Reviews of Temple Newsam Tea Room

Had the Framers breakfast along with a coffee and apple juice for under 10 bucks. Just the beverage along was half that cost making for a hearty and economical meal. Staff were great, attentive and had great patience

Winter wonderland at temple newsam is a must to see. Environmental friendly than queuing in traffic for the Blackpool illuminations. Dog friendly, pram and wheelchair friendly too.

Gorgeous food and drinks . Very friendly and polite staff. My son and I visit here regularly after our dog walk . Amazing breakfast!

Coach driver on school trip.
Went to the cafe and had a full English breakfast which was very nice.
Sat in the court yard at 10 am was very quiet and peaceful.
Coach park does need the tree branches cutting back on entrance.
Apart from that ample Room to turn and park.

Caitlin and Rachel G were amazing servers. Food was outstanding, drinks top quality and great to see some four legged friends in the cafe! We will definitely be back!!
Thanks folks!

Staff were nice and the seating area was thoroughly cleaned. The tea rooms are a nice area to sit in and the courtyard provides good shelter from sun and wind. I did feel pricing was poor as were some drinks/food options. I couldn't find anywhere to buy convenient bottled drinks at Temple Newsam. There were glass bottles in the cafe but these are heavy to cart around, quite expensive and have don't have much drink in them. This problem was similar with snacks, they had some nice crisps, but not much else which could be put in a backpack to eat when hungry when exploring the huge grounds of the site.

Don’t do single cheeseburgers only double (at nearly £12!). Came without barbecue sauce and was cooked really rare. Would want to know this on ordering as very pink undercooked burgers are not for me.

This place has improved beyond recognition!!
Last time I came here (over a year ago) the food was awful, but today the food was delicious, and the service was excellent
S. H.
Great place to meet up, sit inside or out, always managed to get a seat. Food and drink is seasonal and varied, served by a courteous and professional staff.

Always a lovely experience when I visit
Helpful staff that bought my order to the table for me due to having a pushchair and a dog 🙂

Great lovely spacious park and lovely walled flower garden and nice little court yard caffe would recommend on a warm sunny day like it was today :)

Nice place to have a great breakfast after morning ride
R. L.
Nice tasting coffee in a cup unless takeout, tables in shade , quick pleasant service.

Really enjoyed it...the dog friendly area was superb !

Not the cheapest, but would rather pay a little more to help keep the cafe there, and to support the Free green spaces of Leeds, the toffee Pecan and apple pie slice was tasty and needed after a 10 mile walk in the snow. Very friendly staff and was well adapted for safety in this Covid world.

Good friendly service but, asking for a 'well done bacon' sandwich, I believe it did touch the pan......
M. B.
Excellent quality food for a reasonable price. The burger was one of the best around and for 6 quid! Partner had minor complaint with her food which was sorted quickly... They even offered a refund. Would recommend.

Superb service (felt safe and organised in this difficult Time) , delicious food, very helpful and friendly staff. Definitely recommend this place. Not too expensive and well worth every penny! Will be returning again soon!

Lovely atmosphere. Beautiful views. Has everything one needs to refresh and fuel up

Lovely afternoon tea for my parents 60th wedding anniversary, they'd had their wedding reception at Temple Newsam 60 years ago. Staff were really attentive, the food was delicious and the table setting looked lovely. To help celebrate their day the manger gave my parents their afternoon tea 'on the house' and he presented my mum with a big bouquet of flowers. Such a lovely thought.

Lovely food, maybe a little expensive but worth it.

First spot of lunch out in months. The Ploughman's lunch board didn't disappoint. Just scrumptious. Staff are great and we felt safe. Will be back.

Lovely staff. Nice food options cooked fresh to order and quaint environment with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating.

