Visited for a soup and sandwich with my dad. They were a little slow in getting us a table despite it being fairly empty. Food came quickly and the soup and sandwich was delicious. Although the open sandwiches are a little messy :)
I ordered a Coke zero and the glass that was brought had a thick black hair in it, which I was slightly surprised at as I imagined they would have been checked before being brought out. But the girl was nice and changed it over immediately.
The atmosphere is lovely and very relaxed. You could just sit by and people watch through the window. The decor is absolutely stunning and very true to the original art Nouveau period.

Went for my birthday. Such a beautiful place. Great tea selection. Being an American this was my first time doing an experience like this and I loved every second of it. If you love tea I would highly recommend coming here. Great staff too

If you’re in Glasgow and you aren’t in here having delicious scones, amazing house-blended teas (the whisky flavoured teas!) and soaking up the very stylish architecture and fittings, you are Glasgowing INCORRECTLY. Easily fixed. Bring your mum. She will love it and so will you.

Lovely food, great staff and the atmosphere of a proper traditional tea room. We had one of the best scones we remember with homemade jam and cream which really was rather delicious. The selection if teas is impressive as well. The lady who served us could not be nicer. However, as someone who likes to choose to tip or not, I found the idea of charging 10% service fee for a table of 2 with a total spend of a bit over £19 on 2 scones and 2 pots of tea- a rather extreme one. I usually leave a tip as myself used to work in hospitality but making it something almost compulsory, as who will be brave enough to ask for it to be removed from the bill, is a push. Not to mention that service charge, if implemented, should be visibility advertised. A shame.

For those wanting to experience a taste of the Rennie Mackintosh design style. The tea room, exhibition and retail areas are a replica of the the original British Art nouveau Modern Style. The tea room is beautifully set out, the staff are friendly and the service efficient. Be aware though, this is a very popular destination and bookings will often be required. The next door exhibition and retail shop has a wide range of Mackintosh inspired items. There is also handy information related to other Mackintosh buildings within downtown Glasgow to visit.

A fantastic place with real connections to the past. Since it's renovation, the tea rooms themselves look astounding and brought back to their former glory.
The tour is informative and interesting, giving you access to areas not often seen. There's also a modest but top tier exhibition with genuinely engaging and interactive pieces.
Definitely a place to visit to better understand Mackintosh, Cranston, and to take a brief step back in time.

Beautiful place, a very generous afternoon tea (Japanese theme) and even more generous service! The staff really made a fuss over us and it was really, genuinely welcomed… Perhaps the finest service we received anywhere in Glasgow. Well worth a visit.

An oasis is of calm, neatness, subtlety, quality and cleanliness.
Courteous, efficient and friendly waiting staff and a perfect cuppa.
Step out of the hubbub of Sauchiehall Street into a peaceful world.
Excellent attention to Covid measures.

We had the luxury Afternoon Tea with Prosecco today. I loved all the decor and the story telling while we enjoyed our food. The tea and desserts were scrumptious and lived up to Willow’s reputation. However, there was a piece of sushi on the plate, of which the rice was half-cooked and didn’t stick together as it supposed to be. It was the worst shushi I have ever had. In addition, there were another two pieces of Asian pastries which tasted a bit disappointing. I had told my friend who had come to visit me from Dubai “Willow is the best afternoon tea in Glasgow” and felt quite embarrassed about that. I always like Willow’s scones and desserts but really suggest that they may need to work on improving Asian food if they want to include it.

Tea in the tea room, visit to the shop where I met the awesome staff -5 years since I visited and I was overawed at the changes made-refurb 4 years young . My first visit pre covid and when I am back home this is my favourite place to visit-the old tea room may be gone but the pride in what this place stands for is not -please support this charitable cause and Scotland this is a place to be proud of -the exhibition wow. Living in NZ now but this today made me proud to be home.
B. H.
I wanted to check out the renovated tearooms. They didn't disappoint. We stopped for lunch. The food was good but I'd recommend a visit simply to appreciate the talents of Mackintosh
H. P. (.
walked in for a cream tea.
the ground floor seemed a little bit crowded for me so asked for a seat upstairs and the manager kindly led me to upstairs which was nice and quite.
I highly recommend the duchess grey(with floral twist, better without milk) and coconut scone which comes with clotted cream and jam.
D. L.
The staff are friendly and the food is good. There is a wide range of tea to choose from and refill of a different tea is possible. The price is great for an afternoon tea. Realised service charge was not added during payment, would have asked about tipping given a next time as the service provided really deserved it.
N. M.
I loved it here. I had afternoon tea in the theme of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful. The setting was simply amazing! I would definitely recommend!!!
G.
Been there for a classic afternoon tea. Such a wonderful choice for us for celebrating a family special occasion! Great selection of teas, even for the ones who are not tea-lovers. Sandwiches were good, the cakes selection great, while scones with clotted cream and jam were absolutely delicious. Service was prompt and attentive. It was our first and much awaited for afternoon tea experience and we loved every second of it. Taking it in such an iconic architectural landmark just added to the whole thing. Would love to come back!
S. B.
First time visit after lots of recommendations...didn't disappoint at all.Special decor. Festive choices. Lovely staff, delicious food..Will return for afternoon tea!!

