Reviews of THE BUTTERFLY HUT
This is located right next to the play park so we could grab a tea/coffee/ice cream and sit while my daughter played. Seating was outside but that's fine as it was dry. Service was good and they had quite a choice for a small space. They were open on a Sunday when we went
Lorraine and her staff are very pleasant and helpful lovely butties cake's and various other goodies available 😋
A large amount of money has gone into redevelopment of the park.
Great open space,Childrens playarea,
kids can go bike riding around the park.
Ideal for playing football and cricket on the grass.etc
Many great events held here throughout the year
Don't forget your packed lunch.
If you live in the local area definitely worth a visit.
Great family park with good children's play area and skate park. Lots of green space for football and cricket ground at back. Lots of summer events.
Very friendly service. Great tea, coffee, cakes and cookies. The park really needs this business to thrive. It's is well positioned next to the children's playground. All it needs I'd people to use it!
This place kinda give me japanese vibes i always wanted to go to Glouchester and im happy that i found this place but i need to go to the other side of Glouchester to Quedgeley. But i really liked this place! Everyone have fun here! ✨ =]
Very reasonably priced
Very pleasant staff
Shame I had to use my card for such a small purchase though.... just means yet again I cant teach my kids independence and how to manage cash money such a shame
Lovely clean park great for dog walking , watching cricket in the summertime picnics on the grass great area for kids to let off steam. Could do with a new bird Avery but other than that well kept and great place to visit.
Lovely large open space with variety of paths. Easter egg hunt today organised from bandstand. Cafe is now open daily, alongside childrens play area. Clean and tidy, lots of litter bins emptied daily and volunteers patrolling to clear up after thoughtless few.
Nice play area for the kids and large open grass space for football or flying disc. Toilet and occasionally an ice cream bike.
Really pretty cafe with a good selection of food n stuff
The Butterfly Hut in the park. Enjoy a drink after your run ir daily exercise.
Lovely park, play area, toilets and seating. Quiet despite being just off City centre. Great for kids, family, running and pets or just for a walk. Lots of entrances, wheelchair friendly, built-in gym too! Will be better with some sunshine and once lockdown lifted!
Excellent play area for toddler to teenagers. Even a swing in which u can swing along with ur toddler. Good for walks and dogs as well.
Nice wide open space, scenic design with wood sculpture, flowering beds and a parrot prison. Toilets nearby. Playground exercise area needs rubber flooring as it's turning into a mud pit. Great puddles for jumping into, and also the kids like them.
Quite a bit of broken equipment in the play park and could do with better lighting at night. Good that there are toilets and really like the bird in the aviary
I like the park and go there quite a lot because it's a good way to walk into the town and it isn't often crowded with other people. It's fairly flat so it's an easy walk. There's a small enclosed play area for kids and parents which seems quite popular.
Occasionally the council organise events, like today there was a small festival with live music.
It would be good to have more of them and maybe late night ones, but I'm quite new here and I'm not sure if they do. 🙄
Sometimes take my pooch around the park for a walk. Pleasant place to meander around, pretty clean most of the time. There is a childrens play area, aviary and plenty of open space for activities.
Great place to go with kids, decent play area including a climbing frame and swings. The toilets are usually closed or very dirty, wouldn't recommend going in them. When its sunny there's usually an ice cream wagon that sells ice creams for a reasonable price.
Nice little hut with coffee, ice creams, crisps. Near the playground which is handy.
Street parking can be difficult surrounding the park at times, however park is well maintained and clean with a decent children's play park area within. Good for family activities or just taking a walk around the park
Good size park and playground.
Great way to spend a few hours at the Fake Music Festival with friends and alcohol 😊 good atmosphere, with fellow music lovers....
Had a lovely walk with the dog, and had a nice coffee in the new Butterfly cafe, it was very nice, the park was buzzing because of the Fair would definitely recommend a dog walk there !!!
I love Gloucester Park its lovely and green, there are plenty of places to sit. There is a great outdoor gym absolutely free. The play park is great although it could do with some more things for toddlers. The skate park is just over the road and there is on road parking but you do have to pay. It is a lovely place for spending time with the family. There is a park run so loads going on plus a Friends of Group that are beginning to make a real difference.
Good park in the main. Toilets need attention like most public ones. Large grass areas. Next to cricket ground. Close to town and the quays. Good range of swings and slides with exercise equipment too. Quite a few events held there like fairs, carnival and fireworks etc
Lovely park. Always loads of people, but never feels cramped. Our daughter loves watching the birds on display. Getting a public toilet would be a huge benefit though.
The park is nice and big, there is a children's play area which I couldn't go near because I have a dog so can't comment on the condition. The park itself has a fair amount of litter and I did see dog excrement despite a sign saying you would be fined £1000.00
It's a lovely park with good open spaces for all the family including dogs! And there is a great well equipped play area with all the swings etc a child could want! Also an outdoor exercise area.