The service, food and drinks today ( Saturday 24th October ) was fantastic. We had our 2 dogs and there was 6 of us, I had just taken the drinks off the tray and two ladies were at our table with the food !! Brilliant !!
C. S.
Great cheese burger and salad today, not too expensive either. Hot chocolate as good as always.
Staff helpful and polite.
Thanks

Visited the cafe today with my mum and we were extremely impressed with the covid secure protective screens. The staff were lovely, excellent customer service
R. K.
I was shocked to be charged £17 for 3 hot chocolate s and 3 gingerbread men. Especially as the hot drinks come out of a machine. Apart from being very expensive, food and drinks are okay. I will probably go back.

Well used cafe and souvenir shop in the stable courtyard of the Temple Newsam estate, very popular, nice menu, good food, always busy, clean and staff are young and seem happy to help.
S. S.
Good location and range of food on offer. It's a bit expensive but a treat after a long walk through the woods. Dog treats provided for your four legged friends.
M. O.
Visited on a week day, it was quiet, there are tables outside. Very clean, lovely setting. Gift shop and plant sales nearby.
I. B.
Went a few weeks back with my son, aafter a long walk... we just had sandwiches for lunch, it seemed OK, i like the building, although nothing special, but t'was very busy.. Going again today (SUNDAY) hopefully. May have breakfast, let's see what that's like.
J. H.
Lovely tea room, very friendly staff!

Really lovely and relaxing. Outside seating so you can sit with your dog.
A. B.
Cosy and casual. Usually go after Parkrun on a Saturday. Always space though it does seem busy. Service is fine and the venue is always clean, warm and friendly.
M. S.
The fact that there is a separate room for dogs - complete with drinking area for our pooch - was a real bonus for us. The coffee and cake selection was great and the staff were really helpful and polite.
C. H.
Especially like that they stock and sell produce from the local butchers, pork pie and peas is great after a nice walk!
D. W.
Friendly service from all staff and Covid safe environment.
J. R.
Well organised on going in for a takeaway drinks and snacks, but sorry your coffee is awful.
G. R.
I regular bring my dogs for walks with the wife where we can walk for hours on well maintained paths and trails without crossing our tracks with plenty to see and lots of space to run its one of the few places in Leeds where dogs can be dogs

Couldn't fault the staff or the food today. Stopped there for a cuppa and some food. The staff we're amazing, first day they have opened the tearoom for service inside since lockdown. They have put screens around each tables. Hand sanitizer as soon as you enter. You need to wear your mask while you order your food then can take it off once sat at your table. The food was brought to your table. Lovely hot food. Absolutely delicious carrot cake 🎂 too. They have certainly put a lot onto re-opening with all social distancing in place. We'll definitely be going back. Highly recommend a visit there.
A. W.
Nice tea room on a sunny day, beware it isn't cheap!
M. S.
Really enjoyed the sandwiches
s. t.
Lovely food and service just a bit overpriced
R. L.
Visited the grounds with friends for a picnic sat in amphitheatre near tea rooms, tearooms open serving in takeaway cups. Friends had coffee. We had taken a flask :)
R. F.
Pleasant tea and coffee room. Stables courtyard is lovely in the summer when it is warmer. Cakes àre a bit expensive.
J. H.
Family friendly, small choice of food and quite expensive
I. V.
Good food good prices good sanitisation
s. w.
Lovely day out for the family, remember to use your Leeds card
M. C.
Nice enough and the new range of salads look like decent value but pretty much everything else is somewhat expensive. £3.95 for a slice of cake, nearly £5 for a scone with jam and cream (but no drink) but a captive audience I guess and hopefully the profits help maintain other areas at Temple Newsam.
C. H.
Very quiet but at least decent coffee
D. D.
Machine made cappuccino. Rather weak. Packet flapjack. Seems to trade on location rather than quality. But it has to be said. The location is great.
R. T.
Too pricey and unfriendly staff regarding employees are council staff I worked for LCC as a driver 23 years
Z. K.
Lovely breakfast, shame they don't do eggs Benedict.
M. S.
Really liked the cafe
I. B.
For a council tea room very pleasant.