A Glasgow gem and the best afternoon tea I've been to, far beyond those in the Ritz/Fortnum and Mason.
Try to go to the Salon De Luxe on a special occasion. They have beautifully restored the room and recreated all the furniture and crockery to the original specifications with the original manufacturers. Its beautiful and the food and infinite tea, of all types, are delicious.
The service was very warm and precise, like a high end wine tasting.

Stunning restoration of the original Charles Rennie Mackintosh Willow tea rooms building, not to be confused with the Willow tea rooms on Buchanan St which owns the trading name but is not the original location. Although little had remained at or of this original location, The Mackintosh at the Willow has been painstakingly restored using authentic materials, original designs and appropriate craftsmanship. Scheduled tours of the entire building are available by staff who are experts in the history of the building and Mackintosh. I visited purely for a tour so can't comment on the tea, but the exterior and interiors alone are a sight to behold.
I. C.
Firstly we got confused … we wanted The Willow Tea Room with the high backed mackintosh chairs. This place is different!
Got the vegetarian afternoon tea. The green gazpacho was gross (very garlicky ) and not something that should be included. The sandwiches were claggy , indiscernible flavors and one was made with stale bread. The scones were delicious, the tea was delicious and the chocolates and other sweets were great.
The service was friendly . The actual space was dark and cold and lacked ambiance. Overpriced at 28 pounds per person. Meh!
J. K.
This is 5 star service and a 5 star treat for afternoon tea. We went with a voucher. Prosecco to start, I swapped mine for a fruit juice as I was driving. Then choice of tea and coffee. We had iced latte coffee and fruity white tea in a teapot. The cake stand duly arrived with two small bottles of beetroot soup, hot. The scones are warm, but it is worth taking your time over all the food. Smoked salmon sandwiches, ham sandwiches, chicken filled roll, egg mayonnaise filled pastry. The cakes were mad hatters tea party themed. Fun looking and the toadstools were fantastic, passion fruit ice cream. The service from the whole team was great. See the Mackintosh exhibition next door too.
A. T.
If I could give this amazing place more than 5 stars I would! It is stunning - from the exquisitely restored decor of the tea rooms, to the staff who all had a high attention to detail and customer service, to the beautifully cooked food - I can't find a single fault. What a way to celebrate my 50th! And the thoughtful gesture of a sweet treat to end our meal there was delightful and very much appreciated!
T. H.
This place is amazing, from the high tea to the design and architecture. I'd also highly recommend seeing the attached museum.
J. R.
We had a lovely afternoon here. Visited the exhibition which was very interactive and informative. Well stocked shop too. The Tea Room was lovely and staff very friendly. My soup and sandwich was very tasty. Will visit again when back in Glasgow!
G. K.
From many teas salons I've been to over the world, this is one of the finest!
You might go there for the historical aspects which have been very well preserved, and the exhibition does an excellent job as recounting the journey of one of Scotland greatest architect of his time and his bound with the audacious entrepreneur in Mrs Cranston, however, this is also a place that can become your go-to tea hideouts where to bring your friends on Sundays.
Of course, the afternoon tea is delicious, everything is tasty and delicate, and you cannot be disappointed. Service is excellent too. What really agreeably surprised me were the delicious gluten-free cakes, the cupcake and the spice cake, both are a marvel on the palate, and I have yet to find better ones after 10 years of searching for the perfect GF afternoon treat.
So, I'm more than delighted, and I cannot recommend it more !
B. M.
Very nice afternoon-tea in a very nice place, with a kind and attentive service, you will appreciate twice if you are a MacIntosh lover...
N. A.
Best afternoon tea we have ever had. Best prices too. They offer gluten-free free versions of most everything in the afternoon tea and they are exquisite Absolutely fabulous. For 23£, a delicious Charlie and the Chocolate Factory inspired tea. apparently they change things every month. Each and every pastry was absolutely amazing. And my daughter has celiac so each delicate, lovely, creative expertly crafted pastry was gluten-free free. One cake had some mango, there was lemon flavors, blueberry and even chocolate mint. Delicious soup too. My favorite sandwich was the chicken salad. The service was great too. We were so impressed. My daughter with celiac was thrilled to be able to eat out and was sure it was so good it couldn’t be gluten free;) superb gluten-free free and good all around. Lovely setting, great history and really impressive museum attached on the topic of Macintosh, Catherine Cranston (who commissioned the tea room) and Margaret MacDonald Macintosh.
F. D.
We had the festive afternoon tea, it was outstanding. Unlimited different teas from their extensive tea menu. Fantastic seasonally flavoured afternoon tea items. We also did the tour beforehand, which was wonderful. The service was excellent too.
K. Z.
A lovely tea room, serving quality afternoon tea! The scones are absolutely gorgeous. The service was top class as well. Definitely worth to come and visit this tea room with rich history!
B. C.
Salon de Luxe is excellent. Great staff and the historical overview was fantastic. The Champagne Afternoon Tea was excellent. Well worth a visit.
S. A.
Fantastic afternoon tea with a huge selection of teas that you could try, I'd recommend the Scottish Chai & the Orange Pekoe. The Mackintosh Exhibition is not to be missed, interactive and informative, one of the best I've seen.
M. W.
We took a day trip to Glasgow to visit the Kelvingrove Art Gallery and Museum to see the collection of Machintosh furniture. We had intended to finish our day at the beautifully restored Willow Tea Rooms with our kids. The tea was just lovely with right-sized options for the younger children, warm scones, and beautiful sweets. We ended up finishing our day next door at the Tour & Exhibition. I had not known it was there and didn’t intend to pay for admission but the interactive exhibits that brought 1890-1910 Glasgow to life and gave depth and context to the collaboration between the Mackintoshes and Ms. Cranston were really well done. And as promised the younger kids loved the period costumes! Wonderfully executed. Absolutely a must for anyone who enjoys the design/architecture from this watershed moment in history.
J. H.
A fabulous experience in beautiful surroundings, we ordered the afternoon tea for 3, the sandwiches and cakes were to die for. Staff were extremely helpful and professional. Recommended
R. L.
Great tearoom. I had excellent scone with jam and cream served in authentic blue and white china as chosen by Miss Cranston, who commissioned Charles Rennie Mackintosh to design the place. Highly recommended.
W. B.
Excellent lunch in stunning surroundings and the service was very, very good. Thank you.
F. P.
What a lovely renovated teahouse. Our group was in the billiards room and treated to a delightful menu of choices including vegan sweet potato soup, a haggis appetizer, baked salmon, baked chicken, a vegetarian pasta dish and several dessert choices.Servive was attentive and professional and we heard the story of this tearoom in Scottish history. All the food was presented hot and attractively plated. Both chicken and salmon were cooked tenderly as was the beef dish. Veggies crisp, bright and seasoned just right.
A great place to go for good food and beautiful surroundings.

