d. h.I like this establishment and have never been disappointed. There is plenty of parking and tables outside if the weather is good. We went in one evening in July. It is clearly popular and it may be wise to reserve a table. The service is welcoming, cheerful and efficient. The food is brought to your table. We had tea which comes in big pots and is hot. We only wanted a sweet and those on offer at £4.95 were attractively presented and tasty. Good value! I can certainly recommend the salted caramel cheesecake with ice cream and mixed fruit and my daughter enjoyed her chocolate fudge cake. The menu is extensive with a section for children and is suitable for vegetarians. It does not provide fine dining but what you get is very enjoyable and reasonably priced. I have heard very good reports of and intend to return to sample both the afternoon tea and pie evenings.
S. F.I went with a couple of close friends for lunch. There is a very good choice of food on offer at reasonable prices. The service was quick and efficient with friendly staff and the food was lovely. The only reason I gave 4 stars rather than 5 is because we were frozen, we ended up having to put our coats on. Fair enough, it was an exceptionally cold day but you shouldn't really have to wear a coat indoors.

Today was for Christmas menu , today felt poor.
Turkey was stuffed turkey roll , one out of 4 left her meal uneaten apart from two small parsnips.
Roast potatoes two small cubed potatoes. Although meal for three of us who ate it found it tasty, we felt just not enough of it.
Biggest gripe artisan cheeseboard, no crackers , who serves cheese without crackers , chutney given to go on slice of fruit loaf !!!!!!. I've been to alot of places and had cheeseboard and always had crackers, fruit and cake on occasions.
The gin however made the night and was very reasonably priced*****

A. P.The food we had (steak sandwich) was really nice, although neither of us (there were two in our party) liked being asked to pay for everything when it was delivered. It felt like we couldn't be trusted to pay afterwards in case we did a runner!!
I also think the outside area needs some shade of some sort and the puddings were a little on the expensive side.

R. M.I have read many of the reviews on this site and share the same excellent experience but with one exception.
My wife and I sat in the outside section, enjoying the food, service and ambience TVG always provides, unfortunately three cigarette smokers arrived and seated quite close to us, their smoke permeated our air space and we found this to be totally unacceptable and distasteful. I am disappointed this practice is allowed and would hope the management will dissuade people from smoking in the future.

v. s.Little Gem in the heart of Kingswood I've been to this restaurant a few times and each time I've found it to be so welcoming the staff are so friendly the food is great and good value for money.
Many customers were sat outside enjoying the sunshine.
It felt so good seeing everyone enjoying their meal after weeks of lockdown.

I. J.Had a meal here on Christmas Eve & Yesterday the 28 DEC 18. Great service & nice atmosphere both visits. Staff very friendly & efficient. Food was excellent on both occasions and we will without doubt be visiting again in the new year.

Visited a couple more times & still Happy with everything apart from being charged for two drinks on the tab we hadn't had. I didn't realize this until we returned home so in future I will pay at the bar. But we will still be eating there for sure.

Some folk have no scruples and spoil things for others. However, it's no big deal anyway and we would certainly go back

T. W.Myself and my sister visited here with my sister treating me to lunch. The Village Green was nicely decorated and was very clean with a lovely friendly atmosphere. It was busy, but even so we found a table quickly and was also servesd quickly. The food is lovely and fresh and cooked to order with generous portion sizes. My garlic mushroom and brie panini with salad, chips and coleslaw was delicious and my sister's sweet chilli chicken and mozzarella wrap with salad, chips and coleslaw looked equally good. Everything seemed reasonably priced too. Will definitely visit again, perhaps for afternoon tea!

P. P.My wife and i visited the village green today, i ordered the blue cheese burger and fries, this was superb, however my wife had the steak pie, this was actually not very nice, the pie was very small, dry with very little meat content, for the cost of the meal this was a large disappointment.
Although busy the service was excellent, from ordering our food only took 15 minutes to be delivered to our table.
We would go again but wouldnt order the pie.