I enjoyed walking round the park it was relaxing and peaceful the exercise machine were very helpful and I will be coming back soon Thanks to the Gloucester park maintenance team the park was tidy but you need to supply more wast bins
The children's play area was great. My toddler enjoyed the swings, trampoline and slide
Very nice park. Good place to go with your family . It's not far from city centre. There are parking spaces near the park. The park has a toilet as well. A lot of interactive events for children and grownups.
Great place to take the kids, have a nice day out, has a cricket pitch, great place especially when somethings going on
Nice coffee shop, nice play area, large green space. Could do with some pcsos regularly patrolling to minimise some of the dubious activities.
This is a lovely park in prime position and has reasonable new play equipment but rubbish everywhere!! Could be more bins (and emptied more frequently) but can't we all take a little more care with our city? Take your rubbish home have some PRIDE in Gloucester and yourself
Nice place, lots of grass area and a big play park for the children to play in also toilets a little cafe and a little splash park. Sometimes a hang out for the drunks and druggies so not an ideal place for the kids to be. Maybe more security/police patrol to move them on.
Nice open space, however, it doesn't feel safe with alot of undesirables drinking and hanging around. On peak warm days / holidays security staff that are often in the city centre would be a welcome presence...
Beautiful park, but there was litter lying around, as well as dog poo and dogs running off leash. I wanted to walk my dog too (on leash), but didn't want to take the chance with other dogs running loose.
A well kept park with a play area for young kids and an aviary containing several Cockatiels. Alltogether a nice park but avoid after dark as it is a gathering place for drug users.
There's plenty to do in our little park these days for young and old.
An outdoor gym, kid's play area, practice rugby posts and across the road, what I am told is a good skate park
So something to do in most weather at any time of year including a park run on Saturday mornings.
Awesome coffee break while children play in the park. Delicious.
A beautiful and peaceful place.
Just came out of the park celebrating gay any people pride. Not many people around shame. Some good acts. The best was the singer from Weston-super-Mare. Can't remember her name. It's still going on with bar food and music.😀
Nice for a walk shame we cant use the exercise equipment why cant we use it the play area where the swings are open very confusing rules with cornovirus they said exercise is allow
A lovely public park. Lots of play equipment for children, fitness area, band stand, bird aviary etc. Quite clean & Close to city centre. A nice recreation area.
Great fireworks display for Gloucester
Great, friendly service. Great selection of foods and drinks. Met up with a friend here for an al fresco catch up.
Large open park with a band stand. I visited when the Gloucester festival was on (in August). The circus festivities were rained off most of the three days but still plenty of circus antics remained. The park does seem to attract young gangs and vagrant types and can be noisy at night.
Good park, but lack of facilities is holding it back. Toilets are regularly locked and I've never seen a shop open at the weekends and I visit/pass through at least 3 times a week
Brilliant one the funfair was there and I literally just moved here it's open the birds and it's a good open space
It is nice park but there are many people who drink alcohol with the presence of families or children. That is no nice.... if there is sometimes control it should be great
Safe, clean, friendly place to visit with the children. Collecting conkers and enjoying the Children's play area.
Pride was so amazing, definitely going again next year
Went there for Gloucester Pride.
Such a good event. Loads of things to see, do, listen too and get involved in. Great organisation and oh so busy!
Fantastic coffee and amazing friendly service from the staff, The coffee in fact was better than most High Street coffee shops
Nice park. Can park locally around the park. Being well kept, no litter, worth a visit.
Good but can do with a much bigger play area. Pittville park in Cheltenham is so much better. You would think the council might invest in a bigger and better play area. Bit of a let down for Gloucester's so called 'main park'.
Good coffee and friendly staff. Great addition to the park.
Guys you have to have the hunters chicken nachos!!! Amazing 👏
No toilets in use. Kids were bursting so couldn't stay and play. Cafe not opened either. Need to get drinks on a hot day then the water drinking fountain was broken. Not good!
Could do with a little revamp and a cleaner to empty bins/tidy litter. Particularly around the children play park
Nice place for afternoon tea
Medium size park in the center of Gloucester packed full of features. Comprehensive children's playground. Exercise machines for young and old. Cricket, football and rugby. Also a basketball court and bmx park across the road.
Local amnesties include Asda. Go outdoors. Takeaways. Mini marts. Also 5 min walk into city shopping center.
As a community park it needs improvement just a bit such as people smoking in the kids play area and other things a child should not see it's a great place but needs more attention.
Great park it's got an great gardens, lovely place to sit and be quiet in a bustling city, sorry no photos, I'll add some in October.
Nice park, often littered with broken glass and groups of people playing football or groups of loud, rude ignorant people... A 50/50 chance of a good experience
It's a good park if its not packed.... My kids have never complained they like it so if their happy then so am I :)
A great place to meet socially distancing in good weather because it is easily accessible - on Sundays the parking in the surrounds is free
Great value. Nasty toilets. Great space, awesome for kids to run around. Really friendly staff. Definitely come back.