I loved the experience that I had at McIntosh at the Willows. I only intended to go into the shop but then I did the visitor experience and took the private tour. It opened my eyes to so much of Charles Rennie MacIntosh that I wasn’t aware of. It also wonderful introduces Miss Cranston and her forward thinking of that era.
If you have a chance to go just do it. The restoration is exquisite and the knowledgeable guide pointed out authentic versus recreations. They are extremely hard to discern to the unknown eye.
M. S.
Management was incredibly accommodating and made space for two Americans. We traveled here all the way from North Carolina to enjoy some quality time here, and it was so worth it. Loved it here
C. N.
Mackintosh at the Willow is a fantastic Art Nouveau interior restored to its original pristine condition. The interactive exhibition is a must see for anyone interested in design and Victorian history, with an in-depth tour led by friendly and knowledgeable tour guides. The original 1900s decor with jazz music in the background made for a relaxed and authentic dining experience. From the tourguides to the giftshop to the tearoom itself, a highly professional service which runs like clockwork. We can't wait to visit again!
J. J.
We had afternoon tea in the restored tea room and it was lovely. The restoration is fabulous and it is well worth a visit for that alone. The afternoon tea itself was really nice. I found it to be a good size and the sandwiches and cakes were lovely. I would definitely come again.
J. D.
We met friends for Sunday afternoon tea. We sat in the upstairs, a beautiful restored space. We had afternoon tea, the cakes were delicious. The sandwiches are classic. The tea itself was fine, but not extroadinary. I recommend visiting, particularly to experience the Mackintosh decor.
s. Q.
I was given a voucher for afternoon tea for two at Mackintosh at the Willow. The staff were so friendly and helpful and chatty. The food was lovely and we were not rushed out the door. I would definitely go back again
M. D.
Beautiful surroundings that accurately recall the sumptuousness of early 20th Century Glasgow, highlighting Mackintosh's abundant contributions to architecture and design. Oh, and the breakfast was delicious, too! Also well worth taking a guided tour (45 minutes or so) and visiting the exhibition in the back of the adjacent gift store, especially if you're at all interested in Mackintosh's (and his wife, Margaret Macdonald's) body of work.
N. V.
Amazing experience!!!! Everything was fresh, with great attention to detail. Delicious!!! The entire staff was not only knowledgeable but eager to please and help as little or as much as you require. The tea selection is fantastic! Make sure you end up at the correct tearoom....this is the one designed by Mackintosh.
P. K.
Lovingly restored to its glory. It's worth stopping here for lunch or afternoon tea however the sandwiches and cakes could have been fresher. The sandwiches were slightly dry around the edges and the cakes were cold. Food should be enjoyed at room temperature. They need more staff!
R. A.
Wonderful experience. Waiting staff were so attentive but not intrusive. Afternoon tea started with pea soup and minute spring tarts, melt in the mouth pastry. The sandwiches were lovely, the scones with jam and clotted cream delicious and the dainty cakes were scrumptious. We couldn't finish it all as we were so full. Would definately recommend the afternoon tea. The surroundings were beautiful too. A step back on time. Couldn't have had a better experience.
R. F.
It is surely fantastic to see Mackintosh’s work being brought back to life and restored! Bathing in the sunlight with the tranquillity, it’s just perfect for a afternoon tea experience!
C. F.
A lovely oasis in a busy city, lovely to be pampered! We had scones jam and cream (mine gluten free) and lovely leaf tea from a huge selection. All very tasty. Relaxing atmosphere, friendly staff.
S. R.
I had an amazing afternoon tea here. My dad has a few allergies and they went out of their way to make sure that he didnt get any of these but also still had the beat afternoon tea possible. The cranachin was my favourite ❤❤
C. B.
I had the pleasure of trying their Afternoon tea at Home from Mackintosh at The Willow and it's absolutely delightful. Presentation is fantastic, a beautiful box that works as a 3 tiered stand, with plenty of savoury and sweet options, including mini steak pies and haggis bon bons! The desserts are stunning and delicious. Outstanding value at £15pp!
S. H.
Went for lunch here today. £45 for the 4 of us, but lovely sandwiches, cakes and soup. Service was excellent too.
F. C.
Amazing afternoon tea. Great gluten free options, knowledgeable staff. Can't say enough about what a fabulous experience this was. Will definitely be going back.
R. H.
I have travelled Europe eating cheesecake and this is the best, this week was chocolate with passion fruit, superb and a bargain at £5.95. The chairs upstairs are a bit uncomfortable but it could be the shape of my backside...
M. S.
I had a lovely lunch here on Friday, lentil soup and a salmon sandwich and coffee and shortbread, the service was good Elaine was our main waitress, soup was in a large mug and the sandwich with a good size too, the coffee mugs are huge! I will come back.
D. C.
Persuaded staff to give us a “sneaky peek” the day before the official opening by The Duke and Duchess of Rothesay, (Charles and Camilla) on 7 September 2018 after a 3 month delay. The salon de luxe and the billiard room are wonderfully restored. I realised that the salon de luxe was where I’d eaten many, many years ago. We then had an afternoon tea on the tearoom on the ground floor. The portion sizes didn’t skimp and were very tasty. We finished our visit in the gift shop attached on one side. Definitely worth a visit.
A. M.
Ruinously expensive; Weak on service; trying too hard to be something it's never going to be. Maître d's march up and down whilst looking down at customers and holding their noses in the air. I might put up with that in a Michelin star restaurant but let's get real here folks; It's a Glasgow Tea Room. Do just three things well, quality service, quality tea and quality cakes. I'd say the latter two were good, but scones that are kissing £6 and sandwiches knocking £9 that don't even feature two slices of bread (no lid) is pushing your luck. Too much rocket and mustard on the food then rewarded with a bill that has a service charge that needs writing off faster than Brazil's national debt.....
S.
Went for afternoon tea and wasn't disappointed a beautiful restaurant the afternoon tea was absolutely amazing the cakes were to die for their pastry chef is fabulous the sandwiches were delicious and the scones lovely. The service was perfect having been in the trade at all levels all my life I was very impressed. Absolutely worth a visit the best afternoon tea in town and having been to the duck Bay marina the willow tearooms the best for miles 😀 thank you to my son for the voucher and thank you to the staff for a perfect afternoon ❤
K. T.
During a visit with my mum to Glasgow, we visited both the Willow Tea Rooms and Macintosh at the Willow. Both were lovely, but if you can visit only one, make sure it is Macintosh at the Willow. The decor has been restored to an incredible standard and it truly felt like we were in a 1920s tea room. We cannot thank Thomas and Yvonne enough for their kindness which made our holiday. Their knowledge and enthusiasm really made the experience memorable. Thanks again to them both.
n. l.
My wife and I were in the tea room today and from the minute that we entered the establishment we were greeted with a warm welcome by the lady in the gift shop who gave us an insight of the tea room before we started the tour. The exhibition is superb and it's amazing what you don't know about your own city and Rennie Macintosh himself and Miss Cranston. The manager and staff in the tea room are excellent and the food and service was brilliant we will be back again and will recommend it to our friends and family. Thank you again.
J. P.
Friendly service, great range of tea, the scones and jam with Great.
The decor is to die for.
A. H.
Today my wife and I had afternoon tea at mackintosh at the Willow, it was excellent, the staff were very friendly. Rachel our waitress explained all the fillings of the sandwiches and various cakes, the ambience was relaxing, even though the staff were wearing face masks we could tell they were happy, nothing was to much trouble, also considering we're still in a covid environment it felt very safe. We will definitely return. Thank you so much to all the team from the chef to the pot washer. 10 out of 10.
H. I.
Went for festive afternoon tea! The room was very nice and the table nice and clean and all frocks and cutlery etc well presented! Our orders were taken and the food came quite a while after the tea which was beginning to get cold! The sandwiches and cakes were very nice but the scones were more like cold rock cakes and the pigs in blankets were cold! The service was almost non existent after we were initially presented with our order!
A few things to brush up on there and we might return.
J. C.
Superb to finally go here for afternoon tea. It didn't disappointed and was a wonderful experience in a wonderful building. The staff member who served us was extremely knowledgeable about the history of the tearooms and you could tell he was very proud to be a part of it, so he should. Couldn't recommend this experience enough.. 10/10
J. H.
Fantastic tea room and so much more...
The fruit scones are second to none and the tea matches with it's level of refreshing quality.
There's a Mackintosh shop and museum and Pauline was so welcoming and guided us in from the rain of Glasgow into the tea room. We looked around the fascinating museum and then got chatting with Pauline again and she the took the time to show us the Deluxe Tea Salon. Stunning.
We will definitely make the effort to come again.
P. D. C.
If it were possible, this deserves six starts. Superb afternoon tea offering excellent value. Great selection of standard, vegetarian or vegan sandwiches. Wide range of high quality teas available and you can have as many different teas as you wish, all included in the price. Friendly, attentive service, which cannot be faulted. Can't wait to return for another lovely treat.
S. M.
The full on Mackintosh tea house experience.
The beautifully renovated interior of Mrs Cranston's tea room makes this a both an historic landmark and a dining experience, with the clean lines and stark geometry of Mackintosh, softened by subtle curves and classic Mack decor.
Attentive service and a relatively simple menu (we had afternoon tea for 2) make this a perfectly pleasant place to enjoy an hour away from the busy shops and bars on Sauchiehall Street. This tranquil tea-house will take you to a more elegant time of taste and refinement.
4 1/2* only by virtue of the expense - including tip, a la carte, it's £50 for tea, cakes and sandwiches for two which felt a wee bit steep.
H. M.
Lovely tea room, tasty food and a large selection of teas
L. L.
Fantastic
Good service lovely range of teas
And afternoon tea was delightful
M. R.
To give the Willows credit I was eating on my own on a November Monday afternoon and it is a historical reconstruction.
J. M.
Fantastic. Couldn't fault the food drinks service atmosphere immaculate perfect staff..I always take friends and family here.wish you got this sane great level of service and quality ingredients everywhere.thanks all

