats and standard cafe tables.
There's a fairly extensive menu of healthy foods good amount of choices by cafe standards, although we already had lunch, so just went for coffees. I ordered a cappuccino and my friend ordered a black coffee, both of which came with a small piece of fudge. I used my to flavour the coffee instead of sugar and that went well.
The staff are super friendly, very quick to take our order and make delicious coffees.

Lovely little west end café. Dog friendly too. Good breakfast roll and drink offer before 11. My daughter had the banana and chocolate waffles and couldn't finish it as was such a large portion. Some of the food options are on the pricier side though.

Only got coffee and too expensive for me. The place is cozy and chill but not really my atmosphere to work on uni work.

Nice place. High quality leaf tea and open till late on Sunday

Nice soup and sandwich, lovely patio seating and good service.

In the botanical gardens and friendly staff supplying lots of various snacks and drinks. West end prices but that's the west end for you. My daughter had 4 large chicken nuggets and chips with a can of fanta which was £6. The nuggets were breast of chicken and she said were great and I had a chip and they were good as well. Not your average chicken nuggets that's for sure. Everything was clean and covid aware and a pretty slick operation from the girls/women in controle of things

Great coffee, great service, great furniture. Probably the best coffee shop in the West End. Go there!

Lovely heated outdoor area to sit with the dog. Had a hot chocolate with whipped cream and marshmallows here tonight and it was delicious.

Lovely vibe in this independent cafe! It’s got lots of big wooden seating which gives it a modern vibe.
Lots of dogs seem to be there, so I’m guessing it’s dog friendly which is great.
The coffee was tasty and reasonably priced! The staff were friendly and attentive.
Went there to read in an afternoon, a little lively for reading but perfect for catching up with friends!
Would have been 5 stars if the cake selection was a bit better. I had fancied a cake but there weren’t many and none took my fancy.

Tasty brunch but slow service.

Pleasant staff. Good coffee. Clean toilets. Now my regular coffee shop before my Wednesday tai chi class!
J. M.
A really cute small cafe with a lovely atmosphere created by wooden furnishings and mirrors. I went for a coffee and cake in the morning but I can imagine you would feel just as at home with a glass of wine on an evening. The service was slow but the cake selection was pretty good (although I was told my first order of cake, the maple and pecan, had been sitting out since the previous evening) and the atmosphere was pleasant so it wouldn't out me off going back
S. L.
A nice little cafe but the service today was not very good as I had to ask the waitress when my food was coming. I had a warm croissant with brie and Parma but filling was a little sparse.....

Exceptional breakfast al fresco of the terrace amidst the pandemic. Yummy sourdough with scrambled + bacon and superb waffle with bacon and maple. Nice service too. And the capuccinos, with the touch of butterscotch toffee caramels, delish.

Nice decor, but found service a bit slow. 25 minutes for a microwaved baked potato. Bruchetta bread was over toasted and broke into a hundred pieces. Coffee was fine. Nice service staff. Sorry, need to do better.

Dog friendly! Great staff. Cozy atmosphere with decent music. Good food; great coffee. The selection of pastries is a bit limited, but what they do have is always delicious.
There is also a terraced area on the pavement, covered by an awning for the occasional raindrop or two.
I no longer drink alcohol, but their board says they are open till 10 on weekdays. The drinks menu lists about 1/2 dozen types of gin, rum, vodka, and whiskey, in additional to an assortment of liqueurs, wine, and beer.

It's was amazing! Loved the Mungo's beer......if only the weather has been a bit better.....but in Glashu we can't ask for too much, allegedly.

Have used JHC bar several times over the last few years. Different foods available for different types of dining. Excellent range, lovely hosts. Bottled real ales if you want, good tea & coffee if you don't.
Good value.

NOT. as in not happening. I needed to kill some time for my haircut appointment next door at Ellen Conlin which by the way did a great job and got five stars from me but sadly Jelly's did not live up to such a high bar. Wanted to sit outside. ( you know the covid thing) but was told not happening as in the table had not yet been cleared and to go inside.
(I should mention there was only one other customer in the place so I'm not being a prima donna here.) No offer to clear the table and waitress went off to do whatever one's does when things are slow. So I meekly plopped myself inside at a table for a minute before I came to my senses and said screw this. B.T.W, the free coffee at Ellen Conlin Hair was not bad.
A. M.
Only ever had coffee here but it's always good. You get a free piece of tablet with it , don't make my mistake think its a sugar cube and spend 5 minutes stirring your coffee trying to get it to dissolve

Oh my god I absolutely love jelly hill
It's by far the best little cafe ever
Been going here for so many years now and it never fails to impress
Would highly recommend to anyone in the area as it's by far the most exciting cafe in the West end offering lovely little treats from hot chocolate too nice sandwiches and bagels .
I personally love the toasted baguettes and soups with a side of salad if it's a nice day you even get to sit outside in the sunshine !
Jelly hill is an absolute pleasure to behold with friends and family as it's not just a cafe but a local greeting place for any west ender who is in the know and likes to catch up with each other on a regular !
I really appreciate the location as it's so quick and easy to get to if your in the jordanhill or broomhill area !
Totally worth the time making your way to this little hidden gem and spending a day with friends catching a nice brunch or simple coffee .
It's been going for years and years now and can totally see why it's still stands tall to this very day as the staff are so welcoming and will not leave you wanting whatsoever !
It has such a lovely vintage feel to it with all it's cool Interior touches and design !
The food is always on par with any other venues of the like and will always stand head and shoulders above the competition on a cozyness level ! All in all its a no brainor for anyone in the west end to atleast pitstop on this sweet sweet cafe and see it in all its glory
By far one of the nicest places to spend a lovely day when taking a break from work or even during a lunch break if your in the area 😉
M. H.
What a lovely wee place. The food and service were great.
K. W.
Such a cute little cafe. Dog friendly and very relaxed ! Worth a wee visit!

Fantastic lazy Sunday afternoon spent in this little gem of a place. Great selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, as well as tasty snacks. We went for the “Little Bites” platter, paté, bruschetta and mini bacon rolls-lovely. For drinks, cappuccino, hot chocolate very generously laced with Bailey’s and mulled wine, followed by truly gargantuan G’n’T’s and whisky liqueurs. Gregarious and efficient staff made the day. It’s no Paris Bistro(😉) but delightful none the less. Thank you, we’ll be back.
A. F.
Gorgeous decor, very friendly wait staff, and great food.
M. B.

A small, intimate and warm space with a short but very decent wine list and cocktails. Service is friendly and relaxed. Jelly Hill is a retreat from the street.
F. C.
Great food, music and coffee combined with awesome service and nice decor. Reasonable value for money with an awesome touch of tablet to compliment your drinks. We could t recommend it highly enough

Staff great, food lovely, interior depressing!
N. M.
So improved. Just please have champagne regularly instead of prosecco and sell by the glass perhaps and some cushions on the seating and you'll get 5 stars!
M. S.
I mean it wasn't bad and it was really busy so maybe I ordered the wrong thing but my lunch was pretty dry and tasteless. Cakes look better and staff nice
K. B.