Lovely venue for Gloucester Fake Festival 2019. Very well maintained, large relaxing park 5min walk from the multistory car park.
Gloucester City Parkrun takes place here every Saturday at 9am
The park is nice to walk through during the day, if you keep to one side, they often have events in the park.
Decent, clean open park with a bandstand and other attractions such as caged birds and play area.
Great little park loads for kids to do. Plus a small ice cream cart on hand to get kids a little treat while your out.
Friendly staff and lush coffee
It's a nice place where you can go for a walk or just sit down and relax stress free
Nice place to go for a walk depending on time of day. Anytime after 3pm and you'll most likely get harassed😂
Pretty park, great for the whole family, or some individual workout.
We went to the fair and it was good but it did rain @ 9:00pm and ae left
Good park in middle of city. Good kiddies play area plenty of green open spaces
It's getting there, better and safer now that they have chopped down a lot of the trees, still wouldn't go on my own, think the gym equipment was a waste of money and the place they put it stupid right in the main road, no one is going to use it being so close to people looking at them, weather you fit, unfit, fat, skinny your going to be shouted at or wolf whistled but off putting,
Very good coffe ❤
Good place to relax and some good play areas around aswell
Nice park for kids to play. Big field area for dogs to have a run
Lovely play area for the children, shsame the public toilets are not available to use.
Playground and gym equipment as well as lots of field space. As good as a city park gets.
Great park, loved seeing the birds and park well maintained and nice to see.
Gloucester Fun Fair is open now from 8th Aug to 22nd Aug
Good green and children play area. A very good place to be in summer
Very well looked after, cafe being reopened this year and a new bird aviary for later this year.
It is nice but need a lake n wildlife like Cheltenham
An amazing tucjed away little gem. Just to walk round it is wonderful and so many interesting luttle facts about its history.
Brilliant park, amazing when events happen (eg the fireworks, siege of Gloucester, Oktoberfest etc)
Excellent latte, friendly staff
Good place for a walk they do fairs here sometimes
Quite a nice park and play area; shame about some of the people (young kids spitting on seats when we went).
Beautiful park, but people are littering it even though waste bins are around!
Very convenient but a bit expensive
lovely to sit on the grass and whileaway a sunny afternoon. also play area for kids.
Depending on the weather on a sunny day it can feel like you're lost in an exotic country but on a bad day it feels like a ghost town
Evergreen, you can hear the wind and it whiffs to your face and can hear the birds and some children playing. Rejoicing 😊
We do parkrun at Gloucester City parkrun. Lovely to bring life back to the park.
It was a great day out & lots of security to make u feel safe brilliant day
Nice place for walking and events
Beautiful, clean, superb childrens play area, loads of space
Great Park with open space to play and children's play area
Good place to dog walk go for a run or simply take the kids to play in the play area
Beautiful relaxing place with plenty of free activities for all ages
Nice walk kids and dog's enjoyed
Park is fine, but better dont walk alone by night.
Went to the fair on Thursday good rides for children and went to see the fireworks
Good play area and a great place to walk your dog.
Nice kept outdoor space suitable for family & community and events
It took a long time to get our drinks
Nice park just not maintained enough
Good place for the kids to enjoy..
Great afternoon out. The people organising the re-enactment should be proud of their efforts.
A beautiful place to go with kids,or for walking,running...
Nice park. Good place to take the kids
Only crackheads around there but its ok
Big play area for children and relaxation by all.
Great day out with family free events held here
This is actually a rather good park.
Loved it, friendly people, very welcoming and encouraging. First one today.
Huge and very nice park.
Nice safe playing area..
Lots of green space!
Easy access, and holds a number of events, close to city centre and quays.
Charity event at Gloucester park excellent park and day out.
Lovely place to chill, fantastic work done by Gloucester City Council, well done
The kids play area is actually really good
Good space for the kids to play but concerns about the antisocial reputation
Nice during daylight hours but avoid at night.
Lovely little place highly recomend
Brilliantly organised 1st birthday Park Run.
I had to see me the place its very good to wallk and tallk lets see u there
Good place to take your family in the summer
Lovely place to walk well looked after
Awesome to run around with kids and friends
Nice, quit to sit and pick up your minds
Gym equipment needs upgrading.it was clean and just a disappointment needed to cross over road to get to basketball court
Great open space within a safe environment
One of our favourite places to visit
Lovely place but only in the day!
Iwork near there its nice to just sit
Great area for exercise and sports
Nice sized park in the heart of Gloucester
A clean and tidy play, exercise and green space
The upkeep of this area is shameful and is only done in the areas that are busy.
Clean and open, holds a variety of events, music, fair etc.
Nice open space pity the road is so near.
Lovely park - soft grass.
Relaxing couple of hours, very pleasant
Great for kids with plenty to play on.
Plenty of large trees, which is a blessing in this heatwave.
Nice walk
Had to give it five stars as made it through at night unharmed
Nice place to walk the dog.
Great occupation/entertainment for kids