A wonderful place.Had breakfast .The prices are amazing cheap considering the setting. The service was excellent . Recommend this place highly.
M. B.
Fantastic experience, beautiful building and decor especially if you're a Rennie Mackintosh fan. Expensive afternoon tea but worth every penny.
M. T.
Tried tea and deserts here. The afternoon tea set looks great but didn't I have a chance to try it. The wait time to get our tea and deserts felt really long.
Y. S.
Beautiful restored 'art nouveau' tearoom designed by Charles Rennie Mackintosh. Actual leaf tea served in Willow crockery, and delicious ginger and treacle cake. Note that there seem to be a few other tearooms in Glasgow called 'Willow' but I'm told these are only inspired by CRM design. This original one didn't come up in my search on Google Maps.
R. R.
Hands down the best afternoon tea I've ever had! The service and attitude from staff was incredible. They were all so friendly but expecially the woman at reception. She went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and took so much time with us to make our experience positive.
The afternoon tea itself was outstanding. The sandwiches were delicious. Usually there's one type of sandwich that isn't great but all of them were lovely. The scones were so warm and fresh and my mother in law who has a high standard when it comes to scones, loved them. Obsessed over the mini pancakes and the mini pavlovas were so yummy. I've not got much of a sweet tooth but loved every part of this afternoon tea. The cakes were light. The tea was great. And overall it was just amazing. Desperate to go back again.

