G. T.Always a friendly welcome and freshly cooked simple and tasty food (hot and crispy chips a speciality) and tea from a pot. Interesting Hull themed memorabilia on the walls. This really is a place for local people but I recommend any visitors to Hull who want to avoid the chains and support real Hull food to try Coffee 31 for lunch or tea and a cake (the coffee is Lavazza - the best from Turin).

R. N.Excellent cup of Lavazza coffee and a decent lunch in a secret part of Hull's city centre. Shop has been running for over 60 years and had some regular clients through most of that time. A real mom n pop style coffee shop for the locals and tourists alike. Pull in for a cuppa and enjoy the random art and deco in the shop. Coffee 31 Hull 👌😁👏
S. S. A. A.I went in Coffee31 with some friends today and had a really pleasant experience.
Immediately upon walking in, we were greeted kindly but not over the top. My friends had been before so they explained to the staff that I was Autistic and need extra time to process things. They said this was fine.
A lot of the menu items looked very tempting, as did the good selection of cakes the had in, at least some were gluten free. Sadly they don't do milkshakes, however, I was in the end glad as I really enjoyed my apple juice.
For food I ordered a breakfast but with just bacon, sausage, beans and toast. It was one of the best breakfasts I've ever tried. Reasonably priced too, especially considering its a small independent business!
The staff took the time to talk me through some of the things on offer and they are willing to go the extra mile to help customers feel comfortable.
Coffee31 is popular so can get busy, especially around lunchtime. I will definitely come again if I can get there when it's not busy 😃

J. F.Our family love Debbie and her staff, a fantastic "Hull' cafe, full of "Hull Slogans" on the walls and memorabilia. We had our of town family and took them for a visit and they absolutely loved it. Her home cooked food is excellent. I especially live the tuna salad sandwich is literally a door wedge and the scones are very very nice. Can honestly recommend a visit. Fab prices too and service with a smile outweighs the coffee giants on the high street. X
J. C.I'd just arrived from London and needed a good breakfast to start my day after traveling. What a find! One of the best, most welcoming cafes up't north. The two very friendly ladies made me a brilliant brecky with proper seeded brown bread and a great cup of coffee!

v.This is the best cafe and coffee shop in Hull. Great food, friendly staff and excellent music. The full English is a work of art and the tea loaf with butter is a moist, fruit filled dream. Debbie, the owner, and her team always offer a warm welcome and I've never been disappointed with the food, drink or service. Local businesses like this need our support so get down there and have a relaxed and cake filled time!

Prices are good and staff are some of the most friendily people out there. Even the music in the back ground just seems to sound better when I'm there. Would give 10 stars if I could!

A. W.Wow, a lovely and interesting cafe. Very friendly staff and the food was very good. I had a brie and cranberry sandwich with a cup of decaf tea and they even had Soya milk 😁 big plus for me. They also do the leave a coffee thing so I left 2 coffees x so I paid for 2 and when a homeless person comes they will give them a free coffee x amazing

Normally I'm a Costa bloke but after i came here on recommendation from a friend I can honestly say that I won't be hitting costa anytime soon. As soon as you walk in you're greeted by happy smiling laughing staff even though it's a small place the queue out the door speaks volumes of how good and popular this place is
Debbie the owner can be seen dashing about chatting to everyone while taking orders, which are cooked to order hot and fresh compliments to the cook on how good the food is there.all the staff make u feel welcome from the onset
Also try the cakes .....
50s and 60s rock and roll music plays in the background and the walls are full of the local hull speak that keeps you smiling and singing along while you're there.
Prices are great too so if your ever in hull pay this place a visit you won't be disappointed.

E. L.A little bit off the main thoroughfare but an oasis for afternoon tea/coffee and a chat. No Wifi makes for a very liberating and social environment. Very friendly service, good pricing and check out the 'ull phrases on the wall.

J.In a world of franchise coffee chains and rushed, poor service, how refreshing it was to visit Coffee 31; tucked alongside BHS from Jameson Street, King Edward and Prospect Street, Debbie and Ady Hill have created an oasis of calm for the discerning coffee lover. It is unpretentious and ever-changing; new cakes,soups and snacks every day make each visit a refreshing surprise - the only thing that remains the same is the gold standard Lavazza coffee that is painstakingly brewed and whipped to your satisfaction.
The establishment has a licence to serve alcohol, so watch out for their night time specials with local musicians and artists.
I always go for the homemade soup which is healthy and calorie conscious. Ask for special diet breads if your are on a strict diet. Nothing seems to be a problem.