Cannot recommend visiting enough honestly one of the best art & history experiences I’ve ever been on. My mum and I went for the tour of the building at 10am, then had lunch in the cafe and went through the exhibition, we left at 2pm! It’s an absolutely beautiful building Macintosh’s designs are stunning and all the staff are really passionate and knowledgeable, any question you have to ask about Macintosh, Mrs Cranston or the building they’ll know, even if you don’t have questions they’re more than willing just to have a chat about what your opinions on the building and experience! Definitely do the tour if you can because that way you get to see all the rooms that you wouldn’t otherwise, the Salon de Luxe is absolutely the best thing! The food in the cafe is lush, I had the hummus and rocket sandwich and that days soup which was lentil and coconut. Their selection of tea is amazing and most (perhaps all) are loose tea leaves. The scones are absolutely to die for if you go you must have a scone and tea! The service was also really nice and very quick as it’s a busy venue. A must go!!
G. R.
Visited today for lunch, excellent service and delicious food as always, the staff are second to none.
Always well worth a visit A+
j. h.
Attended today and whilst the food was good, I thought it was over-priced, especially the Bakewell Tart. The service was initially very slow for a quiet day. Then become somewhat intrusive. Unlikely to re-visit despite the lovely surroundings. A pianist may have helped the atmosphere, or lack of it in my opinion.
A. L.
Loved the champagne afternoon tea. All presented beautifully and really fresh! Cakes were delicious- bonus that tea/coffees were unlimited too. 😋
A. S.
Lovely surroundings and delicious treats. If you are visiting Glasgow and looking for a treat this is perfect.

Tour and exhibition are a fantastic way to see Mrs Cranston's tearoom as she and CRM intended AND get to explore the history behind it, tearoom culture, design, craftsmanship and more. The tour staff showed absolute passion and were full of information, on historical elements and on the recent restoration work. The chance to explore before tearoom guests arrive is a wonderful opportunity. The exhibition was a pleasant revelation of ingenuity with a little humour sprinkled around which I won't spoil the surprises. As a fan of Charles Rennie Mackintosh, there was so much more to explore and see than you can find in book or online, they have really worked to bring it to life. The space is so well thought out down to small details, lots of accessible options for everyone to enjoy. All the staff were welcoming and super helpful. Can't thank them enough, an excellent experience for Mackintosh fans. Then go enjoy the tearoom as intended with fabulous cakes, teas and coffees.
K. M.
This venue is beautiful. Our party started on the roof terrace. Great sky and the food was so fresh and tasty. We ventured downstairs for pots of tea and a great atmosphere, can't fault the service friendly and very accommodating but not intrusive, 3 hours of indulgence❤️❤️❤️
T. M.
Had a lovely relaxing afternoon with 5 other friends in the beautiful tea room. Staff were very helpful and friendly and communication via email was spot on. The waitress we had though perhaps needs a bit of training regarding taking orders as she had to return a couple of times to ask what we ordered, even though she had written it down and had totally missed out taking one of my friends order completely. Not sure if she was new? Apart from that we will definitely book again. from Misteex party.
M. W.
Excellent afternoon tea, nice selection of sandwiches, scones and deserts
C. C.
I had a lovely experience here with my daughter. A lovely welcome and warm chat from Yvonne and Hannah at the start and end of our journey through the beautifully organised museum, after which we had tea and freshly made scones served by very friendly waiting staff. I will definitely be back there soon, no doubt with friends in tow. I made some purchases in the shop before leaving and had a10%discount, which was very welcome. Thankyou to all the lovely staff for making our day very pleasant. Look forward to seeing you all again soon. Xx🌹❤️

Lovely place with excellent breakfast. They have a diverse amount of tea on there menu and they serve it with unlimited hot water. Definitely recommend this place

Amazing afternoon tea. Excellent service and staff are very friendly and polite. We ordered the Charlie And The Chocolate Factory Themed Afternoon Tea and it was amazing. All food received was absolutely delicious. STRONGLY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Did the tour of the new building and had lunch. Well worth a visit.
C. M.
Afternoon Tea was very good and the venue is excellent - the attention to detail is second to none. Staff were friendly, polite and helpful. We'll definitely be back.
S. M.
Lovely tearoom, lovely staff, great food. Duff (clootie dumpling) almost as good as granny used to make.
C. I.
The lunch was lovely (I had a very nice quiche) and everyone was attentive and friendly. The cashier in the shop recommended the scones and I waffled about it for a while, tempted by more “desserty” treats. However, I ended up being extremely happy with my choice. The scones were lovely – dense yet light and fluffy, with a bit of a lemony flavour. And, of course, the decor was magnificent. It was so exciting to see the restoration. I would definitely come back for lunch or tea!
p. s.
A warm welcoming experience with very helpful staff. You must do the tour after you eat, it is really interesting, specially if you are CRM fans like us!
G. T.
Afternoon tea, tour and exhibition was absolutely wonderful. The Deluxe Room must be seen to appreciate its beauty. All staff were a credit to Miss Cranston 🤗

Wonderful experience today! Went in just to have a look for Christmas gifts and ended up having a lovely chat with the guy that works there and having my stuff gift-wrapped by the lady while I shopped. Sadly I didn't catch their names but thank you so much for a great Christmas shopping experience.
R. B.
Lovely tea room carefully restored to as close as possible to the original Mackintosh design. You can go on a tour which takes you through all the rooms and the history of the site and the restoration. Best to pre-book on the tour which is very interesting. There is also a shop and a small exhibition.
We had breakfast here twice in the tea room and it was very good both times. Try the porridge which is superb. I was not too keen on the granola though which was very hard, almost gritty.
Service was excellent but it was fairly quiet when we went. They have a lot of tables so I can imagine it could get very busy at lunch and afternoon tea times and the service might then be slower.
c. s.
Such a wonderful afternoon tea. The staff where amazing and so attentive and knowledgable ☺️
Z. V. T.
Even if I fail to mention all the wonderful things on the menu in the Salon de Luxe, I have to talk about the cream tea: the freshly baked scones and the best clotted cream ever. The selection of teas is wonderful too.
L.
Had the Alice afternoon tea today and it was a real treat! Just perfect in every way. Highly recommend. Staff , food, and sitting on the mezzanine level fabulous in every way!
I. T. C.
Best service I have had in Glasgow! All the staffs are nice and friendly with welcome attitudes. Elegant teaware and cute theme cake. I Wanna go back for afternoon tea again! 🤩
H. R.
Authentically maintained Mackintosh building so a wonderful venue. The staff were attentive and keen to please. Our waitress Meghan was very knowledgeable about the history of the cafe. The food was good and not expensive. We will come back.
S. M.
I visited the Mackintosh at the Willow Tea Rooms last week with a group of friends for afternoon tea. We had booked the Salon De Luxe( £5 extra) which I think was well worth it. It was such a stunning room. It blew us all away. The afternoon tea was gorgeous from the little finger sandwiches, the best scones I've ever tasted to the exquisite cakes. It was very decadent. There were a number of afternoon teas available we had the teas & coffees. I would recommend the orange blossom oolong tea. The waitress was lovely, staff were very polite & could not do enough for us. There is a lift to get to all floors especially for people with poor mobility. I can't wait to go on my next visit.
R. V.
We visited today - the second day of their being open! The staff were friendly, patient, and eager to please. The tea selection was delightful - we had someone come out and explain the selection as well. The "classic" selection of food served with the tea is also good, with fresh salmon, tomato, cucumber, and cold cuts to choose from. The rennovated space does a wonderful job capturing the atmosphere of the 1903's original "Willow Tea Room" in the Mackintosh designed space - the design is open, modern, and quite very well done. I and the others traveling with me very much so enjoyed our visit, and would highly recommend you also stop in!
A. H.
We were in the Salon Luxe. It is a beautiful, intimate room with so much Mackintosh detail. Now the food, afternoon tea was superb, such choice and variety and lots of it. Boxes are kept ready to take the rest home! Service was first class. The voucher was a birthday present, well recommended.
s. h.
Beautiful building, nice tea, reasonably priced. The waiting staff can tell you all sorts of information about the refurbishment- the locks, the glass, how it was done, it made it interesting as well as a beautiful place. Our waitress was amazing!
M. S.
Authentic feel, charming service, great teas
T. E.
Beautiful decor, lovely food for light lunch or evening meal. Staff helpful and professional. Well worth a visit
C. S.
Great afternoon tea. Delicious and interesting too.
C. A.
An experience, but grossly overpriced for what it was. Afternoon tea was four finger sandwiches (about a third of a sandwich size each) two scones, and four petite pastries. We paid £5 extra to be in the private salon upstairs. My mother-in-law did not realize it would be per person. £15 on top of £19 for each meal.
The chandelier was beautiful. The wait staff were pleasant. Don't see where the £3.5 million in renovation went though.
S. C.
I never dreamed we could actually go there for tea! It was all I could expect and more surrounded by Charles Rennie Macintosh architecture and decor, sitting in his designed tea room. The gift shop next door was fabulous, too, ladies attending it were lovely, so interested in us and interesting to share the Macintosh story with us.
K. F.
Very disappointed with the slow service - we got our teas/coffees and waited another 45 mins for the afternoon tea sandwiches and cakes to come by which time our drinks were either finished or cold. Short changed on number of cakes and scones and jam per person too. Lovely building but need to sharpen up on service.
J. A.
Beautifully served excellent food in fantastic surroundings true to the maestro himself in every detail. Lovely, attentive helpful staff and I would recommend a visit to anyone ! Didn't do the tour of the building but will certainly do so next time. Well stocked shop with lovely items. Visit it now !!
John Allan.
J. S.
Excellent afternoon tea beautiful surroundings lovely staff couldn't be better we took in the exhibition also most enjoyable
P. S.
Absolutely cracking fruit scones with cream and jam (in that order of course!). Their tea selection is very good, and it's all whole-leaf. Covers black, white, green, with decaf versions of some.
I'm not a fan of strong teas, finding them a bit astringent if they're brewed too long. The tea room provided an extra pot of hot water, and lots of milk.
This meant that it was only after 30 minutes or so that the tea started to get too strong.
If I'm back in Glasgow, I'll definitely call in again.
F. Z.
It was such an incredible place!
Sitting in the room, originally designed by Mackintosh with lovely food.
P. H.
My mum booked a champagne high tea in the Salon DeLuxe for my birthday and it was such a lovely experience! The high tea itself was really lovely and the staff were so accommodating when my mum’s train was delayed. The place is absolutely jaw droppings beautiful.
F. e.
I was a little underdressed for a place that's owned by royalty, but I have no regrets for coming here.
I had the vegetarian breakfast which featured vegan haggis, an egg, Scottish flat scones and sweet bread. It was delicious. The service was good too
F. “. W.
We ahead for Afternoon Tea for four of us on a nostalgic visit to this Glasgow tradition . Staff not aware of booking and so were treated very indifferently so were apprehensive as we sat down. Waiter had to be informed of our booking so not a good sign either when he arrived at table.
The Afternoon Tea eventually appeared and was delicious!
However.......No hot water to top up teapots, only 2 strainers to share with very different flavoured teas and no offer of refills. These small omissions are what makes an experience memorable and provided in most other establishments.
It then took 25 minutes to attract waiter’s attention, receive bill, pay and eventually leave.
The refurbished Tearooms are undoubtably beautifully restored in the Mackintosh style, but the service lets it down.
J. W.
Demand exceeds capacity here, but the tea rooms do not compromise on quality. Once you're in, you will get the best service, the best tea, the best goodies, and all the time you want to enjoy it. So - make a reservation before you go. Our small band of connoisseurs declared that the tea outdid Raffles in Singapore and matched Betty's in York.
E. W.
Stunning award winning environment, inside and out. Beautifully restored and with such attention to detail. I'm sure CRM would be so happy with this work.
Food is lovely also with excellent serving staff. Looking forward to the new roof top terrace.
A. V.
Beautiful place to dine. Very nice staff.
E. S.
Just enjoyed a lovely afternoon tea with my daughter. Tables well distanced and sanitiser on every one with a one-way system in operation. Thank you Mackintosh at the Willow, your staff are first class!
R. G.
It always seemed that restoring this architectural gem to its former splendour would never happen. The beautifully crafted full restoration and reconstruction is a triumph, bringing Mackintosh's vision back to blind us with its brilliance. Lunch was equally superb with service that Miss Cranston would have been proud of.
An inspirational experience.
Don't miss the exhibition space and shop.
F. W.
A real delight! Delicious tea with scrumptious freshly baked scones, served in the most beautiful surroundings of this authentically restored iconic building.
R. B.
This is the authentic Willow Tea Rooms experience. So much better than its rivals down the road because....
(1) It is the original Mrs Cranston tearoom, faithfully restored to its original splendour.
(2) The food is good with gingerbread cake to die for.
(3) The prices are not unreasonable and as a social enterprise you know that the money you pay is benefitting more than just the owners.
(4) Service is good and if the waiter we had was one of their Princes Trust trainees, he has a great future ahead of him in the catering industry.
Will definitely be back.
C. J.
Had high tea yesterday. Really enjoyed our brief visit. Atmospheric, of course, with a nostalgic feel that was very relaxing and pleasant. Excellent food and served with courtesy and care by Ryan. Thanks to Ryan and everyone else Colin
B. R.
Unique and stunningly recreated historic interiors. Charming and attentive staff. Delicious food, and variety of delicately flavoured teas. Interesting interactive exhibition, and lovely retail outlet. A wonderful experience.
M. C.
Excellent soup and sandwiches, if a bit expensive. Excellent service and beautiful surroundings. Patisserie disappointing in a city where cakes are king. Patisserie dept needs work and where are the meringues?
D. D.
Expect excellent service all while dining in a work of art.
G. T.
Lovely welcoming staff, brilliant service. Visted for our anniversary and was presented with a lovely plate with congratulations in chocolate and some shortbread. Thank you.
S. H.
My Daughter and l had afternoon tea yesterday in the Salon de Luxe ,food was lovely and the staff friendly. It was nice to see the restoration complete after seeing how much time and work had gone into it all to get it right on the TV program.
A. E. B.
Enjoy a large selection of teas in a beautiful interior. Nice baked goods.
R. P.
Stopped off for afternoon tea with friends from Kent who were visiting Glasgow and we couldn't have chosen a better place.
Beautifully restored and showing Rennee Mackintosh at his very best, it's a fantastic place for a bite to eat or have a wee dram 😋
D.
The famous local architect who deployed aer nouveau in Glasgow
S.
Delicious afternoon tea in a quaint setting with warm and welcoming service.
l.
Worth a visit and an awakening away from the 'tackyness' that became identified with his image.
Tours available and certainly the Guides are very informative and have a genuine interest in his life and works.
The Tea shop in Sauciehall St Glasow is amazing when all the works over the past 4 years to preserve in detail is explained. There are two tiers of seating both expensive but the top tier certainly overpriced albeit special .
Booking advised.
S. H.
Retains the style and charm of the original 1903 tea rooms. Well worth a visit. Superb collection of teas to suit all tastes and scones to die for
J. L.
Delicious afternoon tea in beautiful surroundings with good friends followed by cocktails on the terrace.... and the sun was shining🌞Couldn't ask for anything more☕🍰🍸🍹😎
G. K.
After visiting the exhibition a few months ago I returned to try the tearoom this time. Both me and my girlfriend loved the afternoon tea, friendly staff and mackintosh decor. Would come again :)
d. d.
Been here many times but first since it's been restored. The waiter was great, very friendly and knowledgeable. This is a fantastic place - even if you just want a coffee.
H. M.
Lovely to see Macintosh's tea room as it would have been. The staff were excellent, and the food great. Didnt have time for museum but next time. I will be back.
I. m.
An awesome experience to be had. Yummy afternoon tea
L. G.
Gorgeous tearoom with a history to boot! Great food, incredible surroundings. Worth a visit when in Glasgow. You won't be disappointed!
A. W.
This is tourist attraction in Sauchiehall Street is actually closed for refurbishment right now but will re-open in early July but it's also quite a smart building from the outside. I am not sure Charles Rennie McIntosh designed that part ? Anyway see you in July. Thanks for feedback from the curator
A. W.
Very impressed with tour guide. She is clear and knows what she is saying. Building itself is awesome. Next time I will take my wife for dating dinner/lunch.
J. W.
Stunning place, great to see the building returned to it's former glory. Great food and lovely staff. We really enjoyed lunch.
D. A.
I must admit I only went in the adjoining shop next door that sells Rennie Mackintosh
stuff. I thought the tea room would be extortionate as it looks a bit intimidating, all black and white and dressed up waiters, but it seems quite reasonable now I've seen the menu and prices Next time.
A. V.
Didn't try their tea but the exhibition is quite informative and the tea room looks very nice and elegant. The buildings facade also catches the eye
C. M.
Lovely setting to have breakfast, lunch or just tea.
S. A.
Fantastic recreation of the original Willow tes rooms. So much time, energy and vision has gone into this. Faithful recreation if the original menu - would like it slightly finer and more refined.
A. M.
Fantastic experience staff are all very lovely, tea room is amazing and so is the quality of the food and tea. Will definitely be back.

J. O. N.
A bit of calm in a busy week. An experience we all should have. Good food served in a quiet calm relaxing atmosphere.
J. D.
Beautiful building. Staff were friendly but the service was not up to scratch. Over priced and sadly just a tourist attraction now. I wouldn't rush back.
M. W.
Three stars because it's desperately overpriced. Sandwiches small and fillings cheap..eg cream cheese and cucumber 😑. Staff pleasant and obviously decor beautiful.
G. L.
Stunningly restored, peaceful upstairs private tearoom that is worth paying extra for. Food to a very high standard, would highly recommend
G. R.

There is a large selection of different teas and our teas were very good. The sandwiches with a small salad garnish were good, but priced rather expensive for what you get. The restaurant has 'white tablecloths' but with a glass plate on top, which causes the plates to slide back and forth all the time. Either white tablecloths and then right or you don't.
